[Q] General Inquiry: Pitch in your ideas! - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Samsung engineers are currently working on a bug-fixing Android 5.0 update for the Galaxy S5 and would like your opinion.
Here is the question:
If there is one feature that you would like to have on your Galaxy S5 device, what would it be?

Lmao.......KNOX REMOVED....DELETED.....PERMANENTLY DISABLED....

Quiet hours/silent hours schedule so we can tell the phone to disable all notifications / sounds etc at a certain time and enable them again at another time, say 00:00-7:00
Currently having to use a 3rd party app called "Silent Hours"
And there seems to be an issue with U.Power Saving Mode, when I disable it, the phone does not fully return to the way I had it before, it leaves some things disabled
And default apps do not stay default, I tell MX Player to be the default video player, I do not clear defaults, I do not install another video player app, yet when I try to watch a video, it asks which app I want as default again
Also in camera settings, for example: when I set up options for the video camera and normal picture taking camera, the next time I go to use the camera, the options have reverted back to default
I have factory reset my phone and the problems are still there

A way to disable (without rooting and using xposed) the battery and USB cover popups. (I know this is already enabled on some variants of this device)
An 'out of the box' Theme engine/picker/modifier......more control over the visual options of the UI without having to flash alternative launchers.
And we don't need to see a message that tells us the time has been checked and updated, it's enough to know that this is happening........

Stop this issue from happening so that I can use my phone :good:....

Blocking mode is already present on your device for the first request you have made in this post.
We'll fix the dafault app management functionality issue you are experiencing.
We haven't heard of issues with the camera application, however we'll look into the problem.
Thanks~

Blocking mode? You mean the quiet hours first line I posted? It's not present, and many people are complaining that it is not - the option to schedule the phone to mute during certain hours is missing from the settings area it is supposed to be
Meant to be in Sounds and Notifications > Interruptions > then a schedule setting, which is not there unless myself and many others are wrong about where it is located?

I'd also like to see the addition of being able to use external SDCard as main storage, so all apps are installed straight to SDCard and not the phone internal storage, with ART, 16GB is tiny vs DALVIK, my 16GB DALVIK tab can install hundreds of apps on 16GB, my 16GB S5 with ART can only install about 20% of that amount before running out of storage
Windows Phone 8.1, which is way behind Android in terms of things like this, has been able to install apps to external SD since last year

Yes sorry about that.
We are planning to add that support under developer options after we receive approval from Google itself. We do have to follow security and policy guidelines from Google, so please understand.

you're adding Support for installing apps to SDCard?

On top of your request, they will be working to add a developer feature where you can run the Android OS from the microSD card itself.

Erm......I'm assuming you are talking about the *removable* microSD card?.....
Surely that wouldn't work......well, maybe between two identical devices, but how would it work if the card was removed from a qualcom device and inserted into an exynos device? And also, wouldn't there be some concerns over using (for example) paid apps from one device in another?.........

Yes I am talking about removable microSD card.
Let me clarify. When you enable this option in the developer mode when it becomes available, your device will see the microSD as internal storage instead of external. So the idea here is, combining the microSD storage capacity with the phone storage capacity.
The microSD will be formatted and partitioned with the phone's algorithms. A unique identifier ID will be saved, thus the partition that the device uses will be locked to only that device. If you plug the microSD into another device, that device will not be able to access the partition that your previous phone created.
This feature is currently under pilot program and is not %100 perfect. We are working to make it %100 perfect.

Xoom & Honeycomb Early Adopter Wish List

So, we're all early adopters and we all know what we're getting into but if we could reach out to Motorola & Google, what would you want to tell them?
What do you wish the Xoom / Honeycomb had?
Please don't list things that we know are already coming down the pipe, like Flash, micro-SD card support, and 4G.
Here are some things I'd like to see in the next software update:
Contrast & Saturation controls
Separate wallpaper for lock screen & home screens
REAL USB support, not this MTP crap!
Trickle charging from USB port
Scrollable task manager
Ability to auto hide clock / menu bar when viewing fullscreen videos or games, it does hide now, but the apps don't go true fullscreen, it's more like a lights out effect
Ability to rate / comment in the Market app
What else would you like to see?
I'm not sure if the second to last one is possible without a gesture to bring it back up. The last one should already be there though.
I would like to see something done about smoothness of entering text in a browser. Its laggy and horrible to use.
Good point. Hopefully, future Honeycomb devices will have a proximity sensor. That would be such a cool way to bring up auto hidden menu / status bars.
I'd also like to see it play many of these video codecs flawlessly with hardware acceleration.

What's good on USB file system compared to mtp?
Same functionality to transfer files from PC.
Mtp is better because no need to mount it.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I don't want usb mass storage support if it means I have to unmount the internal 'sdcard' ever.
This is an improvement over the past, and it's a better implementation than Apple's for sure. It makes media transfer super easy for users and that is all it's about. I never want to have to unlock my tab and hit mount to just transfer a file ever again.
My biggest thing would be the ability to be able to re-size the widgets like you can do in launcherpro.
The widgets on the apps are too small because they are primarily designed for the phones...so all the things I need right now all fit into one screen...and it looks to empty if i move them.
Other than that, the speed of the internet rendering....with a dual core processor you would think you could use all that power to actually render it in real time so its not all fuzzy for a sec or two
also maybe the same kind of word prediction like they use in sense or blur where it actually shows you the different words that it thinks you are trying to use...which im sure will get fixed by different developers with different keyboards...maybe.
EDIT -- FOUND IN SETTINGS. THANKS BAUXITE
Maybe also the ability to add little icon type things to the task bar for the things you love the most...so you could just be playing a game or something and need/want to use the internet...I mean you could use that last 5 apps launcher but meh...think it would be useful.

My cousin has the NIA, he chose that over Xoom cuz he wanted to be able to plug in his external hard drives and play movies directly off of them.
32GB sounds like a lot but a typical 1080p mkv is about 8-10GB. Not only is that time consuming to copy, you could only fit 4 or so movies on there.
Not sure if the Android file system even supports large file sizes like NTFS does.

I wonder why they didn't just put currently running apps right on the task/menu/clock bar itself?
Probably because it would look too "windows/mac"-ish? That's a lame reason. It actually would've been smarter and more user friendly to do that since that bar is persistent and never disappears...as far as I've seen.
I hope they get rid of that apps button and just put them on the bar in the future.

The one thing I can think of off the top of my head would be to allow us to "Clear All" notifications in the bar all at one time, rather than click the X to clear out every notification. Would be especially useful if you just batch installed a ton of apps in the market in one run. It's a very minor request but my two cents worth. I'll think of more.
I agree. With most of the items posted. However instead of having the recent apps button make that a scrollable. Task manager.

Stylus support with hand shadow ignore, so I could write on it like a sheet of paper.
Handwriting recognition would also help.
That is something else called "USB Host" feature.
Which I believe Xoom has it, but you need special cable.
The special cable will be made by Motorola and has not been released yet.
There was a thread discussing this before and you can find one as well in the official Moto support forum for Xoom.

Yep, agree!
What if we wanted to take the tablet on a road trip where you wouldn't be close to an outlet? USB trickle charging would definitely help in that case as well!
The main issue here is whether this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it's software, I'm sure some genius on here can figure out how to unlock that.
Mainly what OP said. Additionally:
Applications in Market should show "installed" or "purchased"
Search result list position should be remembered after "checking out" one app and returning to the list
Integration of PDF viewer into browser
Native support of folders (although I love the Folder Organizer app)
Option to configure transition effects between homescreens (like in LauncherPro)
That's what came to my mind immediately.

Want to get rid of Diagnostic.Client.Wakelock? Info Inside!

Wakelocks are the bane of battery life and ever since stock rom, there has been a single wakelock that for the life of my I couldn't shake.
Diagnostic.Client.Wakelock !!!!
This wakelock is brought up everytime in ROM threads only to be buried with answers such as drain your battery to empty and reboot, that fixes it!!!111
However the issue runs deeper. Remember the controversy a few years ago about spy software on our phones? Does carrier IQ ring a bell?
Ever since stock rom, as well as any derivations of the stock rom, I've always seen this wakelock with hundreds of wakes. No amount of googling helped until this week, when I stumbled on another thread about Carrier IQ. Our Note 3 has Carrier IQ in it and it's the source of Diagnostic.Client.Wakelock. Innocent looking name for a wakelock huh?
However the fix for it is quite simple really, remove any Android OS calls to any carrier IQ libraries/frameworks. Instructions:
1) You need Root.
2) Download System Tuner from the play store. I can't link urls as a new user but the play store link should contain this "details?id=ccc71.pmw"
3) In System Tuner go to "App Manager".
4) At the bottom filter your Apps by "System".
5) Find "Android System" in the list, and press "Open" at the bottom.
6) Choose "Details"
7) Go to the "Activities" tab and uncheck the following:
Code:
com.carrieriq.iqagent.service.ui.UserPage
com.carrieriq.iqagent.service.ui.ShowMessage
com.carrieriq.iqagent.stdmetrics.survey.android.QuestionnaireLaunchActivity
com.carrieriq.iqagent.stdmetrics.survey.android.QuestionnaireActivity
8) Go to the "Receivers" tab and uncheck the following:
Code:
com.carrieriq.iqagent.service.BootCompletedReceiver
com.carrieriq.iqagent.service.receivers.EnableTogglelmpl
9) Go to the "Services" tab and uncheck the following:
Code:
com.carrieriq.iqagent.service.IQService
10) Reboot your phone.
You will never see Diagnostic.Client.Wakelock ever again. It's been 3 days for me and I'm on Firenote ROM and I dont see this wakelock showing up anymore. And the battery difference is very noticable. No more 1% drain while screen is off.
If you found this advice helpful consider buying me a coffee: Bitcoin Address: 1MXubhXjxCNGxzTLpRttgr6w1YWXQeo5ei
BONUS: If you want to cleanup after Carrier IQ consider removing its library files from /system. Voodoo Carrier IQ can tell you where they are located and deleting them gave me no problems: As a new user I cant link so google: "org.projectvoodoo.simplecarrieriqdetector"
Just curious what Firmware are you currently on with your AT&T Note 3 ?
I've read alot about Carrier IQ and there tracking way's and there company still denies what the software is truly intended to do..But nonetheless it's a invasion of privacy and I like your post...
I'm currently on 4.4.2 Dynamic Kat 3.2 and I did download Voodoo's app to verify if Carrier IQ exist...When I ran the test it came up with 0 hits (NO Carrier IQ)...Which is no where to be found in this Rom, But I used this app before on other devices and found it...
View attachment 2792180
I'm using FireNote ROM v? not sure if it was version 7,8 or 9. Doesn't matter, because it's still a derivation from the stock rom, and I remember staying on Stock ROM for the longest time and not being able to get rid of this wakelock.
I don't know where 4.4.2 Dynamic Kat 3.2 originally was derived from, but if it was derived from stock rom, then odds are it will have traces of Carrier IQ. AFAIK tablet roms such as XNote should be free from Carrier IQ, because cell phone service providers only wanted to monitor your phone use and data mine your activity.
While Carrier IQ may not be fully active in the sense of sending actual data back to whomever designed it, it's still active as far as running on your system, hence the wakelock. Not to mention what kind of a bogus wakelock is called Diagnostics? Diagnostics of what, my mileage or disk space, or tethering use???
The easiest way to check for Carrier IQ is to run some of these Carrier IQ detection apps, OR manually browse the /lib folder for carrier IQ ".so" files. For the ROM I was on (FireNote), I found two .so files named carrier IQ:
DO NOT DELETE THESE FILES. SOME USERS ARE REPORTING A SOFT BRICK. However I assume booting into recovery you can readd these files from another rom.
Code:
/system/lib/libiq_client.so
/system/lib/libiq_service.so
Again it all depends on where your ROM was derived from, if stock, then yes you probably have it.
Edit:
Dynamic Kat is a stock THEMED Kit Kat rom based on the international build NC2.
Click to collapse
Probably because the ROM is an international ROM and not US based, explains why there is no carrier IQ. WTF USA???
Thanks for the find. I have been experiencing this wakelock since the OTA in Jan/Feb. I had great battery life before the OTA. I tried almost all of the custom roms in this forum. The only one that did not produce these wakelocks was X-Note. I had assumed that result because it was an international rom. I also liked FireNote but got the wakelock.
This fix should let me try out AT&T stock based roms now.
Again, thank you very much.
Scanned my phone and it looks like the official KitKat is infected with Carrier IQ, but it's not active.

My awake time hasn't gone down significantly, but I'm getting more battery with the tweaks from OP.
Yeah since the root cause of Diagnostic.Client.Wakelock is coming from Carrier IQ, the only roms affected by it should USA based roms meant for cellphones. International roms or roms ported from tablets should not have this issue.
Although I haven't installed any KitKat roms it makes sense that it contains it, and also that XNote which was ported from a tablet does not have this issue.
I just used this instruction last night and no more battery drain from client wakelock. Thx op

Indeed. The System Tuner software shows how stealthy the CarrierIQ software is, hiding within the main Android System process. I am quite glad to have it deactivated. Nasty piece of garbage.

Are you by any chance using the Xposed Disable Location Constent module? I occasionally lose GPS while using maps, and have to toggle GPS on/off/on from the QuickTiles occasionally and I wasn't sure what that was related to.
So Carrier IQ was probably polling for GPS and breaking it?
What other tweaks do you have for removing other wakelocks, or other improvements? It's good to see people researching the same issues that one can solve.
Now for some reason System Tuner can't open my Android System process...
Anyone have any ideas about that?
Very Nice!!!!!....Thanks a lot!!...Usually my battery drain is higher overnight..if I leave it at 90% before sleep I used to have 50% in the morning. I applied this wake lock fix and slept with 61% baattery and in the morning I still see 55%...Woww!!...I have almost 100 apps installed

Guys i have being playing around with the phone for 3 or 4 days. My first impression as every one was WTF 4562398562389476 Bloatware apps installed. And i did remove all of them or disabled them. (im using original rom). I have also removed all the GAAPS, cleaner and all that stuff from the phone.
But it crossed from my mind why not to check ASSUS apps.
Splendid: This aps gives you full control of the display. You can enable blue light filter, vivid color mod, you can control hue and saturation, the temperature of the image also. its a very complete app and its not bad at all.

SystemUpdate: There is not much to say there but with one click you can receive the OTA updates. Quick and easy (and works lol).
Themes: it does what it is. you can apply in a easy way new themes. it gives you the option too, you can share your creation with ASUS and they may include yours into this.
Weather: As it says the name this is an app that shows the weather from were you are its very complete and its stylish. also has a good looking widget.
MiniMovie This app is for making videos "presentations" from photos that you have on your phone. you can add text music. is easy its not bad at all. i do not use this kind of apps but i may stat using it . also when you finish editing you can share to whats up, or upload into youtube, etc.
Music: This app is the music players it has nothing special it does what is expected not bad at all. also has an option that you can connect to cloud storages to listen your music.
MyAsus Its an app that let you connect to asus and open tickets to them ask questions etc. also you can access zen forum. there is not much interesting here more than you can open support tickets to them. i did open asking for update 5.1.1 and it took like 2 days to reply but they did. Also they send you news like the IFA event form today.
Pc link: This application lets you mirror the screen from the phone into your windows desktop. its not bad at all. there you can controll all your phone, also take snapshot, make videos , etc. its not bad at all.
Photo Collage: This apps let you make Collage with taken photos, or downloaded ones. its easy and quick not bad at all. lots of options. you can modify the colage how is made. add text effects colors etc. when you save you can share through watsapp or any app.
Power Saver: This app lets you configure may aspects of battery consumptions. also let syou set battery modes .
FlashLight: This app turns on your led to use it as a flashlight also you can turn on the display for more light. SOS message and some other thinks . this app is not very good it does drains your battery if you turn off the LED and you left the app opened. so close the app when you stop using it. There is not need all this options we only want turn on the led to use the celphone as a flashlight.
FM RADIO: I have not tested due i did not connected a head phone yet. but it should be good.
Kids Mode: I have not used it but its good one. you can configure the phone to have only some apps that kids can use.
Asus Mobile Manager: I have mixed feelins with this app. it does make some short cuts to the ui or other apps. but what can you do there is. you can configure not to start apps when the celphone boots. also you can make applications not to send notifications. You can clean the memory from apps loaded. And go to the Battery saver app.
Audio Wizard Basically you can select music modes presets
Auto Start Manager: This app is shown inside Asus Mobile Manager. it lets you block apps to start when the celphone boots.
Camera: This is the camera app there are lots of review. it has tons of options its very good.
Asus Cover: This app lets you configure the Flip cover when its installed on the phone. i dont have one so there its not much to do here.
Email: Im very happy with this app i have connected to Outlook server and it works grate it has tons of options very complete. Probably it is not the best but its ok for most users.
Calendar: tis a calendar its very good also. i have synchronized to outlook sever works perfect tons of options to configure.
Regarding the ASUS IU. its great its fluid and you can tweak all aspects from the interface. you can modify fonts, effects, colors etc. it may be not as complet as nova or similar launchers. but for most of us the job is well done.
There are some others apps that i still have disabled. like:
Mirror:(its enable the front camera (selfie))
Remote link: allows you control your pc from the cellphone. (this is not bad at all if you need it)
Party link: i think it was like an app to share contact in a party but the other person should have the app installed also. The idea is not bad but too complicated to send a contact.
ShareLink: Dont remeber waht was this.
SuperNote: An app to do notes. im using other so i don´t have any opinion on this. But should not be bad at all.
WhatsNext: its like shows you what you have to do next in your calendar. its like a shot cut to your schedule.
ZenCircle and ZenTalk don´know like something "SOCIAL"
Giving a thought what i can say of ASUS apps. they are not bad at all i was expecting very bad apps. and they are being updated so it may be good to give them a try. they are balanced for productivity and leasure. they are quick and elegant. what i can say thumbs up for almost all of them
i cant deny they are A LOT.
Most of the bloatware can be disabled now. On previous versions of the firmware, this could not be achieved without rooting. That being said, its hard to deny that a select few of the Asus apps are actually quite useful and designed well for use.

i was not aware. good to know they are making things better. we need to wait 5.1.1 update to have better battery performance.
There is not even an iota of doubt that they are making things better but they should have released 5.1 now. its getting late every single day
PhotoCollage and Minimovie and flashlight are excellent aps. The others i don't use.
Let 5.1 come first and then you'll get real performance cause 5.0 supports only 32 bit unlike 5.1, it supports 64 bit too and memory bug leak is mind **** on 5.0
I actually like Splendid. Wish I could download it for my other devices such as my shield tablet.

yes I've latest firmware with WW version, I'm having one problem more. Does 2g work on second sim?
Well, agree that some of them are good - I like Splendid and Picture Collage, the camera app is good, and the PC Link suite are good. But the calendar is basically the same as Google one but much uglier. Mail app I prefered the ASUS one to Gmail, but why both preinstalled? Waste of space - shouldn't bother with Gmail one, those who want it can get from playstore. The Supernote app is awful - the finger writing function is just plain useless. Party Link is pointless. The torch app is OTT - a simple quick settings toggle would suffice. Live water - waste of space. Browser - why? It has Chrome, surely most people use that? I suppose some of the apps that duplicate Google app functions are needed for the CN sku, but we don't need them on WW models. I could go on, but I won't. Basically, I just wish they had put in only the core apps and then an ASUS Apps Hub app that introduces extra apps you could choose to get from the playstore according to your need.

Not receiving OTA?

Rcv'd back from S-off service June 9.
Root-happy app uninstalling since.
Old firmware.

I think I broke it.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Forgive me.
I thought folks were on 1.30.xxx or even higher by now.
And my battery life is pathetic.
And i keep getting notifications about having connected to my home network without ever leaving the house, I get good signal clear to my car.
Many things to love about HTC 10. A number of things... not so much.
I don't understand your problem. Looks like your phone has the most recent Verizon OTA already.
I swear, I thought I read that a 1.30.xxx was available.
You're right, it appears I have the latest from Verizon.
I thought the newer versions I must have imagined (or maybe other carriers released) would solve all my stock HTC 10 woes.
I sincerely apologize to the forum for my version oversight. I expected to have another OTA by now, restoring my confidence in my flagship phone's ability to function as one would expect.
Don't go by software version numbers for OTA's; the numbers are for internal control, not external tracking. Currently the Verizon 10 is on 1.19.605.22. The 605 means Verizon (Spring is 651). The Unlocked and I believe possibly the Sprint versions are at 1.80 or something. As a sometimes software and hardware tester for HTC I can assure you, the numbers don't mean anything. I see issues with my later test builds that I never see on my retail handset, and the OTA's don't come down until the carriers have approved them, long after HTC is done building and testing.

Every Verizon 10 owner, whether rooted or not, should go into Settings--> App Manager and DISABLE DTIgnite. It's nothing but a bloatware engine. Disable it, remove whatever bloatware you can (or disable it) and you will be rid of it. I disable: Verizon Cloud; Verizon Navigation; CallerID and DTIgnite. I confess, I prefer Messages+ over the default messaging app.

Already annihilated DTIgnite in every way I could find. Man, it was stubborn! I've disabled all Verizon apps except "My Verizon Mobile", instead stripping it of every permission.
I use Signal as my default messaging app, as recommended by Edward Snowden himself! lol
I literally ripped out every bit of software I don't use/need. The default mail app, Zoe, NFL Mobile, Visual Voicemail, all the Amazon apps, the list goes on. Battery has been so poor, however, I thought maybe I broke it.
I unplugged 40 minutes ago and i went from 100% to 94% in that time.
Any idea what app populates /data/system/dropbox ? i found files there logging practically all usage. i have since emptied the folder and changed its permissions so that "system" user no longer had access.
adding that my remedy seems to have worked, and no weird errors have presented themselves

Well, I'd like to actually use the phone, so I don't go quite so far. Zoe I keep active, My Verizon I keep to monitor data usage, Visual Voicemail is now free and actually useful; Amazon apps are definite battery sucks but can be tamed. I didn't to into the way you can fix permissions using App Manager....that was not the point of the earlier post. I'm relatively content with my battery life, but I also run a custom kernel.

I didn't know you could have a custom kernel on stock ROM.
I'm patiently waiting for CM13. A thread was created to promote its development http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3410009

Sure, why not? If you're bootloader unlocked and rooted, go for it. Elemental X 0.6 is the last version for the current retail firmware. The later version(s), I think it's up to 0.9, are for the 1.8x base. I wouldn't run it on Verizon until post whenever the OTA drops.

I lack a proper education of how the software actually works at that level in a *nix-like environment, especially Android.
I have intermediate experience with *nix. I've set up DHCP servers and Apache servers, SMB servers and proxy servers. I use CLI or GUI, on x86, x64, and RPi (arm). Rarely, if ever, have I required modifying the kernel of an installation. Not since compiling Gentoo completely from source 10 years ago.
I would benefit from a "for dummies" video when it comes to the many aspects of low-level Android customization.

Well, there are plenty of threads on XDA for that. Bottom line is that once the devices are unlockable, some developers like to cook ROMs, others like to do kernels, still others focus on recoveries. If you stick around long enough, you recognize developers who move from device to device the same way users will through time. The developer of Elemental X kernel, @flar2 is a long-time kernel developer who has done solid work in the past, so I have absolute faith in running his kernels on my handset. The Elite kernel developer, @buckmarble, is also a great kernel developer.
I wouldn't presume to write or code myself. The most I ever do is put things in or take them out of custom ROMs before flashing, but lately I have stuck with stock ROMs until devices are "end of life," (which is why I'm running a custom ROM on my One Max, and will soon probably have to flash a custom ROM to my Nexus 7 FHD). And now that you can run Xposed without modifying system, I can do many of the mods that custom ROMs do.
Well, that was easy.
Elemental X 0.06 has been installed.
I'll report back on battery in a little bit.
changing kernels had no effect on the battery drain. still discharging just as quickly.

[MOD][PORT] Samsung Gear 360 Manager (Universal mod for any devices with Android 5.0)

Now as a remote for Gear 360, you can use any phone with Android 5.0 or higher!
This level of compatibility we were able to achieve due to the fact that our programmer was removed by the LiveView module (preview in real time)..
Therefore, even on slower and older phones like Samsung GALAXY S4 and Note 3 this app works and allows you to change Exposure settings, white Balance, HDR as well as set limits ISO. And most importantly, to remotely control shutter release on spherical camera Gear 360 to making photos the precisely the right moment, not when the timer expires.
This modification is based on modification of established respected Bin4ry.
Mods:
1.) Removed LiveView to support all devices (by Dionis10)
2.) Replaced by UI icons on a large and high quality (Designed by Admin ALLGe.RU)
3.) Removed device lock (by Bin4ry)
Requested and paid for the creation of this modification: ROSTOVisualFX
Installation requirements:
1. Any devices from any manufacturer with the OS Android 5.0 or higher.
2. You need to install Samsung Accessory Service (You will be prompted to install this component automatically after you install Gear 360 Manager).
We recommend you to install our mod, in case if on Your device is not running LiveView in the mod from Bin4ry or You don't need LiveView or You want to save battery charge camera and phone without LiveView.
Download the latest version You can always get on the official website of the developers of this modification here:

Stitching and saving problem... only stitched up to 29% and save up to 50% and it stop, nothing done. Also when pressed on the recording, it recorded but can't stop it. The stop button won't responded. There are other problem... when changing lens to different mode, it can't changed back. I have to X out the app and re-open it again in order to change.
Anyone got this to work with the Pixel XL?

Hi,
I use the Galaxy S5 with Android 6.0.1. and the latest firmware on Gear 360.
I tried the app By Bin4ry, but due to problems with the live view I could not use. I installed the app By ROSTOVisualFX and may be used, make a photo, but not a stich panorama (only up to 60-70%).
Is there a solution for this problem?
Regards,
Midhat

Hi guys
great work!!!
I need information about samsung s4, my last app version don't work (no preview) , i've write it in the forum a few months ago.
I can use this way to use my phone?
It would be enough to use the LivePreview just to see the shots before recording and to make some adjustments.
Any chance for an update?
