Battery stats on mine show both, percentage and approximate time remaining above the graph and time in use since last charge below the graph

When you recalibrate your battery, it takes a few life cycles for the battery to stabilize and for Android to get an accurate reading. First life cycle is alway short. Of course, don't play with ROMs so much it may damage your phones read only memory.
I will post my battery life soon, I'm still waiting for the battery to deplete, I haven't recharged my phone in 4 days now after I calibrated my battery.

Wow 4days is huge, iam getting hardly 1day battery after calibrating yesterday....
Actually i removed my phone before getting the 100% notification....
So should i wait for battery to improve???
By the way, when did you calibrate???
Should i calibrate again????
If this wont work i will try terminal emulator method...
So in this method do we need to charge 100% or discharge completely??
Some precautions or just write those commands at any point of charge???
Iam wondering how to thank from the xda app
Thnx to both of u

Same problem here.
Battery drained from 100% to 60% in 3 hours, then to 15% after 5 hours. phone super hot! Widget showed temp 42°C !
Not even used the phone for more than 15 min! REALLY!
Then calibrated before 3 days, now a max of 1 day battery backup only.
Plz help.
And 1 life cycle means I must let the phone charge 100% then let it discharge till it's switched off.
And I should repeat the cycle.correct me if I am wrong.
And I have the habit of not charging to 100% in a single charge session, 2-3 breaks, should I change it?
clarkkov said:
If your phone is hot without you using it, something is running in the background, that shouldn't. Which ROM are you using and which tweaks/fixes have you applied?
One battery life cycle means battery drain from 100% (fully charged) to 1% (fully discharged). Your phone does not have to turn itself off, but make sure it is at 1% when you begin to charge it again. This is important only for a few cycles after calibration, afterwards you are free to charge it as you wish, but while calibrating it's highly recommended that you don't interrupt the charging process (4Hrs).

I am using rooted jpd from samfirmware, no fixes except sdcard speed fix, previously it used to give a good battery backup.
And apps do run in background.
Should I set autokill level to high in task killer?
And I will take care of charging.
Thanks for support.
on DDJP2.. getting a horrible backup since i have updated thru KIES. generally on jg6 used to get almost 1.5 days which has come down to 12-16 hours now. trying to calibrate my battery with app 'battery calibration'.. calibrated once.. but still no change. read somewhr that we get the same backup for first few times even after calibrating.. but to get sure i am writing down my process.. plz chk if m doing right or not ..
1. plug in phone with charger
2. wait till 100%.
3. press battery calibration or delete batterystat.bin with the help of root explorer.
4. unplug charger and use it till it discharges completely.
5. charge again to 100%.
plzzzz chk and tell.
plzz someone reply.
I have a question about batery drain. Apps on backgroung are drainning lot of batery? May i have to stop them always?

You need to be aware that wireless services are draining the battery the most. If you are not using 3G - switch it off, same with BT and WIFI. Widgets that update frequently also drain the battery fast, background data, auto sync services/features are battery killers, too.

Thanx for the reply.. i have calibrated once more.. but already showing 80% after hardly 2 hrs.. no clue whats going on... ppl with JP2 shud come up with thr battery backup to get confirmed.

Initial Set Up / Tips &Tricks

My HTC one is due very soon & I am looking for tips and best practice when setting it up for the first time.
For example :
How long should I charge the battery for before first use ?
When transferring data from my old phone to the HTC is it simple to tfr contacts / messages etc accross.
Looking forward to your tips and tricks
Thanks in advance
You should be able to use the phone right out of the box. Most lithium-ion/polymer batteries ship at around 40% charge. These batteries don't suffer from the "memory effect," so you no longer need to practice full-charge and full-drain cycles, as with nickel-based batteries. You should not be completely draining lithium batteries either, as it will reduce your battery life in the long run.
Delete whatsapp, kik or wechat.
The time remaining depends upon how you had used your phone that far. If you keep using your phone excessively that time remaining changes accordingly. It is a forecast. Forecasts change. It isn't a battery meter reader. Only thing you can trust is battery percentage remaining, not time.

Note 4 battery problem after flashing some custom roms

Hi everyone, i have problem with my note 4, battery drops from 11 % to 3% very fast and charges after 85% very slow.. this problems started 2 days ago when i flashed dn5 custom rom i thought it was rom problem and flashed sixperience rom but still i have same issue also i tried battery calibration but again.... what can i do???? and my screen on time is only 3 hour. please help me, thanks.
Have you checked what's eating away at your battery? Settings => Battery (Here you should be able to see if anything is causing a drain).
If the settings screen doesn't seem to show anything, you could try BetterBatteryStats (This app will be able to tell you everything that's going on regarding running processes, wakelocks,... You should give it a day or so from a fully charged battery.)
And if even BBS doesn't show anything, I'd flash the stock firmware again (And check if it isn't the battery).

Well, in all fairness, mine is running CM 12.1, and SOT is a bit under 4hrs. Which isn't fantastic either. Quickcharge does slow down a bit after a certain percentage. You could try a new battery, but might be a waste of money.
I'm afraid I can't help you any further, maybe someone else can.

did u change ur battey? im going to buy anker battery as i know they have good ones
I am facing exactly the same problem .. I don't think buying a new battery will solve this problem.
My mobile is charging by AC very very slow and sometimes it stuck at certain percentage for hours and I tried many things but I am still facing this problem... While recharging if I removed the battery and put it again, the phone shows me that it is 100% while it was not 100% at all.
I wish someone can help us about this problem or if any of u guys tried a new battery and the problem has been solved, so please feed us back in here

well after 3 4 days (i mean after flashing sixperience rom) everything is ok. discharge to 0% then wait and full charge + calibrate battery may fix issue. but still dont like screen on time. only up to 3.5 4 hours
That sounds weard...
I mean the good thing is we could change the battery.
I have a feeling this is not battery issue. it's exynos + apps running on the background. Try to root + disable unnecessary apps (maybe Android 4.4 Would give you higher SOT). I had Note 3 previously and SOT was at the level of around 6 hrs (snap processor) - now on exynos it's around 4 hrs on stock firmware (5.1.1).

battery drain FAST even with screen off

Hey there I have S10+ eu g975f with last firmware OFFICIAL. My battery is draining to fast even with the screen off. I tried to flash again the official firmware but the problem persists to exist.i don't even play games, watching movies or something similar. Just messenger and Instagram.
Last days of the battery usage. In 2 mins of using it or while screen is off is losing like 1-2 percent of ?. What can I do for it ?
Sorry for double posting
Anyone?
I can't see the pictures. But this started a few days ago? Do you have on wifi, bluetooth, location, nfc, etc...? What is your brigthness level? Did you try to reset the device?

Do you use VoLTE? Try to disable it. Facebook and messanger is consuming alot of battery.
And appears you have bad reception. That could explain the battery drain.

Bad reception or low signal drains battery because the phone is actively looking for better signal or closer cell tower if you have 1 bar or 2 bars i would turn off data or switch to wifi if you're home. Another thing also another member above said Facebook and Facebook Messenger are FAMOUS like i mean Arnold Schwarznegger famous for draining the battery in the background because they are constantly doing shady stuff when you're not looking syncing messages or listening to push notifications, also that Instagram looks suspicious as hell, i don't have one but it looks weird in my eyes that it drains so much in less than an hour.
If i was in your place i would uninstall Facebook and FB Messenger and Instagram then charge the phone to 100 before bed and when you wake up you should have about 96% left if it's like 90% or lower then yeah an app is running in the background syncing and won't let your phone go to to sleep and my bet is on those 3 apps Or just turn off Sync from the pull down menu and see what happens, let us know here what you find out good luck

Battery doesn't deteriorate that fast unless you let the battery drain all the way to 0 multiple times. Lithium ion batteries have a finite amount of charges to them, it is best to keep the battery in the range of 20% to 80%.
Download an app called AccuBattery i have the full version you can find out the status of your battery and what's going on with it

Also I have the full version of this application on my smartphone, it's just shows the battery life while having this app in the background but it keeps drain because it consume battery.
I will download it again and see the battery .
Weird cuz after flashing the official firmware nothing changes....

It doesn't show much it's been 2 days but something is killing your battery. I purchased the s10+ Exynos version and haven't done anything to it yet no apps installed just the firmware upgrade to CTF1 June1 security patch and battery is fine here so it must be software related.
Try to find an app called BetterBatteryStats i'm sure you heard of it that app will show you in detail who or what is preventing your phone from going into sleep even system apps are acting up it will show so try that i'm pretty sure an system app is acting up.
In my old days from kitkat and lollipop era the Google play services was always the problem back then.
I forgot also another app Wakelock Detector i don't know if that app is still around that's what i used to find out what was killing my battery on my Note 3 lol

Yeah I would install those apps i mentioned to the guy above to try and trace the cause i'm pretty sure an app or a system app is using wakelock to prevent the phone from going into sleep or deep sleep
Apps that use GPS are common and wifi as well. Lately i've been reading that last firmware update messed up the phone so one step at a time we'll find out who the culprit is
First time I see this popup.
I thought don't needed to run any commands or to be rooted.
Check this out guys. Is it bad ?
Do I need to change my battery ?
