[Q&A] Blisspop for KLTE feedback & Q&A - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
As I am forum n00b and have some small questions, i thought i'd open my thread here. If i need to move, let me know, and i will do so.
I have updated to the latest Blisspop (1.7, 01-12-14 build) and have installed the latest Ktoonsz Kernel (Rocks btw, keep it up dude, my god).
- When will Blissspop have updating from within the rom itself? I love testing the new versions, but i am also not in the mood to reflash and reinstall all my apps/configs on a daly basis.
- I still have the Bluetooth lagging on my wireless headset. Setting profile to performance, or changing the CPU governor settings (bluetooth/media to min 2ghz for example) do not really solve it yet. Just feedback.
- Occasionally I have dialer issues. Every now and again it opens very laggy.
Actually, the only main issue is the well known Bluetooth stuttering. I use a BT headset and I am more than willing to field test it, as i use it daily and update my roms almost daily. All I would need is someone telling me what you would want me testing, and I'm yours.
Keep up the great work guys, really!
Cheers,
Yves
ps: Ktoonsz...you sir, are a robot. My god

pps: It seems the blisspop download section is down at the moment?

BT-Headsets & our ROMs

Hey Guys,
as i feel ignored in dev-threads, i ask you in a separate thread:
Am I the only one experiencing problems with usage of bluetooth-headsets?
at the moment the most stable rom 4 me is SDSL1.2 with old revo-kernel (based on .29) - there i only get random reboots, but it works
with all other kernels i'm not able to hear the other side, but they do hear me ...
does anyone else in gt540-forum use bt-headset daily?
what bt-headset you use?
does it work with miro's ics?
any suggestion how to solve that problem?
btw. i'm using a parrot mki9100 (installed in my car) -> it was very expensive and i would appreciate if my gt540 will perfectly work together
Hi i just replying to the part you said that you feel ignored, not likely the case you may not get replies as we might not know how to reply the question.
OK,
all i can say is:
Miro made new version of SDSL 2.1 with .35 working gr8 and fixed all issues with bt.
i've tested now bt-headset for few hours and it worked gr8, no hangs, no reboots, no problems.

It's a very easy build.prop edit - System - Long Press on Build.prop - Open in text editor - Scroll to the very bottom - Enter - qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Save and exit - Reboot
Just to be clear. If I make that edit it looks like I'll lose function of the hardware keys. How will this edit enable a navigation bar for me?
Data doesn't work. I've used twrp and philz and it continually reboots. Can someone help. I'm us cellular.

Try using latest Test-Build from G+.
TWRP latest Version and dont flash thirdparty Kernel.
When 9.0 gets capasitive light off -option? Otherwise great rom used almost 2weeks without any significant issue.
and video playback comes normal when check dev.options to use awesome player on. Any news when ver.10 comes out?
Has anyone with a regular verizon Note 3 tired this? DO I need to have a DEV phone?
Just curious, downloading now, and I was going to try it... Maybe I dont brick?
Great job guys!
Very good and smooth ROM guys ! Thanks for the great work!
I'm n9005 user with the hlte 9.1 version. I can tell you, the cellular is working just fine and now I can use my NFC functions
But I miss my Samsung dialler, there was settings such as "answer with home key", "The power key end calls" and "flip to mute incoming call ringtone". Is there any hidden options that I can't find ? I'll be very happy if you propose some kind of solution for my case
Thanks in advance!

I have flashed this ROM on T-Mobile note 3. I'm surprise how fast this phone really is now. I'm only having two issues with this ROM. When im on call it seems when I have it over the ear the screen turns off like normal but I'm still able to touch the buttons on the screen with my face. Its really annoying cause I could be opening apps or changing my settings randomly. The second one is battery life. The battery dies way too quickly. Hopefully you guys can solve those two problems. Other then those two problems this ROM is fine.
I only have one feature you guys should add and that double tap to wake .
Hello again, I just want to let you know it is a bit disappointing now. Wen I call someone the screen is blanked but I can still press some random buttons. I'm ending the call with my ear or starting some apps. When I really want to talk I'm using the speaker and the call ends with no reason like I press the "end call". Also the bluetooth cause phone to restart after dialing from the paired device. Some other strange thing is that I can't set the random ring tone to my contacts or groups and I need to use a third party soft.
Will latest Dirty Unicorn, trip knox?
Guys n gals.. have read the whole thread and a few more, will the knox counter trip with an install of Dirty Unicorns rom on N9005 hlte handsets with stock roms?
Thanks in advance
USB 3.0 Problems
Hi good sirs,
Am I the only one experiencing a USB 3.0 problem?
With the stock rom when we plug into a USB 3.0 connector we can change the way it operates on the phone, but, in this rom I've found that for me it is impossible to change it.
Maybe I am just dumb or blind cause I couldn't see that option. Can someone help me?
S Health and Galagy Fit Manager
don't work, in this rom :/ some patch or some lib i think need from samsung rom? ty
Hi,
at first, huge thanks to the devs for this ROM ! It really changed my Note ! But I've a bluetooth issue with it. When I'm playing some music trough my bluetooth speakers, it works fine for 20min or so, and then it goes mute. No way to get the sound back. I've to unpair it, and then pair it again. I had the issue with Google Play Music, Spotify and PocketCast.
It's my first custom ROM on this one, so fresh install, wiped everything.
Bluetooth speakers worked fine with stock ROM, and still work fine with my OnePlus One.
I'll try on some other bluetooth speakers tomorrow if I can find some, but I don't think they are the issue here.
Am I the only one to have this bug ? I searched the forum, someone said he had some kind of bluetooth issue as well, but he was using a recording app, which I don't. Actually, I don't have much app that could interfere as it's my work phone, only minimal stuff there.
Any help ?
Softbuttons
Hey i installed your ROM and im pretty happy with it. I'm one that likes to use soft buttons instead of the hardware buttons. it works like charm but is there a way to deactivate the hardware buttons?
Still no 4K?
Will this rom work on retail verizon note 3 running kk?

How I solved the glitchy audio on CM12 based roms

Hi guys, I've registered on XDA Dev just to write this thread, I want to share with the community this one little thing I found out on my own, compared to what our great developers do for us everyday.
Why am I writing this even though some people solved this issue following the already existing threads and guides? Because every solution I found on the web didn't work for me. I hope this is going to work on your devices as well
Let's start!
Basically I've just installed a custom kernel (in my case I used the @ak kernel) and set the Hysteresis Value to 6 instead of 8, and glitches are way more short and rare. This worked out on my Validus Rom running AK.
I wanted to try these settings because every solution I found was too battery unfriendly, and my screenshot proves that you don't need 2 cores running on a turned off screen. Let me know if it worked for you!

Great ROM!
Beautiful ROM man, I'll be following the development. I'll test out a couple of fixes I found from beta testing my ancient Optimus S.
I posted directly to the blog, but I like following on the forums better
Quickest install I've ever seen.
No problems on NOOP. No lag that I notice.
One question, for the masses or developer. Any thoughts on how to root this sucker? I did the "sustain root" on CWM, I switched the root access on the settings to ADB and app.
Can't figure out how to get root though. Thrown various APKs at it, everyone gets a blocked install (third party apps is enabled too).
Easy root? and minimal Gapps working
Greetings all,
I tested this app package, it's much smaller than the primary app package. Store is working, no errors thrown up. Yet, I've been running for about 30 minutes now, and installed root checker, again, no errors. 5.0 is tested.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330
Just don't like all the goole news, games, and music crap that comes with a full GAPPS package.
Comes from working on the LG Optimus project.
Also, am I going crazy, or did I just switch a toggle and get root access?
Seriously? No ADB, no chinese programming? Just handed me root access like it was nothing?
Friggin awesome.
Camera Fix
I got the camera to work better.
I had to use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera&hl=en
In case this blog block the link, it’s Open Camera by Mark in the play store.
I have working video and pic on the rear camera, and the “selfie” front camera works for picture only. In video mode, It duplicates/tiles video. That’s the only thing.
Other than that, very few problems. Pretty zippy in terms of speed. Course I came from the LG Optimus S, so anything is zippy to me. Noop works good.
Annoying though that it seems to only save nandroid backups to some mysterious "secure" folder. I've looked for it, can't find it. Maybe it's just ROM Manager being a jerk though.
Why haven't you updated the ROM since April 24?
You are alive? Yay!
Very excited for the next build to go up, can't wait! Welcome back!

Me too. It's going up later this morning.
Sweet, looking forward to notifications on my lockscreen. Going to have to swap out the font for the clock though, Roboto looks weird when thin.
Thanks for taking the time to build this for us.
I didn't build this. But be warned, Telephony, bluetooth, camera, and flashlight doesn't work.
Mostly nitpicking, but after about an hour of testing, here's what I found, on 12-20150424:
Telephony requires a two+ rings prior to the other phone ringing at all. May be a carrier issue.
The Location quick setting tile for the notification drawer disappears when accessing the tiles from the lockscreen, at least with a pattern lock. Unaffected are WiFi, mobile data, Bluetooth, tethering/hotspot, airplane mode, rotation control, flashlight, AudioFX, ADB over network, Compass, battery mode, color inversion, LTE
, LiveDisplay, NFC, screen timeout and profiles. (logcat for disappearing tile: pastebin.com backslash 4Ny6rR58)
Compass in said notification drawer does not function correctly, tilting devices does not equal change in heading. i437 hardware issue?
SMS is vulnerable to Stagefright, as expected of pre-August 2015 builds.
Settings > Storage: Overflow menu option 'USB computer connection' activity never starts if phone is not plugged into computer. IMO, should offer options even if not connected.
Cannot remove guest user under Settings > User without first being ON guest account.
Camera findings:
Rear camera 4.9 mp pictures do not preview correctly in camera app, appear as pure gray. Opening files with third-party app resulted in expected photo.
720p rear camera never saves video; must lower resolution to function. In addition, appears R and B channels get swapped in preview.
Beyond those, no complaints so far, and been using this for about two months now. Any bootloops are the result of an improper Xposed installation
(please don't stop making this, it's much fun to poke and prod D:)
WiFi radio not working
Hey guys, so I have a Samsung Galaxy Alpha that I rooted and flashed CM12.1 along with Gapps on to it and it worked fine. Then I flashed my aunt's Samsung Galaxy Light SGH-T399 with CM12.0 too (with Gapps) and again everything worked fine including WiFi except that she had no service from her provider but still could receive calls but neither call nor Message. So I flashed a new radio (SGH-T399N) which I found somewhere in the discussion page and everything worked! She now got service, meaning she could make calls and message too.
Now I flashed my uncle's Samsung Galaxy AT&T SGH-i437 along with Gapps and again, everything worked including Camera (Google Camera not stock). Except the WiFi. When the CyanogenMod set up screen loaded and asked for my preferred language I chose English as always but when the WiFi screen popped up, it simply said "WiFi turning on" but it didn't! For 10 minutes I sat there waiting for it to enable but no such luck. So I skipped ahead to the home screen and I noticed that Mobile Service worked 100% for the phone. So basically, is there a WiFi radio I must flash for the WiFi to turn on? Right now I just downgraded him to CM11 KK 4.4.4 with Nova Launcher and the WiFi is enabled. Thanks in advance!
tl;dr WiFi doesn't turn on SGH-i437, mobile service does. Any radio or something I need to flash?

it was a T-Mobile t-399
Out of curiosity, which version of the rom did you use? I used vanilla.
Secondly, does the rom work when you do not flash the radio?
Thirdly and lastly, you clear the cache, data, dalvik etc before flashing, right?

VoIP not working
Hi
I flashed cm12 yesterday and it works perfectly, thanks a lot!
The only problem I've encountered is that VoIP calls like Skype don't work. I searched the internet for a solution but none of the options I found turned out to work. Do you know how to fix that?
Thanks again

Sorry, but I think it's only going to work in the next CAF build, which will be up tonight
Awesome rom!
I'm really enjoying this rom! I've been using resurrection remix for a little while, but my d803 still has a few issues with that rom.
Your rom however is pretty flawless. The only issues I experienced is that the asop keyboard crashed and would not load on initial boot, so I side loaded the Google keyboard and am only using that and everything is fine.
Also, I rarely use nfc except to pair with my Sony smartwatch2, but it seems like the nfc toggle is missing even after I set it, and I have not been able to find nfc in the settings. Luckily I can pair it with Bluetooth and everything is fine.
Other than that, keep up the great work!
NFC doesn't work
Anyone having issues with NFC? I can't seem to find any posts about it, but NFC is not working on my phone. In fact, it's not even listed in the Settings at all. Any information about this would help. Thanks!
GPS and music visualizer issues
I have updated to the July 9 build, and was not able to find a change log for it.
It's a very stable rom, but I'm having issues with the GPS locking in this build, where as the June 20th build connects a little better, but isn't perfect.
Also if the music visualizer is turned on for the lockscreen, it causes the screen to flicker and become unresponsive and reverts back to the default wallpaper. This was not an issue in the last June build. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
ASOP Keyboard Crash upon install
This is my favorite 5.1.1 rom for the D803, everything is pretty smooth and stable with the last four builds. I'm in the process of updating to the July 13th build and like the two before it the ASOP keyboard is completely unusable. I get around by having a google keyboard.apk in my download folder on my phone and that keyboard works fine. Anyone else experiencing these problems? When I install, I factory reset, I flash the rom and GAPPS and wipe cache/dalvik.
