Something strange with earphones - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I use S3 Neo since 25/12/2014 and I have a little problem with earphones
I didn't use S3 Neo's earphones yet because I have an old pair of earphones that still works but yesterday and a few days ago, when I inserted into this phone it gets bootloop..
Why this?
Now I will try with Samsung earphones and I will post..

no sound without headset

Hey guy...
was always happy with my xperia, till now...
since today my xperia always says that the headset is connected to ist, even when its not...
so the only possibility to phone someone is, to use the headset...
any one any ideas ?!
already made a hard resett... without success..
mymio
this got answered several times
just insert the stylus several times in the 3.5 jack until it unregisters the headphones as disconnected
that seems as another design flaw withe the x1
What about the other way; my X1 doesn't ever see any headphones as plugged in? I tried both my Sennheiser and the little ear buds that came with the phone, and music still comes out of the phone speaker, not the headphones.

Headset Jack broken?

Well.. I've got a problem:
Today I wanted to use my Samsung headset that came with the S2, plugged it in, and the music sounded wierd. Like there was an echo, or if all my music was a karaoke version..
Turns out:
Non-Headset headphones work perfectly, but the "3-ringed-jack" headset does not work! I do not have another headset to test this, but the headset works @my pc (got a connector for that..)
So the 3.5mm jack at my S2 seems to be broken?
I will try a software reset (right now I am @stock rom+root) and then send it to Amazon. Anyone heard of that problem or got some ideas?
Breece
[edit]
Reset didnt help, but the headset does *not* work on my Nexus one (same problem) but my BH905i do not work on both phones with the 3.5mm jack (the one that has "3 rings")
Did you push the pin in far enough?
For 3 weeks I didn't know I had to push it hard into the jack, until it clicks. After that, it was perfect. I'm using Ultimate ears 220vi, 3 ring.
That has to be the pin. you must give it a good press to seat it properly.
The SGS2 headset jack is a bit 'finicky'. Some aux cables / headsets work, some sound funny or do not work and yes, one has to ensure it is really pushed in firmly.
I pushed as if my life depended on it Just last week the headset worked...

Click to collapse
The same thing happened to me, but I noticed ealier.
I re-installed the firmware but nothing seems to help. I guess its hardware..
Will send it back to Amazon today...
Maybe the headset is broken after all, who knows
Just an update:
Has been @ the amazon repair center for two days and apparently something did indeed brake in the hardware... atleast it says on the homepage "being repaired"
Now I hope the S2 will be back soon.. want to flash 2.3.4
Shoot I was just about to ORDER a replacement Audio Jack, until I read the second poster reply. For me, my headset worked only by wiggling the cable around into the audio jack in order to finally hear sound (had do this every single time and was very annoying), the audio did sound distorted and the mic would never work :-(
I personally thought that I inserted the cable in the audio jack as hard I could (after many attempts having this phone for 2 months)
but after reading kaotickelly's reply, I noticed i never EVER heard a click before inserting the cable in the jack throughout many attempts.
So I put my "trying to over protect my phone" ignorance aside, and FORCED the dam thing in, and it clicked!!! not only did I forced it, but I didn't scratch or break phone as i feared, Headset sounded correctly without any distortion and microphone worked!
Unlike Breece, my audio jack now works and I got to UPDATE to 2.3.4! (Don't take it personal)
GOOD-LOOKING OUT KAOTICKELLY!

Headset - Earphone Problem

Hi all...
My daughter has a ZTE Blade that I flashed originally to a custom rom running Froyo... for Xmas she got some new headset in ear headphones (one's with a mic)... The sound through these when plugged into the Blade is similar to listening to music underwater (muffled and echoing).... if you press the mic button the volume increases but is still poor quality. However plug in a normal earphone 3.5 connector (two bands rather than three) and everything sounds fine... I tried the earphones on other phones/computers and there is definitely nothing wrong with them. We also bought a second pair for my other daughter and they were exactly the same, I then tried my supplied Samsung Galaxy SII headset... again same thing... muffled and echoing sound.
So the problem was with the phone.
I decided to re-flash the phone this time with a Gen 2 Cyanogen Gingerbread rom... I tried the audio again after flashing and it seemed to have been fixed (admittedly I only played a track for a few seconds). Over the course of the day my daughter has reinstalled her apps etc... went to listen to some more music and again the same problem... muffled and echoing sound - pop in some normal headphones and everything is fine.
I have searched around and the problem seems to have come up before a few times but no one has really been able to track down what the issue is. I was actuallt thinking it might be app related (Skype or Tango for example) but I have stopped (not uninstalled yet) these apps but it makes no change.
So it seems that the Blade will not work with any wired headset/mic - any idea's please?
I found it wouldn't work with a headset that has a mic on it, but I got it working fine with my £5 jvc gummi headphones although I'm not getting much in the way of sound quality and volume. Still miles better than the stock headphones in the box though
Sent from my ST18i using XDA App
I know this is an old topic but I found the solution and some others may have the same problem:
There are two kinds of connectors, they have ground and mic signal switched.
If you get the wrong one it will work but sound (mostly speech) will be very bad, this results in a very poor audio quality.
So just get the correct ones (Apple-Style) with mic or the ones withour mic will also work fine.

[Q] Weird double sound on bluetooth headphones (BSH555)

I just bought a bluetooth headset and after connecting it with my phone, it sounds weird.. as if i hear things double.... as if the virtual room effect is turned on. When i send a message i would normaly hear "kit", but now i hear "tekit" (which is the closest i can get to explain the sound in writing)
First thing i tried was connecting it to a different device... same problem. I've tried a S4, S3, S3 mini and a Note 10.1... all have that same problem. So first thing to conclude, there is something wrong with the headphones......
But then i tried an iPhone..... it worked fine :/
So it seems to be about the basic way android sends sound to the headphones.. anything i can do?
P.S. these headphones can be connected with a jack, in case it's out of battery. If I do so, sound sounds fine.

Note 4 Headphone Jack Problems

Hey all!
Having some problems with my Note 4 in regards to the headphone jack. Trying to determine if I just need to replace the part or if it could be a software problem.
So I recently purchased a used Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Canadian, Rogers) from my cousin. Before it was given to me, he was using the Beanstalk 5.0 OS. He used an assortment of headphones that gave him no problems (Audio Technica, Bluetooth Beats, no name brands, etc.) except for a pair of apple headphones, which gave him similar problems to the ones I am having along with a constant clicking sound. When I acquired the phone, I reverted it back to Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Basically the phone will either not recognize my headphones after being inserted or will recognize them, then randomly disconnect it (sometimes reconnecting then disconnecting again) even when I do not touch the connected port (no wiggling the wire, rotating it, etc). I have tried different headphones and have the same problem with each of them.
Trying to figure out if just flat out replacing the headphone jack will do the trick or if TouchWiz is causing some problems since my cousin seemed to have a relatively consistent experience when using a Custom OS. I feel like the headphone jack should be working regardless of the OS? But I'm not an expert by any means .
Any help would be amazing, thanks!
