I have the same problem, I tried to reinstall recovery, reinstall rom, baseband, bootloader, but I always get the same result.
But it's always a hope, if you try a lot of times to enter into recovery, and if you're lucky, you will get access to partitions, for example, I have to reboot into recovery for 20 to 30 times, and I get access to partitions in 1 of that 20 or 30 attempt. In that attempt that I got access to partitions I installed a custom rom, just try a lot of times, you're going to be lucky in one, it's all that you need :good:

stuck at samsung logo

I went to replace framework-res.apk, and now it wont go past samsung logo, please tell me I didn't brick my phone?
Please Help [email protected][email protected]!
What did you flash?, theme kernel? Be specific
I went to flash some circular battery mod, and then it crashed and won't boot.
Never mind. Do you have cwm installed? if so, flash a rom that matches the one you are on. That'll fix that issue. Next time don't flash something that isn't for the rom version that you are on.
Specifially I renamed it framework-re.apk.bak, and then about to replace it it won't boot.
Which rom version are you on? DL09? DJ05? DI01?
Dont have cwm installed, did it through root explorer.
You probably flashed a file that wasn't compatible with our phone, or isn't compatible with the ROM you're running (DI01 mod on DJ05/DL09). Reflash the ROM you're running and it should fix the problem.
Just flash the rom that you are on again.
So there's no way out? I have to loose all my data?
Also next time flash a theme that it's compatible to your rom version.
You don't have to wipe!
you can flash dj05 theme on top of dl09, but remember to flash the dl09 theme fix.

If you flash the same rom you're on now, you don't have to wipe data.
I'm going to win imnuts...
But doesn't odin delete all data?

By any chance, did you make a backup of your old framework-res.apk?
And what version are you on? DI01, DJ05, DL09?
If you have Clockwork, you can use ADB to push a new framework to your phone. Just reboot into recovery, connect to your computer and open up a command prompt (on Windows):
adb push framework-res.apk system/framework/framework-re
Here's mostly stock versions of the framework:
DI01
DJ05/DL09 (works for either, but you have to rename to framework-res.apk)
The only difference in these is that I did my own little battery mod:

If you had a theme installed, this will probably screw it up, reverting most stuff back to stock, but hopefully it'll at least get you booting again.
If I reboot into normal samsung recovery will adb work?
I am just gonna reflash with odin..........

Not sure if ADB works with the stock recovery, I'm using a Voodoo kernel, so the stock recovery is gone.
But if you're flashing with Odin, you could just flash Clockwork recovery and then boot to it and use ADB. Might as well get Clockwork on your phone... with a backup, you could have been back up in just a few minutes.
Wow, this is a fascinating thread with so much confusion.

Help with error flashing system

Hi all, well I think I have all but fubarred my 16gb shield tv. I unlocked bootloader, installed twrp and rooted, all was working fine. Then I decided to flash the full android rom that is on the forum . before doing so, i used twrp and made a backup. I installed the full android rom, although it seemed to work fine, i was not crazy about it and decided to go back to the original OS, so I booted up in twrp and went to the restore function, there were no backups to restore , I guess when I installed the system img for the full android it erased my backup somehow. anyway, moving right along, I next went to nvidia website and downloaded the restore image for the 16gb shield tv, i booted in to bootloader and was following the instructions to restore the shield. all seems to go fine until I try to flash the system img, then I get the error "invalid sparse file format at unknown block 0000" it tries to continue but fails, afterwards the system will not boot at all, I can get back to twrp recovery an flash the full android rom just fine, but am not able to flash back the original os without that error. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am stuck at this point as what to attempt next. thanks
Here is an image of the error I get, I am no longer able to write to the system partition,

Just going to go out on limb here, but are you sure the downloaded image isn't corrupted? You could try to download it again, if available do a MD5 hash check to verify it downloaded correctly and then retry flashing it.

Custom Recovery?

Are there any custom recoveries out there for our s7 edge t mobile? I have it rooted now but are there any recoveries? I have been searching and had no luck.
Nope
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No there arent. To flash stuff you need to download flashfire from the play store. It works just like twrp but it's a app. When you want to flash something you will select the plus sign in the bottom right corner and select zip. It's super easy to use
Thought i had found a recovery for some odd reason, and it was def. Exynos twrp. There a way to flash the stock recovery img? Im thinking of flashing through flashfire but im afraid after flashing it actually wouldnt wipe since there seems to be no recovery, only a download mode menu, whilst saying recovery booting.

I personally haven't tried but if you want to risk bricking go for it. If it's any comfort, I doubt anything will happen. Worse case scenario is that it installs, you trip Knox and unable to mount the system partition and won't be able to boot it up. But even then... Odin should still be possible. But again... I wouldn't risk it. I'm fairly sure that it's been tried. There is a QC version of the recovery somewhere that never worked via Odin back in June or so.
I personally was the first to attempt flashing twrp via flashfire. it will not work. DM-Verity kicks in and will not allow it to load. you get a BRIEF flicker of twrp loading up and it loads the failed integrity check. the good news was i was able to flash the stock files and got it loading again with no KNOX trip or errors.

I guess you are on Marshmallow.
In TWRP 6.0.1 thread you can read this:
NOTE : For some reasons twrp gets replaced back with the stock recovery if we left the device to reboot into system after flashing. To overcome this issue untick the Auto Reboot from the options in Odin and flash the recovery by following the above steps. Now right after flashing is done, power off the device and power it on by holding [ VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER] to enter into the recovery and 'swipe to allow modifications'.

In Odin untick "auto-reboot" before flashing, having the file selected. This will prevent a bug that makes the stock recovery re flash over the custom one..

It's not a bug.
It's an intended feature to ensure that the Recovery partition has a working stock recovery.

LineageOS update gone wrong

Hi,
Using a Note3 LTE version. 9005. Tried to update with TWRP ver 2.8.7. Did not work. Tried to flash 3.3.0 TWRP image, now phone only goes in these two modes after removing the SD card:

and this
The flash was on the SD card. Card removed now. Any ideas how to fix this?
Can you perform fastboot commands?
Wait just flash a rom with odin then go back into bootloader and flash twrp.

How do I mark the best answer?
I've installed the LOS, got it working but no gapp apps. So tried to flash TWRP again, but it always boots to the LOS 18 recovery and not TWRP. Now going back to Note3 stock. There must be something I'm doing wrong somewhere.

Before you flash the recovery, untick the Auto Reboot option in ODIN. Then flash the recovery. After flashing in done, reboot your device directly to recovery mode from download mode by pressing Vol up + Power + Home button together. Now you will see the TWRP recovery is booted in your device. Now you can reboot normally and your TWRP will be installed.
