LG G2 battery drain - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody! I have very anoying problem with my LG G2 (stock 4.4.2) Every night when i fall asleep it drains about 10% for 7-8hours overnight. I tried everything - turned off wifi and mobile data , KNOCK On/OFF and it still drain 10% . In the battery setting it shows that all the drain is from Cell Standby , so the next night i charged the phone to 100% and switched to air-plane mode + everything turned off and the phone still drain 9%-10%-11% for 8hrs no-useage. After airplane mode the battery show that "Phone idle" drain the battery.
PLEASE HELP ?

Download and Install BetterBatteryStats.
Once installed properly, charge your phone 100%, then unplug and leave it on over night. DO NOT USE IT DURING THE NIGHT.
The next morning, grab your "since unplugged" logcat from the application and post it into the thread and ask nicely for it to be reviewed, or you could review it yourself and use the GUI to see which resources are hogging the most battery.
It's a very user friendly application.

Battery drain while sleeping

Hello
I have a samsung s4 i9500 new phone about 4 months old. I encoutered many battery problems so i installed Arrow rom, which i fell in love with it in a sec, it had everything and the battery life was just amazing. (Thanks to all who contributed into making this amazing rom).
But something happened when i installed an app about adds and it kinda restored my phone yo factory settings, i didnt care much for the reset, but i found out that my battery life ia no longer like before. Let me give you my states before and after.
Ps: i reinstalled the rom hoping better resulta but it was the same
I sleep usually at 1pm and wake up at 10. Thats 9 hours, when my phone was fine it only drained about 10% or 12%.
But as in for today for example, i slept 7 hours and it drained 20%.
Most of the draining came from android oa at 89%.
Please note that before i go to sleep i always charge my phone to 100%
Is there something wrong? Ill do any test to solve mu problem.
Thanks all

Hi.
U should install BBS app and post "other" and "partial wakelocks" screenshots so that we can tell what's eating up yr battery life.
Cheers.
deep sleep!
Yeah BBS is definitely the way to go..also you might want to check skipjack's awesome thread for better batt life when idle (insanely )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417
I got better batt life with my s4 after i did some of their tips on this thread..
Sweetdreams to your phone's battery! ))
I have attached my files, btw the battery is kinda weird, one day it drained about 40% but somedays drains way less, keep in mind that when i go to sleep i turn off my wifi and use edge network, and power savor too.
Some solutions that I follow that kind of stopped severe battery drain and got the phone in deep sleep mode:
- Disable "Scanning Always Available" from Advanced settings of WiFi
- Disable GPS and 'Use Wireless Networks' from Location settings menu
- Greenify apps and a few services
- Before putting the phone down for good, clear all the recently opened apps by pressing and holding the HOME button and clearing them all. Then open up the task manager and clear RAM.
- To get the phone into deep sleep (you can monitor this using a free app called WakeLock detector, available on PlayStore), if you have the habit of switching on the screen and then switching it off whilst being in the lockscreen mode (just like you check time quickly without unlocking the device), the S4 DOES NOT go into deep sleep mode even though the screen is switched off.
To solve this, you need to unlock the screen, get to homescreen and switch off screen from there instead of directly locking/switching off the screen without unlocking the device. Yes, it's hell and I don't know why this issue persists :/

[BUG] Galaxy S4 super draining battery

Hi guys. Since last week my Galaxy s4's battery is getting empty very quickly.
In config > Battery I get this results (last night it was in airplane mode)
From 100% - 58% in 4 hours (in airplane mode)
GPSD 48%
Anfroid OS 26%
Inactive 17%
Android system 6%
Google Play services 2%
I've already tried restoring to factory values but nothing happened.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Hi mate ,
First thing we need to do to find out who is keeping your phone awake is using an app like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Let it run for a few hours and then check the logs,,,there is the information needed.
meanwhile check you settings , google locations , wheather apps , Maps ( huge battery hog)...

Hi mate,
GPSD wakelock ( and L2_hsic) may be caused by an unstable network , try setting the network mode to wcdma only not to auto connect , try a different modem to see if you get a better signal response..review the settings in your apps like google location , maps , FB
Check this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878828
Check your fast dormancy setting , turn it off

your battery need to be re-calibrated.
to do it follow my steps and your battery should be fine again.
charge your phone to 100%
use it till the phone shuts down (dont overuse it use it normally as you use daily)
now charge the phone till 100% without using it
repeat the procedure 2-3 times and now you have brand new battery
Hi guys! Thanks for helping me. I've what you recommended me to do but I couldn't achieve to fix the problem. I didn't try to disable fast dormancy because the procedure required to grant root access and I don't want to void the warranty unless it's the only way.
Before you experienced this draining, was battery life good or was the draining slowly getting worse and worse?

The battery was working fine before this. It happened from one day to the other.-
I've found a partial solution to fix the problem. I changed the network mode from wcdma to GSM only and the reboot. Look at the screenshots after

Hi,
you could try to flash a new baseband, which can improve your signal strength. It's only strange that your problem appeared from one day to the other, but I think it would be worth a try anyway

[Q] Help! Unusual battery draining...

Hi Guys, does anyone of you felt something unusual battery drain even in hibernated mode?
I monitored my phone for about 5days, but the unusual draining starts for about 7days from now...
I charged my phone 1AM last night to 100% and Hibernated using greenify, and woke up at 4:49 just to pee after that, I've checked my phone's battery percent and I expect that it's in 95%-96% in normal because it's in hibernate but it's in 89%. After that I turn it to hibernation again and sleep... I woke up 7am and check it right away, and it's in 83% in Hibernation mode :crying:...
I don't know what exactly is the application who's draining the battery but in a fast few weeks I did not Installed anything new apps...
anyone know about this?
The phone is rooted, method by mohan
no custom recovery(but I have still a Auto boot recovery problem)
Advance thanks for you concern and reply...

yes, if you are on mobile data probably "mobile radio active" ruins it like mine does, check it on stats, phone never sleep even sync is off. flash 4.4.4 and see the difference.
Since the topic is the same, I add two screenshots of my Nexus 4 with fu**ing 5.1.1 LMY
It's not normal, if you see last steep descent it's a simple half an hour with WiFi web browsing! The phone reached 43°!!!
I also checked with Better Battery Stats and nothing shows up, that's nothing that drains battery. I'm desperate! :crying::crying::crying:
Same here as well.
8% down in 1 hour, thanks to play services.

Before I paid for a new battery Id probably factory reset and see if it continues. Id also install accubattery from playstore. Youve got to let the app measure your battery health for 24 hours. Itll tell you how much battery capacity you have left (degradation)
But based on your observations, I'm not sure you need a new battery. Do you always let it run so low?

hello,
I'm Italian.
Same problem for me since a week for my S7.
But I done the last update few monts ago (Android Nougat).
What we have to do?
Try an app called Advanced Repair Battery Life. You can find it on Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mocamocaapps.advancedbatteryliferepair
Once installed, open the app and hit 'repair' and wait until the process is finished. Once finished, reboot your phone and see what happens.
I've used on my father's Sony device and it seems to work.
hello, an update.
without factory reset, without app.
On Monday, the battery is crashed from 14% to 1% in few seconds. Then a notification prompted me to correct the anomalous consumption of an app (it was whatsapp). I correct it and the it is remained turned on for 2 hour and half (without using) at 1%. Then it goes in auto turn off. Then I turned on and I wait that it goes in auto turn off. Then I plugged and I loaded battery to 100%. I think this procedure is called calibration.
The next days battery is not crashed, it has normal consumaption.
Today I will monitor what will happen.
thanks
Hi guys!
I got the same battery issues here.
Noted 2 days ago, it was at 15% remaining, talked 1 minute with my colleague and the S7 was turned off. Tried to turn it on, the battery was 0%, plugged in and recharged for a while.
Yesterday the same, at 15% turned off, then I monitored it and around 5/7% it switches off on its own.
From 15 to 5/7% goes very fast, in 1/2 minutes and not more. In this situation on the right side it becomes very hot.
I experienced a similar situation with my Galaxy Tab S, the screen was flickering and overheating issues with looping reboots. Solved by an unplug/replug of the internal battery.
I'm very worried about my S7E!
Just for note, I use Quick Charge very often and a magnetic support for car use.

Yesterday evening the same on my device. Spotify prompted as anomalous consumption, corrected and the drain stopped for a while.
Opened Tapatalk and here we go again with the fast running out. Hope that will be better right now.
Installed accubattery app, my battery has 72% of health.
