Nik Project X v4.1 Best Sense 4 Rom so far

This newly uploaded sense 4 Rom worth trying and use as daily driver.
Really fast and smooth.
Finally a sense 4 Rom with working camera in 8mpix and without flash.

Anyone has tried this rom and give some user review here.

I'm already on s4 using Neo rom for my daily driver, but going to try this one also, i see very good feedback

Very goog rom
It's one of the best Sense 4 rom I've tested.
Camcorder and camera are full functionable, bat is good, sense is smooth.
The only things is that it's not a full sense 4 rom. Location is not complete, some widgets are not available...

The only lack is the r/w mount system that not ok . Without it, I can't use oc daemon, adblock etc...

Blackout v3 is based on Sense 3.6, though you may mean something else by based on. burst mode works on Virtuous Infinity though it clicks more than it takes pictures. It still works. =) Dunno if that is something you have to have to have. If so VI may be worth a look.

Change from Sabsa v3 to this rom with V6 script and i'm happy with it.... smooth and fast....

I tried Nik Project X v4.1 ROM and its great but i have two problems...
two time in ten days of use my lock ring is stuck..not responding and one time after restart i have grafic glitch...leathers and icons was not readible.
Otherwise great rom.:good:
Change to Sabsa and i see no difrence but Nik ProjecktX i like better.
Now using XxXPachaXxX NERO XL Rom (no bugs so far)

I love this rom because of JB animations, only think that doesn't work for me is WiFi tethering.

Hi guys today I present to you a lightweight version of OmniROM 4.4.4 for our beloved A500. This version of the rom has lots of bloatware removed and is very snappy and fast. So I hope you guys will try out and give your feedback thank you!

Instructions:
1. It is recommended that you use CWM 6.0.4.5 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583710 to flash this rom.
2. Download SuperSU from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu/ and put it on your device.
3. Now flash the rom and SuperSU zip and GApps in recovery. (Seems like there is a problem when using gapps on tegra 2 devices. I personally think that the only important thing in gapps is the play store and play store was automatically installed with omnirom and i did not even flash gapps. Can anyone try not flashing gapps and getting back to me if play store is there???)
4. Now format cache and dalvik cache. If you are coming from another rom or another android version please format data.
5. Reboot and profit!

Home button doesn't seem to work. Can't really do anything it just is a generic launcher.. Too many features on here, can't get into settings to even turn on the wifi. Now I used twrp to flash this so do you think that might be a problem? It seemed to flash okay but would not flash the Su zip..

Thank you for the feedback. I have updated the thread to include GApps. And yeah you have to flash this rom with CWM.

I think it would be wise to note that a KK compatible recovery will flash it properly, others may or may not. After downloading, I'm quite pleased with it. The custom launcher is (in this user's opinion) far better then the default launcher included with KK. This port of Omni doesn't have some of the bugs I've noticed in my other Omni port but this one does seem to have a few minor setup issues.
Issues:
Setup wizard opens to a blank screen and the back arrow must be used to get to the actual setup window.
Name setup in the wizard always leads to a crash unless both fields are empty.
Other then that, I can't see any other bugs off hand. This post was made in this port, BTW. :laugh:

Would using a different gapps (gapps minimal 4.4.2) make the calendar not want to sync?

But it would be better if you used CWM 6.0.4.5 which i posted 6 months earlier. And for calendar problems that is because i excluded it from the rom you can download the calendar (there are two apks) from the link i posted and put them into the system/app folder

That seems to be the only issue I have found so far..

Ok installed calendar apk, and the calendar storage..the calendar storage crashes saying calendar not available.. Calendar won't open. When storage is uninstalled the calendar opens fine but still won't sync. Google doesn't seem to sync all the way, shows sync error.

Had to adjust the minimum speed to 312 for the CPU in the performance of options due to the crackling in the audio sounds great now.

Also had issues with the SU zip..didn't want to install, said failed. But it might not been because no used TWRP to flash..I installed another one I had saved on my sd and that worked..just the calendar so far is the only issue affecting me so far..awesome work!! Can't believe this thing is still kicking.

yes, you can download TWRP manager from playstore..but it never really installed it for me correctly.. i wish it was a flashable zip..same for cwm. seems we have flash them both in a more complex manor, which im not familiar with.

From their post, there's this TWRP v2.6.3.0, then I went to download goomanager on store. I think using the fastboot to flash is simple enough and straight forward for me. I just put the CWM 6.0.5.4 onto my A500 too, but I found the touch interface of TWRP easier to use. I use TWRP on my phone too, so I get used to that. For CWM, you'll have to use the volume to navigate.
I'm still on the stock ROM though, 4.03, and it has freeze problem. In all kind of apps, it'll suddenly stuck and not responding at all. In the TWRP when I select format, there're choices as format cache, I remember someone mentioned some corruption on A500, so I just did clear two cache areas, I'll see how's going.

W8 variants there is a slight issue
I have temporarily removed multi variant support.
I'm working on adding w8 to the support list.

BNL 9 should not be an issue but updating the bootloader with newer releases is always a good practice, and if the bootloader will add any restrictions I will say so

sound boost is really nothing, there is no quality loss, I have only included the lite version, see the sound boost thread but I will remove it in the next version so that whoever want can flash that separately.

Actually i would like to explain you what happened me when i installed your rom name : [ROM][SM-G900F/K/L/S/W8/I/T/] JoelDroid S5 [V 2.0 XXU1BOA3][Updated 17 Jan 2015] on W8 Variant Samsung GS 5. Now i could see as of today you changed the name for support only to F variant and updated to 2.0.1 from 2.0.
I installed through TWRP recovery and right after installing the ROM failed to boot stuck on main Samsung logo. Apparently i figured boot loader problem but unfortunately i could not find any boot loader modem for w8 on web which made me very sad. Then came to my mind and i flashed Ktoneez Kernel for Andriod 5.0 right after flashing rom and it really worked and ROM booted and brought me to Welcome screen in just 60 seconds...which was very fast as compared to other Roms with lollipop i have tried. But still having to correct Modem in ROM i was unable to get network and it was switching from signal to No signal.
It worked all fine except this problem, I was very very sad with this. I made ROM to boot anyhow successfully but signal problem so i reverted back to 4.4.2
TWO THINGS
1. Can you help mw with correct modem for W8 ?
2. Can we stick to basic stock kernel android 5.0 instead of using Ktoneez Kernel? Get the right Boot-loader for W8?
Please advice and do send me info regarding test and lets get started.

Great work with bringing Lollipop to the S5 with Samsung functionality. Think I have found the ROM for me
I am on JoelDroid 2.0.1 on a G900F (BOA3) but I use logcat for app developing in Android Studio. How do I re-enable it?
I have tried editing the build.prop file and rebuilding the rom in android kitchen 0.224 but I can't flash the new rom.

Easy you have a root browser I suppose.
Goto system/etc/init.d/and delete 98logcat file and reboot. logcat is back

Hey, thank you for your help!
I was browsing trough the volume booster thread, and saw that someone asked if they could just go to mixer paths and lower the volume limit, because the soft booster increases only by 4 digits. So I went to mixer paths and from 87, I cut it down to 83.
Can I still flash the original file, just to be sure that everything's back to stock?

Question. If I go from wifi zone to no wifi zone my data won't connect. I have to turn off data and back on. Have it on all lollipop roms.
Somebody else this issue?

S pen works but it's limited like in all cm/aosp Build's.
No bug's so far,camera,video,data,WiFi,Bluetooth ect all working fine out the box. It's a cm based rom so bug will be similar.

Is there any progress on getting Finger Print Scanner option available on this ? Although Rom is pretty cool.
Had System Ui Crash error on toggling WiFi option from pull down notification toggles.

WiFi toggle on/off and push hold works fine this end with no fc. Finger print scanner no, not with lollipop sorry.

I wanna install this rom but I wanna use my s pen 2......is there any way I can make my s pen work in terms like taking screen shot or screen writing etc

From playstore, Samsung post memo and sketchbook work very well but takingba ss I'm not sure about.

won't matter what bootloader or modem your currently on, as long as u perform full wipe ; dalvik/data/system/cache it should install on 910g, and make sure to check md5 ?

Yes I agree with you 100%!!! The RR ROM is totally awesome!
I've been using RR since the Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, S5 and now my wonderful Galaxy Note 4.
To let everyone know...this is the smoothest ROM out there and I am now very happy after all the others I've tried!

bugs in the rom
hello i have been using it from past 2 days the rom is good and stable but have faced few issues .
1- whatsapp and facebook notification count on the icons are missing.
2-force close of keyboard some times. hoping for a fix

Try performing a full wipe , dalvik, system, data, cache and internal memory and re installing

Compass not working.
Hi, Just wanted to ask about the compass, It doesn't work. I've tried both Temasek's CM12.1 and this RR 5.5.0 on my Note 4 and found that compass does not work in either ROM, but does work on stock. Can this be fixed? It's odd because I still use my Galaxy S2 with RR 5.5.0 and CM12.1S and the compass works fine on that device.

What do you mean by compass? That's toggle in pulldown or something else?

How To Install:-
Wipe Cache,Dalvik,Data,System and Vendor.(No need to wipe Internal Storage)
Flash latest china beta firmware for good battery and deep sleep(Optional)
Flash the rom package
Reboot
Gapps is not needed to be flashed.
Note:-First boot may take 4-5 minutes.

No such problems here. Try clean flash again.

No issues no as I flashed the headset fixer zip via magisk.thanks anyway for such an amazing port of an amazing rom

Rom is not smooth as miui, I'm uninstalled today. And flashback to miui pro. Hope a not laggy rom will come for our device

ignore my question, i'll fix it xd

Everything works fine except tat ambient display and lockscreen gestures........ But little bit laggy can be fixed with kernel auditor
Camera working absolutely fine

Settings Keeps crashing!!!
This is the message that is being displayed after the first and every boot!! I have done all the clears except internal storage still it is displaying the same and this cannot be minimized also!! Kindly help me with this issue

Its only once during every boot. It shouldn't be a problem
