[Q] Help changing APN on Sprint GS5. - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Sprint GS5 that is both unlocked and I have an MSL code. The phone is not rooted. I have been trying to change the APN for adblock plus on data network. Currently the settings are greyed out and I cannot create/delete/modify the APN. Is there a way to do this without rooting? I have seen many people ask this question before but no solutions work.

[Q] Problem with data on sim unlocked galaxy s5

I paid to get a T-mobile galaxy s5 sim unlocked so that I could use it on At&t. I'm located in the US. I took the sim out of another non-functioning at&t galaxy s5 and put it in the t-mobile one. The sim unlock code was successful, and ever since then my calls and texts have been working just fine. However, the mobile data connection is not working and I cannot seem to ascertain why this may be. I have tried scanning for networks and automatic network selection through the settings --> more networks --> Network operators menu. Mobile data is enabled. I have a data plan through at&t. Wi-fi still works. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping that rooting the phone may help the issue, but I am new to this concept. As I have gathered, only certain models of s5 can be rooted as of yet, and I did not find a thread on rooting the G900T model for the s5's. Thanks for any help!
I think you must set the APN from Setting. Ask the AT&T providet for the APN.

Verizon Galaxy S5 APN settings greyed out.

I have looked all over the forum for a reliable answer but have not found one. I have a Verizon Galaxy S5 that I am running on the Straight Talk Verizon 4G network. I would like to change the APN settings to reflect the Straight Talk settings rather than the Verizon settings but everything about the APN settings is greyed out and nothing can be changed or added. The + sign is also greyed out which does not allow me to enter a new APN. I am running Lollipop OS on the phone.
Any help on solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
The straight talk service uses the verizon towers because you have a verizon sim, i dont understand what you mean by reflect the straight talk settings? Just curious what you're trying to do because I have APN issues on certain roms and someone just helped me to where i was able to get the right settings....

Question about root and cross carrier phone activation

Long story short, I have an unlocked, rooted, att s7 edge that I'm trying to activate on Verizon and isn't going through.
Is it possible that the root or stock att rom is preventing the phone from activating on the network?
Tinkering in the APN settings I've gotten the mobile data to work properly with the sim in but can't activate the phone at all.
Any help is appreciated!

Sprint LG V20 hotspot and SIM unlock for non-rooted phones

Has anyone tried this guide? https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g5/how-to/guide-gsm-unlock-sprint-lg-g5-t3574819
I am able to get to the menu and see the same options. Also I can get to the APN and change APN type from default, mms to default, mms, dun
i have tethering included in my plan so i cannot check if it works, but i think it should if someone wants to give it a try.
I do not have a non-sprint SIM to try the GSM unlock either.

Issue deleting T-Mobile APN and adding a new one

I have an old On5 that I rooted several years ago. I just got I an S10 and transferred my On5's plan and number over to it. Wanting to use the On5 as a backup phone, I bought a cheap, supposedly T-Mobile compatible $5 SpeedTalk pay-as-you-go sim card for the On5 and managed to get it activated online. The phone recognizes the activation, but SpeedTalk requires using it's own APN.
My problem is the 'T-Mobile US LTE' APN is fixed. In 'Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > T-Mobile US LTE > More' the settings are all grayed out and 'Discard' option does not respond to deleting the APN. I can add a new SpeedTalk APN, but I can't set it as default. Searching the forums on this only came up with an old related issue, but nothing specifically on a locked T-Mobile APN like this.
Would anyone know if this can be hacked or reset to new APN?
If it helps anyone, I found a post in the forums here that solved the problem by going to mobile networks/network operators/default setup and choosing manual before attempting to add a different apn. Also had to disable 'Select Automatically'
