Successor of Z3 TC - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact General

Hey do you think a successor of the Z3 TC will be unveiled at mwc 2015 or maybe CES 2015? I hope Sony would use a waterproof and uncovered usb charging port as it would really be a benefit especially for those who frequently use their usb port for otg and quick charging.

So the rumors say -> htxp://www.gizmobolt.com/2014/12/13/xperia-z4-ultra-xperia-z4-compact-full-specifications-leaked-allegedly/
I'll be waiting a little longer before I buy I must say.

Oh it's smaller. I wish they make another z4 tablet compact. I prefer at least 7 or 8 inch for ebook reading

Rumors say there will be a Z4 Compact Tablet too.

Seeing how the Z3 TC was released not too long ago, my guess is, they'll just make a Z4 tablet to update the bigger Z2, and keep the 8" to Z3 for now.

Which is the last phone you had prior to the XPlay?

I am the recent buyer of a new Xperia Play, and I'm doing my research before getting it here in order to be ready to unlock its bootloaders and root it ASAP (I even know now that you don't need to touch the bootloaders for root, but you know what I mean ). The matter is, the peculiarities of this phone may be a bit hard to understand for people who come from other phones. I think it'd be a good idea to get a feeling about which phones we come from, so to say.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S which I will sell once I have my Xperia.

The Xperia Play has kinda cornered a market.
All Android phones run the same stuff. But the Xperia Play can control them better.
Unless you want a slimmer phone, or 1080p recording, or 12mp camera. Why buy another Android phone?
The Xperia Play will likely play all Tegra 2 games fairly well. Especially since you will be able to overclock the Play to nearly 2ghz fairly soon.

Jump "back"? You did own Note 2 previously then? Why'd you ditch it at all in the first place?
Welcome back anywho
I tried the experia z as well..
Although I loved the crisp screen the battery life was just awful compared to the note. I think I will stick with my new note II for a while and wait until the next generations of hardware.

yes i did but sold it few weeks back as i was getting the xperia z at a tempting price since the seller had just used it for a week but sumhow was missing that bulk handset in my hand hahaha !!!
Yes. Before the note I thought the size was just ridiculous. Now even "big" phones like the s3 and nexus 4 look too small.

Actually it's not idiotic, people love to get new phones and I would like to swap it for a week. But I wouldn't have it for a long time since the screen is way to small. But I wouldn't be mad if I got one. As there is much awesome features in Xperia that I like but Samsung doesn't have. But the feature way I think Samsung is better. But I would definitely like to use Xperia Z due to it wouldn't be boring to get another phone to play around with
Also about customisation they got some themes standard. And I think it's sad that Samsung doesn't have that. I like to customize my phone and change the look. HTC is one of those who actually is one step forward but they got too few themes but it changes even the notifications and pull down bar. Sony just change the icons and menu background. But what can we change from Samsung? We need 3rd party apps to change what we want. It's a bit of a shame.
I can't call it idiotic to swap the note ii to Xperia Z it's all about what you want to do with your phone.
So your comment is idiotic no matter what people will one day be tired of their current device but they maybe not be able to change. I'll wait for note iii or ill change to galaxy mega as its a cool phone/tablet

I simply miss all those motion features on xperia z, the one i simply luvd and crave for is swipe the palm to capture screen then the led notification light which shld b pretty standard for a handset ,the one on xperia is pretty tiny and a lil buggy last.but nt the least i find note pretty user friendly.

Got to borrow a Z for four days a while back to try out LTE in another city. Atrocious screen (Seriously terrible), poor battery life, bad camera, & broken software. Shame, as I love Sony's industrial design, and their approach to Android skinning is rather nice. Keep wanting them to make something great, they get close at times but the basics are all wrong.
Note keeps on being fantastic.

All the reviews are saying that the HTC One is the best phone out there right now, but don't let them trick you like they did me with the HTC One X.

Google Edition Xperia Z?

Looks like Sony is also making a stock android based phone and probably sold on google play store.
http://www.android.gs/sony-planning-xperia-z-google-edition-says-insider/
"The Sony Xperia Z Google Edition will most likely come pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, unless Google changes its mind and launches Android 4.3 Jelly Bean by the time the handset is officially announced."
- so 4.3 possibly around the corner for us...
"Since the infrared port has been disabled for both the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One Google Edition, we aren’t expecting the Xperia Z Google Edition to sport this feature. Anyway, the infrared support can be restored with a simple mod.?
-They putting the ir blaster back on the google Z models?
Sweet.
Fingers crossed
if it was toward american buyers, it wont be really interesting
all android phone should be google edition IMO

it this is true, i wonder if it'll be the C6602 or the long awaited C6606. How does sony plan on selling this if it is the c6602, the other GE phones will have LTE. Will there be any other hardware changes like snapdragon 600, IPS display.
Looks like Android Central have "confirmed" it through their sources

I partially agree with you.
But maybe we could have always the official option to have AOSP in our phones, not that all of them would come with it preinstalled.
Choice is always better

I agree. Instead of selling different editions, Sony should just add an option in its PC Companion or Update Service software to switch between "Sony Edition" and "Google Edition" firmwares.

Actually, I think the difference is that the Google Edition has an unlocked bootloader. It seems from my experience on Verizon that carriers are not excited about selling devices with unlocked bootloaders, hence being sold by Google. I am definitely getting the Google Edition, but will at least try out the Sony software if it is available for the Google Edition. I am worried that it won't be available, because I have heard on the regular phones, when the bootloader is unlocked all the DRM keys go up in smoke...

Previously this was the issue, however with DevShaft creating the TA backup you can unlock the bootloader and still restore the DRM keys if you want to return to a locked bootloader. In turn keeping the warranty

Made the decision today to switch back to my Nexus 4. I much prefer the stock Android experience and non of the ROMs currently available can compare to the N4 and how smooth it is. The XZ just needs some time to mature (and if this is legit, it will definitely contribute to that). Until then though, my XZ will be spending some quality time with the other devices in my drawer. I'll be missing the camera on it, but right now it's really the only thing I'll be missing. I can live with that.

^ expected next month though PH pro'lly get it may-jun. expansys-ph has it on their "coming soon" section already. i've seen the z1 compact on kimstore, cmk & expansys-ph. btw, that language is technically not allowed here, bro
i'm thinking of getting the z2 as well to replace the one on my sig, especially if globe offers this on postpaid. but for me, it's really a toss up between this and the oppo find 7 qhd version - similarly spec'd but bigger (and pro'lly better) screen and a bit more cheaper for the US$599 price tag at launch
Xperia Z1 Compact is now available on Xperia stores. Just saw it yesterday in Megamall.

Originally thought I was going to get to the New HTC One but after realizing they didn't really upgrade the camera that's not going to happen. Just got it (used), upgrading from an LG Optimus G
The only reason I upgraded was because of the water resistance, so I don't expect to change in the near future. Performance wyze, the LG OG was already prety good, it's just that LG sucks on updating.
Doesn't seems to be the case with Sony, so I'll probably keep it until my contracts end and I get an upgrade (in 18 or so months)
