[Q] Lock screen notification app for note 4?! a real good one that works??! - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

any Lock-screen notification app for note 4?! a real good one that works??!!
i've tried so many from the play store( Echo lockscreen, NEXT lock screen, Heads Up Notifications,NILS lockscreen) some of them are good but with bugs like when i try to open the phone it shows me for a second the normal note 4 lock screen and then immediately the new lock screen app which is very bugging this way!!!!
i want to be able to see notification on the screen when its locked as ios-style (whatapp notification etc..)
is there anything out there that works good with the note 4?!

Works great and not a battery hog.

Galaxy Note Lockscreen apps (?)

Hi friends
Im gonna post a link to a video of the galaxy Note and from 00:56 to 01:05
you will notice that a nice looking chick is holding the Note on the lockscreen,
and it appears that there are some apps that appear on the bottom, right about
where the dock would be if the phone was unlocked.
Does anyone know if this is actually possible on the Note and how?
Im not refering to apps that customize the lockscreen because this
doesn appear to be an app.
I personally looked into the settings but had no luck.
Im guessing it was only a pre-production thing or else I would have found it.
But then again Im no expert...
Anyone with knowledge on the matter, please share your lights
here is the link:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xk...tablet-phone-the-galaxy-note-geekbeat-tv_tech
just found another one
I just found another video that shows the apps on the lock screen
and a couple more on the top right of the screen.
Where the heck are these options??????
link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOlJbJnvpfw
I have this feeling I've seen that screen elsewhere before... I don't have my Note with me, but if you check under the stock Clock application, i think the rightmost tab has something that has shortcuts on the bottom and top right like that?

Lol.. its the dock mode on the galaxy note.. its on the galaxy s2 too.. just put it on a dock accessory and,d screen interface changes like that even on my galaxy s2... But not wen you use it normally
What a goof I am!
Thank you both.
You're both right!
This obviously happens on the dock or if you choose this screen from the standard clock app.
Thanks
That is the Clock mode. Just enter Apps/Clock =)

Oh well, Galaxy Note DID have a lockscreen with app shortcuts like sense 3.0 lockscreen up to version JHA. Later on, Samsung decided to take out this feature....maybe for patent reason?!?!
What a pity! It was one of the reasons for me to buy the Galaxy Note!

I would only use a lockscreen app that doesnt interfere with the home button.
I paid for Lockmenu Pro and my money went to waste because the app interfered with the home button just like a launcher and there was no option ti cancel this. Pressing the home button once while the phone was locked, and it unlocked! Called my boss at 1:00am while in my pocket!!!!
Does widgetlocker mess up the home button?
it's not the desk clock, on the desk clock in the top right hand corner there's an expand/contract button, whereas in the video that button isn't there

Lock screen notifications

Hi all
So I'm new to Android and am wondering where the lock screen notifications are located and how are they enabled?

lock screen notifications? they come up in a red circle on the lock screen to show you missed calls/messages
I'm running cm9
No lock screen notis. Get hand cent from the market. It'll turn the screen on with a pop up of the new text.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
having moved from the walled in garden called the iphone, i expected that this functionally would be available by default on android (ICS).
can't believe it's not !
and dont forget you are running a version that is aleaked and not official, official releases might have it included it might not
Also, most Android phones have notification lights that flash different colours for different types of notification.
Samsung decided not to implement this... But there's a great app on Google Play, called NoLed, that can display notifications on the screen. Doesn't use much battery if you set it up right either - rarely even registers on the batt stats!
If you are from the iPhone then something else to warn you about is that any text messages > 3 messages long will be converted to MMS.
Handcent is a good alternative texting app that allows you to control whether or not this happens (there's no option in Android's default messaging app.)
Caught me out and cost me for the MMS messages too since they aren't included in my contract.
CM9 Roms are still in development
I'd recommend you go here http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/ and make a new post asking for this to be included in a future release.
CyanogenMod is strong because it users suggestions are taken on-board if they get enough support from the rest of the community. make the post, put it here and I'll post in support.
and DONATE. even if its £1/$1.6 they will only get better if you give your support.
NoLed is a brilliant tool for screen notifications, with possibility to monitor not only standard things like SMS and mail, you can also monitor apps, like Wordfeud or anything else
+1 for no led

[Q] How many of you are happy with Android L?

My review
Google did good job in creating a completely new UI. It is much better than previous UI but there are many problems. Animation is slow and sometime lags or even get stuck.
They did create new UI but they didn't polish it.
I'm very happy for this UI.
Lollipop works great on my nexus 4 & material design is so cool.
Great job big G!

I don't like how they removed Gallery and just left Photos (which forces people to sign up to Google+)
I don't like the lock screen either. Anyone know how to make it so that as soon as I press the power button to unlock it, the unlock pattern screen comes up straight away?
Well, it's not dark UI anymore, and that's really great !
It's also very smooth, and battery life is REALLY better than with Cyanogenmod (I used it a lot today and I still have 48% full. With Cyanogenmod, I had to charge my phone 2 times a day)
But I don't like flat design. I never liked flat design. It's like design, but made by lazy people. This is ugly.
And as LooieENG said, I don't like how they removed gallery. I won't use Photos, this sucks ! I use a third party app for Gallery.
I agree with you. Gallery was awesome. They should have just re-made according to android L instead of removing it.

I also dont like photos and new lock screen is pathetic. If you have apps like battery saver, power toggles, everycover etc, then you can see them in the notification menu and those even appears on the lock screen. Thats really lame.
Since android doesn't show battery percentage, i use third party app now i have to remove that app as well because it appears on lock screen .WTF Google.
The new UI is incredible, it's just that battery life sucks hard. I can't wait for compatible kernels to come out so I can get back to the experience I had with KK. Also, it's staggering just how many app developers didn't update their apps to support L yet. Next time I won't buy any of their apps.
Also, I miss GravityBox, and Xposed Framework in general. I do hope it'll support L eventually.

You can hide those notifications by going into Settings -> Sound & notification -> App notifications -> [choose your app] -> and turn on "Block".

I can turn off the notification but it also hides the battery indicator. I need battery indicator and stupid Google displays it on the lock screen.

There's a lot of apps you can download that changes the lookscreen and adds customizability
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cmcm.locker&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.appplus.hilocker&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.achep.acdisplay
do any of these work with fingerprint scanner? CM says it does, but i don't see the option in their menu -- just pattern or password.

Guys, can I hijack this thread to ask if your backlight is on when you use a pure black wallpaper as your lock screen wallpaper?
My blacks are pure black when I open my screensaver in the gallery (if i tap the screen to remove the UI, I can't see the screen at all in a dark room) and it's the same for most screens except for the lock screen. In the lock screen it almost appears gray or it appears like it's affected by backlight bleeding. Just wanted to find out if it's a software bug (since it's almost like the Night Clock bug) or if it's a defect with my phone. I also cleared my cache with no success.
Also, how do you take a screenshot of the lock screen?

Not sure if they work with the s6 edge, might have to wait for that support. I'll personally just wait for xposed to be updated so i can get fun stuff like wanam xposed, and just live with the current launcher, as i really like the fingerprint scanner.

You can change wallpaper by long pressing on an empty space in the homescreen. It goes into edit mode and you will see a wallpaper icon and label at the bottom left. Tap that and you are directed to another menu to select whether to apply your wallpaper to just your home or lockscreen or both. You can also go to settings>wallpaper to change wallpapers.
As for the weather, the design changes accordingly with the theme you choose.
Hope this helps.

Press home+powerkey simultaneously to get a screenshot anywhere in your phone.
Thanks so much for sharing guys. I wonder if there's a way to get rid of that white status bar I have in the lockscreen. It just looks so ugly. Hopefully an upcoming FW update from my carrier would fix it. :fingers-crossed:
Does someone know how to get the wallpaper the S6 gets when it's on update mod? Blue cyan w/bugdroid on the middle. I really love it

J Touch app for navigation rocks

Hey friends
I really don't like the navbar which is reducing the screen to much, so I decided to install J Touch app from playstore.
Loaded a nice looking home button jpeg picture from the web. Give the button a one hit back function, a long press home function and a swipe up for recents.
Please see attached pictures navigating is nice and I whish I could even eliminate the navbar on the homescreen

No I don't think so. There is transparency setted, the button is popping if hitted and it is shifting up on home screen. You could be as scared or even more about a status bar burn in...
and look how much time is needed:
"Test Results
The iPhone X displayed burn-ins before the Galaxy Note 8 at 17 hours. However, it took 510 hours for the images to become permanently etched on its display which also marked the end of the test.
Compared to that, the Note 8 took 62 hours to show first signs of display burn-in, which is impressive. However, it had permanent marks way before the end of the test. The Galaxy S7 Edge showed signs of burn-in sooner than the iPhone X, however, it showed permanent burn-ins much later than the Note 8 and almost at iPhone X’s 510 hour mark."
From page:

Ok so would you recommend the app over navigation gesture? The gesture is not polished at the moment I'll give the app a go

I think so, you can also activate temporary move, which is helpful is s.th. is hided by the button. So you can move the button away for two seconds. You can hide button always in landscape, it is hiding when you are keyboard typing... it is perfect for 18:9 displays.
If navbar would have a one button control too, I wouldn't use J Touch.
You can also give it an iPhone look but ok I guess everybody is hating apple .
Edit: Ah ok you mean gesture. Sorry I didn't have this option until now.... don't know what is better
Looks like a nice app. I prefer LMT Launcher though as you can set it to do almost any task and only comes on the screen when you activate it so creates a really clean look with extra functionality.
Or you could try Gesture Control from Conena.. I'm very happy with the way the gestures work

Have you been able to use lmt with stock os? If so, I'd like to know the secret for getting rid of the nav bar
Not sure. Not really a fan of stock. From other forum members, it's possible to disable it with the joneplustool app. Both that and LMT require root.
I've been using Swipe Navigation. It even has long press functionality. Loving it so far.
That looks bat **** ugly, why don't you just download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.suphi.swipenavigation&hl=en ?
In my kg g6 its eating battery like elephant ??
Xposed Edge anyone?
