Cant go into Recovery Mode - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i try to install TWRP and CWM recovery with mobile Uncle tools.
Everytime i try to go to recovery mode i only get fastboot. I think my recovery is broken
when i install Mi Recovery i get the same problem. i always get only fastboot. Can anyone help me?

Got the device rooted but TWRP won't work. Keeps giving "No command" error on recovery mode. I did the same on a Redmi 1S and it installed it smoothly. Seems the issue is with the TWRP file image. Any help would be much appreciated.

Install "Mobileuncle MTK Tools" from Google Play
Download TWRP recovery image: http://www.mediafire.com/download/54nspb3dsud5xow/new_recovery.img
put this img file in root of your SD card.
open Mobileuncle MTK Tools app on Phone, give root permissions, select update recovery and select the img file shown there.

Follow above procedure, then power off your phone.
Now while keeping "volume down" button pressed, power on your phone. It must show 3 options - normal, recovery and fastboot. highlight recovery using "volume down" button and the press "volume up" button.

Thanks a ton bro! That was the precise mistake which I was making. I didn't place the recovery image in the SD root but was browsing to the file. That did the trick and now it loaded up TWRP smooth and easy. Now CM11 YAY!!! Thanks again bro

boot to recovery
Hi, there are several ways to boot in recovery, i use two:
1-with s7 connected to pc execute "adb reboot recovey"
2-with s7 powered off, click "menu + call (green button) + power" for 30 seconds, or until the cwm menu apear.
There is several version of cwm for the s7-10x, depends in version of installed firmware, the more recent one that works best is version 6.1.2 by ere, google is your best friend to find it, if not tell me and i will upload the file.
Hope it helps,

Thanks, now I am able to boot in recovery mode......I did copied cyanogenmod 9 "cm-9-20120913-EXPERIMENTAL-s7-asturel.zip", but my screen is stuck on IDEOS logo..I waited for 30 mins or so, but still on the same logo...so I had to restore from backup...any thoughts on this...plz help...:cyclops:
Hi, i havent try cm9 by asturel, you can try flash it again, the problem is that cm9 and cm10 needs special kernel to boot, diferent then the stock kernel.
if the device does not boot in 10 minutes some thing wrong happended, you can try flash the kernel first and then the roms, inside the zip file there is a file "boot.img" thats the kernel, steps :
1-backup the working rom , always a good ideia :good:
2-boot in fast mode "vol up+home+power", fastboot mode apear on screen
3-connect s7 to pc, execute "fastboot flash boot boot.img", the boot.img file must be on same directory as fastboot
4-to reboot execute "fastboot reboot"
5-menu+call+power go to cwm install zip file, install the rom
If doest work, try other rom, there is several model of s7-10x, not all rom are compatible

How to boot into TWRP recovery mode from Phone OFF state

I cannot figure out how to boot into recovery from phone off state. If I go to ROM Toolbox pro and reboot that way into recovery, then it works fine, but NOT from phone off state. Thanks.
Press/hold vol down + press/hold power will get you to the bootloader, then select recovery from there.

I just want a custom recovery. I don't care what it is. Either TWRP or clockwork mod.

For stock recovery, yes you'll see that screen. On that screen all you have to do is press power button and then press volume up (just one quick press) and it will take you into recovery menu.

(HELP) Stuck on bootloader warning

Ok, so I tried unlocked bootloader with the tool, but then when I tried to install the recovery, I couldn't.
I managed to install it via fastboot but then again, when I tried to reboot into recovery, "no command" appeared.
Then I thought it would be easy to flash SU via recovery, then boot normally to install Root Explorer and rename the file but after installing SU and rebooting, I'm stuck on "Warning Bootloader...." screen.
Now I can't manage to boot nor power off the phone, any thoughts to try resolving the issue?
(Can't access vía adb/fastboot)
Any help would be appreciated.
Greetings from Mexico.
Flash the latest recovery twrp 2.5.7 I think the number is
Also sounds like you've flashed the wrong su too

Actually I can't flash anything for now as adb does not recognise my device, I was wondering if there's a way to turn off the phone from this "bootloader warning" screen, so I can boot into bootloader and try something new vía adb.

Help me please! I did every step you detailed, and I managed to make a nandroid backup with TWRP. But now I am unable to boot back into my system. Every time I click on reboot into system it boots back into TWRP... I did not think that making a backup on TWRP would soft-brick my phone, but it has.
Is there any suggestions you could give me to fix this? Was it my fault for using an app to restart my phone into recovery? Is there a way to boot into system from the TWRP terminal?
If it matters, when I boot up my phone I see this message on the top:
"Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
set warrenty bit: recovery"

Your backup probably got corrupt. Errors, unfortunately, do happen. You may have to flash this firmware to your device to get it working.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-J700P/
Mine did the same thing. I flashed with flashfire booted into twrp made a backup then tried booting into system but it just reboots me back into recovery.. i flashed just the stock recovery afterwards and it booted right into system.. i tried wiping system data cache internal storage dalvix cache then restoring the backup but it still booted into twrp instead of system. Like i did say it did boot right into system after flashing the stock recovery.
Works

Hi,

1. I download SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-20171001224502.zip and copy in my tablet memory but when I go through the Android recovery menu and then select apply update from SD card, it errored me:
E: failed to find /misc partition
2. I could not install TeamWin because when I flash the TeamWin on it by Odin3, the Odin notify Fail.
3. Also, The applications of Towelroot and kingroot could not root my device too.
How can I root this Tablet?
Thanks.
Also, the Error [E: failed to find /misc partition] notify me every time I want to work with the Android Recovery menu items!(ex. when I want to clear cache or factory reset or ...)

i also have this exact model of tablet and ive been trying to install twrp so i can root but no avail. ive tried using a few methods to root like kingroot, kingoroot and framaroot and several others which have all failed. I have latest samsung and adb drivers installed. when trying to flash twrp to tablet it successfully flashes but i dont know when to boot into recovery mode. several different rooting guides(sm-t377w rooting guides) for this model have mentioned booting into recovery mode but all specified different times to hold the buttons down such as booting into recovery mode right before the end of flashing with auto-reboot selected or fully powering off without auto-reboot selected then pressing power, home and volume down then power, home and volume up as soon as "a blank screen" is seen. also get a "no command" screen right it goes into stock recovery when not flashing but idk if thats important. i just want to install twrp so i begin working on a root or find another method to root this tablet so i can remove bloatware and look into possible overclocking. anything that will free up resources so i will have less lag when i use it. any help is greatly appreciated. after a full week of attempting and fixing one brick im beginning to give u hope.

You cannot use the stock recovery to flash anything except stock roms or updates to stock roms.
Follow these instructions to get started. I copied these from y2k-inc if you want to thank him.
Easily done if you follow the rooting guide for the 6.0.1 ... anyway, here's how.
Download Odin (version 10.12.x) and then download TWRP into the same folder:
https://dl.twrp.me/gteslte/twrp-3.2....e.img.tar.html
Now donwload Super User: https://download.chainfire.eu/1220/S...etrieve_file=1
Run Odin (preferred in Admin mode) and load : twrp-3.2.0-0-gteslte.img.tar into the AP.
Put your Tablet into Download mode (Vol Down + Home + Power and then Vol Up), connect to your PC and Hit Start on Odin.
Wait for it to fully reboot and Power it Off, now reboot into Recovery mode (Vol Up + Home + Power), once in TWRP, copy Super User file into the Download folder of your Tablet, select Install from TWRP and install Super User. Reboot and enjoy Root
You can also flash after market roms in TWRP.
If you are on a later ROM (Android 9 or 10) you will be better off rooting with Magisk.
If you need help with any of this, do a detailed google search for it and select the XDA link for your best info.
