Gamma calbiration tool for the Note 4 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone?

bump..

Reviews of the note 4 display with the proper color saturation setting are supposedly the best out there to date on any device.
Why would you need to adjust it?

On my calibrated desktop 27" pc display, I see 9 if I try really hard with my nose in the screen. On my note 4, I see 11.
(I'm a digital artist, and use my desktop for 3d graphics content creation.)
Considering the display of the image on my note is 1/2 the the size of it on my pc monitor, I think that's pretty good.
(I also have my note set on the more vibrant video settings)
Typically you only get gamma access (if you can even get it) with root.
My nexus 7 2013 with root JUST got gamma adjustment tools 2 or 3 months ago, and it's going on 18 months old.

Using this gamma adjustment test, my note looks near perfect.

Did you tried in a dark room? if yes, your monitor is bad.

Then why does the second gamma test pattern work perfectly?
Never try only one gamma test pattern.

Not sure, but on my IPS monitor i can see them all without a single problem.
Care to share the image you posted?

Any news? Youtube is quite unusable in dark scenes. Note 3 is way better.

well what u experinced is a reflow effect. itz not a problem, the browser will reflow the web page, to fit ur screen, when u zoom in or out. it takes some hardware+ software process. so it will take 1-2 sec

Screen video capture possible

Did not now we're to ask but is it possible to screen capture on nexus 7 like flaps on a pc. Or app that records your actions on screen.

This one is your best bet. Seems to work with tegra 3, but clashes with multirom. Let us know how it works on a non multirom system.
The original screencast wont work on tegra 3, but this is a new one by a different developer.

only capturing the multirom bootscreen with several apps :crying:
I'd think it wouldn't work based on the Google Play comments left by other Nexus 7 users.

Probably because that's the main layer. I don't know much bout multirom, but it sounds like when I managed to boot CM off an SD card on my old Desire-Z, the actual rom display was a layer on top of the main recovery, so if it's tying into hardware for the recording it might only the recovery screen.
That's my theory anyways, I'm sure the actual developer could fill in the details.

Funny considering that the Play store actually says:
"
This app is compatible with all of your devices.
Asus Nexus 7
T-Mobile LGE Nexus 4
T-Mobile HTC HTC Vision
"
By the way most of the complaints appear to be people who are either stock and unrooted, or have no clue what rooting is. I shall try it on my Nexus 7 with a Non-Multirom OS.
---------- Post added at 02:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:30 AM ----------
Hrm not sure I want to do this... (being a rooted application, means could probably act like malware with those advertising options).

I just hit decline for now since I'm testing it. Also I made sure to goto menu and change CPU type to tegra.
---------- Post added at 02:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:36 AM ----------
Well that was interesting and unexpected, and I take back what I said bout multirom earlier. I'm getting a 4 panel recording of my recovery (ie: TWRP in 4 corners all purpleish).
I wonder where it's pulling the recovery image from.

Post 2013 Nexus 7 photos

I figured that this could be interesting. Not the greatest camera ever, but I've found that it can do quite well with help from apps.
Here's one taken with Night Camera at high res.

Heart Rate Sensor

Hi!
I recently found an application called Runtastic Heart Rate In the Google play store.
It's almost like the S5 one but a little bit different because it uses the Camera and LED flash to measure your heart rate.
Here's a link to the app (free version) so you can try it out for your self!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.runtastic.android.heartrate.lite
And here's the paid version wich offers more features!

You got to be really naive just to think it measures your heart beats with the camera and LED flash...
Really try to read a little bit more before you say that.

these apps work BUT the distance between led and camera on S4 is big so there is no / little accuracy.
I used one of these apps with S2 and worked fine

Yes when I use it I get like 95% accuracy
If you don't believe me you can use the app to see what you get.
After that go into the clock app and click on the stopwatch tab then click start. Count your puls for 15 sec and multiply it by 4!
Then you see how accurate this app is.
Sent from my GT-I9505 rocking the best and only Phoenix Rom v9.4 by @tamirda
Smartphones can already detect blood oxygenation if you put the finger over the camera and let the LED light shine through the finger. It's mostly used for pulse. I've tested this out, and it does work quite accurately most of the time.

Photo quality

Say "cheese", then rate this thread to express how photos taken with the LG V40 come out. A higher rating indicates that photos offer rich color (without over-saturating), sharp detail (with all subjects in-focus), and appropriate exposure (with even lighting).
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
The Gcam photos on all 3 rear lenses are far sharper than what the LG software can produce, almost like a different phone. The wide camera pictures from LG software when you zoom in is blurry and like an oil painting effect. The Gcam reveals far more detail and sharpness.
Anyone else feel the same?
Which Gcam version are you using? I don't notice much difference unless I'm using the Night Sight feature.
