Updated to Lollipo but... - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have updated my galaxy s5 to Lollipop but there is not trace about new Camera API
Do yuo have any news about this?
I tried with Samsung Camera App, Lcamera,Camera Fv-5 Beta(that uses the new API) but nothing

Does the update via odin erase all data? Downloading the update now

I seriously hope they didn't block it and actually make use of it to improve the camera. I was hoping for more controls and even raw with lollipop.
Hope samsung doesn't limit us by blocking it, this is android after all. But the L camera hasn't been released with the nexus lollipop updates even, so i guess we have to wait and see

I had the same very very sad issues the first day of use, then i updated the MDK firmware to latest available at this time (MF3).
And now Camera is OK.
(GT9500)
+ I somewhere read that it can be a RAM related issue, not enough RAM remains available and doesn't allow the camera application to well open. Check this!

What do you mean updated MDK firmware and how do I do that? I guess I'm new to this. I wish there would be an official Samsung release about this!

Try a clearing the camera app data in settings/all applications and reboot or do a data/factory reset. If that doesn`t help reflash the rom you have with Odin.

This is Samsung software "numbering". From MEA release camera has been updated and for me cleaned all issues I have opening the application. (Now they are at MG1 version)
To update your firmware you should connect to KIES and Samsung will tell you what to do!
If you don't want to wait you should install an up to date custom ROm, explanation are available in sticked first threads.
Don't worry we were all beginners before!

Thanks for explaining!
I did a factory reset this morning, it was working well, then running the barcode scanner (which uses the camera), it rebooted again. Kies says I'm up to date..
Maybe a faulty phone then?

Has anyone try this new update?

Hey guys, on sammobile i got a new firmware update. I thought it's just another rubbish update but man, when i had a look at change log and its baseband i was just smiling. Now i have installed that update which is for Hungary. I am not from Hungary, i am in Pakistan and my mobile came from saudi arabia. But this update did nothing wrong to my S3 Neo GT-I9301I.
Its just good as the old one. This update has a new kernel update and baseband updates. Battery timing is same as the old one had. But RAM using is less in this update than the older versions.
What do u think guys? Is it the base for a new big update? Can it be a solution for those who have problems with CM ROMs? I mean after updated to this one they can try CM again and may be they got good results?
Tell me if anyone has try this?
Sorry for my English and for some proofs attachments are here.

Today I got this update too. It a stability and bug fix update. I just notice that my shutdown screen looks like the one from the Galaxy s5.

Hey @samo_say
Any one who has a problem with camera with this new stock firmware update should try this camera fix from NeoStockX ROM by Danny. One of my friends was facing this problem and we used that fix and now he has a working camera.
Thanks to @Danny_Dewet .

Oh, but you have latest firmware now. You can root your mobile again. By the way RAM using after flashing this update is not as high as in previous one.

Yep :good: I'm re-rooting right now
I tried CM 12.1 after flashing this update. And my problem of "no data connection " is still there. It is not resolved after trying every possible solution.
Re-rooted with the Rox's method
The update installs two new apps in the italian version (ITV) : mySamsung and MilanEXPO
I searched online but I didn't find the changelog; is anyone able to find it and posting it here please?

Android 7.0 Nougat firmware for the Galaxy J7 (2016) now available online

Update: This seems to be a false alarm, or something is currently up with Samsung’s update servers, as the firmware that has gone online for the Indian J7 fails to install on the device. An over-the-air update isn’t available either.
not true: The long-awaited Android 7.0 Nougat firmware for the Galaxy J7 (2016) "SM-J710FN" is now available to download from many sites 'sammobile 'samsung updates' it’ll only work with units registered in India.
Last week, Samsung released a near-identical update for the Galaxy J7 (2016) in Russia. The only difference was the firm started rolling it out over-the-air (OTA), meaning customers didn’t need to manually flash it onto their device.
The OTA should start making the rounds in India in the coming weeks.

Battery backup is slightly higher than mm rom and I feel slightly lag on scroll very rarely so overall it's better and worth.

Samsung s7 edge sm G935T firmware update?

Hi,
I have recently bought Samsung s7 edge T mobile unlocked , but it not showing update. The last updated was android 6.0.1 on November 1st, 2016. I have also tried to connected with smart switch pc app but it's not showing any update either. I want to update my device with official firmware so that it will update automatically and regularly. I'm in Pakistan.
I have seen on Sam mobile to update via Odin. I want to know is this official update? I have not rooted and don't want to get rooted , I want to keep it official.
Thank you
WEIRD is knox tripped ?
Could be that the unlock was not done officially by the carrier, and it tripped KNOX or the OTA security bit.
I've been looking for a reputable download for the SM-G935T G935TUVS4BQJ2 firmware. For some reason T-Mobile does not have a download link now.

Phone is alive again! Rooted, mildly debloated BQJ2 firmware (by mildly I mean, some sammy apps, LookOut, and T-mobile app removed)
Of note, Substratum made my phone lag for some reason, even with the governors set correctly and whatnot. Will try clearing cache on the app and then clear cache in recovery and see if it works better. The whole reason I had to reflash is that for some reason when I accidentally changed the GPU governor in Kernel Adiutor, it broke Play store.
Can anyone help with this. After updating to QBJ2, it won't detect network anymore, keeps searching!
Anyone got a fix please?
I have virus
What I have to do?

Just remember, that means if you take this update, no changing firmwares unless the other carriers jump on board. Not sure why they are still updating the bootloader at this point anyway.

Yes, and Beware!!
A (or 0xA) = 10 in Hexadecimal notation
I'm on AT&T and took the new firmware - G930AUCUACSF1 and now I cannot use V9 Engineering kernel to root.
And I cannot switch to G930U firmware since that newest version stops at V9 bootloader.
ugh -> Samsung!!!!!!!

Not until (hopefully) the G930U comes out w/ new version w/ Bootloader V10....
Cannot downgrade due to Samsung imposed restriction.
Are you finding the new version to have issues?

I used App Freezer to freeze all the bloatware and it's cleared up my app screen greatly.
You need to ADB into the phone to set permissions for the app, so that's a bit tricky, but worth it.
Hey, check out the latest firmware that lvpre upload to his google drive (his thread is here It's the only one I've found that has allowed me to to change to 930U with v10 bootloader. Sorry, brand new to the forum, don't know how to make links work
