LG G3 Received VoLTE Update - Good News for Droid Turbo? - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo General

http://www.droid-life.com/2014/12/05/lg-g3-on-verizon-gets-advanced-calling-1-0-volte-in-update/
The Droid Turbo needs this same update to allow for simultaneous voice/data. I personally feel that Moto/Verizon will include the VoLTE update and Lollipop update in the same release for the Droid Turbo!
What does everyone else think?

Saw this on geekbytes, I don't know about everyone else but I'm starting to think we're not going to see any kind of updates at all. Ha ha

Since the Lg G3 came out about a half a year before the droid turbo, why would you not just think that the Droid Turbo would be next? You not believe in a chronological order?

Verizon Droid X gets 2.3.340 [EPIC FAIL]

http://www.gizmocrunch.com/android/4296-motorola-droid-x-23-update-flash
So this was rather funny. I have a friend who just got he Droid X yesterday and he used to have the Droid since the day it came out. He always has to outdo everyone and have the best. I got a text this morning that said: "Got the 2.3 software update B*tch". So I looked it up because I know it isn't true and sure enough find out Verizon called this update 2.3.340. And we all thought that we were getting teased with Gingerbread LMAO! Epic fail on Verizon's behalf. They have seemed to screw up on a lot of things lately. Did you guys see where they put a Droid X ad with the phone showing the IPhone version of Google Maps?: http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/30/verizon-sucks-at-photoshop-confuses-the-droid-x-for-an-iphone/
Must suck to be on Verizon!
That's because it's referring to the phone's 2.3.340 system version...not android version. It's still 2.2 android froyo
Silly version numbering policy.
You can also laugh at your friend because he pays about $40 more a month so he can have 3g in the desert.

Yes I got a laugh out of it. If you don't care, Why did you open it. Move along, nothing to see here folks.
The point of this wasn't to refer to the Droid x at all. I love my evo I just thought it was hilarious that Verizon called the update 2.3. They certainly got a lot of ppl excited over nothing.

Motorola droix x receive gingerbread today

Thats fustrating
first, not the right forum.
second, the droid X has been out longer, and frankly is easier to update since it doesn't have the whole webtop environment that needs to be baked into the build.
it's coming for the atrix, relax and learn patience.
Gotta admit it, it's frustrating.
Don't know about the dev part, but Moto could improve some programming in those phones that are more difficult to do stuff. And launch upgrades to all phones within a short time diference.
Would be like heaven XD

Compro o teu direto da Claro? No meu veio um adesivo dizendo 'desbloqueado' ou algo assim...
You've bought straight from Claro? Mine came with a sticker saying 'non-bloqued' or something...
what's with the sadism?
you don't possibly expect moto to alter their upgrade plans they have made in past just because you purchased a different model which launched much later do you?
Op I thought you got rid of your atrix. Secondly, we just seen the Gingerbread beta release in ken's thread. Calm down.

Alright first and foremost you gotta understand that Motorola is Verizon's bread and butter. They relied on Motorola to pay their bills while waiting for Apple.
So of course they are going to have updates fast. They usually get updates "Nexus Fast" because they rely on Motorola so much.
With that said, it's not the end of the world. We'll have a more established version of Gingerbread.
Just like my original Motorola Milestone, it got Froyo later than anybody else, but its version of Froyo is the best that I've ever seen. (Heck the Milestone's version of Froyo is even better than the Atrix)
The only people that should be upset, are "Bell users" since we still have not seen a single update yet. We still have crippled upload speeds, and it's not fair to ask a Bell user to flash a French SBF when their isn't an official stock version available to fall back on.
* BTW Bell users, please click on the link in my sig and "post" that you "want a Bell Atrix Section".
Mr. Clown OK'd the idea, if we get enough supporting it...

Porting Moto G 2014 lollipop to Moto g 2013

As we all know moto g 2014 has got lollipop update and it has been captured then i guess we should start porting it for the moto g 2013 it should be easy as most things are common

Moto g lollipop will not be soon as expected i think bcoz just for the sake of differentiating the handsets a bit. But never know
I think no XDA dev could port it as fast as moto is doing their update release job.
Just wait!
Guys please just be a little patient. Lollipop is coming. Yes, I am excited too but Lollipop is on the way. Motorola/Lenovo is not playing around with this update. It will be here before you know it.
Hahaha... One Lollipop thread is chasing another Lollipop thread...
It's gettin' a bit pathetic ;D
If Motorola confirmed this update, then wait. You should be happy that there will be an update. It would be worse if there wasn't any.

Marshmallow confirmed for DROID Turbo

Just came across an article stating Motorola confirmed we will be receiving Marshmallow. So excited! http://motorola-blog.blogspot.com/2015/10/marshmallow-and-smore.html?m=1

I on the other hand will count myself as lucky if I see it by October of next year.
they forgot the "2" at the end of "Turbo"
I'm not holding my breath for this to happen anytime in the near future. Probably most of us are on our next phone by then.
Confirmed by Moto themselves: http://motorola-blog.blogspot.in/2015/10/marshmallow-and-smore.html?m=1

Time to buy a brand new turbo. Verizon is selling them for $480 out right.
The cpu and gpu are better than those on xp and that battery should keep me happy.

Just out of curiosity, what advantages would you get from a faster CPU/GPU that the 2014 version can't handle?

Agreed. There's nothing that I've thrown at this phone that it hasn't been able to handle. At one point there is going to be diminishing returns when it comes to computing power and phone software. That time seems to be about now. Until more hardcore GPU driven software starts to come out I don't feel I need to upgrade anytime soon.
Yeah we just got LP in June, so I'm thinking next June for MM?? By the time we get it, the rest of Android will be ready for the next version..lol

It was actually July 1.
Soak test was in June, but OTA started July 1.
Back in March, Motorola insiders leaked info that the Droid Turbo would get Lollipop in July. We thought that was a joke, but it was the sad truth.
I stand corrected...
I still think our huge delay had more to do with problems with lollipop itself then Motorola. I'm going with 6.0 before the end of 2015.

I hear you. :highfive: The Turbo is a beast!
I mean, just look at the specs on this thing. Some of the new phones coming out now don't stack up to the Turbo specs-wise. Come on bootloader unlock, I'm keeping my Turbo.
We'll have it as soon as Justin updates sunshine.
Tapped out from my Motorola Droid Turbo, featuring Android 5.1. Please pardon my brevity.
Sunshine was released a few hours ago.

New slap in the face

My LG X 8.3 tablet just got marshmallow, but not my Droid Turbo. Perhaps Verizon should give out condoms with their new smartphones, as they screw everyone over in the updates
I experienced the same feeling yesterday when mine (X 8.3) updated. Really makes me think the lack of update has more to do with Lenovo/Motorola.
I love my turbo as it is, rooted unlocked and Xposed. Just want security updates really.
CM is too unreliable on my Turbo where I live. Full 4G becomes barely 3G. I don't know what my next phone *will* be, but I know it *won't* be a Lenovo/Motorola. Too bad because I love their hardware.

No, VZW deserves the blame. They're notorious for being slow to release anything until they've made it as unhackable as they possibly can.
