[Q] Bluetooth difference between tilapia & grouper - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, sorry for my crazy question. I hope someone can answer my question. I notice that tilapia cm11 bluetooth not work like grouper stock bt. My experience: I'm using MiBand app (italian translation, but it's same of original chinese or english) to connect MiBand bracelet (by Xiaomi). On my tilapia with cm11 works well but not in other nexus 7 wifi stock (grouper and flo). What change between tilapia bt and grouper bt? Or change between stock and cm? (I know flo has bt4)
Thank you
Other data:
- MiBand require BT4 LE
- On tilapia (cm11) connection works
- On grouper (stock 4.4) connection NOT works
- On grouper (stock 5) connection NOT works
- On flo (stock 5) connection NOT works
Tilapia has BT3
Grouper has BT3
Flo has BT4 LE

My Nexus 7 running Android 5.0 also has some difference between 4.4 somethings also don't work

Search for "Bluetooth low energy enabler" on the play store. Grouper had a bt-le chip on board, but it was not certified for bt-le so the stock firmware does not support it and it needs to be patched to work.
CM already includes the patch.
Cheers

Well, thank you! You explain exactly what's the problem source! I suspected that problem was software side and not hardware side. I'll check this hint as soon as possible and suggest it to other user.
Thank you!

The app is pretty expensive, for some code lines. Does anyone know how or what to edit in Aokp 5.0 to enable BLE?

[MOD] Aircrack for N7100 ( RTL8187 & AR9271)

I have manged to Alfa AWUS036H and TP-LINK TL-WN722N external usb adapter to work with aircrack-ng with backtrack for ARM in my Galaxy Note II ( n7100). If anyone interested have a look
an EXPERIMENTAL flashable zip for CM10.1 based rom is available at http://www.maxters.net/2013/02/aircrack-suite-for-galaxy-note-2/
Is there a chance to flash this zip on a stock rom ?
Where can I find the patches you made to the kernel?

Right on man. I'm hoping the bcmon guys get monitor mode working for our 4334, but until then I'll see if I can get some drivers working for my asus external thumb wireless card. Any advice appreciated.

hi @nizammoidu, do you think you could make a kernel compatible with lollipop for n7100 since this only works on cm10.1 right?

im using ivan's meller cm13 rom is it possible? if not we can use maybe a kk version or lollipop ? wich one is easier?
If you on 4.4.2 stock rom, you give the nadia kernel for 4.4.2 from maxter. It works just as great and has more precompiled usb wifi drivers on it and works perfectly with aircrack via Ubuntu and linux

Missing Paranoid settings.

Hello there, I'm new to this forum and I want to start by saying that I was able to root and install my first customer ROM thanks to you.
That being said, everything seems to be in order except that I don't see Paranoid Settings.
I'm running the following:
Device: Nexus 7 2013
Recovery: TWRP
ROM: pa_flo-4.2-BETA4-20140408
This is a snapshot of my settings menu.
If I'm missing any information or posted in the wrong place, please excuse me.

Yep, PA hasn't implemented them yet, it's normal I think

This gets asked daily in their dedicated thread
(spoiler alert: kit Kat killed a lot of them)
If you want customization then I'd use Xposed Framework with the GravityBox module but if you're looking for the signature PA per-app dpi and tablet/phablet modes then unfortunately they aren't included with the KK ROMs
Thank you guys for the responses.

What do you mean with KitKat killed a lot of them, do you mean features?
And which one is the dedicated thread, I've seen plenty of them?
Thanks for the help.

KitKat didn't kill the features, PA killed the features because they decided to start from scratch and build their ROMs in a different way.

If you get the AOSP device tree, you might be able to set it up to build. I have no idea if kitkat can be built for the Nexus S, however.
Thanks

I think the same stuff that got KitKat working on the aries family got it working for crespo... But I don't think any of the core team could assist you here as none of us have that device.
Thanks

CyanogenMod 13: First Marshmallow-Nightlies released

Hi,
These releases ONLY apply to Nexus 7 (deb & flo)
but does NOT to Nexus 7 GSM 2012 (tialapia) yet. Do they?
I think the experimental is something different?

We'll probably get it when the 3.4 kernel gets stable
