sorry my english

Pretty hard to understand but android wear is compatible to any android device I believe 4.2 and higher. I have a samsung gear live and have no issues

I m using lg g watch with my nexus 4, it is working perfectly, yup battery life gets decreased due to bluetooth connectivity all the time sending and recievibg data to and from watch, but its only like a percent more for an hour

I didn't understand a jack

What do you mean by Joke?
Anyway the LG G Watch will work with every phone that have Android 4.3+ and bluetooth 4.0.
Open this link in your phone browser http://g.co/WearCheck, it will check the compatibility.
The bluetooth 4.0 bring low energy connection so it will decrease phone battery life but just a little.
The LG G Watch don't have enough battery for 2 days, you must charge every night. (or day if you work at night).

no eco mode like the optimus g?

something i habe been wondering... Thema optimus g has an "eco mode" Tor increase battery. ( i think it turns offen cores)
Since we are talking about pure Google, i guess The nexus 4 doesnt have something like that?
. The Optimus G also seems to have very good battery life, if users go into the settings and turn on the Eco mode. This effectively throttles the CPU to last-generation Krait speeds, which is still fast enough to use any function on the phone, and drops the power use from 10%/1.5 hours to 10%/5 hours. The first day I got the phones after charging I didn’t use either, only to find both were nearly discharged from minimal use over 10 hours. Minimal use meaning setting up the phone, downloading and installing apps, and answering a few emails. With Eco, that same minimal use, plus at least an hour and a half of low-end Android gaming after 13 ho hours, left the phone with 40% remaining battery.

No eco mode isn't apart of AOSP this is pure Google.

jesus the news doesn't get any better does it?
i hate to say this but it's an epic fail from qualcomm if this has to be done on every s4 pro soc.
bad battery life
throttling due to overheating
what a POS, google can ram their nexus 4 up their arse tbh
And that's the beauty of xda devs. Expect those sort of tweaks to appear.

Moto X not built for kit Kat

I've owned a moto x for 1 week now. When I got it, I immediately ignored the kit Kat update, tried using jelly bean for 2 days, I had good to above average battery life.
3rd day, I updated it to kit Kat, my battery life took a big hit!!
Yesterday I received a nexus 5 as a gift, I love it.
I performed an experiment with both phones, I wiped both in recovery (stock, both phones are completely stock) I wiped cache. I then took my SIM out of the moto x. Turned on, only Wi-Fi on both. Then installed the exact same apps on both phones.
Whole time I was doing this I was charging both of them.
One 100% hit both of them I unplugged then at same time and turned screen off, let them sit.
After 6 hrs of sitting, the nexus 5 was at 98% the moto x was at 89%!! That's LOCATION turned off on both. And on the motto x the active screen and hands free control.
I think the nexus is built for kit Kat, most phones have quad core nowadays, I'm thinking that kit Kat just runs better.
The battery life difference is a shocker to me, and fit that reason alone, I'm using the nexus 5 and selling my moto x.
If I could downgrade the moto x, I would for sure, but I need battery life.
EDIT...
I've just redone my test with the same results, I will post pics later.

You must have a bad moto x. I've let mine sit overnight multiple times and after about 8 hours my battery is still 100%. Three email accounts synced, Wi-Fi, location on.
Either that or you have a really good moto x!!! I find it hard to believe after 8 hrs still at 100%!!
I understand this is a moto x thread and people will defend their phones, I think there is a lot of people experiencing this after updating to kit Kat.

Find out, in about phone, if dev option is on. Tap many times on build # to enable. Then be sure both phones are set to ART runtime!! You will need lots of time & battery.I think the x will do much better then.
No, I think you should get that checked out. I've yet to have mine die on me in less than a day with normal use. Usually is only at 40-50% when I go to bed, and uses almost no battery while idling overnight, I'm guessing due to the architecture. I'm not saying the moto is better than the nexus, just a shame to hear you're having a bad experience with yours. Good luck with it!
Screen shots from gsam would help see what's happening.
But, I had phenomenal battery life on my x.....til my wife got it. Lol avid facebook user....she lost a good chunk of battery life from it alone. Cause its still setup exactly how I had it....but she's always on facebook (pics constantly loading) and she uses the "phone" way more...another drain.
However.....standby time for me never got much lower that 1 percent per hour. My n5....0.4 per hour. I assume active and touchless must keep the x standby drop higher, or radio maybe? Something anyway. I stopped worrying, since overall the x got great battery life. ?

I took the KitKat update the day I got my phone on 3/7/2014 and the battery life is better than my old Nexus. I put the phone on charge at 1600 take it off around 2000 when I wake up at 600 and the phone is at 97%. By the time I get home from work at 1500 it's down to 60%. It'll go 24 hours on one charge easy but I charge it every 12, or so. Some days I'm on it all the time.
Then again, I do have an unlocked boot loader, I'm rooted and I've got Greenify hibernating most of the apps I don't constantly use.

With everything on, GPS,location, ect and on WiFi all Verizon bloat removed. At three months on kitkat I drop 3-4% average at ten hours off charge. Once I got 1% drop over 8 hours and another 2% also at 8 hours. So not knowing if your nexus is new but the more the X settle in the better it gets.

I had another Moto X that didn't keep the chrge well. It would drop about 5% in hour after unplugging. So it happens. I didn't take into account about your stock. I have all the verizon crap removed and some unwanted moto apps. Very debloated on my set up.
I have found the solution for power management wakelocks on Kitkat. Many of you might be seeing that Wakelock detector shows phone is staying awake for 40-50% of the times since kitkat update.
Most of these wakelocks are thanks to Power manager service and pm8921_chg wakelocks. After removing the phone from charger these wakelocks causes phone to stay awake when it shouldnt.
I think I have found a solution.
When your battery is 100% switch off the phone. Remove the charger. Let it go to blank screen and then power it back on. Now when phone boots without charger connected to it, use it normall and you will see the wakelocks are no longer keeping phone on for 40-50% of the time. It is back to normal 10-11% or lower depending on use and phone gives great battery life.
I am yet to do lot of testing or reading on this, but this is just an observation. Worth giving it a try.
I get high calenderbackupstorage wake up triggers. Almost 400 to 500
I had this problem in my other phone too.
I have turned off sync , but still the problem persists.
Freezing the app also does not help

If you are having the same issues on 2 phones, then it must be one of the apps that you have on your phone. Use AppOps to see which apps are using calender and turn off them if not needed.

What is this "phone" thing you speak of? Some kind of special app or some hidden feature built into the X? I'm not familiar with this concept.
I had my first Moto x run 4.2.2 and battery life sucked. upgraded to Kit Kit and everything was awesome like everyone mentioned.
My 2nd Moto X and it had great battery on both 4.2.2 and 4.4. I've had 3 and all had weird issues. I do think Moto X has some quality control issues. I've closely examined the phones and there were little inconsistencies between the 3. Going to a Tmobile store even confirmed they are using really old outdated SIM cards.
All 3 of mine had Loss of signal bug and MMS bug. no matter what I did.
Some people have no issues at all don't know what to make of it.

Note 4 and Android Wear device - battery drain, experience?

So I've recently bought a Android Wear device - LG G Watch R.
Quite expectedly I've encountered a problem which seems to bother me a lot - battery drain.
In order for Android Wear device to work properly it needs Google App to be enabled on the phone. Unfortunately it needs Google Now as well ;/
I've disable everything which can be disabled or stopped - location, history, some-automatic-bs. Judging by PC Wakelock Detector the most usage is for com.android.google.gsf and com.android.google.quicksearchbox
Now I see a lot faster battery drain and a lot of wakes in the battery usage.
Someone else using Android Wear to share some knowledge?
I also have LG G Watch R.
Battery drain is noticeable but it is expected. Watch and phone are permanently connected by bluetooth and some services running.
But, battery stay one day without any problems and I always charge the phone every night so thats don't bother me at all.

Hi
I have also noticed this as well, mine seems to have the Android OS as a source of wakelocks, not sure what though. Sometimes I have the Android OS with around 2hr+ of awake time.
Is it the same with all smart watches? I was thinking of getting one of the Samsung ones but not sure which one yet.
I think it's to do with bluetooth being on all the time rather than the type of watch.
I have a first generation Samsung Gear (a.k.a. Galaxy Gear) now with Tizen OS and theres no notice of any significant difference in battery use.
I like LG and Motorolla watches but they work with Google Now and in Portugal there is no use to the app and i remember on my Xperia S Google Now drain my battery in few hours! Since my Note 3 and now Note 4 i allways have that App desable.

Anyone switched directly from the G3 to the V20?

I have the G3 and the battery life is not bad. I'm debating between the pixel and the V20. I'm curious how the G3 battery life compares directly with the V20. I know everyone is interested in sharing their battery story and if you have another phone you want to talk about I'll be happy to start another thread. It doesn't help cover my question if people are switching from the G4 or G5 or note or a vibrator or an iPhone... I have a G3 so that is the only frame of reference that will mean anything to me.
It's about the same. Traded in my G3 for the v20 and so far the only thing that's great is the audio on my headphones. Dropped calls and bad LTE connections along with some lag have made me consider taking it back.
OMG get the v20! Switched from the G3 and guessing double the battery life after a week of use. Much better LTE signal strength with fewer dead spots. Killer audio, camera, and love the always on screen.
Looked at a pixel but for the extra cost of about $250 on VZ plus getting the removable battery and SD card I was down for the v20.
This phone is killing the G3. Battery life is waaay better. And I had Greenify and Amplify on my G3. It was rooted and booted but this V20 is 2 steps up without root. Probably get a day and a half once root comes out. Jk. Lol.
THanks for the response - the reason I ask is - I've turned off a ton of apps I don't use and get very good battery life on my G3. I have BT on 24x7.
It has been 24 hours since my last charge - I have 62% battery life remaining. Talk time 1.5 hours - normally I use my phone about 4.5 hours a day - I use it as my office line for tech support.
Anyone here use their phone as a phone a lot?

Basically my phone on standby I have black and white on cause I used it last night and its better on the eyes I just haven't turned it off lol
I too switched from my very loyal/dependable G3 to the V20. I've had the V20 since Oct 29th and I can say without reservation that it blows my old G3 away. I was running Resurrection Remix ROM on my G3, and the V20 still smokes it....regardless of no root/locked bootloader. The only thing I miss is the CM13 theme engine/Layers...but I still think the V20's responsiveness and features make up for it.
I am on Verizon and I've noticed that the signal strength is much better on the V20 compared to what I had on the G3. So far, I am confident that I made the right choice. Also for me, battery life is much better on the V20 and that is with its little 2nd screen on the entire time.... I average a day and half to 2 with moderate to heavy usage. My old G3 would only last about a day.
I did seriously contemplate the Pixel XL, but when I finally had one in hand and compared it to the V20, it was a no brainer for me.....removable battery and expendable local storage sealed the deal.
Good luck with your decision(s)....
I only just changed to the V20 yesterday, so far so good. I will still keep my G3 , it still holds its weight when comparing to other handsets on the market. Though the 2Gb ram was starting to show it's not good enough anymore with android 6.
I just got my V20 today and i have to so far I am loving it over my G3, idk about battery life yet as I killed the battery during setup and restoring my apps.
Thanks for your replies. I look forward to your opinions on the battery.
Well I still have 2X LG G3 and 1X Samsung galaxy s4 . But because my LG V20 came defective from factory i had to return it, but for the short period i used it, i can say it is way better than the LG G3 on Every aspect without exception! (im still waiting for my new LG V20 to come (STUPID BACKORDERS!)) The LG G3 >rooted with AICP or Resurrection Remix would last about 18 hours with screen off, and 3-4:50 hours with screen on device in normal usage, not heavy such as Youtube video on 1440p. Yet with the LG V20 with screen off, i lost about 1 percent every 4 hours with screen off . and screen on i got 6+ hours of normal usage. (i have 35 user apps installed on my LG G3 and also had them on my LG V20, many of them were constantly synchronizing such as package tracker pro, zooper widget pro, among others)
My V20's battery life is just about exactly what I was getting with the G4 and the G3.

Bummer - but good to know. I'm hoping the Motorola ? or Lenovo P2 come to Verizon soon as I'll need to make a decision soon. I know it a fancy recording device is important to others but I use my phone to make phone calls 95% of my use time is phone calls. Maybe 5% of the time I'll check email or text and once in a while when travelling use GPS. So cameras and recording don't matter - call reception and battery life are king for me. They both have similar thickness to the V20 but include a 5100mah battery!

Maybe. Depends on other factors. Pretty much any review you read will say that the Moto Z Play can last days. I've seen reports of 7 to 10 hours of SOT. That's without the battery mod.

I don't know if the P2 when released will have a Verizon option so I'm still hoping to find something with good battery life worth upgrading to without wasting an upgrade. I'd also love the ZenFone 3 Max which only has a 4100mah battery.
