?two boot animations? - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone starts with a boot image and after that a MIUI boot animation appears. This all started after flashing one custom ROM and although I deleted it and flashed a new one with SP Flash the boot static picture still comes up.
How can I get rid of this "first" boot image? (The rom I installed was XGAMER Final. From here - http://www.movilesdualsim.com/tema/rom-xgamer-final.74465/)

There is a thread at movilesdualsim, but you will have to translate it.

I haven't tried it as the bootscreen doesn't bother me.

That is exactly what I looked for! Thanks! Should I just flash that file under TWRP?

Getting 'error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure' after this
Hello I am new to flashing custom ROM's. Have flashed 2 devices successfully so tried it on my Micromax Canvas A116. Flashed MERE Rom, but wanted to go back to the stock ROM because I had wifi connection issues with MERE. Successfully restored nandroid backup, but my phone ended up with two boot animations. I used the file from moviedualsim because the uploader said it would work on any android phone. My phone now fails to read the internal SD card even in CWM recovery mode. I cannot do a factory reset from the phone backup & restore either. I tried to flash a stock Micromax A116 ROM, but still get the 'error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure' problem. Can anyone help please?

Hung on G1 Screen - I Did a Bad Thing

I updated the Cyanogen Mod to 4.2.6, which worked fine. However, I then went into the Cyanogen Updater to get the Dark Dream 1.5 theme (not realizing that it is a theme for CM 4.2.5).
Now when I go to restart my phone, it gets hung up on the G1 screen. I can still get into the recovery screen, but it aborts everything I try, so I cannot wipe and re-install a ROM. I can get into the console, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for there. I can also get into the boot-loader screen, but am unable to do anything. HBoot Mode shows that there are a bunch of missing images and then pops me back to FastBoot screen. I am wondering if anyone can offer a suggestion on how to get my phone working again.

If you can into recovery you should be able to fix it by applying the cyanogen update again, if not use fastboot to restore a nandroid backup

While I can boot into the recovery mode, nothing seems to work. I try a wipe; comes up "Wipe Aborted." Same thing happens when I try to apply the update again.
I am going to see if I can re-install the cyanogen update from the console, as it seems like that is the only the working in the recovery mode. Unfortunately I don't have a nandroid backup to use. Thanks for the suggestion.
Which recovery image are you using?

You can download a nandroid image to fastboot of the official rom directly from HTC for the ADP1 phone. Download the Android 1.6 "System Image" from http://developer.htc.com/adp.html You may have to reinstall a custom recovery image afterwords. Then you can upgrade to any rom you want.
If you need to, you can download the latest recovery image here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=566669 and install using the fastboot method.

[HELP] Stuck at HTC logo after installing bacon on unofficial CMod

What I did
1. Install unofficial CMod
2. Installed baconbits
Problem after bacon bits install on unofficial CM: i boot up the phone but it gave me an error/popup for every application i was running "google voice has encountered an error" "com.android has encountered an error" etc etc. endless popups to where i couldnt do anything on the phone other than locking and unlocking it.
what i tried to do to fix it:
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Tried applying Stock Recovery, thinking it would somehow help
current problem: stuck at HTC logo
please help! i just want to get it back up and running, any rom... rooted or not. i cant even get into the phone
Wow u really messed up.
Idk how to truly guide u out of this because it seems like u really don't know what ur doing. But your going to have to restore the phone. Read the thread about unrooting and returning to stock.
Also if I'm not mistaking you can fastboot flash system.img and data.img from pc10img.zip but as I said idk 100%
And flashing stock recovery is a no no because it can only read htc zips so it will block you out from flashing a new update.zip
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Can you get into fastboot? Power the phone down and hold VolDown+Power.
Flashing baconbits over a non-official CM 6.1 was a mistake.... Baconbits is just an addon for a stock rom... CM 6.1 will have everything that baconbits has and more...
yes i can get into fastboot. problem is finding a htc signed rom... i think
If you are still S-OFF, you can flash clockwork mod recovery using fastboot and then just boot into recovery and install whatever rom...

Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
did a wipe, stuck at htc logo. didnt know i could just flash the cm file with clockwork... thought i had to use the clockwork rom manager when the phone is booted up. flash stock recovery, for some reason, i dont know. cried for an hour. called tmobile, had them send me a replacement. now on the phone telling them to cancel first android phone so im a noob, be kind

[Q] Stuck on my Touch Splash Screen

Hi, I have rooted my phone and have s off. I've purchased rom manager and installed clockworkmod 3 and have backed up my phone.
When I try to flash the latest cyanogenMod Nightly I run into problems.
The phone gets wiped and updates and then it gets stuck at the Tmobile my touch splash screen. I've left it there for 10 minutes and still no cyanogen.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks
Also I'm able to go back into recovery mode and restore my backup. So my phone is currently back in stock rom.

If you successfully backed up your phone you are not using Clockwork ROM Recovery 3.x. It's a well known fact that that Recovery image has problems backing up Nandroids, or restoring them for that matter.
What color was the text when you were in recovery? Orange or green?
Its Green, so I have clockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.2
So I need to update to the 3.x and I should be good?
Also to do a successfull back up of my nandroid I go to "backup and restore" and then select "backup"?
Thanks again for your help

if you are wanting CM7 yes you need to flash Clockwork ROM 3.0 via the Fastboot ADB commands. If you are wanting your phone to work you can flash of any of the other ROMS as of right now.
Clockwork ROM 3.x will not do nandroid back ups in it's current state. As Gingerbread comes closer to being an official or RC i'm sure they make sure it can do nandroids. nor will 2.x do nandroids of CM7. but to answer your question you are correct.

You are correct. See my thread here For the easiest way to install 3.0.0.5. And yes you can use Rom Manager for backups while on 2.5.1.2 but Rom Manager isnt compatable with flashing or backups for 3.0.0.5. You must use recovery.

I rooted, made a back up with Clockwork ROM Recovery 3.x. , flashed CM7 and everything was fine. Then I flashed Kernel_2.6.32.27grankin01-CM-GB-OC-v0.09 and when I unlocked the screen everything started force closing on a black screen. I locked the screen again, powered off and on again then it got stuck on the splash screen. I restored my back up and it's stuck on splash screen still. Then I tried to flash Kernel 2.6.32.21grankin010OC0v0.05 thinking my back-up might need a stock kernel. I am a super noob at this, I have successfully flashed roms to my tab before, but I've only been learning about this for about a month. I've been searching and searching but can't seem to find a solution. Am I screwed?

IMHO opinion you are not screwed.
When flashing custom Kernels you need to have a program like SetCPU so you can govern the CPU speed. To fast of a speed or to slow of a speed and it will not boot correctly. You need to flash a different version of CM7 than you are using now, via the recovery screen. make sure to wipe the handset first. that should reset the Kernel to one that Zinx knows works with the phone.
As well i wouldn't recommend flashing kernels with Nightlies. They are unstable as it. and you need to make sure the kernel is compatible with Nightly you are using. And you can over clock them to 1.5Ghrzf from w/ in the ROM.

Hmm that's weird, have you tried re flashing your recovery maybe something is broken there? have you tried other roms? If using TWRP try to update it or change to CWM or vice versa
Yea I updated to 2.6.3.4 which as of my knowledge is the latest
Sorry for my noobness :/ it is really bugging me as I think it has something to do with having cyanogen installed before but then again after pursuing the flash tool and restoring back to stock I can't think what is wrong
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
Double Flash seemed to fix it
I flashed the ROM after returning to stock again and before flashing it wiped all partitions and it still stuck on boot so i went straight back into recovery and flash again this time without wiping anything as i was only writing over the StockMOD install and it seems to work
So the solution for me seemed to me to flash it twice wiping before the first and after it fails to boot just flash it again without wiping.
I now have it up and running and I'm very happy with it
Thanks for those who tried to help me much appreciated

How to change boot logo/splash image?

Hi,
I am currently using Miui 7 (V 6.4.28).
I wanted to try ED300 CM 12.1. So I did a full backup of the ROM>format all>Flashed the new ROM. But I see that the Miui boot image/splash image still present there, even if I completely erased all the partition.
Question is, how I can flash the boot image of Lenovo a6000/plus? Additionally, can someone also provide the new Lenovo stock boot logo. I somewhat like that more.
Thanks.

Thats due to the twrp 3.0.0 which was included with MIUI 7. Just flash this old twrp 2.8.6.1 version by sevenmax.

his worked for me. I read a bit about where the splash image is stored, but couldn't find the right location, since it depends on boot partitions and is not just any jpg file stored at some particular location. But, all thanks to you, I got to know how to replace it.
I'm having exams right now, but I'll surely be making some custom splash images for our phone. Thanks a lot.
And, one more thing, do we need to add all those manifest, otcert, releasekey and stuff in the META-INF folder or just update-binary and updater-script will do.? :silly:

No, you don't need those files. Update-binary and updater-script is all you need in meta-inf folder. I was just too lazy to remove those files ?
