Man you are a trooper. I have some limited experience but i'm happy to help out wherever i can

Latest alpha f2fs ready flashable ZIP, for those who'd like to test it on their f2fs grouper: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zrlbyjv1twvr7ex/alpha18.zip?dl=0
All credits where they're due, i'm doing nothing more than a copy/paste and sharing it so there's more testers.
They're doing an amazing job, and it's really getting somewhere, it's running faster and smoother with every releases.
Posted here to not pollute the dev thread.

@manuelemaboul would you make a f2fs zip for alpha 19 please? ?
Thanks in advance
keep calm and have a Nexus

Here's the new one https://www.dropbox.com/s/e84trdrbz3wsypy/alpha22-1.zip?dl=0

Booting failed
Hello,
I've tried to boot last two releases, but I get only Booting failed message on my screen and nothing more.
I'm running android 5.0.2. To flash device I've used fastboot and erased cache partition after flashing but this didn't help. What I'm doing wrong?

Got it fully working and I feel like an idiot.
For other who are new here (just like me), please remember to flash boot.img not the whole zip file.
Cheers!

Hello, is this kernel compatible with tilapia (3g) version of Nexus 7? TIA

Constantly get reboots on Skype video calls on Alpha 35 (yeah, there are already newer kernel, but problem may be persistent, will try this out soon). I run rooted stock 5.0.2 ROM with no other modifications.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/vdypxv18d12fyfm/agnostic-nv-31-grouper-alpha37.1.zip?dl=0 here it is with HTCdreamon's initramfs, this one will boot.

By the way, I recommend Frank alpha 9 by sykopompos with system ext4 + journaling disabled, /data /cache f2fs with this kernel. Fastest grouper ever and it stays fast, syko patched the framework's mem leaks and it's the fastest and smoothest combo out there after having tested all the ROM and kernel combo. Best 3D bench score either, even compared with another that have GPU and CPU OC.

Sounds interesting, specially the patching of the mem leaks...Where can I find it? Also can I flash it on a rom that is ALL-F2FS? Thanks again!

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95887005526788148 just convert /system back to ext4 and you'll be good to go.
Here's the flashable ZIP to disable ext4 journaling on /system, it makes it as fast as F2FS https://www.dropbox.com/s/e55upiij1q4rxtp/JournalingDisabler.zip?dl=0

[Q] flashing CM9

when installing CM9 to your defy is it the same process for flashing CM7 or is there a slight variation or something?
Now why would you open a new thread for this question?
i realised that i could've directly asked on the actual CM9 thread, only after i'd just posted this thread, sorry.

The original thread was Dev based, about the ROM being released and how stable it is as released. This thread was noob based about how to flash said ROM and if it is different from another, very similar ROM.
Why clutter one thread when you can have two?
Anyway, to answer the question instead of of questioning the question, Yes the basic principle is the same. Once you have the System Recovery installed, it's a case of copying the CM9 zip file to your SD card and flashing the same as CM7, although the way I've personally done it is using Multiboot, so that I can normally use CM7 for "production" but can have a go and see how CM9 is progressing for a few minutes or so.
The Multiboot thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364659

Reboot and press vol- when you seen blue light. You'll be taken to the bootmenu. It's stated in there version of your current bootmenu.
And yes you need to change it speaking of compatibility..

I flashed stock full sbf 2.2.2
Rooted using superoneclick
Installed scndInitvs2.0 which gave an option of installing either 0.6.5 or 1.0.7 bootmenu. So chose 1.0.7
Rebooted a couple of times.
Did factory reset , cleared cache and cleared dalvik cache in that order.
applied 12-07 CM9 zip
and rebooted
but my phone is stuck on the M logo!
Thanks! As I want to try the Dec. 7 nightly just for testing purposes. Thanks again!

Just tried latest Alucard Kernel but there is still issues with bluetooth. Eg. when connected to my car stereo.
Connecting is good but when car radio turned off, smartphone music still playing. Does not stop and also
not disconnect bluetooth. Must do manually.
Now quickly tried the 1.13d which seems to work perfecly. But did not test on long run.
I'm on AOKP and build in Kernel has same issue than the latest alucard.
What version to use.
Which version would i use for liquidsmooth? AOSP or AOSP (cm) , since its heavily based on cyanogenmod
hi. @Alucard i like your kernel but the charged led light arent on when usb is pluged on a reboot or boot i must first cut the usb and plug it again then it works.. i think many cm or slim roms have a led control inside.. ps. on last googymax it works.

Still storage errors on Stock TW 4.4.2. Sd and external Sd are empty but with other kernels or alucard 2.1 or older its working. would send logs or whatever needed to solve this issue
Can't boot on F2FS with SlimSaberKat

Strange. I have exactly the same configuration, come from dirty flashes of Slim. Everything is working.
Did you restore data from other ROM with, for instance, Titanium Backup?

I totally forgot to mention that i multi-boot with the DualBootPatcher. Well, they have some special cases for flashing Alucard onto one of these other boot partitions. However, this patching must have been from earlier versions of KK ROMS and kernels because it patched the init binary which is not compatible with the kernel.
i got it working by doing some manual work with the patcher. To be clear, the problem was NOT anything to do with this kernel.
Thanks for the reply, though.
I still get the note to reset my phone due to an unsuccessful encryption, after flashing the AOSP v2 9/11 kernel to my CM11 M11 rom.
I have already flashed the kernel multiple times.
It works flawless with the 18/10 kernel.
Any tips ?
Hi guys, my external sd card is formatted using ext4, I have no problem reading the sdcard with KT kernel, but since it has been out of date for a long time I tried Alucard, but it did not mount my external sd card. If I flash KT kernel everything works fine, does anybody have an idea of how to make work with alucard?
I am running Dan's M9 at the moment.

You must use AOSP V1 kernel (Obsolete)...
Thanks, That is the one I was trying to use. As far as I understand the new ones v2 would not work since they are based on the new cm sources. Any other idea?

This kernel is for the 2012 Nexus 7 (grouper). The 2013 Nexus 7 (flo) is a different device and has it's own dedicated forum, make sure you are going there to kind a compatible kernel for your device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013
Hello running latest purity on f2fs and running m kernel, any suggestion on undervolting the GPU and CPU?
Sent from my nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Hopefully you will enable the sio scheduler as opposed to excluding it entirely. It may not have extreme read or write speeds, as it's more balanced, but it has the lowest latency due to its tiny overhead.
Great kernel nonetheless, managed 5-7 hours of SoT (7 if in continuous use) after undervolting it, and running it at 1.4ghz. Hopefully the LP build will be even better. It runs super smooth at 1.2ghz, can't wait to be able to undervolt it and get even more SoT, because right now, LP gives me the same SoT as PA 4.6 plus M-Kernel.
With kernel tweaker, stock rom 5.0 and a72 it is all ok
I'm running stock rom with all f2fs and a72, it's run smooth but I must press power button more than once to wake up from sleep...
Touch2wake
Running stock 5.0.2 with f2fs data partition only and loving it. Seems to have the issues fixed that made 5.0 uber-laggy. DEFINITELY recommend updating to any debating it (although this is only day one, so I'll respond again after long term testing). Was wondering tho about Touch2wake. Really liked it when I had kit-kat installed and was wondering if it'd be possible to have it brought back, even as a setting that is off by default but can be turned on via some setting. Thanks for the hard work!
does kernel have a problem with overflow of wakelocks "baseband_xmm_power" ?
m-kernel
i got a question on my nexus 7 3g 2012 5.0.2
i have install the latest m kernel but my device only run one core and the cpu cap at 1500
have anyone have this problm and solution
sorry for my poor english
planing s2w /dt2w?
Will there be s2w (sweep2wake) on Lollipop kernel? Asking for it is my only reason not switching to Lollipop. Power drain is not an issue for me, as i can charge device every night no problem. (I have made Tasker scripts shortcuts (following suggestings there http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232732) to easy change wake timeout if i need battery).
Bootloop too.
CM12 + a74 + f2fs(data/cache)
Can I flash a73 on 4.4 all2fs rom via TWRP 2.8.5?
Android 5.1
With the recent update to android 5.1 I understand you have a version running on 5.0, but will a new update be coming out?
@Metoo18
Exactly the same here, CM12 with data and cache F2FS. Flashing a74 causes freeze on Google logo.
Hmm, maybe we have to change also system partition to F2FS? I tried to flash Phantom Kernel r2 for LP but I also got bootloop :/
a69 problem
i can't install a68 and a69 on kitkat but i can install correctly a67; maybe zips are corrupt, qhere i can find an a69 zip correct?
It's most likely the battery connector, it has happened to me not once, but TWICE. Two times I have had to open my Nexus 7 to push the connector into the header (there was only some slight contact).
Recently I have filled the gap and thus the battery connector will never unplug itself.

Bootloop on DirtyUnicorn
Hi , nice work. I've been using HellsDoctor and the battery life is just amazing... but, when I try to flash TARDIS I got bootloop.
Running DirtyUnicorns[Du_mako_4.4.4_20140823.v.7.9-OFFICIAL] and 3.4.104-hells-Doctor-R6.
I am sure I've followed the steps and also I tried some combinations by myself but still isn't working.
Thx in advance.

CM version
Hello, and thanks for this awesome kernel!
I was trying to flash Dirty Unicorns and Hell's Doctor today, but all kinds of strange behavior ensued. (namely: I lost my display, while ADB could see the device normally).
I flashed the CM version, so am I correct to believe that I should flash the AOSP one?

I will answer my own question here, based on the search in DU's thread:
We need:
- AOSP kernel version
- Revert_4.4.3_Wifi_Fix.zip from http://bit.ly/makostuff (thanks @gorilla p )
and If you want to flash TARDIS, chose CAF dalvik libs.
Tested with HD3_R6 on DU 8.1 & 8.2 and all is well.
Hello,I just wanna ask is this kernel working on aosp lollipop? Which version should I use?
I would also recommend checking out Unleashed kernel along with the latest UKM 3.5 for Synapse.
What does this mean. Every time I open synapse it pops up.LRX21M with hells Dr3-R6.

I have clean flashed Lollipop on my N4. Can I simply download the kernel, tardis, and UKM and flash them as per usual, like on KitKat?
I've read through the original thread and it appears some people are talking about a "permissive" boot image? What for? Do I need it or not?
How do I flash this on a clean Lollipop install? It's not clear.
Thanks for the help
I'm having problems with the battery like someone reported before.
The Wi-Fi seems to appear active even if I shutdown.
Some search boxes when are suggesting options the image appears strange.
As I am a new user I can't post images.
Can you include volume rocker wake phone, please?
@AnaguaMateus The volume rocker is included in the N5X-ROM

YES it is working on AOSP Lollipop Also you should use the latest L version (L11 for the moment) in combination with the TARDIS-L-Aroma

It means that your N4 didn't shut down properly last time so Synapse isn't applying the parameters you've set in the last session/boot

I think the easiest way for you is to install HellsCore Kernel Manager intead of Synapse, the most important parameters are configurables and you don't need to deal with those permissive boot images, UKM, and flash things ;P

Hi barome, congratulations on this awesome kernel.
Are there plans for releasing L kernel CM based, so we can use it with liquidsmooth?
Thanks
Cpu min set to 1.5ghz
I have a problem with the latest L12 kernel. When using tricksterMOD or any other kernel tweaker app, the minimum cpu frequency is set to 1.5ghz. And I can't seem to make it lower because it jumps back to 1.5ghz immediately. What shall I do?
Stuck on logo of Hells Doctor
I flashed the kernal ad TARDIS mod on my nexus 4. but now I am stuck on logo screen of HD by Barome. Help me
Boot into recovery (hold power for 10 seconds to reboot, then volume down to go into fastboot mode) and then flash your ROM again.
Reboot to see if it boots ok, then flash HD, without TARDIS. If this boots successfully, flash TARDIS, with extra care to choose the correct dalvik (if applicable)

[ROM, Kernel, Recovery][6.0/5.X/4.4.4][P7300/P7310] Jolie contributions

Hello,
I open this thread to continue the great work of @OmarEinea and kasper with his kernel. I will try to update all possible ROMs with a new kernel improvements and all what we can add to this good setup. Kernel has new cherry picks from Faux, loosethisskin, A1 and others.
New Marshmallow ROMs here
Actually, we are very happy with AOSP ROMs that decatf build for P75xx. They are not perfect and there are a few issues. Known bugs:
Mobile data not working for p5 users
OC upper that 1400 MHz cause reboots and instability.
SELinux is completely disabled in my ROMs (we don't have a working modern TWRP yet)
Maybe other bugs and issues, but in general, p5wifi ROM works fine for a daily use, gaming, etc.
Current Lollipop 5.1.1 ROMs (AOSP, decatf's build) (in beta state)

Great, thanks for keeping our tab alive!
Just a question, is this rom as buttery smooth as stock Samsung 4.0.4? In the past I've tried many different roms with JB and above but none of them reached the silkness of touchwized ics rom, so I had to revert back to ics...

This ROM is smooth. If you're into gaming and this sort of thing then I suggest you stick to stock ICS for that but for all other tasks this ROM performs well. I played a downloaded HD video and it played smoothly...no hiccups/stutters as are found in previous releases. HD video from the YouTube site also plays smoothly. I don't use the app so I wouldn't know how it works with it but I'm guessing they should play OK. The best thing to do is to try it out and see if it works for you. Take a nandroid backup before you do so reverting will be easier if you don't like this ROM.

You're welcome. I think @L3R0N is right, this ROM probably isn't the most smooth for our tab, but I played to some games, surfed the internet and seems very good to me. You know, all software is evolving very quickly, so you never will feel the same smoothness as before. But we will try to improve as much as we can.
All suggestions are welcome.

And even Stock ICS wasn't buttery smooth. By games I meant the likes of NOVA 3, Asphalt 8 and Dead Trigger 2. I played some games as well and they were OK. Even tried beach buggy blitz and it ran surprisingly well with an occasional frame skip at times. For a smoother experience I set all animations to 0.25 and I use nova launcher prime with animations set to stock and sometimes I change it to faster than light. Processor is over clocked of course with hw overlays disabled and force GPU rendering on. Along with the tweaks included in this ROM performance is pretty smooth to me.
Playing with LiquidSmooth by @deadman96385.
It boots with f2fs and my latest kernel
I was asking because I've tried every combination with JB roms and above, but none reached the smoothness of stock ics. I don't usually play games beside some casual easy game. I meant smoothness in transitions, animations and scrolling. Tried Nova and every possible setting but no way.
I'm so eager to have a rom >4.0 but stutters and lags pushed me to stay with ics.
Not a complain at all, just asking because I'd like to move on a newer os, but if it's not yet there I'd save me all the format and restore of everything (not to say that to go back to ics is not as easy as flashing a newer rom because new folder layout).
Thanks.

Now that is awesome news. One suggestion though, I think you should use the Pico Modular Gapps package instead since it has less apps that people like me won't bother to use(Google Photos, Google Experience Launcher, Hangouts etc...). These can easily be downloaded later if the user has need for them.
But hopes up for the Liquid smooth ROM. I will port Omni and see how it plays out with your kernel(non f2fs).

Ok, thanks. Tried Omnirom long time ago...
Will convert pico gapps for this release. Liquidsmooth is "smooth" I only see some force closes on performance app (I don't need it) and in other settings like recents... But it's a great ROM. Will flash gapps now...

Oh...then I'm not going to waste time on it then. Noticed that AAccount said he won't be able to keep updated as much anymore. So I'm not going to waste time on a ROM that may not be updated further.

I also have updated all URLs in first post with a new folder tree in my server. It's more organized now

That's great!! Will wait for a 3g version so I can test. Great to see this ole girl is still getting some ROM love. The previous f2fs gapps worked with both ext4 and f2fs ROMs. Tried, tested and proven to work.

True, never had problems with stock ICS. All other roms I've tried pale in comparison to the smoothness and performance of the stock. That's why this is worth trying out since feedback is good.

Nameless comes from homemade versions (thread and link).
Liquidsmooth is the first alpha release for P75xx (check the first post).
I followed the instructions for installing the liquid smooth rom. Rom first - boot - then gapps. First impressions seem very good. I couldnt get superuser to work. I installed supersu zip and app and that appears to be working OK. I havent had any FC's yet. I have gone through the liquidsmooth performance settings OK. Just installed all my apps so will run for a while and see how it goes.
The link for twrp with f2fs support for the p5 doesn't work anymore. Clicking it results in this message:
The requested URL /android/galaxy-tab/twrp2710_p5_f2fs.zip was not found on this server.
Not that I need it again because I already have it but I'm sure there are others out there who do.

Yep. SuperSU works fine for me too.
Do you know more hacks or improvements that we can try to do? I tried to port FIOPS scheduler, but it's almost impossible for me (I'm not a C expert)...
Tab was stuck in bootloop so I reverted to Stock ICS and now the nameless rom won't flash via twrp. I'm lost as to why this is since it worked well before. Attached is the recovery log I pulled after the failed installation.
