Download mtk droid tool
Sent from my HM NOTE 1W using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I googled and downloaded MtkDroidTools v2.5.3 from mediafire. But, Kaspersky gave a warning on the file. My note won't get detected on the PC running on Win 7 64 bit.

Extract and navigate to folder:
\All MTK USB Driver 2014\All MTK Drivers\New inst. win 7&8x64\
and install according to your system.
If it doesnt solve problem, try other folders. Above one worked for me.

There is one way for installing it.
You need to have a drive from your phone something like mobiledrive (in stock 2.3 or search google for android driver)
They you go to start and type device manger.
Then you find your phone in the list and rightclick and choose install.
Go to the drive and in one of that folders there is the drivers. And install it.
Sorry for my bad english

Search for naked driver in the forum and update you drivers.
Also use MTP checked in settings, It will prompt you to choose when you connect the phone to pc. :good:

Nexus 4 and Windows 8.1

Hi. I recently switched to Windows 8.1 on my laptop. From this moment on, my Nexus 4 is unrecognizable by the PC. I've tried everything. Seached the whole internet, but did not find a solution to my problem. Is anybody else experiencing the same problems as I am? Is there anyone who can help? Thanks!!!

You mean MTP?
Try uninstalling any related drivers, and try again. Or try changing the USB port.
Yes MTP. Tried both. Still nothing...

Was it a fresh install of Windows 8.1? Did you disable windows update?
Is it an unofficial copy of Windows 8.1? In that case, it could be an OS problem..
Mine is working great on win 8.1 64bit with the latest Windows update. Make sure to install Android SDK (check the Android version you are running).

I've tried all drivers out there. I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro N 64 bit version and the phone is running PA 4.0 beta. Did the same thing with 4.3 as well....
