i flashed my nexus 4 with the lolipop image from google right when it was released !
i have the kitkat launcher... or what is it called,i dont have google launcher,or ambient display
why i dont have all the features the rest of the users have ?

Get the launcher from Google play. It wasn't included in the factory image.

Hello all,
as of 17th of April, google released Google Camera on 4.4+ devices
I have the note 3 N9005 but I can't download the google camera as my device is not compatible with it
I'm on official samsung 4.4.2
so what could be the issue?
I live in Malaysia.

I can download and install it without a problem, tried clearing data of the google play app in settings/apps/all apps and rebooted? Or look on google play on the pc and check which devices are checked in settings.

I was using the web-based version, since the android version doesn't even show the google camera.

i also faced this..donno may b sum google restriction for non-google phones?...anyway downloaded the apk from a website...lense blur feature doesnt seems to work for me so well,,,,

Maybe. Some manufacturers uses the build.prop data to offer their apps and updates on Google Play, so you can have problems updating those apps. Nexus owners won't have any problem.

IF you revert the build.prop the Google Assistant will be replaced with Google Now on Tap.

Okay in that case better to just use magisk, going to make a module real quick.
Replaced my build.prop with your and it did nothing but add a Vendor error on startup and a Voice icon on the Pixel launcher for my 6P. What'd I do wrong? Running latest Google app and OctOS ROM

Same with me for just the voice icon, although I don't get the vendor error on the Nexus 6.

Glad to know I'm not the only one lol... Didn't get the vendor error before either.
The assistant is working, but Im getting soft reboots when I use it. Nexus 6 running Pure Nexus Nougat.

you can't edit the build prop without root.
Editing build prop requires root access
Google Camera is force closing as well... Can someone upload a stock Nexus 6P build prop?

But you need to enable every permission to google app.

Yes the OK google detection faces some problem in the g assist. Mine one is grayed out.

You try saying OK google and then set the assistant and then restart the phone.
Or clear the google app data and cache from settings. And then restart and then set up the assistant through voice and then restart

Thank you very much for the guide. I successfully installed Google assistant on CM 14.1 for my Redmi 1s. Can you please tell updating cm ROM via ota work fine after installing Google assistant or one has to install Google assistant every time after ROM update? Is is compatible with CM ROM / Mokee ROM running Android 7.1.1 ?

Every time obviously and ota updates of custom Roms are actually ota. You have fresh install them

I purchased some themes on my note 5 and now i cant find them on my s8 in the Samsung theme store. I am assuming this is a software compatibility issue. Does anyone if the themer updates it i will be able to use and find it again?

A lot of themes aren't compatible with nougat, could be the problem. I used to use the material dark theme but does not play well with nougat so stuck with stock theme.
