[Q] I'm dumb and my Lgg2 says security error - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Verizon lgg2 says security error. I'm not really sure how to fix it. And if someone could really help me I need my phone working for my job. Can someone help me?
Edit: I got the Factory Hard reset thing to pop up, what should I do?
Edit 2: Hello? Anyone?

Were you on stock software or did you modify your phone? What Rom if you did modify your phone? What were you doing before you restarted and got that error?

All the security error means is the bootloader detected something that isn't stock. They locked the loader on the G2 on newer stock roms, so no custom recovery or roms can be loaded, just giving up that security error.
Your best bet is to use download mode to reflash the stock firmware, if you can't load into the OS. If you can load the OS, or after flashing, use freegee and it will automatically downgrade your bootloader to one that can use customs.
There's plenty of tutorials out there for this, google is your friend.

Failed TWRP causing phone glitches?!?!?

I need help!
I tried to put TWRP on my Galaxy S4 using Flashify. I just followed the instructions and it downloaded the .img file. I then pressed flash and it flashed fine. Then it said reboot so i rebooted it. It came up with the "Samsung Custom" with the unlocked padlock like it normally does, but then it changed to a screen that said there was an error with the kernel and that i needed to connect the phone to my computer and run some Android recovery. I took the battery out and then rebooted into the page where you go to flash a custom OS. (Tried to go to recovery mode, wrong button combo). I then hit cancel and suprisingly, it booted up just fine. Kinda. After i unlocked the lock screen, I noticed that most of the apps are gone, system and downloaded. I also was bombarded with "Unfortunately, ________ has stopped." Messages. Most of the apps that are left work, except for messaging for some reason. I am writing this thread from the phone, actually. The Internet works fine, except that some apps i reinstalled via APK don't want to connect to the internet. Phone, contacts, internet, and camera still work. I know i am a noob and i shouldnt have tried to do this without help or more research. I will encolse screen shots of my phones specs if needed. If anyone reading this could just point me in the right direction, i would be extremely grateful. I can post any extra information and answer any questions you may have. Sorry for being a noob but i dont know where else to ask and i cant find any similar threads. Thank you in advance!
I assume you might have one of the models with a locked bootloader?

At this point you can only flash a stock rom.
Or somehow get recovery to work and then flash a custom rom. Safetrap recovery might work.

Friend, say please:
1. You phone ROOTed?
2. Recovery you phone stock or custom?
3. You phone S-ON or S-OFF ?
4. Bootloader you phone LOCKED?
Unroot your phone, flash back to stock recovery, relock it, change CID if possible, reflash stock android rom.
Follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-...allow-t3480444

Please forgive my English, too, but that's not the point, is not it?

I think it is something to do with mobicore.
New update has some New additional security.
Somewhere in system/app/mcregistry.
But sorry I don't have the solution.
If you guys can find out.
I think there is something wrong with the HTC update file itself. I took my mobile to the local authorized workshop and they tried several times but also without any luck. One of their brilliant staff said it might be the board!!.
That is also what i think. Htc update file itself have an issues or broken that need to be checked and re-compile.
Any update???

Cant get past fastboot screen

Hey guys so i was on stock lg v20 software and i recently rooted and didnt realize that i would loose wifi calling... I tried to do a factory reset but that was a mistake... ATM i currently can get into bootloader mode and fastboot but i am not able to do anything else but that... For some reason when i mount on bootloader the internal storage doesnt even show up... Im not sure what to do at this point I dont think i can just reset back to stock because there isnt no firmware... I know there is a krz file that i downloaded i used to the flasher software but it didnt do anything for some reason i put my phone into download mode and it would be stuck at 0 percent... I was on the h910 model but now its saying us966 for some reason. I can also note that i tried to install the deox rom or whatever it is and it would say it was installed but when i reboot to system it just goes back into fastboot can anyone help me with this? I realized i screwed up but is there anything i can do? I can contact att and get a replacement but i dont know if they will do it since the bootloader is on there.

Umm try getting back into Recovery if you've already flashed TWRP. Pull battery out, hold down POWER and VOL DOWN at the same time, the second that the LG logo pops up, let go of power and hold it back down again really quick. If you do it right, you will get a factory reset screen. Say yes to both screens. If you are unsure that you have TWRP flashed, reflash TWRP from fastboot. If you are able to get to TWRP, do a clean wipe [(dalvik, boot, system, cache) + (format data)] then flash your desired rom.
I don't know anything about going back to stock, especially since I'm on the Sprint variant. Good luck.

I had the similar problem, Im on the sprint variant. If you can access the boot loader. Run Step 3 of the dirty Santa method. this will install the TWRP recovery again, if somehow it is corrupt. After that, download the stock from for your h910 model and place it on an SD card. Flash it and see if that fixes it.
At least with this you will know that it is most likely a firmware issue.
Note: if after you install TWRP and it just hangs on the LG logo, at some given point, you can run the command via your respected operating system.
adb reboot recovery
and that should kick you into TWRP.
This is not an answer to your question, but you should not lose wifi calling from just rooting. Stock based ROMs should also have wifi calling working.
well dang for some reason my wifi calling wasnt working and ik for a fact that the fm radio wasnt working also not that i need it anyways. Well what i did was call att and thank god there sending me a replacement so im going to send this one back when i get the new one i would like to root the new phone but I do not want to lose wifi calling if i do it again i doubt ill be able to get another replacement lol. Is there a easier way to root possibly? And I cant download a stock firmware because i basically cant find one for my phone I have no way to go back to stock so a rom is only option Im going to try this one more time just to check it im going to download a rom for my phone and ill check it

You may want to check out this thread. If you can't get out of this situation you should also consider not rooting your next device.

Help flashing and rooting Chinese S5 SM-G9006V

Ok guys, I'm really confused. I got this phone from a friend and the backstory was that it was once rooted and running a custom rom with google play apps, but someone did a hard reset or something and it went back to stock, which is hard to believe, but that's what they're telling me. If the info is correct, that means someone successfully flashed it at some point.
I found this guide https://www.lineageosroms.org/forums/forum/samsung/galaxy-s5-china-sm-g9006v-sm-g9008v-kltechn/ and got stuck right away. I can't get TWRP to work. Odin says it's done, but all I get is the stock recovery.
I found multiple threads about this phone, but it's all very confusing to say the least and I don't know where to begin with. I hope there's someone here using it who can give me some pointers as to how I can flash this thing.
Thanks in advance.
EUREKA! I've done it. All i had to do is uncheck the auto reboot option and use the key combination for entering recovery while still in the download mode. That got me to TWRP and I was able to successfully flash the rom and gapps.
Hope that info is useful to someone else.

SM-J320A "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone."

SM-J320A "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone."
Hey guys,
After trying to flash TWRP via the app I am now getting the error message "System software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone. Please turn off your phone and go to the nearest AT&T store for help." I get this error both when I try to boot normally and into recovery. I can get into download mode just fine. I've already tried to flash several different stock ROMs as well as different recovery mode ROMs. I always get an error that says "(Secure Check Fail: Recovery)" or "(Secure Check Fail: Bootloader)" on the phone itself and Odin says that it didn't complete. My bootloader is locked, (I didn't think to unlock it/didn't know how to before this happened) and I'm totally ok if all of my data gets wiped. I've made backups of my important data, and I'm fine with starting over. (In fact, I plan on flashing a custom ROM afterward.)
Quick summary: Can't boot phone. Can't flash anything. Please help.
So I guess my questions are:
Did I do something wrong when flashing originally?
Is there a way to unlock the bootloader given my current predicament?
(Is that even the problem?)
What other options do I have?
Is this just a softbrick or is it totally gone?
If I can get it fixed, can I still use a custom recovery?
Thanks in advance,
P.S. I'm rather new to this area of Android. (Flashing things, custom ROMs, etc.) And I'm also rather new to online forums so please be patient. Thanks.

I don't think I was following a guide. I just took a quick look around the app, figured out what everything meant, and went for it. I was told that all j3 2016 models can use the same firmware so I think I used something for the J320FN. I don't know if that's important or not.

I have been on the pixel experience rom since when it was the only option. I guess I have some research to do if there is a twrp method now.
