[Q] Installing from Play Store - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I click install on install on the play store I get the option to 'Accept', then either stays on 'cancel install' for a few seconds or otherwise returns to the card giving me the install option. Am I missing something basic? It appears there is an error but it won't give me any sort of code.
Thanks

Nope your good. . Hit the home button and it should show you a card with that app installing. .

Right, but that wasn't installing anything it just dropped back to the card and gave the option to install. I power cycled it and now it's installing.

I'm guessing that you are using the OpnMarket app?. It ususally works OK for me (except wehen it refuses to connect). Did you just download an app then close OpnMarket or did you install it using OpnMarket too?
Here is how I use OpenMarket (sorry if It sounds like I'm trying to teach you how to suck eggs). I click on Download, the download percentage bar shows the status of the download then the Download button turns into install. I click install and it asks me to install on either the device or storage card. Hit ok after the successful install message appears and you get taken back to the OpnMarket app (with an uninstall option for your installed app). I close OpnMarket and press the Windows button on my HD2 and the application is at the bottom of the screen.
Hope this helps.

installation goes well until the time to click "Install" button.

Im using CM9 i have a problem with installing apps from my sdcard.
The installation goes well until the time to click "Install" button.
seems like that button has been disabled.
only "Cancel" button can be click.
currently the only way to install is directly from play store/market.
can someone help me or share your opinion on this problem. and yes, I have activated the option to install from unknown sources.
install problem
I wonder if you are running a brightness widget?
I had the exact same prob and found it was 'touch screen control' which i use for night reading, now if i am using it i disable it, install any progs and then reenable it...
hope this helps.
Dan.
I fixed it now. I made a early fully backup.I restored it and now it is ok ,it was weird thing.

Hi,
I have since solved both of these issues and to give an update for anyone else who has this. The issue with the system saying its been modified was to do with the sd card and simply turning off the phone removing the sd card then restarting the phone and putting the sd card back in fixed it. The issue with installing apps was cause by another app I had running that applied an overlay to the screen so be careful and check the app you have running.
Thanks
Thanks

What apk files are you trying to install? What happens when you click on them?

What happens when you do click on the apk files? You might have to clear defaults for your apps if you accidentally picked some app to open up apk's.

How would I clear defaults for my apps? And to answer your question the phone does nothing at all when you try to install the apks. The apk I'm trying to install is tube mate but Im wondering is it compatible with this version of android?

Go to Settings -> Applications -> Application Manager and select "More" in the top right of your screen. Now select "Reset app preferences"
After that give the install a try again.

Download pending... Infinitely on Google play store

So I have a redmi note 7 which i purchased locally on a store in Europe (so I assume it a European or international Rom- not sure if this is important).
I'm using stock, never rooted/unlocked so far.
Everything seems to work fine
Set up the phone smoothly, no hassles
But... Whenever I'm using play store to download any app I keep getting stuck on "download pending" message..
Yes I did my research: every time I want to install or update something ( always through play store) the only thing that seems to work is to go to "app info"
And delete all app data.
Reopen the app wait for a couple of seconds and then install/update.
Which is frustrating after a certain point.
I'm sure there's a better, more permanent way...
Anyone?
Remove your SD card and try again, sometimes your SD card can prevent apps downloading from Playstore!

I don't have a SD card installed
first check if there is any data caps on wifi or mobile networks , if not clear google play store data and it should work
try clear data app, and then delete your google account, open play store and login again when the application asks for it

Doesn't really work either...
But what I found to work is have wifi disabled-only data on then I have an option to "download now" and then turn on WiFi again and by a "miracle" the download continues...
Or when I download new apps while I have updates pending, I have to cancel the first "new" app for the updates to " kickstart" and then "reinstall" the above.
Kind of frustrating but
Most of the times this works
I think I found the bug or at least where its located... Kind of..
So whenever I'm trying to install a new app or update an existing one I get this "download pending" message..
First I stop the install/update them I go the "installed apps" on play store and I can still see some apps downloading pending despite I've just cancelled all downloads whatsoever...
Now I press the "x" to cancel the supposed update ( which never takes place because there's not an actual update) .
I notice that for a time period everytime I press the "x" some other installed apps randomly appear to "download pending".
After I start looking for all the reappearing "x" and pressing them then I go to the updates or the new app I want to install and proceed with installation without any further problems...
Until I have to install/update some time in the future...
Does this make any sense?
I had same issue on Redmi Note 7, too. I had LineageOS 16 and Gapps Nano (via TWRP). I tried to resolve this problem with everything I could find on google. Finally I did it with refleshing Gapps but to version Micro.
