INSTALLATION:
## IMPORTANT ##
DO NOT wipe the cache partition after the installation as this will break some functions, otherwise you will need to re-apply the latest update
for new users (fresh installation):
remember to make a backup first
I WILL NEVER format your partition or wipe anything for you (except reformat util), please wipe the system/data/cache partitons yourself before install
put the files in sdcard or external sd and install them in recovery (only tested with cwm)
after installed, you can start yTab Synapse Control and change any settings you desire
for existing users (applying updates):
check your current version by opening yTab Synpase Control and see if the version required for the update is met
install the update file in recovery
if applicable, you can apply more updates in the same recovery session without the need to reboot between updates
install multiple updates files in sequence according to the release dates with older files first
FAQ:
[1] how to wipe the partitions properly?
a) for cwm:
wipe and format options -> custom format options -> choose format /system, /cache and /data
b) for twrp:
wipe -> under select partitions to wipe page -> choose cache, data and system
[2] why only the back button at the top works but not others/no synapse can be found after installing yTab/synapse doesnt work properly?
a) most likely you have installed a custom busybox after installing yTab which breaks the predefined symlinks
- to solve this problem, see if it works after uninstalling the custom busybox
b) you have not wiped the partitions properly before installing yTab and thus causing problems with a mixture of old and new system and data
- as to fix this problem, please refer to FAQ #1 for a how to wipe the partitions properly
[3] could not find or missing VPN/google contacts sync/email/exchange, etc after yTab is installed
some apps were removed from the rom (debloated)
- please get them in the removed apps section below, or post a request for the apps you need if they are not available yet
[4] yTab Synapse Control always shows json parse error
get and upload the uci.log file to your online storage by issuing the following command in terminal emulator and then send the link to me via pm (do not paste the log contents in the pm, thanks)
Code:
rm /res/synapse/config.json; uci config > /sdcard/uci.log

Okay, thanks ?. Have flashed and is working well
I tried it and it works except for the vendor prebuilts e.g Aroma file manager. They all say "file doesn't exist, please reflash recovery", which doesn't fix it. I also tried compiling it myself, still the same error. Unpacked recovery image shows the files are included. So I have no clue what's causing it. Any one else have this problem?

We should appriciate every developers contribution. No one is paying anyone to do this. Devs invest their time in bringing this changes. So every effort should be welcome by the community.
Nothing can be 100% bug free infact many of your mods that you bring to the community is making our device better. Everyone should appriciate and help others learn and grow if they are into this.
As for rest of us we are enjoying the free ride and should appriciate the effort.

No matter what you are trying to do in here, they do what they want - they never change their mind for this. Almost everyone knows - Few Devs updated the rom and new o roms, but only the devs are using it, and its kept private - Great contribution. I don't want to get involved in here again and again...
Flashlight is not working?!!! Any solution?

By default the devs seem to be anti-piracy so put in some silly checks to see if you have any piracy apps installed, you can remove this nonsense and build it yourself by patching the relevant parts here: https://github.com/RedWolfRecovery/...a1d52468afe11f6d0ea63a461e/twrp-functions.cpp
Thanks for the tip. Howewer, you could make patch/diff file and add some info how you compiled it.
BTW check starts in line 1691 in mentioned file.
AFAIK, there are two functions to delete:
bool TWFunc::User_IS_Pirate_****(void)
bool TWFunc::Get_Pirate_Variable(void)
Thanks.

It is worse than that. If you have ever had any apps that they think are piracy apps installed, then you will left with a crippled phone - unless you "format data" (and lose all the contents of your internal SD).

Hi,
I can't boot Redwolf on my redmi 4x.. It was working before but one day, I updated miui.eu ROM and Redwolf wasn't working anymore. I made a clean flash of Global official MIUI but nothing changes. As well I downgraded firmware to v32 and nothing change too. I will try with v30 and keep you informed. It will be great if someone can help me ?
PS: Official TWRP works well
EDIT : flashing v30 firmware doesn't work
Get the latest Red-Wolf Recovery installation and review watch the video
