Ways to control with bluetooth? - Nexus Player Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know if we can use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to control this?

I've been using a wireless USB keyboard/mouse combo (Logitech K400) and I've tried a bluetooth keyboard and they all work fine, so a bluetooth mouse should work too.

perfect thanks... can't wait to see what this thing can do once its been out for a while and dev start working on it!!!

Bluetooth keyboard works.

Well, it does work on pc, I'm typing with it right now. I just bought it- batteries are fine. Like I said, mouse works on tablet but not the keyboard... any other ideas?
sorry not sure if u already fixed ur issue but I just bought a MK220 and it works fine with my N8010 . tips: restart the andorid while the logitech reciever is plugged in. if it doesnt work for some odd reason, take out the batteries of the mouse and plug in the reciever and restart. (this will not pair the mouse)
hope it works,

Tablet doesn't want to connect to bluetooth mouse

I bought a bluetooth mouse HP X4000b two days ago, and successfully paired it with my nexus 7 to see if it works with it. It worked. Afterwards I used it with my PC. Today, I made a nandroid restore, and tried to connect the mouse again. It didn't work. I removed it from paired devices and tried to pair it again. It does find the mouse as a bluetooth mouse, but when i click on it to pair it, nothing happens. I am 100km from my computer now, so I don't think they see each other
Please help, I would really need the mouse to work in the next few days.
If you could get your hands on an OTG-usb adapter cable you could attach a wired usb mouse or use a wireless mouse with a nano usb receiver. I know that doesn't fix your bt mouse, but it could be a workable alternative.

Pairing logitech mouse/keyboards w/ Unifying receiver on Ouya

If you have a logitech wireless keyboard or mouse, it's pretty easy to get it paired with the Ouya. There's no interface on the Ouya for it. You have to use a Windows machine and use the logitech software to pair the devices to a specific unifying receiver. Once it's paired on the windows machine, shutdown the computer. Remove the receiver, and stick it on the Ouya. Voila!
It appears that Logitech saves some configuration data on the tiny receivers, so that's how it works. I have a Logitech Mouse and keyboard on one receiver. Works great.

I don't think you have to install it on a PC first. The Mouse and Keyboard drivers are universal HUD drivers. Android (OUYA) comes preinstalled and fully configured to plug and play [ANY] mice and keyboard.
Here is what I use:
Measy Air-Mouse/Keyboard RC11

Still good information to know that the OUYA hasn't EXCLUDED any official Android supported devices.

Well, if the receiver is already paired with a device, yes you don't need to do anything special, just plug it in. BUT, if you need to pair a new Logitech keyboard with a Logitech receiver that's paired with an existing mouse, you need to use the logitech software to interface with the receiver to tell it to pair a new device. What I didn't know is that this pairing configuration is stored on the USB receiver, not as a computer setting. That's the handy part.
I have the receiver on a power USB 2.0 hub connected to the Ouya. The Ouya can be turned on using the mouse or keyboard.
Yea. I've found that most Keyboard/Mice are specifically paired with the receiver they ship with. I haven't had any luck repairing a device with a new receiver.

the OP is talking specifically about Logitech keyboards and mice (that just sounds weird) that are compatible with the Unifying program. I have one of their top end mouse and a good KB paired and I switch them around from my desktop to laptop and knew it was stored on the device or USB (or both, maybe), so I figured it would work but didn't know for sure so thanks for posting this!
Logitech Unified Device Pairings with KitKat v. Lollipop
It appears that Logitech Unified devices work with every KitKat or Lollipop (5.0) device I can connect them to, but not at all with any 5.1 devices. Suggestions sought .....

[Q] Bluetooth mouse issue...

Hello, there!!!
Few days ago, I got the microsoft sculpt comfort bluetooth mouse for my stock 4.4.2 rooted s4 (i337m).
This bluetooth mouse works pretty nice except for one thing: when i click on a dialog box for start to write something, the virtual keyboard doesn't show up. Someone told me what android could be detected my mouse as a keyboard too, so, i installed the tincore keymapper app and it sees the mouse as a keyboard, not as a mouse... I connected a usb mouse with a otg cable and, when I click a dialog box, the keyboard shows up and I even can swype words with it.
Any ideas? I have a mhl 2.0 adapter for screen mirroring and I need get the mouse working properly because i don't want to buy a bluetooth keyboard.
Sorry for my english.
