Paranoid or Cyanogenmod ROM for Korean G2 F320L ? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am a Android newbie and have Korean LG G2 F320L. And I want to install custom Paranoid ROM.
But the links I have found so far are for international models D801, D802, D803 etc. So can I install these ROMs on my Korean phone ? and if not, any one knows from where can I get the Paranoid ROM for the Korean G2 F320L ?
One more thing, in terms of security and any malware/spyware threat which ROM is better one :
Paranoid
Cyanogenmod
?
Thanks,
Wasim

Any help please......

I'm skeptical about trying non-official LG based roms due to the suddenly bumped, black-lines-on-screen hype.
I'm running Cloudy G3 rom on my LG G2 F320L (contains all the essentials I want but gagged on customization).
For the case of installing cyanogenmod / PA (KitKat based roms), I think you will have to flash F32L Baseband before flashing any of those roms. (Probably modify updater-script in meta info of the rom in case you are barred from Flashing the zip file due to your phone being F320 and not D80x).
In terms of security, official rom will work for you, there are not that much perks of CM/PA over official to me as an end-user. Before G2, I had Optimus G F180 before and I loved look, feel and customizability of Cyanogenmod 11 (MOKEE). PA is no different with tad bit more utility perks.

I am newbie to Android and custom ROM business....but have technical background....so my reason of looking for custom ROM is the performance I am getting on mine G2. I think my iPhone 4S was much more snappy than G2 and it was even 50% of hardware what G2 has. So thats why I want to have Stock Android ROM to get rid of any unnecessary stuff and improve the performance.
Could you please suggest any valid tutorial to follow to install good Stock Android ROM on my F320L G2 ?
Thanks,
Wasim

enable developer tools by going to Settings > about phone > software info > and click software version 6 times.
Then go to settings > Developer Tools > Enable USB Debugging
Root your phone using ioroot method (connect your phone to ur PC first and make sure u have correct drivers installed)
Install AutoRec software (Make sure you have correct phone model, which is F320L in your case). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
Dont run AutoRec yet, download KK Baseband file for your phone from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=12880
Download Cyanogenmod flashable zip + gapps. Put all 3 zip files on your SD Card
Run AutoRec software (Not sure but connect ur phone to internet over wifi), Install recovery > reboot into recovery
Now in Recovery goto Wipe > Swipe to wipe (Factory Reset)
Go back > Install Zip
Install zips in this order
KK BaseBand > CM > Gapps
wipe/Factory Reset again and Reboot. Hopefully you will have a working Cyanogenmod bootup.
Then Install Zip

NEWBIE @ LG G2 : starting... from what rom...

Hi all,
as u perhaps already know, after almost 3 years with my beloved LG 2X, I bought the LG G2 D802 32 GB last week
Now... I've installed the LG Drivers onto my Win 8.1... I've rooted the phone and installed TWRP recovery.
It's time to flash my first custom rom on the new little monster
But what rom ? I've seen that some roms are sized 1 GB while others... 200 MB ( as almost all roms of my other android' based devices ). Obvioulsy I've looking for a 4.4.2 rom. From what rom it's better to begin ? Actually, what's most stable 4.4.2 rom ?
Thx in advance

It depends upon your choice either Stock or AOSP based.
Start with PA4.1 or CyanoGenMOD 11.

As I can remember, for example, for my 2X... I held the stock original rom for first 4 days Then only cyanogen, paranoid, pacman, kang etc etc rom, I think all cyano's based I've always thought the cyanogen with reduced sizes rather than stock may be slim, lite and fastest than stock... My opinion, my hope.
PS If I use hot reboot or a similar app to reboot into recovery, no problem. TWRP starts, I'm able to backup the system, etc. If I use the vol - & power on button, no way to enter into TWRP

1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold Vol Down + Power button
3. When LG logo flashes leave power button and hold it again (Don't leave volume down button)
4. You will reach to Hard Reset menu press power button twice
5. Instead of hard resetting you will be moved to TWRP/CWM.

PA 4.1
Nameless rom
cyanogenmod 11
slimkat (but i had an overheating issue)
First, you have to decide between AOSP exeprience or LG Android experience. I tried several AOSP ROM-s cuz KK but went always back to the modified stock ROM's. Why?
a) QuickWindow.
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec)
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application.
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen.
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions).
My personal recommendation: do not play with 4.4.2 (LG) ROM-s, try CloudyFlex 1.4 - very nice and stable. As long as there is no official update from LG for open phones and no custom recovery on KK and no Xposed 2.5 I won't switch to 4.4.2.
However, everything is matter of personal taste. Try and decide yourself.

Let me reply :
a) QuickWindow : the possibility of reduce the size of an app, like in windows OS ? Not so usefull, for my usage...
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec) : quick remote is wonderful, I've found the porting of this app for any kind of roms... I've to test it.
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application : I use aqua mail
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen : not so usefull, for my usage...
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions) : ya, it's true, really nice
Thx u man
PS I've read that with stock kitkat, there's no way to make usable CWM / TWRP recovery... :-o It's true ?!

with stock KK you will lose custom recovery
Before to attempt to flash my first rom ( PA ), I've read some topics about to recover a bricked phone...
Not very nice to read 32 GB that become 16 GB
There's a guide / help / how to, in order to avoid ANY problem ? Or a guide to recover the phone with correct rom version ( I've a G2 D802 32 GB Italian ) ?

I've ran into these issues whilst not paying attention to what I was doing but have recovered from them all, so its pretty safe, if you want to run stock KitKat there will be custom recovery very soon probably in the next few days as well as fixes for the bugs in aosp as KitKat kernel source has been released, I'm currently running Dirty Unicorn and love it

Solved all, without problems. Tried paranoid, droid, liquidsmooth and other 4.4.2 roms without a problem

[Q] Bootloop after installin XCam LG v5.0.0 binaries

Anybody know if there is a fix or solution to this situation? :
Installed Pardus HD Rom on My LG G2 32gb D802 and then flashed through TWRP 2.7.0.0
[MOD] XCam LG v5.0.0 [G2/GPro2/G3] >> xdabbeb_camera_binaries_v1.0.0g2.zip
After that my system hasnt booted up, its stucked in bootloop kid of. Sometimes it was saying proccess android.systemui was stopped or in most cases it was just in bootloop. As a result i had to use recovery and get back to previous ROM (CM M9)
Any idea whats going on ?
Reply
Pardus is heavily modified, lots of stuff can go wrong. If you see the original XCam thread, there is a way to take a logcat and see it, but as you said you have gone back to CM. Try Cloudyfa's ROMS, expecially the new G3 one, pretty good, better than CM in my opinion even thou I am staunch advocate of AOSP. Also, read and re-read to make sure you know what you are getting into.

[Help] Root the LG D802 along with stable ROM suggestions

Yo guys, so it's been a long time since i've been on the rooting scene and i guess im back but i realised there's no android sdk as it's Android Studio. is it exactly the same in terms of giving me the fastboot and ADB files?
Also, back to the main topic of this.
I have an LG G2 D802 which is running 4.4.2 Kitkat and on software version D80220c-AME-XX
Links to any root guides would be useful, for now i'm trying this guide and i'll let you know how it goes.
As for the ROM, i know there's no 'best' ROM but i want one that's on the latest Android OS (I guess the latest stable for this phone would be LP) and is Stable. I really just want to flash a custom ROM once and keep using that without having to keep updating it.
Hoping for some quick replies.
Cheers!
What i did was that i first upgraded to stock lollipop by downloading the kdz and then rooted by the oneclick tool by avicohh then custom recovery by autorec and then flaahed cloudyG2 3.3

Hmm, im reluctant to update to Lollipop as i need the LG software installed on the laptop and etc.
I found this thread for IO Root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869 (Latest one i found so far)
I'll give this a try first because for my variant it says "ALL"
Also, in terms of stability, how is CloudyG2?

What (newly) ROM should I install, given my setup?

Hi
I have G2 d802, with this ROM: CloudyG2 2.2. This is Android 4.4.2 The kernel is 3.4.102. Build number KOT49I.
I have TWRP. I have root.
Anyway, what is the newest ROM I can install on this device? Is there something that is Android7? I need the ROM to be clean (bloatware-wise), and should be fast.
Is the baseband version something I should be worry about?
Please provide me with the exact steps I need to do in order to install the new ROM given my current setup (which I described above), I want to make a clean setup - so full wipe is Okay.
Maybe LineageOS 14.1? It says I should go back to stock lollipop. How to do that exactly?
Thanks!
Hi. I'm on LineageOS 14 (latest build of today). I am pretty sure that it is the most updated rom for G2.
I am not going back to Cloudy ROM simply because I don't have time to move files, do backups,.... but i will do it. Really, G2's behaviour with Cloudy is perfect: no bugs, perfect camera, perfect sound. With Android > 5 you will face some bad things: for example, you will loose official camera drivers (no OIS, worst quality), and you will experience crappy sound if you max out the volume, and other bugs can be always after the corner.
(Surely, LineageOS is very usable and stable, but at the price of what I said before). So:
my advice is to use Cloudy, unless it is very important to you to have latest security patches.
I had my g2 d802 on Cloudy 3.3 for a long time and it was and still is perfect.

It depends on which ROM you want to install.
If the rom that you're looking to install is built on android nougat and below, yes, you can install them, and you can simply look up guides that help you install them.
However, if the rom is built on android oreo or pie, you cannot install them as no kernels for 320s currently support oreo and pie.
Hope this helps.
