Here is what I found for rooting, feedback please.

I found this as the first step: http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/10/how-to-temporarily-root-the-t-mobile-mytouch-4g-htc-glacier/
then this right after: http://theunlockr.com/2010/12/10/ho...s-off-on-the-t-mobile-mytouch-4g-htc-glacier/
I would like to know how this compares to gankin's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858996
These vids I found seem like a really simple and effective way to root, but thought I would ask here since every site I google searched for info on rooting seems to bring me to this site.
Thanks.

please post questions in the Q&A section
the first video is temp rooting... the second one i believe is based off of grankin's first rooting method guide. I would go with the ultimate s=off because it gives you s=off on the radio and bootloader. it essentially SIM unlocks your phone and replaces the bootloader with an engineering bootloader.
Please post questions in Q&A section.
Sorry about that.

[Q] HELP Please...On Rooting

Hi can anyone give me a simple link or easy way of rooting my 'Sony Play' its on 2.3.3 after just updating!
Would it be best to do a factory reset as Ive not got any pics, music or many apps on it?? Any help would be great x
would have been easier doing it when you were on 2.3.2....
read this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043630
What's the difference between the method you're linking here, and the one linked in the thread I posted?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1176367
The one from my thread seems vastly easier and less complicated.
Im interested in rooting my phone but..
1.I dont want to lose my data and settings >_>
2.GingerBreak Does NOT root my phone
3.I have R800i,2.3.3
3.0.1.A.0.145
4.Reading the "Working Root on PLAY except Verizon" and i am TOTALLY confused, nobody posted any guides for Noobs
Double Post, how do i delete this?

you mean this page :
404 Page Not Found
The page you requested was not found.
There is no n00b easy way of rooting 2.3.3
in order to do so you have to:
flash back to 2.3.2
gingerbreak 2.3.2
then update to 2.3.3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176367 is the correct link.
It says all over that thread that you do NOT need to unlock the bootloader.
This method?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116090
That's the one.

[Q] Step by Step video of rooting

I have some experience rooting(evo 4g, nexus 4). I think that i have decided to use Casual root, for the apparent simplicity, to root my att s4. My question: is there a step by step video tutorial for windows 7? I see there are some drivers to download, but im not sure where they go. I downloaded them but after that im not sure what to do. Total newb here, but willing to learn and try.

This is what I have used on my Canadian Rogers S4 i337M via Windows 7 and it worked flawlessly with lots of comments as well within the thread, give it thorough read through and most of your questions should be answered within that thread.

Which of these would be easiest? Is there also a step by step somewhere or a video like the one just posted?

casual is about the easiest possible way to root your device. just follow the simple instructions. do not install any drivers. just plug the device in and start casual. the rest will take care of itself. after the process is complete, continue on to backing up before proceeding. check out this guide. cheers

Question Bootloader unlock and root

I'm brand new to the Oneplus 6t been looking at a lot of different phones but liking this one. I'll be getting mine on the 15. Now I've been seeing a lot of different things about bootloader unlock twrp and root. So I googled "bootloader unlock oneplus 6t" and it came up with a video made by TK BAY from XDAdevelopers XDATV. And it looks like it might be easy. Has anyone looked at it? or tried it?
OP devices are pretty development heavy. So many users here run an unlocked/rooted device.
I suggest you go to this link and read Funk's guide a hundred times before you attempt messing with your device.

OK I'm not a beginner at unlocking and rooting phones by no means. Yes I read it. TK BAY video looks a lot more easier. The only reason I say that is Funk's guide was posted Oct. 26 TK was 4 days ago all I'm saying is that it might be a little easier. I know there is a lot to be worked on with twrp and roms and all the stuff that goes into it. I admit I have no clue about how to develop roms. Sorry I was rambling on.
