Why does AUX music output sounds so bad? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just picked up a G2 to replace my broken HTC One M7.
I love the phone but when I connect it to my car stereo using an Aux cable, I hear hissing and interference during quiet portions of music. I do not hear it using headphones. The cable is high quality and with my HTC the sound was flat out amazing, pure clear output with additional noise. I connected my wife's Iphone 5s and my daughters Galaxy S4 using the cable and they sounded fine also.
Any thoughts or ideas on this? Really mars an otherwise fantastic phone experience....

TuneLink is the best thing I ever bought for my EVO

Tunelink turns your car speakers into wireless bluetooth headphones. I already have hands free talk in my car and this is a great addition for wireless music. The adapter is small and plugs into any cigarette lighter. I hate the idea of this post feeling like spam but this is worth the investment.

How's the quality?
I bought a large set from newegg, it included ipod hookup, etc. The quality was crap.
It's CD quality, no audio loss at all. I have an outlet under my armrest and a 3.5 mm jack as my configuration. Depending on the quality of the mp3 I'm playing the audio sounds better over Tunelink than it does when I listen to satellite radio.
This is pretty cool. Bluetooth to AUX-in, awesome!
I like it because when I leave the gym, I can continue listening to the music I listened to on my EVO.
How is the audio quality using the fm transmitter? I don't have an audio jack in my car. Thanks.
Haven't tried with the FM transmitter.
I use this, got it on sale for $20. No software needed. Charges usb and connects to auxiliary.

[Q] Xperia Play audio jack issue

Hey guys!
Has anyone else experienced a faulty audio jack on their Xperia Play? The speakers work great, but when I plug into the headphone jack, it sounds very strange, like one of the channels isn't going though. When playing Michael Jackson, I can pretty much only hear the music without any vocals...
Also, I bought it from Best Buy, and apparently they said that they don't cover the phone after 30 minutes of use or something ridiculous like that... I was wondering if there was any way of resetting the minutes usage.
Cheers!

Nope... I've tried 3 different headphones and plugged them in as much as I could. Unless the body has faulty construction and is not allowing me to plug it in all the way.
Have you tried both handsfree and standard stereo headphones? I haven't had any problems with either on my phone but I thought it was quite interesting that the supplied headset didn't work properly in other 3.5 mm jacks where other handsfree sets work.

my S4 headphone jack experiencing sound distortion...

I got my S4 few days, since my car able for Bluetooth audio, so its working fine on my car, but today I took my car for service, and I am using my s4 with aux cable on the loaner car, I found out that the sound was terrible, with lot of noise distortions, with it. when I back to office I am testing the aux cable with iphone 5, galaxy note II, and galaxy S4, only S4 have problem, and then I test it on my wife car, same thing, I guess I have a defective S4, does anyone having the same problems?

I am actually noticing some distortion on my S4 as well when using headphones. It is fine over BT in my car but when in the gym there is like a crackling noise sometimes. Tried different headphones and get the same result.
Did you find anything out? Defective device?

This is a known issue in Qualcomm powered S4s. Id contact Samsung for a replacement.

Thanks for posting this. This nose in the link is exactly what I am hearing from two different headphones from the same manufacturer, meelectronics. However when I use my wifes iPhone headphones or connect to her car via aux cable the sound output is fine.
I think I will try and return my phone to best buy for an exchange. ..

I did try couple phone already from ATT...While I am using headset is fine. Just having problems on aux cable. But after I am using noise reducing aux cable. It working fine. And I guess all s4 have same problem. You may just try to get noise reducing aux cable first before exchanging your phone. ..because you will get refurbished phone for exchange. .

Well I bought my phone from Best Buy, they have a 15 day return policy. I was on day 16 but they were kind enough to swap me for a new phone. I also have their Geek Squad protection so I could have gone that route as well. From the article it looks like its hit or miss on which handsets are affected. The new one I got is not affected and has no headset static unlike my old one. Guess I got lucky.
Great success!

That would make sense as the distortion effect apparently has to do with the impedance on audio devices. Low impedance devices are experiencing the issue. Find out what the Ω Ohm measurement is on the headphones from meelectronics. I know the Apple headphones are Ω23 so it is higher impedance thus not experiencing the issue.
Mine breaks I had to clean with proper alcohol the jack port and connector. No issues so far since then. I'm worried that would be damaged!

ahh, you're right, from the meelec.com website both my headphones show 16 ohms, not sure how to make the Omega or whatever sign that is.
Just noticed this thread while browsing the forums for the international S4

Safe to say that this is a major issue and Samsung will need to confront it at one point or another.
Yes I had this issue and luckily was able to get it replaced under warranty at ATT

Did the new one exhibit the same issues? This is supposedly an issue that effects any and all GTI9505 variants. Whether or not you hear it depends on the setup you use to listen to music off of the device.

Was the phone being charged? If so, that for some reason is the source of the problem. It worked on the galaxy s4 and LG G2.

Nexus 4 and my car charger hearing a weird sound when playing audio

Whenever I have my nexus 4 connected to my generic car charger and I am playing music through it I hear a screeching sound. The higher the RPMs my car is turning the louder the sound gets. So I think I am hearing the electronic interference from the alternator while the cars running. Had anybody else experienced this?
Do any of you have recommendations for a good car charger that doesn't do this?
My old iPhone 3gs does not have this interference sound do I think it maybe this charger.

[Q] Quality of the headphone jack on the MXP

In terms of 1. the sound output on the headphone jack (sound quality, output volume). How does it compare to other phones that you have owned? How does it compare to the iphones with the best headphone sound quality such as the iphone 4 or the iphone 5s.
and 2. build quality (is there an inner ring made of metal inside the jack ,completely flush with the metal contact part of the plug, to stabilize the heaphone plug?). Is the headphone plug stable enough when plugged such that it will withstand prolonged usage?
I find the quality of the headphone jack quite good. My previous phones are Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nexus 5.
The sound quality is good imho, good loudness and no need to install any software to tweak the sound.
As for the metal jack, the headphones are stable enough when plugged in. I don't have the feeling that there will be issues with prolonged usage.
I also found both the audio and build quality of the jack quite good.
+1 from me also. I have a pair of Sony headphones that come with my Z3, the sound quality is on par with or better than any recent phone I've used, much better than the S6 for sure.

I didn't like the sound. I used the equalizer to amplify the bass sound. Anyway, my reference was a in-earphone, which have better bass reprodution.

The build quality is ok. The earphones are quite comfortable, but the cord is thin.
