Cover page description error - ONE General

Hi,
No idea where to post that, i've tried hard to find a "report error" link, but without success...
On the presentation page of the OPO, i read that:
The OnePlus One is the first smartphone developed by new start-up company OnePlus. It was released in April 2014, marketed as the "2014 Flagship Killer". The device sports a 5.5" 1080x1920 JDI display. It's powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB of RAM. Storage comes in at either 16GB or 64GB. Other features include a 13MP camera, 3100mAh battery, dual stereo speakers and StyleSwap replaceable back covers. On the software side, the OnePlus One runs a version of Cyanogenmod with a unique modified user interface.

However, while it's a huge lie from Oneplus, the OPO does not feature any stereo speaker. Just two mono speakers wired on the same mixed channel. Considering that my only two choices where HTC M8 and OPO, for this feature, i was quite disappointed when i got mine :|

What we're saying is that this topic didn't really deserve creating a new thread, there's no way to improve it. If you'd like to give an in-depth review of the device there's a thread for that right here in the General Section that you've posted this thread in.

HTC profit Fail

TAIPEI (Reuters) - HTC Corp reported a record-low quarterly profit on Monday that missed analysts' estimates after the delayed launch of its 2013 flagship smartphone model further undermined sales amid tough competition from Samsung Electronics and Apple.
http://au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-...-quarterly-profit-after-delayed-phone-launch/
$2.8 million vs Samsung's $7 Billion profit...
Better start buying the praised HTC One or HTC will be bankcrupt.
because the One did not release and its delayed
funny despite all this, they still made some profit

No one was expecting the manufacturer to post a huge profit, but analysts were hoping for roughly $20 million, even with the delay in mind.

Developers looking for an invite?

Seems like my thread got messed up and no longer exists. I had tried to send a message to a developer who was looking for an invite but XDA went down and I have lost that person.
So I am asking if any other developers (or that person if they see this) are looking for an invite.
The one I have only has 15 hours left.

Simple mathematics really. It's due to the exponential growth of available invites in combination with a changing supply and demand curve.
Funny though how people are still begging for weeks and weeks on the OPO forum when here we're having trouble handing them out before they expire...

OnePlus One to get a stable CM12 Lollipop update in February - now in QA/QE

Steve Kondik said:
"OnePlus is a startup just like us, and they are crazy ambitious. I'm not sure our long-term visions are necessarily converging based on the conversations we've had, but we're still going to support the [OnePlus] One. That's true. I'm just worried to get into a phone where the official software support dies after a year.
There would be official software support as OnePlus would come out with their own ROMs if I am not mistaken.
Are CyanogenInc going to drop CyanogenMod S support for OnePlus One? Sure.
Are they going to drop support for the nightlies and "normal" CM? Nope, very unlikely.
I think we could easily relax, since there are no legal issues beyond CyanogenMod (the rom, not the company). They mantain the device they could mantain based on hardware and since OnePlus was buit with their support they know the hardware better than anyone.
Long story short, they have no interest in discontinue the nightlies, that would be just plain stupid and private them of a very big slice of the market.

First of all, calm down. Maybe I was wrong saying "sure", but there is no need to get so fired up.
From my point of view, they are going to split. I may not have insight informations but I know market very well. I am quite sure that both OnePlus and CM want to break up and seeing how this is going (OnePlus developing their own Lollipop Rom subsequently of the India mess) I don't think that will take long.
This is not a rumor. It's my point of view and I am free to express it.
Time will tell
No hard feelings, like the Portal turret said.
Cyanogen has a contract to provide support for the One Plus One for 2 years. They are only coming up on year 1. There will be continual updates by them for this device until 2016 atleast unless Cyanogen wants to be sued. Will they provide the official software for the One Plus 2? Probably not.

They're contracted to provide updates for two years. The fact that OnePlus have developed a lollipop ROM doesn't mean anything, they developed a KitKat ROM too, months before any of this happened. The market has nothing to do with it either. You're doing exactly what a bunch of people did a month ago when they said we wouldn't be getting CM12S, which we are getting. I'm calm, I just can't stand this pointless and unfounded speculation.

Anyway, just because some OEM didn't release kernel sources doesn't make it right. Both are at fault here - LG and Xiaomi. Forgiving Xiaomi because other OEMs haven't done it either will make it the norm.

That guy is another story. I do thank OEMs for some of their choices, just some.
Also, I look at it in this way:
If I return something I am overdue with, which reaction would I prefer from the lender?
A: Thanks man, try not to take too long again next time yea?
B: Well it's about time, don't do that again next time yea?
I'd feel better with the response from A. But I understand there are cultural differences that makes people think B is also a very reasonable choice, so I'm not trying to accuse anyone of anything negative with respect to that.

The Note 4 has a Snapdragon 625 CPU which supports QC 2.0. Xiaomi just didn't add the drivers that enables it.
