Z3 Dual Battery - Xperia Z3 General

Got z3 dual for days now but haven't seen a dedicated room or topic about it and battery life. For all z3 dual users there, what's your battery stats and also include the usage and how many sims are active. Let's get tje ball rolling!
Sent from my D6633 using XDA Free mobile app

My first stats. I was on auti brightness. 2 sim cardb sa slots active, one on 2g and other on 3g. Heavy web browsing on wifi with autosync turned on and about 1 hour on 3g internet. I also streamed music from Spotify most of the time and listen to walkman about 80% of entire usage. Also watched a couple of youtube vids.

General thread to discuss battery life

So...the title says it......i hope OP will make this thread sticky....
I made this thread to avoid the multiple threads discussing this matter and its solutions.
OK...everybody tell us how is his battery life......
personally mine last 1 day with heavy usage.....2 days with light usage.....
and please everybody tell us wich rom in the use...and how much using it...and all the statistics that you can get...
You are welcome to post any of your problems with batteries and solutions....
I get about the same, 1 full day with quite heavy use in terms of messaging and surfing.. It does drain alot faster playing games or watching videos.

Sent from my X10i using XDA Premium App
2 days with medium usage 3G, 4 days 2G heavy usage.
I have always said this phone has really good battery life, and for me it does.
right now my battery is on 32% and from the last charge past 1d 8h 12m with medium use
I had 3-4 days with stock 2.1 with my typical light usage. Now with stock 2.3.3 this increased to 5-6 days.
(few calls per day, no games, no music, 3G almost always disabled)
Compared with latest 2.1 with bb 67 on stock 2.3.3 battery life is worse. 1 day with heavy usage, and 2 days with light usage - 2g connected constantly.
I suggest everybody post screenshots and what rom you are using.

Sometimes, it doesn't even hold for on day. Heavy usage. Web, Facebook, gmail sync, twitter sync (and a couple of others) perhaps I should change the sync.
3G only. Wi-fi sometimes

Might just go back to stock until battery life comes back.
Mine dies after 6-7 hours of medium usage such as like 1 hour youtube 1 hour of xda and like 15 minute of music whit everything off except wifi and no data connection

Does the mobile networks play a role when it comes to battery life in terms of network coverage etc... Mine fully charged with average usage lasts less than 24 hours. Well i do a bit of surfing and FB and mail sync in on. Is it due to that ? I did a calibration as well after flashing wolfs rom from stock.
Pls advice !

One hour of you tube? playing videos obviously... thats just fine, i do pretty much the same but with gaming instead of youtube and a couple of hours talking, wifi and 3g always on, sync every 30 mins constantly checkin facebook, twiter and xda till ot get to arond 15% in like 7 hours
running wolfbreak´s gb 4.0.3 ROM with stock kernel and oc and uv (they work fine together for me)
There's a theory.....and i personally tested it and it works....
if you wanna get a great battery you must charge it at the percent of 20 or 15.....and it lasts a 2 days...
and i charged it at 0%..it keep about 4 hours charging...and it doesnt last a day....
im not very sure.....test it guys and see it if it works and tell me the results.....
dont forget about the THANKS botton.....
these threads are pointless imo...
everyone's usage is different, and you always get people saying "oh my phone lasts 3 weeks on a single change".... Pfft sure it does
There is no point in really comparing, yes you can get great battery life if you don't use your phone but what does that prove?

So what?
I'm giving my opinion on the topic of battery life comparisons in general, it was not any way offensive to you.
I'm simply stating that unless there is a way to objectively measure that the usage was the same, what does "this many hours" actually really mean?
Plus everyone's ideas of "moderate","heavy", etc... are completely different.

Hey guys,
I charge at 15% and my battery lasts for 7 hours. I use 2G data on always, no wifi, no gps, no music, no videos, but heavy surfing and apps download and update.
I think this battery life depends on the climate conditions where u stay.
I stay in India where temperature is above 40 deg.

Impressive Battery

Hey guys,
I'm really, really impressed with the battery my S3 kicks out, check out my results and feel free to comment. My brightness is on Auto, Wi-Fi has been on all day but for 9 hours was on Mobile Data, and Bluetooth off and NFC Enabled.
Facebook & Twitter update every hour, so does Flipboard

I roughly get 5 hours of normal usage.
That sounds a bit bad to be honest, I've been on my phone quite a bit today.

I use my phone an awful lot, I'm on it checking Facebook, texting, making calls, tethering etc. It's been off charge 1 hour now and I've been browsing for the past hour (without wifi) and now on 87% which to me doesn't look good.

Mine hardly lasts 6 hours.
IF YOU LIKE MY WORK, THANK ME BY THE BUTTON BELOW
17 hours doesnt seem that good tbh, specially as the screen has only been on for 3 of those hours.
Here's my battery life with around 3 hours of screen time. This also includes streaming Google Music over 3G for an hour.
As it stands right now with a lot of stuff syncing, my battery has been lastingover a full day with more than 3 hours of screen time.
If I use my phone heavily, I can still pull off a full days (work day) worthof use with a screen time well over 4 and just short of 5 hours some days.
This phone is definitely a win in the battery category.
I'm quite happy with my battery time... Tell me what you think

Really good battery life compared to my s2 with the samsung extended battery.
I wonder though if samsung will be releasing an extended battery for the s3?
you should classified as lucky man
mine is battery eater
i lowered the brightness , shutting down bluetooth and data ...etc
and still eats my battery
lets face it guys
i did'nt buy a high level smartphone like this one to disable most of its magic wonder features and deal it as it was nokia 3210
disappointed
S3 battery life is certainly better than xperia s that i had before

What on earth are you guys doing to your phone? I'm disappointed if my screen on time doesn't reach 4 hours. That's with Bluetooth streaming and auto brightness on and about an hour of calls on average and a bit of heavy gaming.
I just flashed the latest CM9 nightly this morning, my phone was around 85% as you can see in the pictures below.
And I still have around 30% left with 3 hours screen on time.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
On CM9 experimental from a few days ago, I got about 6 hours of screen time over ~ 20 hours plus streaming Spotify for about two hours. No screen shots because it is pretty normal for me :/ on wifi.

I think maybe theres a summet up with some because i can get over a day with moderate usage where as my dad only uses now n again mainly for calls n text n can barely reach the end of the day.

That is brilliant! I get around 30 hours with almost 4 hours of screen time ...but this is sick .
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
You guys get way lower than me.
Wfi on all time
40% Brightness
Sync on every hour (Facebook, Twitter, Email)
Screen on time: 5 hours 12minutes
Battery left: 28%
First touch screen phone I have ever owned that occasioally lasts as long as my Blackberry Bold 9700. Super impressive in my opinion.

HTC battery life going to crap

So... I was getting 4 1/2 hours on auto brightness... Now this is from 100% charge and me turning auto brightness off and setting the brightness at 0...
No heavy gaming, strong signal...
I have heard that deep cycling this battery is not recommended but this is BAD... I am totally stock running T-Mo .11 firmware.
I am tempted to deep cycle but I've seen people do that and the battery goes kaput for good so I don't know.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
And as you can see, power saver is on as well. Something isn't right...
And the WiFi radio is so atrocious that I always use mobile data so that isnt it...
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
looks normal app usage 95% but i thought you would gain more battery if brightness is at 0
use grenify and to limit app usage as i'm guessing you have a lot of unnecessary apps calling for data in background
and 4g is known to drain use wifi when possible
If you think that's bad see my battery life, it's atrocious. In standby overnight, my battery drains about 9%, worse than my old iPhone 4. I can barely get 3.5 hours of screen on time. But I still love the phone though.

The problem is that the WiFi antenna in the One is so bad that I die at 3 hours. And if I go in the bathroom, the phone freezes of I get a call.
There are some serious radio bugs with this device. Like the 45 second handshake from 4G to LTE (S4 is 5 seconds max) - doesn't usually cause a problem but for some reason T-Mobile drops from LTE to 2G within 10 seconds on the phone unless it is locked to WCDMA only in my area (we are blanketed in HSPA here in Denver, we are two blocks from the Capitol!) but then takes 30 seconds after a call to go on HSPA then another 45ish to get back on LTE, sometimes 2-3 minutes!
As for WiFi, both my S3 in an Otterbox Defender and my old S4 (given to roommate, long story) get WiFi all the way to the elevator. The One can't even make it to the toilet :/

Agreed, also would be good if those who tried it can post a comparison about how much was lasting battery with 5.1.1 and now with 6.0 on same scenario (I mean apps, settings, etc)
befor update i think battery life getting better ,but after one night and a some program ,it's show only 22 hours battery life ,,,, hey sami what you think about batterylife .?

Installed French XEF yesterday at 15:00 (03:00PM)
Popped it off the charger at 16:00
Now : 08:00, the next day
43% charge
16h 8m on battery
1h 44m SOT
Maybe 2% loss overnight.
Disabled Google Apps and Samsung bloat via Settings => Applications
WIFI : ON
Location : GPS, WIFI and Mobile
Brightness : 25% + Auto
Turned OFF LTE : Only 3G speeds in my area
Action Launcher 3
There's not so much to do fellaz. We've got a 2500 mah battery giving juice to a monster cpu and monster useless display. These things swallow harder than sasha grey.

System calculate time left on battery based on your usage in 7 days, if you use it a lot then system will shows that you have short life of battery, if you use moderate or low, then you would see longer time of usage. So You should check your real time on battery, when you use in similar way than in on 5.1.1 and then compare to 6.0.1. For me at the moment i see much better battery performance.

Heavy use. 40-70% brightness about 1h more SOT than Lollipop.
The battery life for now is not so impressive, not more than L
One more thing to notice is that the battery fares better in wifi. But suffers a lot in Lte or in 3g mobile network. I get no more than 3 hrs of SOT when connected to mobile network in lollipop, but 4.5 to 5 hrs in wifi. Could anyone manage to get better battery in mobile network in MM?? The main battery suckers in network are google services and the annoying mobile radio active bug in lollipop. Are these two things fixed in MM touchwiz rom?? Confirmation is appreciated..

no sight of the R.A.B but some say they are exparience it.
How do you guys check whether Doze is actually working or not? Is there any specific part of the settings where I could check it?
Thanks!
By now your phone battery would have deteriorated for those who have had it a while that whatever gain MM has would be negligible.
For those of us who got it at release day, battery health would be about ~95%.

Indeed, but no one is asking for Xperia Z3 battery either, where I could get around 8+ hours SOT with Amplify, Greenify and a few other tweaks. I no we can't let the battery drop slower when using the phone, but the main complain is the standby drop, which would give us more SOT if we could lower it. Really, my phone should not use power on anything else than be ready for calls, text and else the apps I set it to, like Snapchat, Messenger and so on when in standby and you can get this with Amplify and Greenify. On 5.1.1 I managed to get around 0-1% drop over 8 hours of sleep, so as I got more standby time, I would eventually get more SOT too, which made the phone still last a day.
The problem now with the high standby drain is that you can't really feel a difference (might be kind of ironically here) between using the phone or having it in standby as it still drains hell a lot.
nothing has changed in marshmallow since 5.1.1 . I am using for 2 days. the battery consumption is the same as lollipop. (i did clean flash of france mm)
I've noticed App Optimisation is using 7% of my battery.... Cell standby 3% and Android system 8% with screen nicking 50%.
Seems good, but i'm disabling App Optimisation and comparing over the next few days.
Haven't experienced any drain from mobile or radio signals or any other bugs.

Excellent!! Do u think it will last 5 1/2 to 6 hours with 3g on throughout the day? I'll be running social media apps, heavy browsing all the day, maybe an hour of YouTube and occasional gaming.
I'd returned moto g turbo becuz it failed to go through the day with such usage. Do u think moto g4 will be a different case in terms of battery?

With WiFi on most of the time and with normal useage I got close to 6 and half hours of SOT..So with 3g on throughout the day you should get atleat 4 and half to five hours of ..as 3g always takes out more battery life than WiFi.. (Even 10-15 min of continuous gaming will drain battery quite quickly.. If you are a gamer don't buy this device.. But for the price and the promise to get quick updates this phone is the best in the market..)
Kinda heavy use! Always on wifi, with an hour of gaming in it! I am satisfied with it by far.
Again normal use with no gaming, WiFi on throughout and poor cellular network signal...
