Haven't seen this here. I'm guessing this is of interest for us.
I have no idea what I'm doing, so feel free to move this around or remove it.

Woot
Now we waiting on some kernels to be released

by looking at it, he is building a custom ROM. I am thinking it is OmniROM, based on the terminal window title

Odd that you're using a VM when you can build it natively.

What is kernel for?

I have a nand stock android on my hd2. I see peoples sigs and they say that they have this nand and also a kernel which i didnt install after flashing android. So what is the kernel basically for and do i need it?
Hi,
The kernel is the core component of every Unix-based build. It's the bridge between the hardware and the applications at the lowest level. Maybe this illustration helps to understand:

You can find more detailed info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kernel_(computing)

And Windows. We just didn't go round changing them with Windows.

Yes you do - you can't run Android without one. Every build already has a kernel included.

I wonder why is that? Is it because it's not open source?

Yep - that's exactly why. Windows ran off the same kernel for years... both mobile and PC (different versions for each though).

Once we get a "Stable Mod" for CM7 or CM9 they'll say X10 is supported & add it to that page. Right now it's still considered an "Experimental Mod"...

Neh, never hahahaha. I use it as my main device so now I can't be bothered to unlock BL.
Congrats! However this makes me a bit worried that they've sent a new one instead of providing a remote repair through Qualcomm EDL mode. I do hope that the tools will be released eventually.
Exactly, rooting for it. Eventually if not soon
