Droid Turbo cases starting to show up! - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo General

As you can see from these links, the Droid Turbo cases are starting to show up!
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Droi...=1414355334&sr=8-20&keywords=droid+turbo+case
In the description it says it is made for the Moto G, but obviously the Moto G doesn't look like that. That is a Droid Turbo case...
http://www.case-mate.com/Motorola-D...e-Motorola-DROID-Turbo-Naked-Tough-Cases.asp#
In the description on this one it says it is made for the Moto X but when you click through the pictures it is obvious that it is the Turbo. Interesting thing to note: This one shows the version of the Turbo we saw with the woven kevlar back....

Another case from the same site...

Another case for the Turbo but they are showing another phone inside of the case...

Another case...
There were a few more but you get the point. We're getting close!!

Looking good!

I posted this over in the other case thread but I really hope we see some kind of bumper case for the phone. As large as it's already going to be plus the kevlar back I really don't see the need for a bulky case. Something that sticks out just enough to protect the screen from falls should be plenty.
Or maybe I'll just go naked with it. It looks like it should fit in the hand nicely. My HTC One M7 needed a case to feel comfortable in the hand without slipping. This should be thick enough to feel good in hand.
I also looked at Squaretrade's warranty. $99 for 2 years and only a $75 deductible is a great deal.

I usually put a thin case on my new phones for the first few months because I'm afraid of messing them up but then I usually take it off lol

Yeah I figure if I get the warranty I might as well go naked! If you guys haven't checked, Android Central's Turbo forum has a lot more info circulating around. The device evidently feels VERY good in hand.

Dang they have an insider of there lol. Thanks for the info.

Speaking of accessories, Mime responded to an email that I sent saying that if enough people showed interest they would put out a tempered glass protector for the Turbo. So, if any of you guys are interested shoot them an email.

That is pretty dinged up. One can always buy a housing though. But the ones I have seen are pretty expensive.
Maybe somebody could get this and a housing and make a How To change housing?
yea she aint pretty but im thinking someone who needs a back up phone for testing roms and such
Wow, I thought mine was in bad shape when someone said "I didn't know those came in black..." "They don't. It's frying grease that's soaked in."
hahaha. I thought I was bad with my phone. I got pissed because I got a little scratch on the screen!
If someone does have info on changing the housing, I might be interested in picking it up. I was gonna buy it to give to my dad so he'd get off his stupid Palm Treo 680 ... but if its all banged up, I would just have to keep it to experiment with then.
Well I'm a cook at one of my jobs and I'd rather keep my wing in my pocket than in my coat or car where it could get nabbed. I guess it's the lesser of the two evils. My screen is flawless though, thank you jerito... I mean screen protectors!

I effed up, learn from my mistake...

Well, I'll be getting my $100 replacement tomorrow.
I'm usually very handy with electronics, I used to take my Blackberry's apart all the time and blow the dust out.
So I read up on disassembling the EVO and thought "this is gonna be a piece of cake". Well every set of instructions I found said it was SOO easy to take it apart, what they didn't say was they were assuming you have a replacement screen ready to go and that trying to remove the screen from the bezel separated the touch input from the backside of the glass.
Maybe I did it wrong but I broke my precious and almost cried.. a little.
I no longer have any touch input on the bottom half of the screen including the 4 buttons at the bottom. And you can see from the front how it looks like a clear sticker has been pulled apart from the glass. The LCD is fine, just totally jacked up the touch input.
So the purpose of this thread is to warn anyone else who may consider disassembling their EVO to read more than I did.
It may actually be very easy to get the thing apart, getting it back together is another story
Ouch man that sucks
From the fade
Condolences for the dear departed one. A point well taken, thanks!
Although I've "played" with dismantling many electronics during my days, this is one I would not take on. I even opted for the additional cost with BestBuy for their low price replacement for our 2 Evo's.
hmmm........
Aww man so sorry for you lost. That's great you've put up this post as I was just thinking about replacing my evo casing from all the cosmetic damage I've put on it while dropping. Thanks to you my friend this make my decision much easier.
I was going to do the same thing for the same purpose. Thanks for the heads up.

Reminds me when I took apart my g1 to change the housing, it was a mess of circuit boards, wires and ribbons.
Can anyone else share their similar experiences? I have a large amount of dust in the upper left in my week old evo, and would would like to clean it out.

Hmmm. you can buy the touch screen for like $50-$60 on ebay unless you are talking about a different part.

Damn, I didn't even think of looking. Actually my girl called Sprint and ordered the replacement the next morning without telling me.
It arrived this morning, its a refurb. The bezel is cracked and there's a bright spot on the screen. I called asurion right away, they shipped another already. Im keeping my fingers crossed that the next is in better condition.
Thanks for the link though!

No problem, MTFBWY
That sucks alot!!!
I did the same thing, wish I'd have read this post first! I had the dust in the upper left of my screen. I have taken this phone apart before, but not removed the glass. In attempting to remove the glass I messed up the upper right corner of the touch screen (just a small area but still sucks!) and now the tint of some colors is messed up. Also rashed up the plastic on the edges some. Oh and I did get the glass off just enough to spread the friggin dust all around haha. Oh well it's livable until June when I can get a full upgrade (hopefully the EVO 3D!). Let my post here serve as a SECOND warning for those who want to attempt to remove the dust themselves. The glass is glued down and you pretty much have to destroy the phone to remove it. Don't try it!!

For sure... i hope they are good...even if they arent... it was only 2.85 hahahaha
These are terrible. They are not properly cut. Avoid.
I got one a while ago (posted in turn Fascinate accessories forum about it). I'm only using the back part for extra grip so far. Yeah, they're not cut the greatest, but it's really not that hard to pull the apart, just might need a tweezers or something. Anyway, for the price, you can't go wrong.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
It wasn't bad for 2.85, but like they said, the back only covers the actual back and not the sides. The front was cut great but there was a defect in my front screen and it has lines running down the whole right side of the screen. Other than that it's awesome.
I really like mine, for less than $3.00 you can't go wrong. Read the instructions before you install though.
Sent from my Voodoo'd Fascinate using XDA App
I bought the Extreme Guard ($5 shipped from Amazon) before seeing this. It works very well. My only complaint is that while it covers the sides/edges they could've done a little better getting the cut-out to get the entire surface (it covers about 98% of the back but there are small gaps on the corners where the phone curves). Overall it was a solid deal as well. I can't comment on the screen protector's quality as I already had another one on that I like and haven't felt like swapping it out yet.
I can't post links yet but you shouldn't have a problem searching for it on Amazon
Fishy...
Anybody else getting the StealthGuards website complaining that cookies are not enabled, and a little how-to guide on enabling them in Internet Explorer?
First of all, Cookies work for me on other websites JUST fine in both Chrome and Firefox. No problems. So it seems like the Stealth Guards website wants me to be using IE. ...Like I said, it feels fishy. Maybe it's just a glitch on the site for tonight.
Regardless, I'm updating my copy of MalwareBytes(.org) and running a scan. Call me paranoid. Whatever. Oh. and they have the price for the Fascinate screen protector listed as "free" right now too.
*edit* it could be just b/c I wasn't logged in yet that it wouldn't allow me to "add to cart" but every legitimate website I've gone to in the past few years has simply asked me to sign-up/sign-in after clicking add to cart.
I saw a couple other forums where people said that the website felt shady as well. I guess I'll stick with my Invisible Shield. It may have cost a lot more, but I've already used the warranty once, and I used it once or twice on my old Cowon S9 player as well.
Hmmm about those cookies
I actually did experience the exact cookie issue your referring too, however it cleared itself up when went to the website directly and did not use the provided link to the item.
The issue occurred in FFox, Chrome and IE8 which is why I got a little suspicious, but as I said as soon as went the web home as it were, the issue was resolved.

Have any of you received yours? I'm about to file a paypal claim. Over 2 weeks since I ordered.

Can you take these off and reapply or will that just mess them up?
Mine took around 2 weeks as well, as mentioned it will be in plain white envelope your "not to bad of a Zagg knockoffs" will be incognito appearing as junk mail. Although getting all the bubbles out on the battery cover is difficult (as other brands may be as well) I'm sure they will work out fine.
*side note*
Verizon sales new fascinate battery covers for about 5.00$ free shipping, I ordered 2 with government discount for 8.00 shipped. I'm coating one with spray on rubber insulation like used on grips for tools. To get a good no slip grip. 8.00 at Home Depot in a spray can in flat black.

What protective case are you going with? (show us pictures)

Sorry, wrong section of the forum.

I ran a search and didn't see anything. sorry if i missed it.
I just pre ordered my 3S (Verizon-US) today, hoping to get it in my hands in the next couple weeks. We are talking about a big phone here and having any kind of case will obviously add bulk regardless to how minimal like the case mate barely there options.
For those of you who are getting this phone or those of you who already have it in hand, What case are you using/thinking about getting?
I have only dropped one of my phones twice that I can remember so I'm not concerned about getting any kind of otterbox style protection case. I'm pursonally thinking about the white case mate "barely there". I have it for my current thunderbolt and it serves it's purpose, which is to provide minimal protection but enough to prevent small incidents.
if you have a case already, I'd love to see picts.

Warranty exchange back to 4.4

Hey guys, something I thought I would share.
I was having MMS issues with my moto X. They would randomly send or not, some would say sent but didn't. whatever I called Motorola and was told to ask tmobile to revision my MMS or something. it didn't work so I called Motorola & told them and they shipped me a replacement phone. I just received it and to my surprise and great delight!! it's running 4.4 not 4.4.2 which moto practically forced me to update to!!
Can you say OLD BOOTLOADER!!! and I hope my MMS works again.
also 2 things I noted.
1. The moto X screen is supposed to be seamless with the body of the phone, meaning when gliding your finger from screen to the side bezel of the phone it should be silky smooth and your fingers should feel no friction at all. My old moto x, the one being sent back contained some friction when gliding to the right side.
2. (pic included below) the new one, I just received 20 minutes ago has scratches on the Sim card tray?!?!? wth! i honestly could careless but there may be some quality control issues in their Texas plant.
Carry on and use this info as you wish.
here's the sim tray picture i forgot to upload above lol

Yeah, I know most companies do refurbs but the 2nd moto x I received seems like it's better quality overall.
CartlandSmith said:
Every refurb gets inspected before it ships out whereas not every new device coming off of the line does. So that makes sense.

agree! but still my point stands. my original moto x had some weirdness in the form of inconsistencies in the screen.
CartlandSmith said:
that is totally consistent with what I am saying - the newer devices don't go through as rigorous of an inspection as the refurbs do. It is cheaper for them to just send you a refurb than it is to implement higher QA at the factory on a mass level.
And it is why no one should feel bad about returning and reordering a device if they get a defective one.

lol ^^^ that makes more sense. Thanks for the explanation. Your advice sounds solid but how do you know all of this for sure? lol I'm not doibting it but I like to know people's sources.
and thanks for all your advice, i'll be sure to like your comments!
CartlandSmith said:
there are typical QA practices in factories that produce consumer goods. Of course a particular manufacturer can do what they please but the typical QA practices are typical for a reason. A manufacturer has to balance the cost of QA against the cost of returns/repairs and their reputation for quality.
