Mobile data issue - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My note4 almost always has a white 3g above the service bars. However, even though I still have 3G and there is no change in service bars, periodically my text messages will not send and internet will not work. Keep in mind that my phone constantly says it is connected to 3G. It also happens that the signal bars disappear. After reboot both are OK. *
I do not have any malicious*apps*and my phone is not rooted. Have messed with network settings and have seen no change.
And YES my mobile data is turned on.
Any help is appreciated!

I have the same problem, right now I am trying to figure out if it's software or hardware related...

I would hazard a guess that it is sim card related.
Sent from my SM-N910F

I changed my SIM card, same problem.

What are your APN settings? What geo area are you in?

I am from Romania. My APN settings are default from the provider (Orange).

You got your phone from Orange? It never happened to you that it looks like the phone has signal, but in fact the signal froze and I cannot make a call or to be called. After a restart it's ok for a while. Also if I turn mobile data off is ok.

I got it from cel.ro. A couple of times it took a few seconds to start dialing, but I had no real problems yet.

If have exactly the same issue !!!!
Start with full signal strength and going down to the lowest strength and minutes later no signal !!!
Reboot or Airplane mode can undo this, but the cycle starts allover: Full strength, less strength and no signal.
Tried with 3 different carriers !!
And 2 Note 4's !!
I have the Snapdragon version SM-N910F
What is going on ??

Have this issue with my exynos variant in australia its imported and full 3g signal and slow or no data throughout and sometimes h+ even g or nothing

Next week samsung will come to me and bring my phone to their service and will check whats going on. Anyway I think it's more like hardware issue than software.

I have the same issue with exynos variant I bought the fone from the official dealer in my country,
My data service was not working at all.
I got it working by going to mobile network and choosing WCDMA/GSM option instead of LTE/WCDMA/GSM. although now i cannot get 4g but at least the data is working on H or H+

I think its software as a few people have had this issue both variants also

Same problem here, Exynos factory unlocked SM-N910H. All of a sudden I look at my phone and I discover it's showing "Emergency calls only", sometimes H or H+ but no internet. A reboot OR Airplane mode OFF and then ON will solve both problems. That's ridiculous... I've literally tried everything, factory reset, changed sim, messed with the APN settings. I've had this problem since day 1, even before I rooted it. Darn this, I never had any problems with my HTC One X, and I am using it ATM until Samsung come up wit a fix with an update or something. I hope it's not hardware related as my Knox warranty is void 0x1. :crying:

The same issue happened to me. I have 910c variant from Lithuania. A week ago phone started to lose 4G and after few minutes "no signal". Few reboots and it is working again, but after some minutes there is no signal. What I did notice is that there was no signal problem in my city centre where 4G signal is very strong, but when I did some speed test there, it was only ~2-3mbit (before this problem it was ~50-60)... Unfortunately I did not test this issue by turning off 4G. I did deliver my phone to warranty service 5 days ago and they send phone to Latvia to do 4G tests. I refused to repair my phone and demanded to get new phone. Waiting for the answer

Also rooted my phone so no warranty for me. Changed carriers today and they are doing upgrades so stuck with useless service :/ but i think either it's something to do with root or software i dont think its hardware

Fuxas plz reply to.this thread when you hear back thanks

I dont think it is software, because I tried factory reset and it did not help.. Of course, when I get the results I will share them here.

If anything it's NOT the root because I am having this issue before I ever rooted it. My best guess it's the software and I've researched a lot about this problem, seems it's specifically related to some samsung devices and not only the Note 4.

Yup its a samsung problem and hopefully it gets rectified

Phone connection dropping

My P3600 phone goes insane sometimes, and will not dial out (hangs up immediately after dialing without ringing), or hangs up within 5s of me answering. Does this happen to anyone else, and if it does, what do you change to fix it?
jchap2k
Same here...
I don't know why this happens...
Me also
Running the new HTC official ROM, I noticed it first with the upgrade, I make a call like voicemail from the attention prompt and I put the phone to my head and the call is ended after like 5 sec. I though at first my ear was hitting end but tried it without moving the phone anywhere and it still will randomly end calls right after I try to make them... tried disabling smart dialing and that seemed to work at first but I could have just been lucky because it didn't keep working... anyone else besides us three?
I also lose calls or conversations break in the middle. I went to HTC service and thet recommended me to change the SIM with a newer one. I did that today and I only lost one call so far (but I was sending an MMS while talking to a customer service rep so it might be related to that). If things improve I will let you know.
Mihaig, any news about your SIM change as connection dropping solution ?

I tried turning off UMTS (using only edge), and so far I have not had any dropped calls/immediate hang ups. Would getting a new SIMs card allow me to turn back on the UMTS bands?
I did have a sim card go bad that had to be replaced. The phone wasnt dropping any calls, then all of a sudden just couldnt find the network. My new card has dropped a lot of calls lately.
But i'm not too worried, my service provider thinks its there network fault and I the complete call is free as long as I phone the person back.
Anybody have a 'settings' solution, I would be very interested.

Well, so far no more dropped calls after turning off UMTS. I wonder if a new SIMs card would help in this matter. (mine is only 1 year old though).
Only with Car Bluetooth
There are some gaps in the conversations when I use the Nokia Carset bluetooth but with the P3600 itself no problems so far (just 1.5 week old). I do have some problems with the SD card, ones two days the info is corrupted and I need to format the SD card.
As far as I have found out, the problem has to do with 3G, the 3G hasn't got coverage everywhere ( at least here in DK ) and when the phone switches, it sometimes lose connection for a couple of seconds. Switching off the umts did the trick for me, no more hang-ups or lost connex, but then again, no more video-calls or streaming, so it's a choice... :/
Hope the next update will fix this, if there is a next one... P

There is a known problem with many service providers and HSDPA. If you have the phone on automatic while in 3G mode, when your phone connects to data the phone will switch to HSDPA just for the data transmission (if your provider supports it), during the transmission calls are not received and usually sent to voicemail. This doesn't happen with all providers, but it does with many of them. You can turn off just the HSDPA and not the 3G with this tweak program http://www.fit4cat.de/thread.php?threadid=263. On my phone I have no problems with normal 3G, it is just HSDPA that is the problem.
Hmm, I already tried that program but I still had the same problem even after turning off the HSDPA only. It never happens when UMTS is off completely though. I figure when I want to use the internet I will turn UMTS back on and when I just need it as a phone I can turn it off.
Sorry folks, dumb question: where can I turn off UMTS in my trinity and only have EDGE enabled?
Thanks for your help...
mfg OK
Press the green button to start the phone, then Menu/Options. Select the 'Band' tab and change the upper box to GSM.
Leave the lower box at 'Auto'

I replaced with a new Cingular/ATT 3G sim and still the same problem... I'm going to also try to turn off UMTS to see if this fixes it... mostly I notice when calling voicemail from the notification tab... Oh yeah, it now says ATT as my service...
I have this problem, on the Orange and T-Mobile network, with WM5, and WM6. Have the latest radio, the works.
Bit of a joke that this happens to be honest.. a phone that has 3G/UMTS but that won't allow a certain number of calls when it switches. Pretty fundemental flaw if you ask me!
I've set band to GSM, let's see if it fixes the problem. Will download the aforementioned hack this evening.
Ah, I see it's the operators problem, not the phone's. Flipping amateur of orange not rectify this before shipping..
I've used HTweakC to disable HPSABCD(sic) and will see if the problem stops.
Not a SIMcard problem
HI Guys!
I work in a Mobilephoneshop for a Network Provider, and i had the same problem.
The first trinity that arrived in the shop was mine
And this little bas... droped many calls.
I talked with the tecnics from my prov. first we changed the sim, but same problem. Reflashed Rom same problem.
It has something to do with teh HSDPA, evrytime my trinity connectet them, the calls was dropped, the bad thing was, we have a HSDPA antenna in teh shop
Only the change of the devise worked.
Hope was helpfull and sorry 4 my bad english!
mastah
See above, use HTweakC to disable HSDPA, but leave 3G enabled.

[Q] Nexus 4 drops mobile network randomly

Hi Guys,
I recently switched from the Nexus S forums to the Nexus 4 forums
I'm loving my N4 so far
Perhaps too much, because I've been ignoring a problem that I've been facing. My phone drops the mobile network for a few seconds, once in a while.
I was able to find a way to replicate it. I think this happens when the N4 tries to switch on data on 3g or H.
To replicate this,
1) I installed the Network Signal Info app(can't post link here )
2) Next I tried to switch off wifi. As soon as the wifi is disconnected, the phone tries to connect to mobile data network and my phone disconnects completely for a few seconds. See attached screenshot for logs.
Anyone else facing the same issue?
Thanks,
Spaccount
Note that I can't replicate the issue every time. However it does occur very frequently if you first keep it on Wi-Fi for at least 10 minutes.
Thanks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gRFJdhg160
Note that you need to be on wifi for alteast 10-15 mins before this works..
I tried loading the browser to show the problem(no network).. but I also get an error if I try calling or texting..
Can someone please try to replicate?
I'd like to know if this is an isolated hardware issue. I just finished 2 weeks on my phone.. Hopefully I can get it replaced
How long is mobile data disconnected? You do know that if you are on wifi mobile data is disconnected on all phones, it reconnects when you either turn off wifi or go out of range of the wifi network. It will take a few moments for it to reconnect to mobile data and vice versa, its not an instantaneous reconnect, it can take 10 seconds or a minute or two.

I didn't demo this because I wanted to keep my call list out of the video.

Okay I see what your talking about now, I had removed Network Signal Info off my phone and just reinstalled it. And no my phone doesn't totally drop signal, it drops but not by much when it switches from wifi to mobile data. Are you on stock or custom ROM or Kernel. Its like your radio is turning completely off during the switch to and from wifi, If your on a custom kernel I would suspect it to be the problem. If not then it might be a hardware issue.

Happens on my iphone 5 on t-mobile when is goes from edge to 3g or 3g to edge, I think it's cause of the phone switching the bands

Interesting! I'm on t-mobile as well.
I just did a factory reset(the google lady told me to) and I still have the problem.
Is there anyway that you can get hold of a Nexus 4?
Also where are you based out of? I'm in Ohio. Not sure if that matters?

So maybe its a carrier issue, I'm on ST AT&T. You on T-Mobile by chance? I had signal issues when I had them and dropped them in 2 weeks. Could only get a weak signal in my living room and then would get no network detected in my bathroom 10 feet away.
Okay not sure what caused this but I had my phone off for about 20 minutes and when I turned it back on to retest it I got no signal, then turned off wifi and signal came back, then turned off wifi and signal remained the same. Not sure if this effects my ability to send/receive voice or text. Its probably just the phone saving battery by turning off the cell radio.

However the network is OK around here. It would be great if someone on t-mobile and N4 can try to replicate this.
I had this issue with my previous defective device. If gps was on the mobile connection would crash. My new device does not have this problem.

I had this exact same issue when I first received my Nexus 4. I thought it may had been a faulty sim card, so I replaced that, twice, same result. I went ahead and formated the phone back to stock, same result. Checked and made sure APN settings were correct, same result. Contacted T-Mobile, they reset my phones service and the data in my area, same result. After both I and T-Mobile ran out of ideas I decided to contact Google for a replacement. Turns out it was a faulty antenna and my new device has been working fine since.

I just called google and requested a replacement.
The lady said I should get an email in 2 days. I'm on day 13, so I'm cutting it close
Also wanted to add that I ran the same test(as in the video) while on a phone call. It dropped the call and locked me out of the network for 10 seconds just like in the video.
I logged to XDA to report this issue it so annoying and the biggest proplem that my N4 seems to stuck on 3G and won't open internet untill it connects to H
it also happens when connected to E as I dont have 3G coverage over there and it also drop many times
mine seems to cut the radio off for seconds

Based on the following link, this might be a software issue. I know the issue described in the link is not exactly what I experienced, but is similar in some ways:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40514
It's supposedly fixed in 4.2.2
Will let you know if I get the update before I RMA(don't want to force the update).

Similar problem on Galaxy Nexus
Hi all,
first of all, I know that there's a different forum for the Galaxy Nexus, but since I have a similar problem as discussed here I thought maybe someone can help...
I also have random disconnects from my mobile network, but since I almost never use WLAN it might not be the exact same problem as discussed here, right?
I'm running cm-10.1-20130416-EXPERIMENTAL-maguro-gerrit-35930.zip, and - as I said - my phone randomly disconnects (shows the "no signal" sign in the status bar) and relatively quickly connects back to the mobile network and everything works like normal. The whole reconnection process takes about 5s or so, I don't have to re-enter the PIN or something...
Any ideas how I could figure out what the reason might be?

[Q] No Service after period of time

I have an Australian Telstra Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910G). I got it today. I have rooted it and thats all.
Twice now, I have just had it on charge, the screen off. When i've gone to use it after about 30 mins or so, it has no service. Nothing I can do will fix it other than rebooting.
Not sure if its a fault with my phone, something wrong with the root or a software issue.
Does anyone else have a similar issue.
Both times its happened its been on charge. I'll take it out with me now and see if it does it just in my pocket.
Thanks

No it's brand free Note 4 here in the Netherlands.
Although i dont loose signal all together i get no data throutput at all after an amount of time i have to enter flight mode and disable it again to work thats with full reception! Im in sydney using boost mobile (telstra 3g) exynos model
Maybe you need to change the network mode to WCDMA/GSM (ie turn off LTE if it's not available).
Tried it no good.. disabled xposed completely and seems to be normal for now.. ill report back if i havr this issue again
---------- Post added at 10:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:27 PM ----------
Nope same problem again.. hmm gonna do a reflash of stock rom when im home. My guess is software issues
It just did it to me after being off charge for half hour. No idea what triggers it.
Nope not sure but frustrating as hell
Same issue. Have sent phone in for repairs. They found nothing wrong with it. Sent another new Note 4 replacement having the same issues: No service after checking the phone after an hour or so
Oh I was looking for a thread about this issue, mine is sliiiightly different though.
I'm on 4G, but I use WiFi whenever available. I then notice my battery draining 1% per 30 minutes even though I'm on WiFi, when normally it would be 1% per 1+hour. When I switch it off WiFi, the 4G signal never recovered but showing 2 bars of signal (which is normal at where I am). Switching to WCDMA didn't bring back 3G, then switching back to LTE also did not bring 4G. When I call to the mobile, it will go straight to Voicemail as if not connected.
And yes, Flight Mode ON then OFF restored connection.
I'm on stock everything, disabled bloatware, no root.
Network not available after root on Note 4
Hi there, My Note 4 was working fine before root. I used a wrong root file so it stuck on Odin and after rooting with correct file it again comes in working condition with no service or emergency calls or network not available. Its IEMI and serial no. is fine. I can see 4g written near network and 4g works. I can use Internet services but not Call services.
I have tried stock firmware wia kies and Odin. Now using Sweet ROM V7 but nothing works. If I use 2 degree 4g Sim then I can use calling services on it and if I disable 4g then again no service nd nothing on it.
This happened after rooting. Tried different modem files given on Sweet ROM page but still same problem.
Please help me.

Mobile data problem

Sadly its become apparent that something is wrong with my Yota 2, when losing the network signal when out in the sticks it will not reconnect mobile data when I'm back within decent network coverage, the voice and SMS work okay but the mobile data doesn't, even if i get full signal bars. Toggling Bluetooth and mobile data make no difference. The only cure is to turn the phone off an on then it fine until the next time.
I've checked my 3 UK APN settings and they are all as expected.
I've contacted yota support an they want me to send it to their service partner (premiere eurocom ) I have to send it at my expense and wait their diagnosis.....but I'm not sure how yota will be billed for this.
Has anyone else experienced the problem?
I'll try a factory reset before I send it, just in case...
Sent from my YD201 using XDA Free mobile app
I didn't encounter such problems so far. I was a bit worried a few days ago, as my Yotaphone kept losing the GSM connection entirely (I was back to the PIN code input screen multiple times every day), but then it also did happen on my good old Ericsson t39m, so I suspect it was more an issue with the local GSM network.
Can you try with another SIM card (maybe even another carrier) to see if this happens regardless of the carrier?
Did you change something (apps, settings...) on your phone recently? I'm asking just in case, you certainly thought about that already, so don't get offended by such a basic question!
No worries.....Thanks for the input, what network are you on?
I tried a factory reset and that didn't make any difference, that should eliminate any fiddling or dodgy apps too, I tried the Sim back in my HTC One and it behaved perfectly in there, upon returning it to the Yotaphone I lost data comm twice in a matter of hours only reaquiring after turning the device off and on. I also double checked the Three UK apn settings and they are as they should be. I could try another network as nano sim are few and far between!
I've now returned it at my own expense (Thanks Yotaphone!) To their repair partner Premiere Eurocomm, I'm not sure what will happen now as for all I know it will pass their testing in their repair labs, I'm hoping they will just send a new device .
Sent from my GT-N8010 using XDA Premium HD app
Update......
I received a new phone under warranty, I set it all up and sadly exactly the same problem occurred. (Passing through an area of poor or no network service, the mobile data (3g or LTE) will not reconnect until the device is switched off and on again)
I now believe this is an incompatibility between Three UKs mobile data network and The Yotaphone firmware/hardware.
To crudely test this I bought a Vodafone payg sim and carried both my phones with me and these are my findings
HTC One M7 & Three UK sim......no problems.
HTC One M7 & Vodafone sim.....no problems.
Yotaphone 2 & Vodafone sim.......no problems.
Yotaphone 2 & Three UK sim....fails to reconnect.
So my options no seem to be;
Try for a refund on the device.
Change network to Vodafone.
Wait for a fix from Yota.
So I'll call the support line later today and see what they say. Could any UK users let me know what network you are on and if you have any similar problems please?
Sent from my YD201 using XDA Free mobile app
Sorry for the delayed answer...
I'm using the Orange (France) network at home without any particular issue, the troubles only happen (so far) when I'm traveling abroad, which I frequently do for work.
I'll try to list more precisely which carriers are subject to network connection issues, although it's not easy to see which carrier you're roaming with (on my old Ericsson phone, the carrier name is displayed prominently on the screen, whereas you've got to dig in the menus on an Android phone to get the carrier's name...
Okay so I called yota support an updated them and as expected they just blamed Three, so only after asking for a refund did the agent pass the problem onto Yota for more technical help, I won't hold my breath waiting for contact but if nothing by the end of next week then I will be insisting on a refund. kind of spoiled my fun this has
Sent from my YD201 using XDA Free mobile app
It would be a shame if they don't seize the opportunity to further dig into the subject and find out the technical cause. After all, they aim at a worldwide distribution of the Yotaphone 2, don't they? And it'd be a shame to see you go, too...
An update.....
I've not heard anything from Yota support but have made progress myself, I discovered in the mobile networks settings that you can select your network manually rather than automatic, by doing this two options for Three appear in the list, Three and Three UK.
I selected Three UK and since doing that the problem has not happened at all over three days of using the phone, including passing through the areas of no network coverage that would trigger the problem.
I'm hoping this is fixed.
Footnote: whilst sorting this problem I've been using my HTC One that has had its lollipop update and I'm loving the lollipop, can't wait to get it on the Yota

Any more updates? Got my phone today and got the same problem.
I got Tele 2 in Sweden and it wont connect to 4G. It will get 3G connection but very weak signal and it will disconnect and reconnect atleast once each 5 minutes.
I did also set network in manual mode and it works better but not as to expect from a phone.
Im also going to try with another carrier but im kinda locked to my current one...
On a side note, I've had twice an issue with SMS and the YotaPhone 2.
I've received the same message over and over about 50 times, usually separated by a minute, but sometimes the message shows up again only after a couple of hours...
Not a big deal, but annoying nonetheless. I suspect that the local phone network (in Congo) is to blame, but I'd be curious to know if this has already happened to anyone else, as my other phone(s) do not display such behavior. I usually have the "Welcome to XXX network" SMS repeated a couple of times, too, in those situations, though usually not more than three or four times.

I've not had any further problems since my earlier post, I set my network operator manually (rather than automatic) in mobile network settings and the problem stopped

Please whats their customer care mail or phone number ive been searching all over for it my phone just died as well.
I'm having exactly the same problem, I've had my phone for three days and it already happened twice. Putting the phone on airplane mode does not solve it; I have to restart the phone. I only lose data connectivity, but I get signal and I can call just fine. Btw, I'm using the YD206 version with Jazztel in Spain.
I'll try now with the manual network selection and ser if the problem dissapears.

Hello,
I have more or less the same problem ... but with no real solutions
After upgrading MM I lost the LTE signal but not all the time.
When I start my phone I have the LTE signal with good bandwith and good quality of reception.
After some time (5min, 15min, ... no really logic) or every time after driving with my car and I expect changing Emettor many time, I loose the data. I have no more LTE, H+, 3G etc... no more data and I loose a lot of quality of signal like my "modem" lost a lot of range of signal available.
I Flash and reflash MM and no solution.
When selection manually the operator, it change Nothing for me
When I change APN with a new one (2 APN are available for data (for french people SLSFR and WEBSFR)) the data is coming back but just few time.
When I come back the the first APN, data is not coming back until restarting the phone.
I have a third APN but with only 3G connection and with this one, I have no problem. Data is always available...
Really Strange. The problem is only due to LTE signal
For this moment, I will try with Lolipop if the problem don't occur anymore.
hello, my wife has the same issue, on sfr network. Any update ?

Hi Benetnath,
I find no issue with SFR.
I spoke with the customer service and they don't find any problem on the network.
I read a lot of forum and it seems that the problem is not only on Yotaphone but on lot of quite "old" phone.
They change some parameter on the network (what, I don't know, is it regarding the fact that we can travel everywhere yet in Europe using our data mobile...)
You can easyly find some post with looking about "SFR data probleme sl2sfr oneplus" through google
I expect that the problem is only on SFR but I can't be 100% sure.
Due to the problem seems to be a network "problem" or french network parameter, I think we will never have any answer or solution. It is sure that yet we will have no more update on yotaphone.
The only one solution I can give you today (avoiding changing operator ) is to use only the APN : Wapsfr
With this APN you will never be connected in 4G but only in 3G. No problem with cost or anything else (pas de risque de hors forfait) but in my case, the reception quality is really better in 4G with 800Mhz frequency that 3G in 2600MHz I believe.
Without 4G I can't receive anything inside my house.
I will keep you and the forum in touch if I find a solution.
Changing to an another operator is not so easy because for low price all the alternative operator like laposte mobile, pristel, NRJ or some other are often on SFR network with the same APN (so I suppose the same problems)
It is maybe also because SFR launched the VOLTE in June and the problem is more or less since this date.
VOLTE is maybe the problem ? When I receive a call I lose the data and she is not coming back

Hi, I have the same problem. And I think the problem go from Free : Before I had SFR and Bouygues, I never saw the problem.
Sometimes, just activate the plane mode, and desactivate it, and the LTE comming back. but another time, I have to reboot the Yota.
Hello xNiux;
With Free, I found also lot of data connection problem on Google.
The main problem with Free is that the mobile should sometime connect to a Free emettor and sometime to Orange.
So maybe your phone is not connected on the good emettor and it is the reason you lose your data connection. I can't be sure because I have not Free Mobile but it is what I wrote.
==> Maybe can you go to "choose operator" and select only Free...
For SFR it is a quite new issue, around june. Before I expected that it was a wrong ROM when I uploaded my phon to MM but it is not the reason.
Even with choosing manually the operator or use airplane mode, nothing is working. I need to restart or open/close my SIM card.
I make a "call" to the RED team to find a solution.
They wrote me this morning that now everything is fine and work well... but this morning I lose another time the connection.
For the moment :
Free is not working with Yotaphone
RED/ SFR is not working with Yotaphone
To be check with Bouygue or Orange to maybe choose an another operator ( I don't want to change my phone)

[Moto G4 with Amazon ads] Always losses carrier network after 24 hours

Hello everyone,
I just bought a Moto G4 16 GB with Amazon Ads for my wife, but we are facing a very annoying problem: the carrier signal always dies after 24 hours give or take. We tested with a different SIM card and the same thing happened. When this happens the device only shows "Emergency Calls Only" and we have to reboot the phone in order to get the signal back.
So, is anyone else facing this problem? Is this really a problem with this phone in particular or every moto g4 has this problem? Should I return the device to amazon?
Thank you very much for any information you can give me!

No problems here since I got my phone last week and I have T-Mobile. You might have to check your apn settings with your carrier.

I tested the SIM card in a different phone and it worked flawlessly (I also use T-Mobile). The strange thing is that the phone gets the signal very well during more or less one day, after that I have to reboot to get signal again.
Well, this is probably a problem in the device. I already asked Amazon to send a replacement.

Thank you, but I just use the t-mobile network. In fact, my carrier is called campusSIMs and it is a MVNO that uses t-mobile network. So, my APN configs are a bit different from yours.
However, I didn't know about this mobile data thing. I didn't touch the developer options. Maybe, it can be a good idea.
Thank you!
It won't be your APN settings since that controls your data settings. If the sim is ok then it could be your phone.

I'm seeing a similar problem with the data portion of the network (also on T-Mobile). While I'm able to send and receive calls and texts, data doesn't work. There's no indication that it's attached to LTE or even 3G (just a standard signal bar with no other information). I moved the SIM card back to the old phone it was in and it works fine.
Things actually worked yesterday, so something happened overnight to break it.

That could possible be the APN settings. Although usually it's the opposite, they don't work at first then they update from the network later on. Most times the APN settings will set themselves but on the odd occasion they need to manually edited. I don't use T-Mobile but the APN settings are easy enough to find.

Sounds like you need to manually enter the APN settings. What you describe is exactly what happens when it hasn't loaded an APN.
I'm "kinda" having an issue here. It's a little different though; the phone works ok for a while (for me about 3 hours, usually), and then I still get an LTE indicator, but have no network connection (get errors in apps/"No internet" page in chrome).
Other times, I lose LTE and get locked in 3g (H indicator), and can only get LTE back by going to Settings/More/Cellular Networks/ and toggle preferred network mode to 2g or 3g, let it connect (H or E), then toggle back to LTE.
Motorola responded to a bad Amazon review requesting I post asking for help on their forums.

I'm active over on their forums also and it's good to post over there in case you ever want to do a soak test. They look at your posts there when they ask for soak testers. As for your problem, I've seen it shift back and forth if you are in an area between towers and one isn't sending out LTE. If it were that I wouldn't think you'd get it back so easily. There's an app, don't remember the name, that will show the towers and signal relative to your location, If might be interesting to look at that.
Having the same issue with radio. Just replied to your post, Kalash.
Ok, we got a new phone from Amazon and it has the same problem. So, I believe this phone does not work very well with MVNOs.
I notice that the problem is that the phone cannot reconnect to the network after losing the signal. For example, if you go to an area with bad signal and, eventually the signal vanishes, the phone will not be able to reconnect to the carrier network. The phone only reconnects after reboot. Airplane mode does not solve the problem.
This does not happen with my Blu Life One X. So, I think it is a software problem.

That's not true on all mvnos' apparently. My wife's phone is on Consumer Cellular, an AT&T mvno and it's never done that. We've been in a no service area several times and it's always connected immediately when getting service back.
