Where can we best follow the Gingerbread porting?

So is there anyone who knows links to where we can follow the progression of the developers porting to other phones of Gingerbread? Do we know who the developers are? Is Sombionix team working on it? Eugene??
Anyway. If you have any information put it here and we can have a collective information on the subject.

[Q&A][HELP]Questions & Help Thread. Noob-Friendly

Hello guys/gals, I am back this time bringing you a very useful thread for y'all newbs and noobs on the internets coming across this thread and seeking help. I will be trying to help you if possible, not only LG L3/L5/L7 but also on this thread you can ask, POLITELY for a stable or smooth kernel/rom. A part of my motivation for starting this thread is for helping people but also for trying to get the Recognised Contributor  . But the main goal of this thread is for HELPING.
Anyways, let's make the form that i want from you:
-device (L3/L5/L7/whatever)
-ROM name, Android version
-kernel name/version (if downladed from here)
-the issue that you are facing, with as many details as possible and some description of the steps you did and where you got stuck.
-if requested, Logcat
4 simple requirements and I or any other OptimaTeam member who knows will try to help you out. Good luck and have a good day. :highfive:

Hey Developers,
I have already built a CM ROM from source for my LG Optimus L7, which wasn't that hard. But now I want to build a ROM from Android Source (AOSP). So my question is: Can somebody give me a guide for the L7 or some advice for building an AOSP ROM?
Thanks:good:

From AOSP you will have to take almost exactly the same steps. Basically there is nothing different to building CM, AOSP, PAC, CarbonRom, etc., but the source of compilation is different and also the thing you will have to do is add the device specific libraries etc. into the AOSP rom sources on your PC and then compile.

[ROM][Z3] CarbonROM Nougat 7.1 | UNOFFICIAL | Experimental / Under Development

Hi, I found a ROM around the web of Android Nougat 7.1 for our Z3. It seems is under development but it boots and works. I don't know the issues or problems that it has so I wanted to post it to try it and make known. The rom is here: dl.myself5.de/leo/CarbonROM/
It is not my project, is from Myself5 that I think is user of XDA. All the recognitions towards him.
If this topic is not in the correct forum, please the admins move it.
I'll check that. I have a z3 free to test

That rom IS 5.1 Lolipop, not Nougat.
Are you actually serious?
What do you think, why is there no thread for this already? Everyone I shared this link with I told its very early WIP, and not to share it.
I uploaded the builds so that I can download them to my laptop, and that some people who wanted a 7.1 build were able to use it.
While you even know that those are my builds, you did at no point think about sending a PM to me, asking if its ok to create a thread for it.
With that, I just deleted all prereleases of Carbon from my server, never ever expect me to release some preview or WIP builds again.
That does not only count for leo. Have fun being responsible for the deletion of all testbuilds for leo, aries, sumire and i9100.
@caqo71 that assumption is wrong. CR-5.1 is the internal versioning number for Android 7.1 (same as CM is using 14.1). Those builds were Android 7.1.0_r7.
I reported the thread, hoping to get it closed, and I will reference it every time someone asks me where the preview builds did go to. Have a very fun time on XDA.
EDIT: In case it was unclear: I am not against you posting builds of Carbon on XDA, of cause the whole team invites people to compile Carbon for their devices. What I am sepecifically against here, is that, instead of putting your own effort in here, and compiling it on your own, you made a thread about my builds, which is totally not ok, especially not without asking me.
Thread closed.
You cant just share stuff you find on the internet. You need to follow the forum rules (rule 12) before you decide to share it

Request for senior members

Hi all,
Iam actually interested in building ROM's, porting rom's and features to contribute to the community. But one of the major hurdle is finding right resources and right testing methods. So I would like to request senior members with some experience in porting ROM, multi rom, TWRP etc., to please create a tutorial or even provide few sources where a newbie can learn about ROM development. If not a tutorial, please just publish the methods you followed during the developments you have made. This would help the community by easing the pressure on currently limited good developers. Thanks in advance.:good:

Heyyo, actually a good guide would be to check out OmniROM wiki. They have a guide to porting ROMs from other ROMs to theirs. Otherwise? Please check the commit history of any rom that the LeEco Le Max 2 has been ported to.
https://github.com/omnirom/Docs/blob/master/Porting_Omni_To_Your_Device.md
Of course, every ROM is different so for other ROMs hopefully they have a guide otherwise you'd have to check commit history of other devices and see what they had to change.
You can also find a lot of the recent work the Le Max 2 community has done on here for device, kernel and vendor.

I can't recommend the omni way to build. It's harder for a newbie to build omni other then lineage. At least that's my opinion

Here's the link to build lineage specially for our device. If you have any problems, pm me. I can guide you through the whole process to build a rom. I started from nothing and learned how to build roms with help from great people so it's not that hard

Development of Lineage OS 17.1 & OrangeFox

Hi everyone, I decided to develop LineageOS 17.1 and OrangeFox recovery for Nokia 6 for personal use. Anyone interested?
EDIT:
Hi guys, I apologize for my absence but I have been busy with my life and work. The project is going well, I have removed several errors due to the source code of the device
LineageOS build will be 18 with Android 11, get ready! I need your support to continue
sure, why not I was waiting to someone to make custom rom (A10+) for this device for so long. glad that your developing this for us. thank you very much! goodluck~ ?
Yeah. We are waiting for custom roms for this device. Good luck. Happy compiling. ?
I'd love to have android 10 on my Nokia 6! Are you targeting the 2017 Nokia 6, or the newer 6.1? I'd love to help but I don't know much about android roms/rom porting. I have a TA-1033 as my daily driver, so I could test builds on that (if they don't brick my phone :^) ). Good luck!
yes of course we're interested with your initiative! looking forward on your progress & good luck!
Count me in!
Nokia 6 TA-1025 (2017) and I'm all in!
Count me in too, can't wait for the first beta version, im using Nokia 7 TA-1021.
Of course, OP! In the EOL of device, what would be better than a custom ROM support. Good luck in your development, OP.
P.S.: I suggest checking pirrat25's PLE device tree to start. They got things already working there.

Yes, Waiting for custom ROM
Yes, very much interested. Looking forward to your custom ROM! Please keep us posted always.
Hello, during the lockdown I've tried to port Lineage OS 17.1 to our device, unfortunately after the build process I wasn't able to make it boot successfully.
The source trees that I used are on Github.
Device tree: https://github.com/sguerrini97/android_device_nokia_PLE
Vendor tree: https://github.com/sguerrini97/android_vendor_nokia_PLE
Kernel tree: https://github.com/sguerrini97/android_kernel_nokia_msm8937
This was my first attempt ever to port a custom ROM on a device so I may have done some simple mistakes that some more experienced developer can spot
I cannot dedicate too much time on this project right now but I will be glad to help if somebody wants to keep this going.

FYI: 4PDA links are prohibited on XDA forums
If I'm being honest, the Nokia 6 2017 is one of the best mid range phones out there and it is sad that only one developer is taking interest in this phone. I think it's because of the robust bootloader and more. Yes, Nokia messed up so bad on the Android Pie update. WE NEED MORE DEVELOPERS ON THIS DEVELOPMENT.
Any updates about project?
