[Q] increase vibration intensity? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have set the intensity to max but i still find it weak as compared to my old htc desire.. I always missed calls as I cannot sense it when it's my pocket. Is there an app/way to increase the intensity much higher?

i would like this also.
must be some way to mod???

Along with increasing the intensity, you can change/create a new vibration pattern. That will also help to improve the vibration intensity.

Increase Vibrate volume

I was wondering if there was a way to increase the volume of the vibration on this phone. It seems to be different for SMS and actual phone calls, but I couldn't find the registry entry where this is set. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance.
what are you saying you want the vibration to be stronger or you want the buzzing sound from the vibrator to be louder?

Hi mccannmarc,
Thanks for responding. if there is a way to increase both or either I would greatly appreciate it. I work in a loud environment and its a little hard to hear or feel the vibration and the buzz. If I could increase it via, say, a registry setting that would be great. I just don't know where to start looking.
I hate the buzzing .. it didn't do that first .. now it does.
the buzzzing is because the case isn't screwd on firmly enough I think.
There isnt really a way of doing it that wouldnt involve a hardware mod to my knowledge, you could use a bigger FET to increase the strength of the vibrator if you were willing to mod the hardware. With regards to making the sound louder you could always take advantage of the flaw dekoning raised, just loosen up the screws on your phone a bit!!
Sorry I cant be of any more help, I've trawled through the registry and cant find a single value related to the strength of the vibrator motor.

Very weak vibration....

hello all
when i have the phone in my pocket i can never feel it vibrate. is there ANY way to make it a bit more powerful? me and my friend both have the same problem.
it means that at work im having to leave it on ring and its inappropriate.
thanks in advance
I believe the vibration occurs in the battery itself and not the phone.
You could try experimenting with something metal (like a thin washer) between the battery and the cover ?
No, the battery doesn't vibrate. The vibrator is built in the phone and it has its strength which cannot be changed, in my opinion. It's a simple electromechanical vibrating device, and the vibrating strenght is limited to the mechnical built.
But i wonder, because I would consider the vibrating as the best I ever had.

i know what u mean, all my old phones had a really strong vibrate but the x1 seems a bit weak, if im moving with it in my pocket i wont feel it
The vibrate is nothing more that a motor with a weight on the end. I think the only way to up it would be to increase the voltage to the motor, which isn't going to be an easy task.

Then it would vibrate faster, but not stronger. It could only vibrate stronger, if the mass or the distance to the pivot would be increased which is a mechanical problem.
What about slowing it down...this could be more noticeable than a vibration at a higher frequencie.

But this isn't how a motor works. It needs an amount of currency to get over the starting torque and therefore the rotary speed is fixed. If you cut the currency, the motor will not start.
As long as you can't change the motor you can't change how it vibrates.
Weak Vibrate
I have my phone on vibrate at work all the time.
I have the same problem and I've missed appointments, meetings, texts and emails because of this!
I decided to get myself a bluetooth watch to overcome this problem (topic below).

vibration decrease

Hi !
Is it possible to decrease the vibration when someone calls or new sms is received?
Because the original vibration is much too noisy for me! I'm student and when I'm in class and the phone vibrate, everybody's hearing it !!
It's louder than the ring set on 3...
Is there any possibility ?
Thanks
I'd also be interseted to hear about this. It's the loudest vibrating i've heard from a phone!
It's like an earthquake when the phone is on the glass table
+1 I too would be interested in this.
or maybe just a shorter vibrate would be better too. I have a low volume tone for SMS when at work, but have had to turn vibrate off altogether as this was louder that my message tone!
If it can’t be decreased, then a shorter vibrate time would be a start
me2 !! will save battery power lol
Look at this, it function on call and email, not on SMS (yet).

Thanks for this info !
I'll have a look into it.
Any other idea ?
i have my hd2 set up seaprate for sistem volum (10%) and ringer volume (100%) ... works fine, but the SMS volume is low, as the sistem volume
is there a way to fix this? like ringer AND sms = ringer volume???
thanks
UP please !
UP ? please !
upping it every so often probably isn't going to solve your issue
I think vibration strength is set by the amount of power given to the vibrator, so you should virtually reduce the current going to the motor, but probably that's not something easy to do... also, I don't need the vibration pattern utility, but I think you could set it so it has very short burts of vibration, that way it wouldn't be as noisy
I believe there is an app for vibration pattern on freewarepocketpc.
Thanks very much for your answers.
Seems that there is no other possibility that vibration pattern.
Cheers

For me it's very decent. However, I think currently there isn't a way for this.

Is it possible to increase the vibration?

I keep my phone on silent at work and I've never had this issue with any other phone. I have it set to the max intensity and I still barely notice it going off. Is there any way to make it stronger?
Thanks!
