US Cellular is a CDMA network, so none of their phones can be used on GSM networks, sorry.

About I9000

I'm interested in buying an I9000 in USA,but since i don't really have a clue if its "unlocked" or "simfree" I need your help.
My question is,is the I9000 locked to a certain cellular network like T959 which is locked to T-Mobile?
If I'm buying I9000 will I be able to use it in other countries and under other cellular network providers outside of the US?
Thanks in advance!
The I9000 is the international version of the Galaxy S. The US GSM versions are the AT&T Captivate and the T-Mobile Vibrant. The Galaxy S is quad-band GSM so should work worldwide, and has 900/1900/2100MHz tri-band 3G, which are the most commonly used bands outside the US.
In the US, AT&T uses 850/1900 and T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 for 3G. Don't quote me on this, but reading around the issue it seems that the Galaxy S should be able to get 3G in areas where AT&T has 1900MHz services, but because it lacks the 1700MHz band required by T-Mobile, you won't get 3G on T-Mobile in the US.
The Galaxy S is not necessarily SIM-locked to any network, although it can be if it's bought through a carrier. If bought without a contract SIM-free it should be unlocked.
Im living in Israel and my cellular service provider uses 1800MHz so this device wont get a signal?
Happens im buying the device and its locked is there a way to unlock it?

buy the International UK version
that one is unlocked
and it has 1800 for voice

but you will only get 2G data
It has 1800MHz GSM (for calls/texts and GPRS data). I don't think 1800MHz is used as a 3G frequency? GSMArena says that in Israel, 850MHz and 2100MHz are used, though I don't know about specific carriers.
I've not used any unlocking services, but there are websites such as this, which offers unlocking for $30 USD (only given as an example, no recommendation implied):
http://www.unlockcellphonecode.com/product_info.php/code-for-unlocking-samsung-cell-phone-p-79
However, you should be able to buy an unlocked one. I don't know if you might be able to get one more locally for less, but, for example, this UK site sells unlocked phones (you can see the icon saying "SIM FREE UNLOCKED" under the phone):

will i be able to unlock it myself if things go wrong?
and can u please give a recommended unlocking website for i9000.
ty!

it is not locked
there is no need to unlock something that is not locked
at the moment there are no unlocking website for the i9000 because there is no lock
Agreed. There is no reason for it to be locked if not bought with a contract. The I9000 is used by many carriers all around the world - there's no lock inherent to the phone.

[Q] AT&T friendly variants?

I currently have the AT&T variant of the galaxy s5 and I would like to get replacement that I can root, I know that most all variants are compatible on the gsm side but I would only want one that would be compatible with LTE on AT&T of course as well. Could someone please let me know the variants that would work on the LTE network for AT&T please. Thanks in advance!!

I suggest T-Mobile's variant, which is what I use on AT&T's LTE network with no problems.

LTE Bands SM-G9287

Good day.
I need to know which bands of LTE does SM-G9287 support. I could not find information on the Internet, and I don't trust eBay sellers with their descriptions. Could anyone please confirm the LTE bands support of this phone model?

Will unlocked Sprint version work on 3g at&t?

I have read all threads, and found very confusing answers to using the sprint variant. I have found it does have LTE bands needed for both at&t mexico and usa, the two that I use. But some webpages say it is lacking frquencies for 3g and 2g gsm.
I plan on paying for a permanent remote unlock. Would The phone be completly functinal on At&t 3g? I dont care about wifi calling.
Thanks fo any help/advice.

How did you get the gsm bands? All frequency checker webpages say sprint variant does not have 2g/3g gsm frequencies, only cdma, and LTE. I have not bought the phone yet, I want to make sure I will be able to use it not only on LTE since some places I travel to in Mexico only has 2g/3g/gsm.
