Check how much free ram you are left when lag starts. Also that time check what apps show active that time.
Download app called clean master from play and let it monitor active app or apps which is hogging your memory. It is definately an app causing issue.
I would suggest to cease all downloaded apps for a day and then see if you face similar issue.

well my cpu temp is 58 degrees and once i have it runing its mostly the beast like before ( I think he is jealous of the 2.5 quadcore processor s5 of my mom and completely depressed because the ipad almost see the light)
android system is using 50 % of the battery cant find anything about usage on clean master
and i know what happens if its not have enough ram (it has +- 600 ram free) because i use a s3 now that has sometimes no ram left
and clean master is helping a bit but it is happening again (i think it is battery)
and play store is super slow in loading
and if i turn show everything on i get massages for google play services stopped and that it doesnt react or i want to stop it and some other apps and clean master
cpu is above 50 % always (cpu-z app) but also what was the most annoying of all is that 4g/3g is connected but it is inactive

I cant get in the recovery menu :$ only whatsapp is not working well because of the keyboard that freezes after letter 1 and disapears and i can barely get in a conversation because it will crash
Google play does load super slow and google.framwork service and google etc crash al.the time.

Go into recovery and clear cache.
Also disable apps which you find running and are not needed, this will free more ram for you.
Also install trickster mod from play and change governor to interactive.

Bro my advise would be to root your phone as i do not see any harm in rooting.
Atleast you would be able to enjoy extra minor tweaks with root.
And if you want to enjoy non root only thing i can offer is themes from my thread which you can download from my Signature link.

It also locks itself but the screen will stay on so i see the lock screen but it doesnt react
700 + ram left most times

Try trickster mod from playstore and change your governor to interractive.
I am not sure it will work without root but no harm in trying.
Secondly from service menu update your touch firmware once again.
For keyboard lag, install g3 keyboard apk from offered in themes and app section and it shpuld resove your keyboard lag issue.
Otherwise only option left is to factory reset

Try to uninstall that whatsapp to see how system will act, maybe it is the problem. Also go to developer settings and enable features that will show touch history, and then while enabled check all swipe all areas just to make sure that touch is working ok. GL

Are you the first owner? Maybe the previous owner disabled the temperature control (in order to speed up phone, noob move). This would explain a lot. Because our phone will not get hotter than 76C with temp control on. If you are the first owner and you are sure you saw it reach 90C then you must go to get it repaired.<hidden>
Open your phone’s dial pad and type the following code:*3845#*#. For example, type-3845#*800#*(for At&T model)3845#*801#**(for T-Mobile variants)3845#*802#*(for European variants)3845#*803#*(for AT&T and Canadian variants)5689#*980#*(for Sprint LG G2)Doing this open the service menu of your phone. Scroll down to High temperature property settings and it MUST NOT be ON.
Now turn off your phone. Wait for about 15-20 seconds and then turn it on again.</hidden>

Pnc bank app not working after update

Hi. I use this app quite frequently and after updating last night it seems to have stoped working. When I start it the screen just goes white. Is it possible that the art update caused this?

That "App" is just a link to the mobile site https://m.pnc.com try going there from your browser.

Using reason and logic. Then Yes!
Thx for the reply. I seen the mobile site is identical. I just liked than when using the app and trying to close it it would actually ask if u want to do that and then it would close completly. The stupid phone browser allways stays on in the background.

Gotcha, I use Dolphin HD, so when I hold down the "back" button on the phone it asks me if i want to exit and gives options to clear cache and recent history. 2c
It appears all the banking apps have the same problem after the update. The Bank of America app does exactly the same thing. Maybe it's a security thing.

Messaging Application Remains Open

Well, I just got my new SGS II and noticed that on both the stock Bell firmware (KG3) and the most recent KH3 that the messaging app stays open (as per the Program Monitor widget). I have searched without finding any result. Anyone else notice this and / or have a fix?

It does, unfortunately I noticed this too but it uses little resource. It is annoying to see the open applications count as "one" when you have finished!

Apps like messaging and internet stay in the background even after you close it,because these apps are frequently used and they load faster the next time you use it,but dont worry the android OS will kill them eventually

I waited a long time and the Messaging application never actually closed.
I suspect it is a similar bug to the Contacts issue I had with Froyo where the application remained open. This was later fixed in Gingerbread...

It stays open for me also, If and when the resources get low enough it should close but since we have so much ram i don't think it will ever close. It doesn't really bother me.
Stop using task killers. The android os does not work like windows that relies on free memory. It keeps apps in memory so that they can be instantly opened later. Some system processes will even be started again after you close them.
If a program is in memory but not used for a while it will be flagged to be removed if another app needs more memory. Just because an app is in memory does not mean it is using your CPU.
You are wasting more battery by killing things that you will use again or that the system will restart anyway. This phone has a lot of memory, let the phone use it!

Known bug, it's not a bug, it's a feature,
Your phone has almost 1 Gig of ram, why would you want to micro manage what apps use the ram, has your phone ever run out of ram, has your phone slowed down, does it lag, do you attribute this lag (if there is any) to the messaging app running in the background???
when I replaced my messaging app using stock sms app, then the bug/feature went away

I am not sure why, really. All I am looking for is to have the Program Monitor display 0 instead of a 1...
I am famous for leaving unused tasks open and like to monitor for them using that widget. If I understand correctly running tasks consume CPU which, in turn, drains the battery.
I have noticed that the messaging app is not in the Battery usage list; so, at this point it is an annoyance more than anything...

No, dont use task killers. If anything, it only eats more resources. Android keeps those apps open for a reason, when you open it next time its quicker and actually needs to use less resources. Free memory= useless memory, If there is an app which needs more memory (like a game) android will automatically kill "suspended" apps on background to free up memory. And when you finish playing it will restore those apps again. Killing it with force only causes the app to restart again and again and again and again.... Even windows does it (a little bit differently though).
And if you really want to have control over your processes in background, use watchdog which will warn you if theres an app eating resources in the background.

Instead of trying to uninstall apps, installing Magic Locker allows you to set power saving and this could be very helpful. In my case it doubled the battery life and I now have around 60% left in the evening.
Hope this helps.

There are a number of Apps you can install that will show running applications ~ SystemPanel is one such app.
It comes in two variant ~ Paid & Free.
The free version is okay for looking at what your apps are doing but it does not offer the same level of service that the paid version gives and in this case you do need the paid version.
Full version ($2.99) adds app manager (installer/uninstaller with multi-version APK archival), and long-term application resource monitor to solve app-related battery life problems.
However, for finding out what apps are using your battery you can do this with your phone's built-in settings.
Just navigate to Settings/Applications/Running Services and look at what apps are currently running.
If you don't need a particular app running simply tap on it and select 'Stop'.
Job done that is one app no longer running in the background.
Another option is to again go to Settings/Applications/Battery Usage.
Here you not only see the graph at the top but also a list of main running apps (note not all are shown).
Tap the graph at the top and it shows you various parameters i.e. when the screen was on and when the device was awake. Basically you need both to be the same. If the phone's screen was off but it remained awake you then have an app running constantly in the background.
So, press the back button and look at the list of apps showing. To terminate an app simply tap on it and this time select 'Force Close'.
Spend a little time now and again popping over to these two places (Running Services & Battery Usage) and you should be able to identify what app or apps are eating your battery.

In my case I chose MIUI but I think any theme should work as well. After installation it asked if I wanted to activate the battery saving mode which I accepted to check its performance as I was having battery drain as well and needed a solution.
I was happily surprised the next day. I hope all these issues are fixed by Samsung in ICS.

Easy guide to improve jelly bean experience

Hello guys. I've been playing around with Jelly bean official, deleting some apps, adding other apps, and together with members on this page we were able to find some bugs and some workarounds. Well, i have some suggestions so that you guys can improve on speed (at least seemed to have worked for me ).
1) Download from Play Store app: Android Tuner (link for freeversion, has less options), Titanium backup, Gemini app
2) At Android Tuner, Go to Main Menu then again on the option One-Click (with the blue android) and it'll appear 2 options. One wich says One-click reset (it'll put all the buttons blue with on), and the other ont wich says "on boot" . Click on both, Leave the last one unchecked (it is not necessary to constantly do this, you can do it manualy later.
3) On same page, at the top wich says "build" click on it. Below you'll find a option wich says Presets, click and then Apply all presets. (later search for debug.sf.nobootanimation (click on the red cross, to remove it in orther to keep )
4)SysCtl, click at Recommended, the app will calculate for your phone automaticaly then click on boot so that it'll boot always with same configuration. (we can test this later, other configurations suggested by the users)
5) on the tab, scroll to your left untill you find the option SD, select cache size :2048 then click "on boot)
6) Slide again to the option OOM, and basicacly is setting same configuration as we use on Maximum Overdrive to max usage of RAM :
Select light preset
Then click on boot.
7) Using this app or titanium backup freeze or remove:
Samsung Push notification app
Email.apk
ExchangeServer.apk
8) Using Germini app ,click Menu then expert mode search for the following apps: Maps.apk, talk.apk, select each of them, select configure autorun, then press menu, and Disable app. (The app will still work, but use less the CPU usage, leaving free for other apps).
9) Go back to Android Tuner and On the main menu running click on One-Click (with a toolbox) -> Manage and it'll appear 5 options , click 1 by 1 on each.
10) reeboot
Optional: 11) Remove all live wall papers or convert to user apps, and free till 130 MB memory, using titanium backup, press menu then integrate dalvikcache.
12)Convert database to WAL(faster database).
13)On Android Tuner run again Defrag registry
Now you should have a much smoother experience.
I've tested this with Wanamlite wich is free of bloatware.
I hope this helps to get a better experience.
Note: In touchwiz launcher, when you create a folder at the menu, and you insert there your apps, if after a reeboot for some reason the apps are not there it is because you have your apps instaled on your SD card, go to app manager, select the app and move to Internel SD Card, and it is solved.

For now no. I've made this guide more and less three days after testing. Never has issues. Seems to be working great and fast battery life, With wifi off and power save on. Had an estimated of 7 hours screen watching a movie. When I can test ill share the results. But if someone could test this would be great. Once I had 2 hours and 30 min of display use and still was 78%.

tried on Omega v16.2
made lag appear
guess it's more for fully stock than a chef special
I used System Tuner Pro and it had all the options that were posted here..but i did experience lag with the oom settings so i tweaked them but this app has an option to disable startup items also so you would not need to download Germini app that you were talkng abut

As I remember it comes as a part of the kernel for those devices including LG G2, since there aren't any custom kernels out for these devices yet I highly doubt that's a possibility right now.
you can opt for proximity actions for locking and unlocking, although it would drain your battery a bit.
I'm using Wakeup Touch Nexus which is available in Google Play for free. Dint notice any battery drainage. Very nice app. If anyone got better app can suggest me too...

It's not really "double tap", I use "Gravity Screen" as an alternative to the on/off button

Pretty much every major OEM like Sony, HTC, LG and even Chinese manufacturers like OPPO , Xiaomi etc have implemented double tap to wake on their large screen phones and I really don't know what's stopping Samsung to implement in spite of so many Note generations .
Only way to properly implement this is using a custom kernel for the device
Tap Tap App @ Play Store
Tap Tap App works for me. Galaxy Note 4.
Requires configuration.
Lost functionality, how to get it back?

OK, I've got a VKWorld VK6050S (note the S). This will be a long story, but I feel I must post many details. Otherwise, there will be that smart-*** posting "but you can't do that!!!"
Had the phone for several weeks now. Took a LONG time to set it up and get it running EXACTLY the way I wanted it to. As part of that process, I installed Nova launcher, and an app called "DTSO". Anyway, when it was all set up.... I could double-tap the home screen to lock, and the display would go black. Then, *without using the proximity sensor*, I could double-tap the middle of the BLACK screen, which would cause the display to wake up and display the lock screen. I didn't set a lock on this screen, so I could just swipe up to clear it. Note I could double-tap the BLACK screen to wake it up.
So I was happy with the way everything was set up. Only problem was, it was not stable. Most of the time, if you tried to take a picture, the phone would freeze. (forever). Or sometimes a reboot would take HOURS (starting after the animated vkworld logo displayed) I tried several suggestions. It was not a bad memory card, and it was not corrupted files on a memory card. I tried clearing various caches, etc. Nothing worked. Finally, in desperation...I went to the factory boot menu (chinese, but I found a guide for it) and cleared hardware cache / emmc / whatever. That left me with *** CHINESE LOLLIPOP ***, and all my apps/settings/data were GONE...
(sigh)
So I had to start from figuring out how to switch back to English. And then starting all over again. I wasn't back to "zero". I went back to "minus one". (!!!!)
After many hours setting up the phone again with dozens of applications, getting my account settings input, getting it all configured...
The only thing I can NOT do now is to double-tap the black screen to wake it up. The phone is rock-solid STABLE now, so that is an improvement. But I want it to wake the screen with a double-tap, like it did before!!!
I'm now using "Go" launcher. But I (temporarily) tried "Nova" launcher, like I had it before. DTSO does not work like it used to. It won't wake up the screen while black. Again, this USED TO WORK, so it's not a hardware issue. What did I do wrong? What did I miss in setting this thing up again?
