[Q] video recording bitrate on sgh-T999V - SlimRoms Q&A

Whats the bitrate set for stable realse seven on the unifed build? Can it be increased at all or is their already an option to. The question being is my coworker wants to have his video recording at best possible quality. Im having trouble finding this information on whathe slimrom camera and video recording app is like on samsung devices.
Edited in my sleepyness it auto corrected bitrate to nitrate..

Any way to increase 720P fps?

Is there a custom ROM or even a simple app possible that can capture 720P video at LEAST 25fps for the Evo? I have yet to be able to capture anything better than 22fps. It's unacceptable. Also the audio quality is TERRIBLE. 8Khz? Seriously HTC?

HTC Phones are good but the camera is very poor. If it was recording at 25fps it would still suck... Droid X does 720p recording very well like a mini camcorder. I have HTC Desire..
I managed to get around 30fps..
Audio still poor though
But here's how you do, go to Camera(not video, photo!), change ISO -> 800 (not Auto), then -> Video recording, and it should be more stabile and higher fps.

Video quality worse than in winmo?

So I recorded some videos last night for the first time with hd2 android and i noticed that the sound quality is poorer. Maybe because the format is 3gp instead of mp4 like in winmo. Is this the way with all android builds or is there any build with a good video recording? Thanks

I don't really know, but 720p recording is almost ready for Android so just hang on, I suppose the audio quality will be higher too.
You might wanna check your camera settings though, with some builds you can change the recording quality..
I'm using MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 nand and I've notice the same. Can I change format in any other android rom? because in my I can't. If not I suppose I have to wait on 720p recording.

Desire HD is very capable of recording HIGH quality sound!

I recorded a short clip of my voice with HTC's Voice recorder app. Then i went and downloaded TapeMachine Lite from the market. WOW what a difference. I always thought the DHD's poor audio recording was down to hardware, but clearly not. HTC for some reason set the audio output to 8000Khz, but TapeRecorder records at 44.1Khz or 48Khz, in a format of your choice (WAV is default).
So i was wondering, how easy would it be to implement this quality recording in the camcorder app? If someone does this then i'll happily shell out some money for the cause.
I just repeated what you've just posted. Wow, what a difference. Why this isn't default on the DHD camcorder I don't know.
I think the sample rate in the camcorder is a limitation of the audio codec that is used, just guessing tho as I'm not sure of the all the limitations with aac-lc
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
no the camera 720p encoding is AVC h264 with AAC audio, the standard is baseline L3.1 and based on this standard the audio should be encoded at 44khz 160kb bitrate
8khz is just one of those amazingly stupid things HTC keeps on slipping in, i don't know if its done to lower the stress on the recording frame rate
i sent them an enraged email about this a while ago and all they said that its passed on to the accurate department
but with 8khz i was surprised at the loudness of the recording, which explains your post today
can someone fix it with a patch? and while at it, please increase the screen red saturation a little

G Note Video Recording Thread

I want to start a thread regarding Gnote Video Recording and i have few questions. I use 720p for recording as i have found the recorded video more stable then in 1080p by meening less wobbly/jelly effect, and I also use the stock app for recordings, I have heard the lgcamera is even better but havent tried yet, i dont use any rate/bitrate hacks. Do you guys use the same setup for video recordings or you have found some better video quality recorded videos with some other setup. My recordings usually have:
VIDEO
Data rate 13000kbps
Total bitrate also 13000kbp
Frame rate 29 F/sec
AUDIO
Bitrate 115kbps
Stereo
Sample rate 44khz
I use Franco 10# kernel and CheckRom V5

Q: Oneplus Two Camera Bitrate -> Push it to the max!

Hi,
I am experimenting with the oneplus two camera, i have cynogenmod 12.1 running with the app "cinema 4k", which allows
to set a bitrate of 200mbps for 4k video. the videos it produces only have 160mbps, so there must be some cap in the
h264 encoder or in the device itself. i guess there will be some hardcoded limit somewhere in the quallcom encoder libraries?
does anyone know what part limits the video bitrate on an android device? i already modified media_profiles.xml to set the
bitrate higher (to 300mbps) but it is still recording at 160mbps.
i would like to test how much the device can handle, and how the video quality would be at 250mbps+
because the camera seams really great for video recording at nighttime
thanks, christian
