Install Game SD Card data in Internal SD Card (XOLO Play 8X-1100) - XOLO Play 8X-1000/1100 Questions & Answers

I recently bought XOLO Play 8X-1100 [16 GB internal storage(9.57GB Internal SD Card, around 4GB Device storage for apps)]
The problem is my 32GB external SD Card is almost full (Music, Videos and Games) and I want to install more games. The internal SD Card (9.57GB) is empty.
When I install any games their data automatically goes in the external SD Card (32GB), If I move that data (from /sdcard/Android/obb OR /sdcard/Android/data) to internal SD Card the game either crashes or start to download data from start. Tried with Real Racing 3 (Start downloading data from start), Despicable Me: Minion Rush (Start downloading data from start), Asphalt 8: Airborne (Crashes at start). Now installed Real Racing 3 and Despicable Me: Minion Rush in external SD Card works perfectly fine.
Is there any way to utilize internal SD Card (9.57GB) for game data.
Device is rooted and BusyBox installed

a. Bought it 4 days ago (19-Oct-2014).
b. Performance is really good, No lag anywhere. Tried only 2 big games (Real Racing 3, Asphalt 8: Airborne) works flawlessly without lag. :good:
Battery capacity is 2100 mAh (lithium-polymer). Last a day with 1-2 hours wifi usage, music and video playback. Drains fast if playing graphics intensive game.
c. No network problems till now (no drop). :good: Never used SIM Data connection(neither 2G nor 3G). :fingers-crossed:
d. Camera is 13 MP Sony Exmor RS sensor. Really good camera with fast Autofocus (or touch to focus). Photos are bright and color rich in daylight.
Flash is really powerful. Good photos is low light conditions using flash.
Front Camera is 5 MP 88 degree wide angle. Almost as good as XOLO Q700 rear camera.
Its a really good device in terms of power and camera.
Only negative point is Battery drains fast if playing heavy games, battery should have been around 3000 mAh. But you can always buy a powerbank. :good:

Storing Photos and Videos on SD

Is there any way to ge tthe camera application to store the pictures and video taken directly onto the SD card instead of internal RAM?
From within the Camera Application click on the "tools" Icon, then click tools (bootom toolbar) and select options from there you have an option to change the folder wher the image is stored....simply select storage card.....or whatever else you deem appropriate.
Bugger that wa easy; how dim??
However, after some experimentation I have found it is not practical to store video directly to a card - the transfer rate is not fast enough and the video end up jerky.
strange, I wonder if it has anything to do with the type of SD card you are using, I take videos quite regularly at times a good 2-3 minutes in length which I mail to family back home in the UK and I can't say i've exeperienced anything similar to what you mention. I'm using a SanDisk 512 card with the latest ROM release from I-Mate.
My SD is a Kingston 256.
I wonder if it is something to do with the access times of the SD cards??
I know if you spend more you get a card with faster access times.
Or; what resolution are you taking the video clips in? Obviously the larger resolution will require more data throughput and may slow down the 'saving' of data.
Whats stranger: The Kingston 256MB (Toshiba manufactured) are quite good & stable, whereas Sandisk tipically performs worse and is less stable!
So it has to be the resolution used.
I too experience limitations of the datatroughput when capturing video (biggest resolution) directly to SD.
For pictures it is not a problem.
accesstime should be very low on all sd cards not sure if they differ
accesstime is how long the system can get to the data sector it want to read or write
accesstime mean alot more with hd's because they are mechanical
sd and other flash types have very low accesstime
but the read and write thruput differ
you can use pocket mechianics to benchmark and compare with other sd cards in other pda's
I use the large capture size (240x320) i''ve got pocket mechanic on mine so i'll post the benchmark reults when i get a minute
Sandisk are as good as any other, I have been using them now for 1 year in my MDAII and have been operating without any problem, I use them to store Video, photo's and mp3, and change on a daily basis between about 3 different cards (music, video and photo's)
well in the pocketmechanics benchmark sandisk are not as fast as many other brands
Is it really, didn't know that
So which is the fastet 512 SD currently
donno
try looking at the bench's in pocketmechanics
also there looks to be a difference between the
sd speeds of different pda brands
and also i doubt the benchlist in pocket mechanics
is up to date
and then there is the problem with some cards not being compatible
with some pda's
......
all i got is error message when i set it to save directly to sd card
i have lexar 1gb card.
error message is
cannot record the file
36001106:0
fail to ....the film...etc
any idea?

1Gb SD card - does XDA II support it?

Does it?
Thanx
Igb Card Support
Yes I am using a San Disk Igig card for GPS Maps with no problem.
great ! thanx......
...and I use one for movies!
1 gb
i use it for my MP3s and movies as well.
what about high-speed x60 1G SD card ?
faster then normal speed ?
i'm using 1gig 60x pqi sd card. oftentimes it works. problems encountered: xda2 can't detect the sd card. never done the 3x format yet.
you won't see much in terms of speed in PPC. all these fast speed SD is meant for digital camera & video actually.
I have a 1Gig card by 'Integral' that claims to be high speed. I was having some problems running gps mapping etc from it, though for mp3's and videos it was fine.
I have now bought a 512 SanDisk Ultra 2 card and Tom Tom is much better with this card. Using a multiple file read/write test to copy from the card to itself, the new Sandisk card is significantly quicker, and Tom Tom runs/opens much better than it did with the 1Gig card. So higher speed cards do show an improvement, though not as much as when they are in a device that can take full advantage of the card, like a PC card reader for instance.
I have a x66 PQI 1Gb SD card that I run TomTom3, MP3's and store presentations on. I have had no problems with this card at all. The higher speed of the card does make difference and improves the performance to both the applications and the speed at which data is copied to the card (not using hotsync).
Ive found that some really cheap SD cards have loads of problems.
I bought a cheap card and it was terrible, kept not working, corrupting files etc. I swapped for a 1gig Sandisk, all is well, no problems at all.
I found that the 32meg NOKIA cards given with most new nokia phones a year or so ago dont work. They are totally unreliable.
You get what you pay for, the faster cards are normally more expensive, and ive noticed the difference when copying big files from ram to card.
Get the better cards, its worth it in the long run.

8 gb memory card???

hey ya'll...
considering purchasing an 8gb memory card for my htc herald, have any of you tried this sucessfully??? the storage memory for the internal memory is not that great as you know and even things that you store in the memory card take up shortcut room in memory...what do you think?? are any of you running the phone on 4 GB memory stick? thanks ...
I have no problems running a cheap 8gb micro-sd from a no-name brand in my HTC P4350,
However, mine does feel a bit slower (yes its possible), since the upgrade from a 2gb card.
Ive been using a 8GB for about 6 months now and havent had ANYproblems with it. I actually had more problems with my old 1GB. It runs perfect!
i have the 8 gb card from amazon and i used it in my shadow and now my wing, its awesome, i keep all my phone supplies there and music, movies, vids, ebooks...keeps on going, lol its worth it, will be looking into the 16 gb soon just to be able to have an even bigger collection for on the go
I've got an 8gig Sandisk SDHC in my wing. No worries at all.
I've got an 8gig Sandisk SDHC in my HTC P4350. And it work´s nice with movies and music.
i've been using a 8gb card from kingston, don't pack it too full or else your phone will lag, i use it for mostly music and i find that when i fill it up all the way it gets a little corrupted
looking @ buy.com for the 16gb cards, 40 bucks...just needs to drop a little moer....
i got a sandisk 8gb loaded with movies, mp3s, ebooks basically everything and it runs smooth
yep..8gb is fine. slower than my 4gb, but not too bad

now using 16gb, no lag. works great
ok..sorry for disturbing the hype, but I need to post this:
I upgraded from 1 to 2 GB and now to 8gb..since then I encoutered issues:
First I copy and pasted everything from my 2gb card onto my 8gb SDHC class 2 card and everything run smoothly..but after some days I realised that all my pivtures I took were gone..than I saw that all folder were weired named--re-named...BUT it changed again and besides that the pixx were gone, all run ok again..
but now..since Yesterday..it is the same..folders re-named..pixx gone and my display says please insert storage-card, but it is included AND I can see the content via file explorer or active sync...its the same with the 2gb card..displays shows the "please insert screen" but I can access via onboard file explorer (fyi all folders are ok..not renamed on the 2gb card)
My idea is, that my simply copy and paste from 2gb to 8gb card was not the proper way to do it..or??
Can someone suggest how to manage this? I have no card reader and I havent found a way to format the 8gb card..to do the copy paste or whatever again..
Any ideas are appreciated!
I have 8, 8gb cards filled and use everyone of them and no problem at all
Did you try right-clicking on the storage card and re-formating it to deault thats what i had to do when i had that problem and havent had a problem since if that doesnt work then you will need to find a cheap usb card reader online....... and if that doesnt help let me know and i might have another solution to help you re-format it
hey phaze, right click within active sync does not allow "format" ..so i tought as well of the card reader thing..or where could I be able to use right click-format option?
do sdhc is correct to use for htc 4350? I hear dform mycard supplier that only sd is usable? so is that my mistake?

The gsii and external micro sd..

After upgrading to a 16gb external I was unhappy to find that most games and applications won't install on it, and yes I tried using apps2sd, to find after a few reboots the icons were dim (not valid) and the game data somehow disappeared. A 500mb game now turned into 32kb when uninstalling. This has happened to not only one game but many. Including Asphalt 6 and Nova. So what options do we have when installing large size games such as modern combat? Use the inbuilt 16gb? Mines already full.

Try a root app called force2sd found on the android market. Works on ALL apps
Is the sd card even legit? Also check for errors and completely reformat it.

Maybe something is wrong with your SD card. Mine Lexar 32GB Class 10 works fine.
Well, it could be worse...
In my case i had an old 2 Gb Samsung class 2 in my SGS2, and all apps installed on the INTERNAL SD (no room on the external, as i had filled it up with mp3's).
Then i bought a new Kingston 16 Gb class 4, and changed the 2 cards, and expected no problems - with the thought on that no apps were installed on the external SD - but... half of my apps were greyed out, and didn't work afterwards. To make things worse, i tryed to install the apps again form the market, only to find that it didn't repair the old apps, but installed new apps besides the broken apps. And i had difficulties deleting the old apps.
I changed the card some times on my old HTC, with no problems - but on this phone i will never do it again - i had a LOT of apps on my phone, and some of them bought outside the market, so i had to pay for some new downloads on that account.
Thank god that all my Gameloft games were not destroyed - even that they were installed in the internal SD.
Maybe i was just lucky on my old HTC, but this made me somewhat unsecure on the SGS2, and as written above - i will NOT change the card again.
Maybe someone can explain how the internal and the external SD-memory works together, in conjunction to my and fluidz problems with the external SD-card. It somehow seems that the external SD is connected with the internal SD, so that some apps depends on both to be installed - even if the apps is not moved to the external SD... ????
On my old Aspire one netbook, an external SD-card would be added to the internal SD-card that worked as an harddisk. So that the internal AND external SD worked as one harddisk all together. That gave the result, that if you unmounted the SD-card, the netbook was somewhat missing files, that was moved back and forth on the external SD (eg. it would mess it up, if you changed something or installed new programs, AND unmount the external SD afterwards). Is it the same on the SGS2????

Possible to use 2 simcards + memory card in the K20 hybrid card slot?

I saw some video (
)
that using some additional adapter, we can use 2 sim cards and also 1 SD card in the hybrid card slot.
Has anyone tried to do this? Does this work perfectly?
If yes, then my next query is what all things can be moved to SD Card for K20 MIUI12? All apps, music, camera pictures, etc?

If you have that video - can you post the link, and where to buy that adapter
My Mi 9T is no more a daily driver but I did use a similar adapter earlier on my previous phone
SD card provides additional storage for the stuff like your documents, downloaded music, movies and so, that you otherwise be saved to Internal memory - but not to expand or instead of /data partition (being used for installation of applications)
Also, SD card is generally slower than Internal memory. Check does your Camera app support saving to SD card (instead of to Internal memory).
If it does, still google about the SD card speed specs vs requirements for video resolutions - if SD is not fast enough, you would have troubles recording videos
Xiaomi K20 doesn't have a slot dedicated to memory card , nor Xiaomi K20 Pro . This means the maker didn't design sensors to read data from memory card , transmission line to process data to CPU and vice versa . So in case you had done tricks to compact memory card in SIM card slots , no way it can be read . It's like a DVD player reading DVD disc , you can do trick to put Blu-ray disc in but the player's reading eye , format processing chip were not designed for , so it failed definitely .
You mentioned to K20 MIUI12 but I see the video of your link shows the different phone with dedicated memory card . I have Samsung Tab S6 having 2 slots of SIM card cobedding with memory card slot , so you should do tricks like in the video .
Search your phone to see it has memory card slot or not , please .

Thank you for telling me this. I just checked by trying to insert a MicroSD card lying with me. It does NOT support micro SD. It only has space for 2 NANO-sims. MicroSD card is too big to be inserted.
Thank you, I just avoided wasting money on a hybrid adapter.
