Hello,
I found this ROM to be great, operates really well but I have two problems.
Firstly, the LED notification indicator does not work at all, including when plugged in.
Secondly, whenever I enter my SD card into the phone it seems to be unable to mount. I receive the message "SDcard safe to remove now" almost as soon as I plugged it in like I unmounted it.
Any idea why?

Note: problem solved with new update, clean installed.
I keep getting a random "updating camera firmware. Please wait.." message, I'm not even using the camera it just pops randomly when opening apps. Anyone know what's wrong . it takes at least 20 seconds till it stops popping up and disappears. I'm paranoid that I have an app that's taking photos and uploading them without me knowing.

Facebook Messenger app conecting issue
Hi, I have recently install Kangakat V9.0 , everything its ok , but I´m Having problems with Facebook Messenger app
I can send and receive text messages , but when I´ll try to make a call, never get conection, even with my network full and H+
Thats weird , because my friends can make calls
I have an SGH-I337m

updated TWRP and I got the same error:
phone reboots and then pauses for a moment reboots and goes into recovery.
i337 and running the loki'd googy or google stock kernal. thanks for all the work you do! (iBastid) you're incredible.

No LTE on Kangapop 1.0
FYI -- Just clean flashed kangapop 1.0 -- and I got no LTE capabilities, even if I try to manually change it in cellular settings.
Tried both the loki'd googy and loki'd stock kernel -- no difference in behavior, still no LTE.
Otherwise a very promising ROM! Can't wait for version 1.1

Tried the select LTE and then reboot trick a few times and LTE still won't work. Anyone else having this issue? I am on Rogers.

LTE works fine my i337 while on Kangapop with stock lokid kernel. My boot loader and modem is both MDL.
Mine also has TWRP 2.8.0.1.
Edit: I am on T-Mobile.

I have observed that with kangkat/pop that under access point names, rogers LTE does not appear. I manually input apn using the sceenies of the settings from my GoldenEye ROM. Cheers.

I did that too and it wasn't working. Until I started driving home and then suddenly it started working again. LTE is functioning again for me, but it took like an hour to find an LTE connection the first time.

Im having same problem. Keeps rebooting to recovery. Im also on Rogers network. Im using multirom as well I dont know if that have anything to do with it

Did that for me on googy. I flashed googy 1.2.3d. Worked fine. 1.2.3 stuck on Sammy logo then to recovery. I am using Antares one's twrp f2fs recovery.

Encryption
Has anyone been able to get the device encrypted after flashing this ROM? I am using the TWRP recovery and flashed the latest build after wiping everything instructed to. I picked the google loki kernel. When I try to encrypt I just get the new loading screen and it never begins the encryption process. After that it tells me that the encryption process failed and the only way to do anything at that point is to flash back to stock with Odin. I have been using CWM with the 4.4.4 ROMs and able was able to encrypt no problem. I did notice I wasn't able to encrypt using TWRP and the 4.4.4 9.0 Kangakat but I am able to encrypt using that same ROM and the CWM recovery. I hope I am doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated and welcome. Thank you

Menu buttons on screen like a nexus phone, not using the samsung buttons?

I fell in love in first sight with this rom! However, there is one thing I can't seem to figure out what I've done wrong (maybe it's because of the beer, lol..)
I have the default nexus buttons like if it was a Google phone. Here is what I tried so far :
I tried the Stock Google options, and the 2nd option for the Bell Canada available (not AT&T).
I would like to have the Samsung buttons available for use instead of the Google nexus menu. Correct me if I did anything wrong throughout the installation but I believe I've tried most of the options that were available to me but I can't seem to find what I've done wrong.

@houstonn was originally developing but stopped in June due to computer failures which is being resolved soon. His last build of 6/29 was on 4.4 sources and required the modem of stock 4.4.
The current builds supplied by @ayysir and now @jakew02 are on 4.2 sources which would require that specific modem.
Which ones exactly not sure as I am not familiar with every carrier version only sprint.

It has been stated in the ROM thread multiple times that you must use a 4.2 STOCK JB MODEM for best compatibility. Any other modems you guys use is solely at YOUR OWN DISCRETION. @MeestaAytch they should know what to use at this point but thanks for clarifying again for those who don't want to search before posting :highfive:

@jakew02 no problem. I know it's tiring repeating the same information but from what I've seen in my time using XDA.... It'll never change.
I'm glad you devs still continue doing what you're doing for us though knowing this nonsense goes on.

A few bugs
Hi,
The thread is too big for me to go thru it post by post so I'll just make a few questions and hopefully I'll get some answers. I flashed this ROM and it was working flawlessly. I only found very few bugs like not being able to set up multiple recurrent alarms because the app would freeze and there was another bug but I can't remember. The problem I find frustrating is with the text messages or SMSs. At first I was not receiving SMSs. Then I was receiving them but I couldn't send any. I returned back to stock VS98024a and I'm still having the same problem but at least I'm getting a pop-up when "General problems: cause code 96". I have googled this several times in several ways and can't seem to find a solution, not even on the Verizon site or help app on the phone. I need help with this please.

ok, so im quite familiar with flashing roms etc, ive had cyanogenmod and cloudy g3 installed on my d802 without any problems however when i flashed paranoid android 4.4 (i used the appropriate one for my model) i am left with no service, it seems that my sim is not recognised . ive tried reflashing several times and even reflashed my old rom which worked (calls, texts data) please could someone help me as i love the look and feel but cant use my phone without radio.

Please state exact filename and order of wipe/flash.

Just tried the test build for D802. Booted at LG logo for a while then screen turned black with 2 red lines and one green vertical line. I was so sure I was gonna get the permanent black lines but then again I read that the damaged screens are caused by already faulty hardware under high heat.
Anyways, I panicked and then I restarted the phone by pressing power + down. Then I got the weird boot sequence like everyone above describes and it boots into the OS. Thank God I got no black lines! However it wasn't stable for me as the phone rebooted itself twice within the span of 20 minutes. I'm going back to 13/10 build for now.

Any d802 users flashing latest twitter released rom can you please report here if jdi or lgd and whether or not weird logo appeared?
I'm on jdi and had weird logo appeared after clean flash. I did not let the rom boot and reflashed previous version without further problems

FYI, houston's latest works great so far on the VS980. Clean flash, using RenderKernel R24.

So i have the vs980 and i currently have xdabbebs rom on my phone, but i want to try PA. Can someone explain how to flash a rom over another rom, or is there something else i should do. i tried it once by flashing with twrp and it just hung on the lg sreen. luckily i had a back up

Migrating from one ROM to another is for me like this:
1. Nandroid backup
2. Wipe all except sdcard (yes, wipe system)
3. Flash new ROM
Be sure to always have a Nandroid backup!
And always check what baseband (aka radios or modem) your new ROM is requiring.

If you are UPDATING your current ROM, I.e. flashing a new build of let's say paranoid android, you can flash the updated file right on top of your old system. That is called DIRTY FLASHING and it's actually risky, so please, always do Nandroid backups!

I would;
Update my custom recovery to the latest
Download recommended baseband, to be on the safe side
Redownload the ROM
Check the md5-checksum
Retry to install it
Flash the recommended baseband, better safe than sorry
Never give up

Hi guys i just flashed the newest build and out of all the roms i have flashed i have never seen this problem. After i flashed i have no sim service at all. Done a clean install still no good.

Unfortunately, Airdroid has stopped.
Since, I fear that part of this issue may be related to this rom, I was wondering if you guys knew why the newest version of airdroid was failing at login/startup of the app. I receive the error message "Unfortunately, Airdroid has stopped" every time I attempt to open it. Is anyone else having that problem? And if so, did you find a solution?

Is your SELinux permissive? I'm on one of the other GPE's but Airdroid works fine for me. I started using it because I dropped my phone and damaged the AMOLED and it bleed and is now almost entirely blacked out

SELinux is set to permissive. It's only been since the new update that I've been having problems. I've tried restarting the phone and deleting and reinstalling the app, but nothing has fixed it with that minimalistic troubleshooting. If you can tell me how to troubleshoot it further, I'm definitely willing to give it a try.

If you have terminal emulator or adb shell, type in "getprop ro.bootloader"

I have AT&T Stock ROM, rooted and unlocked. Managed to install Safeatrap 3.71. How do I install a Custom ROM? All the files of the size around 300-400mb I have tried to install does boot, just loops after installing in Safestrap.

Hello, great work on the ROM! I'm running Verizon NC5 with safestrap, everything works as mentioned. I haven't read if the IR is functional for running smart ON or any other TV remote. It doesn't seem to work for me since I flashed this ROM but did on others. Either way I'm staying put, just wondered. thanks for your time.

Sorry for a total noob question, but I'm new to flashing and I'm paranoid
It says in the first post to do a full wipe if coming from a different ROM... Would stock TW count as a different rom? Or can I dirty flash this to the stock slot without doing anything else?

No worries ask away. Yes stock TW would be considered a different ROM.

Not sure if anyone is having this similar problem, but I cannot seem to get the flashlight toggle to work. I flashed the fix file multiple times and still nothing. Any ideas? (I'm on R12-2)

I'm having healthservices crash constantly. I went from "stock" rooted 4.4.4 to your 12-2 release with a dirty flash. Do I need to wipe anything? For now I turned off S health and everything else seems to be working fine.

If you can't get it working, backup your apps and clean flash.

As stated in the OP, flashing from a different ROM (stock is a different ROM) you need to clean flash.

Thanks! After it brought me to the q&a I saw the other post and realized this. I wiped, flashed 12-2 and updated to 12-4. Running very fast, no issues so far!

Is there any way you could mirror the download on another site? I currently do not have a computer at my house and I have to use a work computer which has androidfilehost blocked. I would very much like to receive the latest updates to this wonderful rom.

Mine works. When in particular does it FC?

Works pretty well. Battery life has definitely improved.

NI2 Firmware
So, what happens if I don't flash the NI2 firmware with ODIN after flashing the ROM with safestrap? In my haste to get this up and running I may have run out of the house before flashing the firmware. As of now it's running fine and it says my build is OptimalRom. I can see Viper has installed and the volume up flashlight tweak is working. It seems to be mostly there short of the extra toggles in notifications.
Chances are I'm going to get home later and fix this, but I was just curious because at the moment my phone is running great.

It would probably work on other firmwares (since rooting NI2 requires downgrading), just not 100% stable and you'll probably get many FCs. What's your baseband say? If it ends in NI2, then you're fine. If it says NE9 or NCG or NHA, then you'll want to flash the NI2 firmware.

Baseband ends in NI2. But, like I said, it's running pretty much flawlessly. Being paranoid of something down the line not working correctly I'm probably just going to fix it later tonight though. Thanks for the quick response! If this is not 100% than I'm going to be extremely happy when I re-do it later and get it working correctly. Cheers.

I've double checked md5's , re-wipped & re-flashed several times ..with repeating result.
Background info: im working w/ a retail G900V that was on bean's alliance rom build 2 running on NE9, prior to updating & switching to acheron. Firstly, I unrooted ect..back to stock firmware >> took OTAs all the way up to NK2 >> odin flashed back down to NCG, towelrooted, supersu >> odin flash to back up to NK2 >> install busybox, and apply safestrap >> made nandroid w/ ss, wiped x2 , flashed acheron 4.5.1, booted to the issue at hand :/
again, any help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated :]

first page (english) >> click next >> recognizes sim card >> click next - SETUP Config force closes.

I've double checked md5's , re-wipped & re-flashed several times ..with repeating result.
Background info: im working w/ a retail G900V that was on bean's alliance rom build 2 running on NE9, prior to updating & switching to acheron. Firstly, I unrooted ect..back to stock firmware >> took OTAs all the way up to NK2 >> odin flashed back down to NCG, towelrooted, supersu >> odin flash to back up to NK2 >> install busybox, and apply safestrap >> made nandroid w/ ss, wiped x2 , flashed acheron 4.5.1, booted to the issue at hand :/
again, any help and/or insight would be greatly appreciated :]

No....that sounds perfect and how you should flash. Were you on WiFi when you started the wizard?

I ended up getting it figured out. haha I think it had something to do w/ a reactivation lock security setting in my samsung account...so booting on the non-official firmware with the freshly flashed custom rom caused my samsung account to think it was a different phone haha!
To get around this, I reflashed back down with a stock odin file and then turning off the security features..re-did everything mentioned above...and now it works perfectly :]

Glad you got it figured out. I completely forgot about reactive lock.

I noticed this rom comes with Wanam I was wondering if after installing it you loose HD calls and video calls? I'm asking because this happened before on a different rom

It shouldn't. I still have mine available and use them. Question, how did you lose HD and Video calls with Wanam?

I have no idea right now I'm using Rick rom all I did was install Wanam enable it I change the color of the toggles and center the clock on the status bar that was it that's when I noticed I didn't have the video icon on the dialer also called my wife (she has also an S5) I noticed I didn't have HD calls. I'm gonna try to install your rom later on. Thanks

Your on NK2 correct? NI2 and NK2 enabled VoltLTE for HD calling.

At any rate.. has anyone else been struggling w/ the native 'Download Booster' toggle?
This is not exclusive to 4.6, I noticed it on 4.5.1 as well.
The Download Booster feature definitely turns on without any sign of failure....however, it doesn't actually ever activate. even when downloading large file w/ solid 4g + wifi connections.
Any insight and/or help getting this to work would be appreciated greatly!
..this is obviously not a big deal by any stretch of the imagination...jus would be nice to exploit this useful luxury :]

So download booster turns on but its not truly working?
When you turn download booster on and try to use it, could you get me a logcat......I'll see what's missing.

Debloated rom question
On my verizon s5 I'm using the ACHERON rom and s health was removed. I have found the health service apk and the s health (working) apk. But when I try to check my heart rate the red light does not come on. Am I still missing more files? If so could I be given a link or at the least be told what I still need and I can get the file off my wife. Thanks in advance!
