I was thinking about ordering from them, but they want me to put in billing info and a CC before they tell me whether or not there are taxes to NY, and I scanned their ToS and saw no mention of what states they specifically charge taxes.
Worthless. I won't want to put a card in before I know whether or not there are sales tax.

I didn't have to do that. I pressed on pay with paypal and it showed me how much I would owe before signing in.

Thanks, I tried the paypal "price check" instead and yeah, paypal was asking me to pay $42 bucks in tax for NY. Will look somewhere else.
Definitely tax in Florida-7% which is same as Amazon, Best Buy, and others.

Arizona resident too, you should be taxed. Outside of the new internet tax rules, the old rules said you had to be taxed on internet stuff if they had faciilities in Arizona. Amazon owns a warehouse here, they've been charging taxing me for a long time. Which is why I'm waiting for Newegg to add Shoprunner support to the Nexus 9 so I can buy it from them.

Yeah it always does. Im going through the @cpwcares twitter feed at the moment, they're pretty good and tend to send you a decent link to a support section that will help you. Telephone support is awful.

I have just telephoned CPW and the lady I spoke to seemed very confused when I told her. She said that it was showing on my order status that the price was £429.99 so she didn't know why I was charged £549.95.
I was asked to go into a CPW store with a copy of my bank statement and email confirmation so they could arrange a refund. I said that this will inconvenience me as I can't get to a store between now and the New Year so I was asked to fax the information instead. Now I have got to wait 1-3 days for a response.
Anyone else telephoned them about this?

I live in hope. Just hope the phone gets here sometime this week.

The lady I spoke to this morning phoned me back at around 4.30pm to say that they have now had an internal email regarding this price drop and that anyone who paid the pre order price of £549.99 would receive a cheque in the post in the next 7-14 days for £119.99.
I have had my dispatch email with its tracking number and it shows I paid £429.99 lol

I just called my Costco and they had nothing in their inventory about the Motorola Xoom, strange. It's stuff like this that makes me iffy that EVERY Costco will have it on release day, especially if it's not even on their website.

True, but as i said i actually read the first email myself. It said "as soon as the 22 they would have a live demo, as soon as the 24 they would have the sell units." I think the key is AS SOON AS. This means depending on previous sells and the area the costco is in, it may be different. It may be they are holding out info too. Let me see if i can get the item number real quick. <Not in the system yet> Also make sure you are asking for the phone kiosk, not the main store.

The new word is it may end up being 11/17/11 after all just as originally announced and this SUCKS of course cuz I chose this over the Nexus due to the earlier release date.
Otherwise I would've waited and saved on the accruing interest charges - although I could've saved the credit just in case of an emergency of some sort. Hell I've never paid full price for a phablet or smartphone before let alone buy an unlocked version.

I ordered from England @ a place called Clove.co.uk & paid $705 US. But this is for an UNLOCKED PHONE, I will not be bound by any yearly contact with anybody. I'll be free to go to the best carrier with the best coverage & price anytime I want to.
The price is with it to me considering its going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $299 - $399 WITH A 2-year contact. So do I think it worth the price? Hell yes I do!

You scared the **** out of me!!! The difference in pricing comes down to the shipping fees. I pre-ordered early, like when they announced it on September 1. I've been hitting the site daily finally saw a sort of decent price and spanked that monkey baby!
It could also have been the exchange rate too. I called Handtec and the difference comes down to shipping making Clove & Handtec pretty much the same price +/- a few $$$. That isn't enough to make me cancel the order and go with Handtec. Also, Handtec seems a little confused when you ask specific questions relating to specs and other info.
Maybe it was just the hit I dealt with - I dunno. Lastly, they're offering a version"network unlocked" which as he described as "upon boot I would see a network logo and from then on it would be basically unlocked, and that could be taken care of by either rooting the PHABLET or some other kind of software solution". Oh the price for that version is roughly £448.99 if you want to take a chance on that. They are expecting to receive they're first shipment on 10/31 and puter-orders will go out that same day.
Sounds awful confusing comming from a sales rep from such a well known dealer. For me that pretty much sealed Handtec' fate of me NOT buying a phablet from them.

I think that's what all of us are afraid of: Amazon not receiving stock day 1. FYI, Google Play store is still showing the Nexus 9 as shipping on the 3rd. The obvious (big) difference is shipping: $3.99 vs $18.99 for next day delivery.

I feel the same as @danlo. I think I will wait until I hear back fro Amazon CSR Christopher. I have been a prime member since it started and I order a lot through Amazon so hopefully that will cause them to get back to me on what is really going on and if there is a delay, how long. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Everyone email Amazon about this. Maybe one of us will get a proper response.

I'm in Georgia. HTC e-commerce store activities are handled by an intermediary called Digital River, Inc. (DRI) who (according to their site) also handle e-commerce stores in the US for Samsug, Lenovo, Logitech, Adobe, Microsoft among many other well-know consumer tech brands (did a very brief info search). So most likely DRI doesn't have physical presence in my state, for which I got tax exempted (unlike Amazon that now collects taxes here).
This is just a standard reply they send out for pre-orders. After a set number of days passes and an item has not shipped the system sends out an email. Same thing happened to me months ahead of my PS4 shipping. If you check your order status you will see it is still set to ship on Nov. 3rd.

Glad to see that you got that message. So if there are not going to be delays win Amazon, why the "#$%"# did they have to send that e-mail alerting that "as of now we don't have a delivery date"? What's the deal with that?
(I guess I have to say that this pushed me to change stores which allowed me to save the tax charge, so at least something good came out of this mess for me)

I wish i could my man . I actually signed up and ordered some stuff and then cancelled . Now i cant do that. I dont use amazon prime at all .. so

I purchased note 20 ultra from freedom (Carrier) in canada on 26th August and as we were told that the free redeemable products (buds live and game pass) are only for pre order but today while browsing through samsung members app, i noticed that i was welcome with a redeem your voucher banner and upon clicking it, i found out that even those who purchased Note 20 and 20 Ultra between August 21 to September 04th can also redeem those free gifts before September 30th. This is for USA & CANADA. so I don't if i am late to the party but hurry up and claim those bonuses
Try it and see. I purchased mine after preorder and was able to get the voucher. I am in the US.

Go to the Samsung Shop App. That's where mine showed up. In fact my Samsung Shop tells me I still have a $150 credit after I used mine for Buds Live.

My voucher was ready in the Members app under "my page" tab and a quick tap, copy the code and as soon as I tapped on view it, it took me to Samsung Canada web site and I placed the order! Free!

You lucky guys. It didnt let me redeem when i saw it and on mine it said only pre orders till August 20th were eligible i ordered after that. Lets see if something shows up in a day or two.

I just downloaded my voucher from members app in less than 36 hours and i received my package as well. You should see the coupon/voucher under benefits section of members app

Weird. I am sending you the full page screenshot of the voucher and terms and conditions. Even though I don't see it whether it's for usa or canada or both at this point but it does say first 15000 users and i bought my phone around 26th August and i was able to redeem so you should too. Maybe try contacting samsung regarding this?
