[Q] Proper Kernel for flashing CM 11 on SM-G900F - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I wanted to flash CM 11 on my KLTE S5 (SM-G900F), I was on stock 4.4.2. having custom recovery philz_touch_6.57.8-klte.tar.
I flashed AVALON-KLTE_AOSPPPP Kernel in order to flash the CM 11 but it gave me status 7 error.
I flashed another AOSP kernel KT-SGS5-KK4.4-AOSP-G900-10.15.2014, again this gave me Status 7 error.
I am aware of CM Team's tutorial here using Heimdall Suite. but I am looking for an easier method for flashing CM11.
I would appreciate anyone giving me a Proper and Working Kernel for Flashing 4.4.4 CM.

[Q] Flash KT AOSP kernel

So, here's what I'm trying to do:
"flash CM 10.1 5/30, Flash Gapps, Flash KT AOSP kernel. (MAKE SURE IT'S THE AOSP ONE)"
I have flashed CM 10.1, flashed Gapps and everything seems to be working on my S4 (at&t).. well, except for the bluetooth, of course.
What I'm trying to figure out is why do I need to flash KT AOSP kernel and where can I get it?
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Just trying to figure out where I can get the kernel to be used with CM10.1 which I'm already running.

[Q] Omnirom + Samsung-N7000 unable to flash any other Custom ROMs

Hi,
I recently started experimenting with omnirom and Samsung Galaxy N7000. The build installs perfectly fine along with Google Apps (from Paranoid Android) . However, when I try to install another Custom ROM like Paranoid Andriod-3.99-RC2 for N7000 or PACMAN ROM for N7000, it fails to install. The details:
Omnirom version: omni-4.4-20131204-n7000-NIGHTLY
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 - International / India.
Google Apps: pa_gapps-full-4.4-20131126-signed
I have attached the log (recovery.txt) for reference.
Any advise / help is appreciated.

This is a recently confirmed issue that I'm not sure what the solution is.
Google made a bunch of changes to how system properties are handled between 4.3 and 4.4. They created some compatibility features such that 4.4 update-binaries would flash on older (4.3 and previous) recoveries, but that doesn't work when flashing zips with 4.3 (and older) update-binaries from a recovery built with 4.4
On most devices, the solution is to just build recovery from a 4.3 tree - but since recovery and kernel are one and the same on the galaxys2 family, there's currently no good solution other than flashing a kernel with a 4.3 (or older) recovery in order to flash a 4.3 (or older) ZIP.
Or the other option which SHOULD work is to remove all the assert checks from the updater-script.
Just flash a custom CM10.2 kernel like raw kernel 4 r3p2 and reboot in recovery.
Then follow the instructions for PA or Pacman.

[Q] OmniROM bootloop

So I'm wanting to flash the omni rom that is off of omni's official download site for my vs980. Whenever I try to flash a nightly it keeps looping at the LG screen. Any fix?
Vs980
Coming from unofficial CM11 builds
26A
Ive got the same issue. Ive tried flashing it a few times with the 11/12 nightly and I get a bootloop. Coming from cloudyg3, 24a, 2.8.1.0 TWRP
Omnirom boot issue; need to see what baseband / modem needed
You need to install baseband 12b ; do some checking around - i do not fully understand it ; CM, SlimKat and OmniRom need a JB based modem ( 12b ) and others use a kit kat based on ( 24A )
This thread has them posted : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426
I have Omni on the phone at the moment - flashed the 12B ; then the ROM and gapps -
I have been bouncing back and forth to stock - go back to stock ; flash the 24A , then do a recovery from my stock nandroid

First custom ROM

Hello!
I have a GT-I9505 (jfltexx) with android 5.0.1 (stock rom) and I would like to flash my first custom ROM - specifically CM 11. Do I have to downgrade to KitKat first (via Odin?) or can I just root, install TWRP and flash it from Lollipop?
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide.

Only thing you need to do:
- Flash TWRP
- Flash the custom rom you want.
ps do not use outdated custom roms like CM 11. Always use the latest custom roms available. Thus CM 12.1.

(Solution) How to fix bootloop on You Yureka CM11 KitKat after installing TWRP.

I tried flashing TWRP 3.2.3.0 on my You Yureka which was running Stock cm11 KitKat. I searched a lot a after my phone got stuck in bootloop and apparently nobody knows the correct solution. So here is the correct solution.
Cm11 KitKat doesn't support the latest version of twrp. So you need to flash TWRP 2.8.6.0 (or any older version) on it using fast boot. Now TWRP should work. Now flash the Stock ROM using fastboot(I'm a new user so can't post link of it. Would be helpful if someone can.) Now, download the official cm12 update and UPGRADE from cm 11 to cm12 using this update from stock recovery. Now you can flash the latest version of TWRP and all custom ROM as other guides mention.
