Nexus 6, Nexus 9 or both? - Nexus 6 General

Are you getting the N6, N9, both or neither?
I preordered the N9 and still debating on the N6

What is the point of this poll??

Just a curious question

Ill be getting both eventually. Going to get the Nexus 6 on release day first and then the Nexus 9 about a month or so after it releases.

Just the Nexus 6. Having a six inch phone makes a tablet unnecessary for my usage.

I'm in the same boat. The N6 itself is almost a freaking Nexus 7

Just the Nexus 6 for now. I have a Nexus 7 [2012] & I'm hopping Lollipop will breathe some new life into it

Just the Nexus 6. I don't have a need for a tablet.

I don't have a need for the tablet, but it's too sexy to not buy. They got me.

Should I Get The Nexus 7?

Hey,
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum, i am new as you can see.
Over the past month I have been battling to get the Nexus 7, I already have an ipad 1 but that's having its ios support stopped with 6 so i thought i might as well upgrade, I have enough money to buy one and get rid of my ipad 1 but is the jump great enough to sell my ipad? Also if you have the nexus 7, do you love it or hate it?
Thanks,
Techno_Guy21
Well my son broke my iPad 2 and I used the insurance to get the Nexus 7 instead of a replacement and don't regret it even slightly.

I vote yes on the nexus 7 and give it a month. If you miss the iPad, sell the 7 and buy an iPad.

the 2nd gen nexus 4 is called nexus 5
Reasons : best device at that time with best cpu, best ram etc, at the cheapest price with perfect screen size and res, latest updates and lots of development.
Most of the above reasons are still true
No, the Nexus 4 doesn't have any "generations" so to speak.
But there are a few different revisions. Like Rev 10, 11, 12, 13.
Look here:
celltraderonline.com/showthread.php?4253-Knowing-The-Difference-Nexus-4-REV-10-Vs-Nexus-4-REV-11
But they're all the same phone really, just minor improvements.

oh, thanks for your info, that's all hehe.. im glad to hear it
I got it two weeks ago because my iPhone broke a month back and I needed a phone that would be cheap. Lo and behold I found mine mint condition for only 240$ on craigslist. Before my iPhone I used an inspire 4g which was pretty good. The hardware on this is pretty good for only 230$. The nexus 5 looked pretty good but seemed to have a lot of launch issues and it didn't have any features I'd need to pay the extra money for. That said I'll probably get a nexus 5 when it becomes cheaper too.

Buy N7 or wait for N8?

Hi guys/gals,
I can pick up n7 for £179 but is it worth waiting for n8?
I know price will be 300 or thereabouts as screen increase but would the extra cpu and ram and maybe resolution make it worth it for 1" bigger screen?
Thanks
There is no reason for waiting for N8,since it's just a rumour d no official word on it. A new Nexus device probably launch with a new version of android & expect it around June or July. So waiting for N8 may be worthless.
Still Nexus 7 2013 is an awesome device & you will love your new purchase. E179 is an awesome deal & you should definitely grab it
Nexus 7 (2013) with stock AOSP ROM(4.4.2), FRANCO Kernel (r12)

More than the extra inch in screen size, something worth the wait could be the possible change in the aspect ratio if they will move from 16:10 to 3:2. However this change isn't confirmed and so it simply depends on your current needs. July is 5 months away from now. If the market price will be higher than all the previous launch prices for N tablets, the SoC could even be something nice and new like the Snapdragon 805 and so worth the wait.
Yeah SoC upgrade will be worth it.
My only not sure area is as I already have a Asus TF300T (yes it is a slow hog) I can still use it for videos etc while at home fine. I just need something portable for trains so dont want to spend over £200 on that as already have 10" tab. So the fact that the N8 if made wont be same price as N7 at launch I doubt I can spend that much.
Thanks guys
Only thing that would be worth the wait in my opinion is if:
# they add a digitizer for pen input
# possibly a more efficient battery (not necessarily bigger)
# 64 bit chip with the necessary RAM upgrades to see the actual boosts in performance
The Nexus 7 2013 still flies as it is. I doubt there will be pen input and 64 bit tablets at the moment still only see around 2 GB of RAM.
I'd go with the Nexus 7. Just my 2 ¢ents!

I bought it
£179 for a N7 is good I think. Doubt N8 will drop to that price less then a year of release!
If the next nexus is made by ASUS, I'm not buying it. I'll switch to LG or Samsung. Both my nexus 7s from 2012 and 2013 have had frustrating touch screen issues that eventually make me not want to use them for anything but reading books.

Yes.
Kinda wish I spent extra 25 for 32gb.

I personally love the form factor of the N7. I use this on the go sometimes. The form factor is small enough I slip this into pocket and use it like I would a phablet(minus calling and SMS) these days hangouts and Facebook suffice. I tether my N5 to this bad boy since I have free 2.5 of tethering

I was planning on waiting but I got such a good deal on a Nexus 7 32gb last week that I couldn't pass it up ($115 for a open box 32gb one). I might consider switching to the Nexus 8 if the specs are nice enough though.

I would imagine that a gently used 32gb Nexus 7 2nd gen would sell for more than $100 even after the Nexus 8 is announced.
But anyways, yes you make a valid point and that is what I was suggesting in my prior post. Very interested to see nexus 8 though. I will probably be content though.
Agreed. After returning N7 fhd in July, got a much better one in Nov. but still interested in the N8 if, indeed, one comes to fruition.

I was thinking the same thing but I'm just going to get a nexus 7 2013 now and worry about the 8 later if it is indeed a beast in specs and good price point.

Nexus 8 interesting but depend who will manufacturing this Model, I had enough with sh*t Asus.
I was thinking about the same thing but grabbed the Nexus 7. I really like it a lot and it's amazing how much faster it is than the previous Nexus 7. I only got the 16GB but it's more than enough for me.
R U sure there is still N8?

Is it worth to buy Nexus 7 i2015 ?

Hi everybody.I am planning to buy tablet and nexus7 is in my alternatives.According to you is it worth to buy still ?How is the performance and battery ?
At first you should know there are 2 Nexus 7 out there. The Nexus 7 2012 and the Nexus 7 2013.
I wouldn't recommend you to buy the old one (if you plant to) its very slow and has a really bad bettery life.
The Nexus 7 2013 is a really nice tablet, for me enough power but its getting old.
So I would look for another tablet out there.

Yeah I am planning to buy 2012 nexus 7.Thanks for advice
Maybe the 2013 edition, not the 2012...

I wouldn't buy it again today, but probably go for a compact Sony tablet... Since it's more than three years old now, the update situation gets more and more problematic, and the hardware (in particular the memory) is really bad.

Samsung Galaxy S6 to a 6P worth doing?

For the past week I've been considering trading in my S6 & getting a 6P, I've always been a fan of Nexus phone's in the past I've had the Nexus 4, 5 & 6 before getting a S6.
So do you think it worth trading in the S6 for a 6P?

I just upgraded to the 6P from my nexus 6 2 days ago. I was waiting for the 2016 Nexus, but with the rumors of the next nexus being manufactured by HTC I thought I'd rather go with the Huawei seeing as HTC seems to be flopping. Personally I'd definitely go for the 6P over the S6, I had a note 4 which I guess is a similar experience and the 6P so far is the best phone I've ever laid my hands on. It's a great experience overall. I'd never go back with Samsung, waiting over a year for OTA's is just ridiculous.

I have around £450 spare to spend on a new phone, obliviously selling or trading in the S6 will give me abit more spare cash to play about with.
The S6 is a decent phone but my biggest bugbear with this phone is signal it's really poor, in all but the strongest of signal areas.
Where I live it's struggles to pick up any decent signal at all, where as my past Nexus 6 would usually connect to 4G no problem.
