[ROM][KK 4.4][Unofficial] PACROM - Atrix 4G General

Since I don't have enough posts for the development section I'm posting it here.
Official site: http://pac-rom.com
PAC-man ROM is a ROM built with our own tweaks and options, including picks and features from the best ROMs out there!
I used the method that sendust7 posted here to port the rom to this phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55224426&postcount=204
The files where taken from the Samsung Captivate Glide port. The official thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2706699
Modified files:
*Framework-res.apk to make the phone recognize the internal storage correctly and modify the reboot options.
*Settings.apk to enable the wake on volume option.
This is not the full rom, it only contains what I think are the core files for it to work. You must flash it on top of CM11. Formatting /data is recommended.

Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!UQRTWBrA!DYM7PFhHJU4piCNsNcMnDRFd5GNdKZ9S2MteQSlxSf0

Is it stable? What are the bugs? I'm testing with cm 11 big parte and it's awesome... Please upload screenshots.

It should have the same bugs as CM11 since it is using it as a base. You should use Z's CM11 V3.
There are other bugs in the rom that I have found:
Settings->PAC Settings->Init.d crashes
Screen recorder crashes
Some custom settings do not work.
*I have not tested them all but, Settings->Status bar->Show network speeds do not seem to work and
Settings->Display->Double-tap to sleep only works when double-tapping the status bar but not on the lock screen slider
Do not report these bugs in the CM11 thread since they are PAC-related.

Well i don't have bugs only with the proximity sensor, maybe with the radio but i've found that solution, if you don't have signal just apply wipe dalvik cache.... I have cm 11 big part

Installing over CM 11 ( Android 4.4.4 ) for Atrix (BigPart) failed.
Just tried installing over CM 11 ( Android 4.4.4 ) for Atrix (BigPart)].
It failed after first boot:
Unfortunately Setup wizard has stopped working.
After that screen everything stayed black, except the battery and signal indicator icons.
Not sure what I did wrong, if anything.

Could you explain the procedure you used to install over CM 11 Big Part?

Well, it seems I forgot Kuroneko91's email and password so I created another account. I updated the files to the Nov 08 (RC 3) version and also edited the auto brightness values in framework-res.apk to match Atrix's values instead of Glide's. Thanks to PolesApart's kernel updates, pac now shows the network traffic (Settings->PAC settings->Status bar->Show network speeds).

As for the installation steps, install CM11 and then install pac on top. If you already have CM11, format data and then install pac. For this zip you must be on the latest Z's CM11 V3m (cm-11-20141118-UNOFFICIAL-olympus).
Just a reminder, do not report the bugs that you find in pac on the CM11 thread.
*I uploaded a zip that will flash a new framework-res.apk
It fixes the soft reboot and reboot to recovery options that I messed up :<

got rom check sum error?

Yes, my bad >.< It should be fine now.
*This is a small update on framework-res.apk again. It should help with ram.
I changed the value of extraFreeKbytesAdjust to <integer name="config_extraFreeKbytesAdjust">16384</integer> which was suggested by PolesApart on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56847531&postcount=735

---EDIT---
Ok, untouched went well. no issues so far. Just feels naturally laggy like upon first purchase.
Testing lite.... brb.
Had to install clockwork mod recovery as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18598991&postcount=1
to try lite version...
--edit--
Hmm... Maybe if i ditch touchwhiz for another launcher it will feel better.
16gb tablet... and available storage remaining is is 12.33gb
Wifi works.
Sound works.
GPS - no satelites in view but i am indoors right now. will test later.
Youtube works.
everything is looking good.
Bugs/issues i've noticed so far:
Lock screen shows"%1$d attempts left" at bottom center of landscape screen.
Very important to wipe data / factory reset and format /system. My first attempt at running lite was botched.
ah~ crap now i gotta update my signature.....mumble mumble...
disregard

Is this the first time you've installed stock ICS on this tab
I mean (Lock screen shows"%1$d attempts left") was in all of the previous official versions
and some lagging and lower sdcard volume is normal thing in all stock ICS for p7300 !!!

I have been using safariking's V8 rom for a long time now
and now it seems I am gonna stick to this one cuz it is better
and newer and lighter
I am impressed by the speed of flashing this rom and booting and the smoothness while using it
thank you for bringing life again for this tab :good:
I have already Cwm 6.0.2.7. Can I flash with it? Is necessary to format system? I installed few ROMs on my Nexus 4 without Formating system. I also have 4.0.4 by Samsung on my tab.

About CWM you can flash the ROM without it as I described in the first post (Remove Extra Features section),
although flashing it over the existed one won't change anything (I do it all the time)
and formatting the system is highly recommended but it is not compulsory, so you can do it without any problems

Hmmmm, this is really weird
It is working on my tab and two people said that it is working on their tabs too
Maybe you didn't do a factory reset before flashing so the previous ROM is affecting this one
Whether this is the case or not, try to format data and system and flash the ROM again

Thanks for the reply.
It's OK now.
I was with TWRP on the previous ROM, and had to change to CWM 5.5.0.4 Only then the formatting worked and the installation was clean.
Now everything works perfect, but why did you removed Google Search?
I cannot find it in the Play Store for Android 4.0.4

I removed the Google Search cuz it is rare to use (like a lot of users said) and
because it is easy to restore if you want it back
just install the app from attachment, like any other apps and you'll get google search
Thank you

I'm surprised that there is Xposed module for our tablet.
Do you know any other modules that we can use?

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for
Xposed is not a module, it is a framework which a lot of modules need to work
like Greenify, Wanam, Xblast and lots of other modules you can find them all in
the Xposed Installer App in the download section
you can read the module description and download it if you need it
some of modules has some specifications and number of devices that won't work on
(after downloading the module you might need to enter the Modules section in the Xposed Installer app and activate them)
But if your question is about other framework than the Xposed
then the answer is I don't know

I know that Xposed is a framework, and how it works. I didn't know that there is module like Greenify which works on our tablet.
My question was, do you know of any other modules that work well and we can use on our tablets. I already installed Xposed and I'm using Greenify with it.
On my Galaxy S4 I use Wanam and XHalo Floating Windows, but I don't think that they work with Galaxy Tab 8.9

Let me put it this way: do all modules in the Xposed download section work with our Galaxy Tab?

Oh pardon me for misunderstanding your question
Like I said every module has it's specifications, for example Wanam doesn't work on other than Touchwiz devices
so you should regard that and try your self whether it'll work on our 8.9 tab or not
I'm sorry but I can't help you more
cuz I don't use other than greenify on my tab

[ROM][4.4.4][P7300/P7310][PORT] Nameless (19-07-2014) & Omni (26-07-2014) LAST UPDATE
DEVELOPMENT DISCONTINUED, WHY??
Hello Guys,
I'm presenting you a thread for ported KK [4.4.4] ROMs from (P7500/P7510), these ports aren't quite unstable yet
These ROMs are still in the BETA phase [even for p4], so they aren't ready yet for daily use,
but I though that might keep our 2011 tablet alive for a little longer ,
although I should mention that Nameless ROM is way better than Omni.
Many users were porting these ROMs by themselves, but for example porting the new (3/10) release of Namless ROM [using the normal way]
is crashing repeatedly with com.android.phone and will make your tablet useless, I managed to solve this [thanks to kasper_h], also I fixed offline battery charging glitches:fingers-crossed:
:::.NamelessROM Section.::: (Omni in the second post)
What is working! :
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
GPS is incredibly fast
Camera (rear and front)
3G & Calling & SMS [P7300]
Sound and Recording
USB Connection
Sdcard
Apps
Torch
KeyBoard
Screenshots
Reboot into recovery
ART function is kinda working
Everything else seems to be fine
Known Issues :
You might have system UI FC once every boot [same for p4 users] SOLVED
Location toggle in quick settings panel isn't working SOLVED
Tablet's microphone in voice calls does not work
Lockscreen rotation does not observe the rotation lock flag
Maps direction is 180 degrees off
I'll enlist every bug that users report here
A work around for the rotation bug (thanks to nqk)
Install Xposed framework and App Setting module

Personally I prefer [and have tested] the minimal Gapps package, it is the best
Will try it out ASAP. OMNI pave the way but Nameless is by far much faster.
So far this is what I got. Installed right over the previous version of Nameless without wipe. Have to reinstalled the Xposed (expected).
Works:
- 3G
- Wifi
- Wifi Location
- GPS
- Camera (front and back)
Not Working:
- Voice Calls (partially, headphone is OK, tablet microphone does not)
Not tried:
- Bluetooth
- ART (using Xposed so can't do it)
Issues: (Asides from the issues reported from the Nameless P4 thread)
- SystemUI crashes once at after each reboot when using Xposed framework but managed to come back right away and things seems to work OK.
- Lockscreen rotation does not observe the rotation lock flag
- Maps direction is 180 degrees off.
I have a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and I use it mostly for playing music right now, so if I can help with the development let me know
which one is better??

Nameless ROM is more stable, although you might have system UI force close once every boot
[it is also happening in the latest build on p4 thread, not a problem with my port]
Omni ROM has tons of features and currently there is no force close in it
so the choice is yours, another thing to mention though, users like Nameless more than Omni [all of them will advise you to use Namless]

hey!
downloading....
---------
does it support multi windows?
does it support xposed mods?
I did a quick test by doing dirty upgrade over the last omni build. Was very slow after bootup for about 5 minutes but after that has been excellent. It is noticeably better than omni in terms of speed and smoothness. Still running dalvik mode as I have xposed installed, but going to remove it and try changing to art mode.
I have had the FC mentioned in the OP but recovers and can get back into settings ok.
Only really minor issue so far is on the lock screen, when there are notifications underneath the unlock button, I cant press the button. Its the notification that gets selected.
Great work with this rom. This may stop me going back to your modified stock ICS build.

Hmmm, you should send any file manager to your tab through Bluetooth, then install it
I mean I didn't remove anything when I ported the ROM so it is default in Nameless ROM that it doesn't have file manager
and it's kinda hard to reupload the ROM again, maybe in the next build.
So if bluetooth way doesn't work for some reason, I can make you a flashable zip to install a file manager

yeah , you are right.
i have omni now!
why :
1.nameless was better than omni in some sections , and had very well charge.
2.name less was smooth and gread in every section!
3.nameless browser had broken for me!
4.nameless had some other greade extra than omni.
1.omni is smoother than namelees for me.
2.omni dont have any bug!
3.omni support more thing and have some good ...
4.omni is more better for me!
5.i dont know why , but i have joy with it.
6.i think its the best rom that i have seen ever.
but it is my idea!
you may flash other rom?
and thanks for port these roms.

Same here, I use the minimal Gapps of @BaNkS.
Some observations using this ROM:
1. HD videos stutter (youtube & mx player) same as on the P4
2. screen flickers on some games like PVZ2, etc. even candy crush
3. wifi & 3g, gets broken sometimes (keeps on searching, disconnect, then afterwhile connect)
4. auto-brightness seems off or rather delayed. not as responsive as stock
5. skype video call not working (no video at all). maybe an issue with skype?
Overall, this is still better than omni. Next time will test OC, ART and scripts.
hi.
why i cant use wifi direct?
This ROM is quite good. Great options, nice look. It seems to have a similar lag to other good ROMs for this tablet.
I've noticed that the tab is not entering deep sleep. There are two wakelocks that are on too much: tx_hsic and wlan_rx_wake.
Thanks again!

You're getting tx_hsic wakelocks? HSIC wakelocks are related only to 3g models, so maybe kernel used was for P7500 since you can use P7500 kernel for P7510. As for wlan_rx_wake, try to turnoff wifi or set tab to flight mode.
New version up on the P7500 thread. Hopefully, we will soon see the P7300/7310 port

This is one of the best CM12 ROMs and my favorite too. Thank you @audahadi Sir for this excellent work.
Thanks man
but this build doesn't works with clean flash right one has to flash 18 build to get it working ??
or can we go for the clean flash ??
This rom is great Love it
Hat's off to all the devs who put their time and effort in building this great ROM that to w/o any kernel source.
Occasional reboots and the slow charging (for some people including me ) are the two major issues. The former one is of generic kind but the latter I think can be fixed on upcoming builds.
Below findings are from 19-01 Temsek build.
Slow charging issue can temporarily be fixed by first connecting the charger and then rebooting. After the reboot, it will charge normally (1000mA-1.100mA input current), but if charger is disconnected for some reason. Then on re-connecting the charger, it will charge like USB(250mA - 350mA).
Hi OP
Can u post the title thread with your device model?
Thanks
WOW!
Thanks all open source community to helping forgotten customers of this great ROM but released from wrong company.
Thanks and hats off to all
I hope things will get better if (ever) Xiaomi release kernel code.
I want try this but can anyone make "review". Is still mm-qcamera persist?
I tried 0117 build and it was so bad (sorry). I couldn't use my phone. I really want try smooth Lollipop build and use it on daily basis...
P.s. you maybe want sign petition :good:
Regards and once again - thank you guys!
Thank you, according to your tutorial does not know what is the problem stuck in the boot animation, but in the previous rom direct coverage can be done startup the update now has Use the up very smooth, thank you again.
clean flashed cm-12-20150123-UNOFFICIAL-temasek-cancro and I am stuck at bootanimation for something like 30 minutes... how can I fix?
thanks in advance!
EDIT: problem fixed. I manually replaced boot.img from the 23/Jan build zip with the one contained in blisspop, then reflashed. now it booted up properly
will test the rom thanks for that.

Well I think you miss the party here ?
Flash audahadi's cm12 20150118 build first, let it boot (if you can't wait just wait till the screen dim since long boot time may happen) and boot to recovery ( by either normal reboot from power menu or force-reboot by holding volume up and power) and dirty flash temasek latest build.
Edit: late reply ?. Maybe will be useful for those who just download-and-flash like me ?

EDIT: I don't seem to find the option for switching tracks with volume buttons with screen locked (one of th emost important features for me), is it not included in temasek maybe? thanks! (a part from this, I like this rom, it has many features, much better than CM!! :good: )
Wow a great rom for MI3W. No random reboots yet and no camera daemon bug. deep sleep is working flawless. Totally superb.

could you please create the updated zip file and and please upload it to gdrive. it will be very beneficial for everyone so that we don't have to download two different CM roms and then manually replace the file. which never worked for me.

no need to download two roms, as said above, just download the latest temasek build (from 23/Jan) and the boot.img contained in the blisspop rom (there is a direct link for it in the other lollipop threads). then put this file in the temasek zip, overwriting the one you have inside, and flash. boot will be very fast
look here for even more info on how i did that, if you need!
edit: here is link for blisspop's boot.img thanks to a guy in another thread

I have to point out that for many users this ROM did not boot at all, showing an error screen in Chinese instead.
I was able to fix this and boot successfully only after flashing Pop Kernel along with the ROM.
I can confirm that video recording only works in Footej, and that NFC and secure lock methods don't work (don't even try, I had to factory reset after attempting)
Bugs aside, the ROM is awesome. It's pretty smooth and battery life is nothing to complain about.
If you want the pixel look, try substratum
Yeah the Chinese writing on boot was a little concerning but, it either goes away on its own or you can go to languages and plug in English then take out the other languages. So far its working great for me and is the only 8.1 rom so far that doesnt go from 80 degrees to 1111 in ten minutes with the screen on LOL.

He was talking about Chinese error for the people who won't format with EXT4 first, but in start you are right Chinese language is changeable, this ROM is still at TOP in battery time, smoothness and speed, I tested LOS 15.1 but the Battery time is same like 7.1 and not pretty fast and smooth... No offence just sharing what i tested my Own.
I agree brother I am sticking with this rom for now. Battery life is better and with Pop Kernel it is smooth and fast.

Hey brother forgot to ask,,,I asked on the other 8.1 thread but is the pin/pattern function working? I noticed some were having problems with it on 8.1 for Moto X?
Edit: got it working
PIN work but when you activate it freeze phone and restart after 3 to 5 min , but pattern won't work at all... Still in new build, this is known google 8.1 bug so it will take time..
Is there a new build for this?

Look here:

"Can't find any incremental update packages, might be in the progress of compiling or deleted" in the download section of 16/01/2018 build.
EDIT: Had to wait for download link. My fault.

[ROM] dotOS v1.2 for SM-J210F [Android 7.1.2]

Hello everyone!
This is a dotOS port from the Galaxy J3 2016 (made by @lucas000br) to the J2 2016.
Working:
My (basic) testings all seemed to work quite well
Added features and patched bugs:
Patched lock button in boot.img
Pre-rooted the ROM
Added FM-Radio from ViperOS (microG variant only)
Optimized features
Signature spoofing patched on microG variant
[See post #2 for further information]
Known problems:
Gapps variant is laggy (nothing I can do - Google sucks)
Your J2 shows up as a J3 (it's a port that's why)
Download links and installation instructions can be found in post #2
Credits:
Nanolx for Signature Spoofing
PixelBoot for base
lucas000br for modified base
Me for everything else
Obligatory Links:
Kernel Source: Github
Original Build (Abandoned by PixelBoot): XDA Developers (No source code)
Port of Port (by lucas000br): Thread seems to have disappeared?
Variant information (Which one is which?)
GAPPS: This one has most of the stock Google apps (Drive, YouTube, etc) + GSF present. Recommend for most users. RAM usage 640mb on idle
microG: All Google apps have been replaced with FOSS software. Google Services Framework has been replaced with microG. Signature spoofing is also present. RAM usage 560mb on idle
DIY: Want to build your own ROM? This one's for you! Everything except the bare minimum has been stripped out, so that you can decide what to pick for your ROM. (For power users only).
Stock dotOS: The stock dotOS compiled by PixelBoot for J3 2016; with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Signature spoofing and Power Button patched. Most stable out of all. You will need to flash additional GAPPS to get Google Services. RAM Usage 500mb.
Download Links:Stock dotOS (Recommended): MEGA
GAPPS: Oreo-Themed dotOS
microG: Oreo-Themed dotOS
DIY: Oreo-Themed dotOS
Installation Instructions:[If you don't have TWRP, get an image and install it from here]
GAPPS:
Boot to TWRP
[Do make sure to backup your data]
Wipe Dalvik, Data, System, Cache
Flash the ROM
Reboot. Done!
microG:
Boot to TWRP
[Do make sure to backup your data]
Wipe Dalvik, Data, System, Cache
Flash the ROM
After rebooting, open microG settings.
Go to self-check and tick the check boxes that are unticked (that will initialize microG)
Go back, and enable Device Registration, Cloud Messaging and Device Attestation
Then go to Location backends, and configure the DejaVu and Nominatim backends.
Done!
DIY and Stock dotOS will be the same as GAPPS variant
Changelog:
v1.2: Initial release06/05/2021: After lucas' comment, I realized that this wasn't the stock dotOS. So I have ported the stock dotOS created by PixelBoot. Try it out!

well done!
Also, PixelBoot did the DotOs base rom, i just modified it to be more like Android Oreo
(dont worry because i credited PixelBoot in the original j3 thread)

@Uniqueshiva thank you for the information. I had made a typo in the updater script that caused the boot image to fail.
Please download the new ROM and flash it. I've confirmed it to work

hmm it could be flashing gapps causes problem with the rom...
yes try the gapps version i provided
the diy one is mainly for rom porters. it has many features removed so that rom porters can think about what features to add in the rom
only basic feature available in rom is phone and messaging support
I can't access internal storage after flashing. Stock file manager crashes if i open it. Stock browser says "no sd card, usb storage is required to download the file". There's no internal storage even after connecting the phone to pc. It only shows memory card.
Edit: Just wiped the internal storage and re-flashed it. Works fine now
Thanks for porting this amazing rom

I know, viperOS was much more stable because I took 1 entire year to port and test the rom (i started testing January 2020 )
however, dotOS was ported in only 1 month
so it is not as polished
but im glad you liked it

Note: You might've noticed how I didn't put [PORT] in the thread title. It is mainly because this ROM varies from J3's dotOS so much, I don't think it is fair to call this one a port.

Hey.
I am using this ROM since 6th May (stock variant) and it is very great but has lots of bugs.
1. Bluetooth Audio stutters really bad (problem in every Android N rom for this phone)
2. Google Meet doesn't work (just shows the logo and then crashes) I am using Open GAPPS
3. Many system app crash randomly (sometimes even the launcher and system ui) requiring me to take out the battery and restarting the phone.
4. Camera quality is significantly bad compared to stock 6.0
But still a great project.
Thank you for keeping this phone updated.
