Nexus 6 Coming with Lollipop 5.0 - Nexus 6 General

Since Android Lollipop is coming on the Nexus 6, will the dialer be similar or the same as the dialer on the Nexus 5?

[Q] Nexus 4 at google site

hi i have ATT iphone4s and getting bored with it, thinking of getting the nexus 4, will google ship me the nexus 4 with 4.2.2 or 4.2.1?
i hope its 4.2.1, easier to do the LTE tweak, otherwise i will have to rooted it and install the 4.2.1 radio am i right?
Who knows what version you'll get. No one knows what version they'll get until they turn on the phone. it's the luck of the draw.
Not only will you need to downgrade to 4.2.1 you will need the old baseband to get it to work. You need the .33 baseband installed.

Also you'll need to be in one of the AT&T Markets that support LTE Band 4
Google Nexus 4
My bet is that you would receive one with 4.2.2.

[Q] Android 4.3 Windows 8.1

I can't seem to get 4.3 on my Nexus 4. I was reading that it won't work on Windows 8.1. Is this true?
Yes. The new windows has issues with android. This is the reason alot of people are not updating to the OS

My nexus 4 works fine with Windows 8.1 (Blue) but my nexus 7 doesn't work most of the time. Meaning it's not recognized past the USB insert sound.

[Q] Will Google keep Nexus 7 (2012) updated?

With the recent release of this year's new Nexus 7, Will Google keep last year's Nexus 7 updated so it will not become obsolete any time soon?
Yes.
I would say "Probably yes".
But since we are not Google it's just guessing.
Going by past trends, a nexus device receives official software updates for about 2 years..
Beamed from my Grouper
Based on the fact I just got another 4.3 OTA notification about two hours ago, I would say yes.
Build: JWr66Y (not sure if that's even changed)

Should be even longer. The nexus s and the Xoom got dropped because of the small system partition size. The nexus 7 and galaxy nexus don't have this issue.

My Xoom stayed updated for the longest time, 4.1.2 was the last official release I got on it before I switched to the N7.
I believe that this device should see a fairly prolonged life.

Nexus 5 OS on the Verizon G2

Basically, I'm wondering if we are going to be able to take the stock ROM on the Nexus 5, and bring it straight to the Verizon G2? Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, all we really need is a pure AOSP ROM right? But will that allow us to still have all the features specific to the G2?

Does anyone else not have the official 4.4 update?

Since the release of 4.4 for the Nexus 7 I've been constantly hitting the update button on my beloved tablet and I have yet to see the coveted update. Is there anyone else that shares this same fate? Am I being impatient?
I know I could root and I've thought about it, actually but I really wanted to see how long I could refrain from crack-flashing every single thing I own. But I might not have a choice since I just read that the Moto X for Verizon is now getting the update.
The fact that any device from Verizon is getting an update before a Nexus is making me nervous that maybe something is amiss with my tablet...
Nothing for me yet.. just updated my MotoX an hour ago though. A Nexus 7 update today would be like having the most awesome Christmas ever...

I know right. Especially for me since I just got my Nexus 5 in the mail last Friday. I've been itching to see it on my tablet. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one or there suffering.

.. but no update here for my Nexus 7 Wifi...
No update for me as well (both N7 adn N4)
No update - UK WIFI Nexus 7 16GB
No update for my n7/13 or n4 (both stock unlocked) but I had sideloaded 4.4 to my rooted n7/12 and received the ota KRT16S last night. I flashed stock recovery and had super su (1.72B) set to protect root, all went well and I didn't loose root. Flashed back to twrp with flashify.
sent from my next gen N7
No update neither here - Nexus 7 WIFI IT 16 GB
If you like to stream flash videos (or stream NBA games, etc), watch out. Kit Kat breaks it because apparently they've updated the web engine which doesn't support flash at all.
No update for me either. Nexus 7 2012 32gb

Seriously, if you really can't wait, grab the OTA off Google's servers. There's no need to complain when you can have it right now.
Is it possible to do that even if my tablet isn't rooted?
If so please can you let me know how?
Thanks in advance

Well I, the OP, have officially gotten the update. I have to say though, that it took a lot longer than I expected for a Nexus device.
