Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 $250 w/ free shipping - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 General

Just a heads up guys. I just ordered a black one, which will be my first Samsung tablet ever. The listing is for refurbished, but seeing as how 800 have been sold in 48 hrs, the scuttlebutt is that these are really just new devices that Samsung needs to get rid of to make way for the Tab S, but YMMV.

Just bought this in white. Came in today. Stock ROM runs a bit sluggish IMO. Hopefully custom ROM will make this bad boy run smooth.

I haven't received mine yet. I paid for expedited shipping, but they basically lost it. Now it's finally going to be delivered tomorrow.

Just got mine yesterday. I'm coming from the Asus Infinity.
So far I've switched to the Google launcher and everything works great. So much smoother except for a few heavy websites.

Got mine a couple days ago, put cm11 on it. No sure how long it will keep me from buying a nexus 9, but I'm liking it so far.

I guess this deal is dead, but I found a similar one here: http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-tablets
$240 for the 8.4" ones.

16gb version too. I just ordered mine, too good to pass up. cant wait to get it and get some awesome roms on it.
I *had* to get one of these, too. An amazing deal--why would someone get a Kindle Fire instead of this 7"?
They're now sold out.
Yeah. Sold out now. They went quick. I'm really glad I jumped on the deal this morning.
I had gotten to the point where if I couldn't find a good deal on a 7in tablet I was just going to wait for an ice cream sandwich tablet. Glad I came across this! :-D

I got it 2 weeks ago, came with 3.1
but I've allready rooted him and now I'm waiting for CM9 ROM or another ICS ROM.
Which one do you have? Wifi or Wifi + 3G ?
You'll love it even more with CM9/ICS ... all residual lag is gone
I just got one for Christmas too. Came with 3.1 but there was an update for 3.2 that I did. Now rooted on stock from with OC kernel.

I just bought mine yesterday. $388 Boxing Day deal
Running 3.1 atm, waiting on the 3.2 update
Hows your case? I'm still looking for one
And actually how do you determine the manufacture date of the tab based on the 5th "Letter" in the serial number?
I picked one up for myself Monday as a trade in from a Kindle Fire and I am so happy!
The price difference well worth it and since I was able to put the money from returning the Kindle Fire I was able to grab a 32gig tab, simply awesome!
mum picked one up today (i went with her obviously) for 439 at Costco, and it was bundled with the official samsung leather sleeve... wifi only here
90day no questions asked return policy and 2 year warranty... not a half bad deal in my opinion
Is yours a Rogers or wifi Tab? If its Rogers you can update Android but if wifi only then Samsung have yet to release 3.2 for some reason

Wi-Fi model.
Yeah after reading into it, realized that the Canadian Wi-Fi models didn't receive the update yet
Got my wi-fi model today, rooted and custom rom on within 15 minutes.
Got mine on the 23rd. Am loving it so far. Not sure if I am going to keep it though. I also have a Transformer Prime on order that will get here sometime the first week in February.
I want to compare them side by side but I only have 30 days to return the GTab that I picked up from Sam's Club. I may return it and then repurchase one or with the problems that I have heard about with the Prime so far, I may just keep the Tab.
What should I do? What should I do? Hell, maybe I will just keep them both or sell one later on ebay or CL.

True! I'd recommend task's for smoothness, funtionality and stability.
First thing you want to do is root this bad boy and install a custom ClockworkMod recovery, from that you can make a nandoid backup of your stock rom, then flash away. Id recommend you try tasks rom beacuse it is still close to the stock feel plus its fast, stable, and loaded with features. Enjoy!

I liked the Acer. If the tab2 hadn't been there I'd still have it. Im glad I have what I have. I kinda wish it was a 10 inch. Anyone want to trade? Heh
I had some money from christmas, birthday etc and I wanted some cool android phone/tab which is not a low-end device such as my (orange monte carlo/zte skate(armv6,800mhz,512mb ram)) so i was looking for a good device for a decent price and chosen some products for e.g htc one v,xpera p or s or u,samsung galaxy ace2, but i really like the zte's "huge" screen(4,3") and my hands/fingers are also "not so small" and i didnt wanted a 3,5" or 3,8" then i decided to go with the galaxy tab 2 (p3110) and kept my zte skate(for phone calls and messaging) next day I went to a store and bought it.

I sold my rooted NookColor on eBay for $165. Bought the GT27 from MacMall for $220 shipped on a 1 day special.
Happy with the purchase and the upgrade from the NookColor!
Went out to buy a nexus 7 and the store i went to didn't have any so i saw this ( my SGT2 7) and that was that
Almost had a punch up in the shop with the sales assistant and he was insisting i buy an anti-virus and a case for it. In the end i was rather rude to the guy and left in a bad mood , but once i got home and messed about with the tab i was feeling sweeeet !
Really hate shop assistants ( especially "tech experts")... they never know what the are talking about and just chat crap to get a sale lol.
Saw the Galaxy 2 7 at Best buy. Played with it, missed having a tablet, as I had given my Nook Color to my son. But then they announced Nexus 7
I saved in my birthday fund (gift for myself) for the Nexus 7, ignoring the Tab.
Then they revealed the lack of an SD card for Nexus, so I took another look at Tab.
Love it, no regrets
I'm now looking for 64 GB card, so YES i do need the slot!
I decided I was sick of carying about a bunch of different devices each doing different things and wanted to consolidate everything into one device. After researching tablets for about a week, I decided on on the GTab 2 and ordered it online. Because I live in China, the version I got was without many features available elsewhere (no access to Play for instance due to the Chinese government's disagreements with Google). I couldn't return it, but I didn't want to be stuck with a China-market tablet, so I looked into ways to 'fix' it which led me here. :good:
I was looking for tablet for about 4 weeks and actually decided to wait for the nexus 7 to be available in Germany. The other day I my brother and I were looking for some new PS3 games in an electronics market and I started to play with the tablets they had exhibited as I was concerned 7" are to small.
Long story short: I neither wanted a small 7" devices nor wanted to wait any longer. Quickly checked whether a CM10 nightly was available. Found it, went home to start the downloads and pick up my savings.
And here I am.

Well...I went to the darkside for a while and tried the iPad2.
I got a very good prices from my local dealer so I thought I´d give it a go.
But after playing around(or at least trying to play around) with it for a few days I feelt very limited and didn´t have the options and choices I was looking for.
So I went back to the store and swaped it for my current Tab 2 10.1, and I´m absolutely loving it...freedom and usability as it was meant to be !
I got a BlackBerry Playbook for Xmas for myself, loved the hardware but slowly grew more disapointed,so i rented some living space to a friend for a month, and bought this tab 'cause its the same hardware, just open source (good place to start learning dev'ing, is my other reason)
Saw the Galaxy 2 7.0 at Best Buy played with it and waited to buy the Student Edition, got the bundle yesterday and loving so much!!:victory:
I got mine at best buy.

NOT !!!
To make a long story short, The Tab Pro 8.4 is better than the Tab S 8.4
I made a switch to the Tab S because of the 3gb memory... well the thing lags a little compared to my previous Tab Pro.
I wanted Knox - the Tab S didn't have the container preinstalled and the Knox apk posted here in the forum does not work. And I can't find it on the Samung appstore either - yes I am not going to root this device.
Less bloatware - yes the Tab S has more bloatware and they can't be "stopped" like Evernote etc.
Better screen - as with my other Samsung Super Amoled devices, the screen looks pinkish and the bottom half is darker than the top half... This is a problem with the S4, Note 2, Note 3 which I had before (I must be the luckiest guy in the gadgetworld), and it really is annoying me especially at night when the screen is the only thing emitting light in my room which makes it very obvious.
Welcome home, tab pro !!!

If you ever hope to do anything development related (like flash a custom ROM), avoid the S like the plague and get the Pro. "Custom ROM" and "Exynos chipset" don't belong in the same sentence anymore. The Pro 8.4 has a Qualcomm SnapDragon 800 and a bunch of custom ROMs already.

As long as it's "manufacturer" refurbished, you are good. I've purchased a few tablets/phones that were manufacturer refurbished, and all have been flawless and appeared brand new. They usually come with a limited warranty also (90 days) so that makes it a bit better. 3rd party refurbs can vary greatly in condition/quality.
I just picked up a manufacturer refurb tab pro 8.4 and it arrived yesterday. Came in a white samsung box, and again, it's physically flawless (not a single mark on the screen or back), and works great. I always root/unlock my android devices, so the factory warranty only lasts so long with me, which is why I buy used/refurbs a lot.

Oh okay... I did some searching and found some deals related to this but already expired. boo hoo.
Not sure what I'm going to do if I'm going to just order another refurb or what. I originally got the GTP because it had infrared but it appears to be kinda proprietary and I'm not a fan of the application. I'll have to do some additional research to see if there are other customizable applications for total home theater control (including HTPC) to see if this model is even going to accomplish what I was hoping for. But getting it NEW for $250 would surely seal the deal for me!
For 8.4 model, Tab Pro is much better because 800 processor is better than Exynos.
For 10 model, they're draw.
AMOLED on Tab S looks better (less red tint) than 8.4, but keep in mind that Tab Pro does not have screen burn problem.
However, there's a minor feature on Tab S a lot of users overlooked: charging port. You can put the unit in landscape and charge.

The 8.4 (and other sizes) Pro seems abandoned with launch of Tab S

This reminds me of what Sammie did with the P6800 a couple of years back when they abandoned the P6800 withing a year of it's launch.
As there looks like there will never be a 32gb 8.4 Pro and there isn't currently a 32gb 8.4 S I'm sitting on the fence.
I have to say Sammies constant morass of new products without anything approaching a coherent product replacement cycle, combined with their lack of support in 'walking away' from existing relatively new products does mean I think hard before spending money on their tabs.

Its sad, considering I still see tab pros in shops etc.
are there any new features software wise that is in Tab S ?
Are you expecting Samsung to update the Pro less than a year after the product launched? It was launched in February, just 7 months ago. Most of their products refresh annually. What makes you think they've abandoned it?

what do you mean "refresh annually". do you mean we should only be getting OS and firmware updates once a year???
Hardware.
I guess people think they abandoned it because the Tab S came out so quickly (4 months?) after the Tab PRO, and many vendors (at least in Canada) stopped selling the Tab PRO and switched to the Tab S.
Also, after NG1, firmware updates for the Tab PRO seem to have really dwindled. And yet, there are still quite a few outstanding issues with this tablet that need to be resolved...
I plan on selling my 8.4 pro as soon as nexus 9 comes out. I would have gotten a nexus 10 but I am not interested in an exynos.
Overall it is a nice tab, but battery life is quite poor. And I really don't like the game leather back. Fun while it lasted but Craigslist here it comes..
I'm glad the S came out and dropped the price of the Pro. I won't spend $400 on a tablet, so I never would've got this great tablet if the S never was released.

Me too, i never should buy the pro 12.2 for +500 euro and last Sunday i got it for 329,75 euro brand new in the box, do we still here in the Netherlands have to pay a bit more than US or Canadian dollar?
I'm so happy with this huge Tab
happy here
I'm happy too.
Bought the tabpro 8.4 for only 230 euro's, I also would never spend 300/400/500 on a tablet.
Size is excellent, battery for me lasts about 3 to 4 days on normal use and 2 days on heavier usage.
I use my Phone for a lot of things and in the evening sitting on the couch I use a tablet.
Facebook, Telegram, browsing,. asphalt 8, multiwindow it works great, no hickups. I did tweak the rom.
It does it all so why complain?:good:
I've been pretty happy with my Pro 8.4. It nicely compliments my Note 3 which has a tiny 5.7 inch screen!
Yeah, I'm seeing it for $279 in the U.S. More than $100 less than the Tab S. But I agree with the worry that it may not see an Android L update for example, despite being less than a year old. Samsung is slow to update. Took about 6 months to get 4.4 on my Note 10.1, and despite it still being a current model, I wouldn't be surprised if they never do L. I'm looking for a smaller tablet to replace a 1st-gen Nexus, but I think I'll keep waiting for the Nexus 9 before I jump.
I think we'll get Android L eventually. The Tab Pro is closely modeled after the Note 3, and that device is bound to get Android L. Although news came out today that Samsung transferred 500 engineers from the mobile division to the other areas (appliances and TVs?).

I've been running CM11 since I got it, and I know there will be a CyanogenMod version of Android L so I'm not worried about it.

How do you guys like the 8.4"? In landscape mode, the buttons are where your hand would be. That seems like an issue if you wanted to play a game in landscape mode.
