Micro SD max Performance - Xperia Z3 Compact General

So amazon has a good sale right now on Micro SD cards.
Lexar 32GB Class 10 microSDHC 45MB/s for $12.99
Lexar 32GB Class 10 microSDHC 95MB/s for $24.99
I think that the 45MB/s should be sufficient for everyday use. Would the 95MB/s one have any benefit for the Z3 Compact?

The 45mb/s card is enough, you really won't see faster speeds since smartphones don't run their sdcards at maximum voltage for obvious reasons, you'll only see those speeds on pc's.

Which SD Card to buy?

I want to get myself a new SD Card for my Magician:
I will choose between a standard 1 GB SD Card and the SanDisk UltraII SD 1GB
First of all, does it really make the difference if i take the UltraII? How much faster is it anyway? It would cost me almost 50% more.
Secondly, can the Magician even handle the Ultra? Are cards up to 2GB even supported?
Or should I consider a bigger card?
Currently I've got a 256 Sandisk standard....
SD cards
In general you probably won't see the speed deference between the basic and ultra on a PDA, because of the speed of the interface.
If you use a card reader (using USB 2 interface) then you will see the speed increase.
Personally, I've just bought a Sandisk 1GB Ultra plus card:
http://www.picstop.co.uk/Secure-Digital-(SD)/SanDisk-Ultra-II-(USB)-SD-Plus-Card---1GB
Will have to wait and see how good it is!
Apparently 4GB sd cards are coming soon, which should drop the price of the 1GB cards even further.
DS
If you going with a 2gb card - go with the sandisk ultra... I purchased an A-Data 2gb 150x and it does not work.
SanDisk Ultra are good cards.

micro SDHC 16GB class 2 vs class 4 w Touch HD

Does Class 4 make a difference to HD speed? I mean opening big files, copy them from the phone to the memory card etc.
Maybe HD speed isn't fast enough to use Ultra speed?
Even a Sandisk 16gb Class 2 is faster than what the HD is capable of.
Doing a benchmark on my SanDisk 16gb Class 2 inserted into a card reader, I get 18mb/sec read speeds and 13mb/sec write speeds.
Class 2 is more than enough for the HD.
Transfer speed may really be overkill, but if I'm not mistaken, faster cards also offer faster access speed, and that's something that really can make a difference!
Sandisk, class 2 is MUCH faster than other brands with class 4. I have 2 sandisks 8gb class 4 and 1 sandisk 16gb class 2. All goes to similar speed. I have, too, a Transcend class 4 and goes to half speed than sandisk class 2.
Diferences? Basically you will fill them faster if you plug them in a PC-reader.
(sorry for my english...)

Transcend 16GB Class *6* Micro SDHC Speed Test

Hi All,
Just got myself a 16GB version of one of these:
http://www.transcend-uk.com/Products/ModDetail.asp?ModNo=195&SpNo=1&LangNo=0
to replace the stock 8GB Class 2 card that came with the phone. Unpackaged carefully to avoid dribbling on it
Have run benchmarks using both SKTools and Pocket Mechanic and ..... approx 5% SLOWER than standard card!! Have got SDTuneUp loaded, am I missing something glaringly obvious here???
SKTools summary results:
8GB Class 2 Sandisk (supplied with phone):
Buffered Write speed 910 KB/s
Read speed 7119 KB/s
16GB Class 6 Transcend:
Write speed 859 KB/s
Read speed 7021 KB/s
Could the glaringly obvious thing be *don't buy Transcend cards* ??!!! Am I benchmarking with the wrong software (figures vary greatly between the 2 apps but summary is the same - this card is slower)
Any tweaks I'm missing?
Cheers.
Bones.
Is this with the card in the phone or in a card reader?
Most likely it's the limitation of the phone. Try some desktop benchmarks with a good card reader.
You won't gain much speed from higher speeds cards on a phone.

hmm so whats the point of buying a higher class SD card?
Benchmarked in phone. I'll try in my card reader tomorrow. Got to say I'd be very disappointed if it's a hardware limit in the phone, class 2 cards are much cheaper than class 6 and HTC should have made this apparent if this is the case...
Will update when re-benchmarked, anyone got an comparison stats?
one comparison Class 6 to Class 4
At hand a Transcend 16gb Class 6 and Toshiba 2gb Class 4 SD cards measured in Thinkpad card reader:
Crystal Disk Mark mb/s
Transcend/Toshiba
Seq: 14.78/12.11 read 8.755/5.315 write
512K: 14.76/12.09 read 1.982/2.010 write
4k: 3.114/3.216 read 0.025/0.025 write
Not much there to recommend Class 6
Are you sure you have 8GB class 2 sandisk card? I got class 6 with the ppc.
My results in SKTools:
write: 642 KB/sec
read: 2963 KB/sec
That's 16GB class 2 sandisk card formatted with 32KB clusters. So i think your card is ok
Double post
Class6 does not mean that its faster its just "assure" you it can transfer up to 6mb/s. Thats prolly a device limit and not the card you should try it on a notebook or card reader outside phone. I thought the same when i bought a 16gb sdhc class6 SD for my axim - had no changes in speed at all =\

What speed is the 2GB stock MicroSD card?

What speed is the 2GB stock MicroSD card the HD2 ships with? (Just to know)
IS Class 2 fast enough? I have a 16GB class two that I'd like to use, but not at the expense of performance on the phone, or problems, etc.
Anyone?
Class II is enough for a phone. Dunno the speed of the inserted one - guess it is class II. I'm using a class II 16GB mSDHC from Toshiba since more than a year and I never faced any problems.
Here I have done two micro SD benchmark using sandisk microSD reader:
SanDisk microSDHC 2GB Classe 2
SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDHC 8GB Classe 4
The Ultra version has twice the speed of the stock one.
Yeah, that may be right and it could be faster when you copy some files to your phone or pull it down of it. But nevertheless the phone does not need more then class II, because it won't be able to exhaust it.
Even when recording video?

MicroSD Cards: Speeds?

I was told when I bought my phone that the Legend is optimized to work with up to 32GB MicroSD, but the transfer rate of data and general data speeds are at peak with certain capacity MicroSD cards. Has anyone else heard this or similar?
It just depends on what class you get, which will improve transfer rates, for example I have a class 6 8GB in mine now and it flies. btw the higher the class the better (the class is displayed with a circle around it on the card.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
That's not completely true.
The card's class isn't it's real speed, but the guaranteed one (in read AND write).
I remember having seen a test about µSD cards which shown that Sandisk are one of the best brands.
I bought a Sandisk 8GB "Ultra" micro SD for 20 bucks, and even though it's only class 2, it can go up to 20MB/s read and 7-8MB/s write (in case of large files of course).
