I tried solid Explorer and sampe issue

Backup your files to a pc and format the SDcard (from the phone menu). Solved it for me.
And make sure you properly unmount your card next time, because that's whats causing this. (I learned that the hard way.)
(This is related to but not directly the result of the KitKat permissions. ES works around those, the only thing it can't do is rename.)

I've heard a few others mention that. It's related to KitKat's security permissions. Rooting should fix it.
Interestingly, I have no such issues with ES file Explorer on any of my unrooted 4.4 devices. the only thing it doesn't do is rename. (but neither does it work on stock My Files, nor MTP and Windows Explorer.)

Yeah i heard about that too
I mean what the point to complex Kitkat that way i think they want extra money from SD card ? makers so they (Google) fully support that
In the other hand wouldn't root my note3 untill the 18 month finish
I'm waiting 4.4.4 update so i don't wanna miss that
Anyway thanks again

Google has never supported MicroSD's.
It's the other brands that have added it. But with everyone being security morons these days, this is the result. More restrictions to protect people from their own stupidity.
(That money making scheme works a little badly when the Nexus devices, Google's own phones, don't have a MicroSD slot )

I think we should wait.
Awesome. This is gd news! Thanks for the info nicknowsky.
Hey guys quick question, if you have stock 3.1 that's rooted and have clockwork mod installed, can you still directly update through the tablet or will the cwm and root cause problems?

No. You can not update through OTA when you have CWM installed.

It causes problems..
I don´t know if I´m happy with the 3.2
Take note, though: With Android 3.2, SD card support means something slightly different than what it's meant in the past. Whereas Android smartphones treat SD cards like regular drives, with full read and write access, Android 3.2 tablets view external cards in a much less PC-like manner. In short, apps can read an SD card -- but they can't write to it.
The reason: Google has switched to a new protocol for SD card handling in the 3.2 release. The thinking seems to be that with the high amount of internal space provided on Honeycomb tablets, most users will be turning to SD cards for purposes like media storage as opposed to application and app data storage. With that mentality, writing data from a tablet to an external card becomes less important, and a simplified user experience -- one that's less dependent on a user's understanding of file system structure -- becomes a higher priority.
To be clear, you can still write to a mounted SD card via your PC, using a USB connection; you just can't do it from the tablet itself. That means in an Android file manager utility like Astro, you'll be able to browse through the SD card and access its files, but if you try to copy files to the SD card or edit any SD-card-stored files, you'll find those options to be grayed out and unavailable.

I think that really sucks
I'll wait for the CWM flashable version. This is awesome. Asus does it right. Just give us quick vanila android update with minimal crapwares. That's all we want.
I'll be waiting for the updates of custom rom's as well, probably won't be long.
Let's see how many more 3.2 threads we can get!

Permission request from several application to access my google account

Hi Guys,
I'm running ICS LPY on my phone, everything smooth but I got this strange request that I didn't have on my galaxy S2 running ICS< just now on my galaxy note that I've noticed it.

Why don't you use LBE Privacy Guard? With it you can determine for every single app what it's allowed to do. It's free and downloadable.on Google Play.

Lbe has security hole when booting up. Plus doesnt work always. Had instances where something blocked got throught. Pdroid is better but you need to build deodexed rom and build own patch.
What did you install that triggered that permission request?

from the official topic with the LPY room
From the pics I can see that these are all Samsung and Google apps ,most of them should have access without even asking you ,so I guess it's either a bug or maybe a virus?
Anyway I think you can safely give these apps permission seeing they are all system apps.

as I said ,all of them are system apps ,it's just weird that they should ask for permission .
usually if a system appis asking for permission then it has been modified in some way, like modified google maps .
are you sure it is fully stock? if yes then it could be just a bug maybe?
you could probably solve this by wiping ,but since you are on LPY this has the potential of being lethal to your phone.
my advice is allow them access ,I doubt any harm will come of it.
Yeah those seem to be system app but why on earth LCD test and other apps would want to access your google account?
I suggest flash safe kernel wipe data then re-flash ICS.
Or downgrade to GB wipe data then upgrade to ICS.

Probably a sammobile.com firmware .
jje
This is not for i9300 but for i9308 which is a chinese variant as far as i know from googling, also found that i9308's stock roms are bloated to death with chinese apps and such. Simply just dont flash this as its for the china variant and bloated to hell.
I've come across a China Mobile I9308, and I have the Asian/Chinese firmware on it and firstly, removing the bloatware takes 3minutes (quick root flash via Odin, install Root Uninstaller App and remove all stock/bloatware apps). Secondly, to install Google Play Store (which took me hours to figure out), you need to install a "gapps(something or other. I can't recall).zip. Only problem I've run into is getting 4G to run after flashing it to AT&T. And last but not least, I think this is definitely not the Chinese Firmware. The Chinese firmware can be found in samsung's website and the file has a different name.

Latest ROM
I have a i9308 and any of the newer release of the "official firmware' messed up my start up and made it loop...
I installed this using Heimdall skipped the bootloader as it seems to fail in both odin and Heimdall on hardware build 6.00
I found the newest official rom bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6344702 ... sorry not enough posts to send out side links ... i under stand.
everything else worked fine.... after this and i was able to back and do the usual install of CWM ..... which failed using Heimdall ... again on the bootloader .... so using Odin it worked ... i used virtual box and Windows 7 ... with the latest Samsung drivers ....i had to create a specific interface for the Samsung in virtual box so the i9308 would mount with out conflict in windows .... i was then able to install CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4 ...
Once rooted i started looking for a way to install google play and all the google services.
i installed this ROM anzhi_karben_samsung_i9308_V1.0 which had the google drivers i needed and was not full of to much other crap and worked well in english ... i found this here bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6198323 i used my Wiebo account to do this and was then able to download.
I got the google pack ..... well one that worked and after i checked everything did not have any malicious scripts that i could find ... bbs dot anzhi dot com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=5401203 ... the zip file was gapps-ics-20120429-signed-4.0.4
i hope this helps some people Heimdall took a little after i figured out how to do this.... it was easy ... i have wiped it out a few times i nthe last week and tried different ROMs from the various Chinese boards ...some made very odd requests for SU access here and there ...i generally removed them after trying to find the offending script .... as i said so far the ones i am using have been pretty safe with little to no issues. I did go in and remove a lot of the preloaded China Mobile wares ...so far the phone is great ... i do fid the wifi signal sucks....
My first android i rooted myself ...see what happens after a drunk night in a taxi in Beijing and you lose your iPhone.... having fun.

[Q] wifi and bluetooth are not working sprint s4 L720

Hello, I have sprint samsung galaxy s4 and I unlocked it, for unlocking I downgraded my baseband from NG2 TO MDC, after unlocking everything was fine for 2 weeks but when I restarted the mobile I lost my wifi and bluetooth. When I try to on the wifi The icon of wifi and bluetooth appear as light green and then no reresponce.please help my mobile details are as follows:
SOFTWARE VERSION: L720VPUAMDC
HARDWARE VERSION: L720.08
Model: SPH L720
Android version:4.4.2
Baseband VERSION: L720VPUAMDC
Build No: L720VPUFNG2.
howdy
my s4 wifi never worked from day one.
scoured Internet until I found solution below :
Internal SD Memory the Path /data/misc/wifi/
the File named wpa_supplicant.conf is having issue.
Not going to guess what what was done on
your side only that wifi cannot read that file so
it just shuts off.
you need root to view this file, I suggest
renaming it, reboot then enable wifi again and it
will create a new one.
you will lose all saved passwords from the
beginning of time but will be able to use wifi
again.
not sure about the bluetooth issue.
hope this helps.

Usually it would be because your baseband doesn't match your build. Odin the latest stock from www.sammobile.com and you should be fine.

Does this affect/patch the root method we have for the Sprint Note 7?
Even if you update, you should be able to Odin back to the root file...as you can odin back to the original official tar. The update only adds wifi calling and some smaller fixes.
I have the update, have not installed it. I am not rooted, so don't know how to pull it off for others. But will be glad to if someone tells me how on my unrooted phone, if possible.

Oops, just read more carefully, you don't know where it is. I have pulled them before, but don't remember where. It's not the obvious places like "Download". I think it was in a cache folder. Use a root explorer and look around in the system folder.

I'm pretty sure it is downloaded to the system folder somewhere (cache maybe?). Without root, you'll never get to it.
I figured as much but it seemed like people were interested having non rooted people look.
It's odd cause this is the first non rooted phone I've ever had. I'm holding out to see if we get the boot loader unlocked and custom roms. If not I'm going to skip root this time around.

I'm in the same boat. I need my Gear S to work and it doesn't with the rooted rom we have now.
I'm surprisingly happy with it unrooted. I did buy Adguard, because I can't stand ads. Other than that, all good. If my plan didn't include HotSpot, it might be a different story.
