Cannot Capture Screenshot, storage may be in use - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
So i have been encountering this issue with which i can't seem to capture any screenshot.
It gives error "Cannot Capture screenshot. Storage may be in use".
Googling tells me i have to relock bootloader and unlock it again. Is that only way?
-Switch from L Preview (Rom i am currently using) to stock
-I unroot my phone
-Reroot it again
-Again install rom.
So those are only steps and workaround for this issue?
Weird thing is this issue happens on all roms except miui for some reason lol, but i like functioning of android L rom more so i want to stick to that.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure this is something you already did, but try using a 3rd party app (like "Screenshot Ultimate", amazing functionality ) if the built - in screenshot feature isn't working. It could be possible that the issue with screenshotting is just a bug or glitch with your current ROM.

Actually, i am quite aware of things i do and i am quite experienced with rom flashing and stuff (infact baked a few of my own), so its not likely something i did amd plus all i do with my N4 is wipe system+flash rom+xposed+some mods+kernel (though no xposed on L), no filesystem modding stuff, so I have no idea how this probcame into existence. Never happened on my S3 even though I am much more rough with it...
Yeah did try 3rd party apps, same result. And yeag, its happening on every other rom except miui. O_O
So my guess is its some internal bug or something:/

Wait, so what ROM are you using?

I am currently using Android L Preview.
The problem comes on this ROM and all others I tested earlier except miui.

Do 3rd party apps not work on previous ROMs as well? Or is it just a problem you're encountering with Android L Preview?

Android L has not been officially released, so there is a few bugs with this

1) 3rd Party Apps dont work with other roms too.
2) Its not just android L, its happening on every rom except miui :/
If it was just on Android L then i would have posted in ROM's thread, but its happenjg on every rom.

Well, at this point, why not stick with miui?

Sorry for the dumb question.
But I want to ask you , because it's the only thread in X5 section.
Why the hell the CM 11 is so unstable in performance edition tha the rom ,,CyanogenMod 10 {Unofficial} v3.0'' . I am searching for the fastest rom for daily use ( my phone is in waranttly now ) . It's not possible to use spotify on our phone , or run facebook application without any kind of lag...
I thing the CM11 is more stable , but I think the reason for this is the only one , our phone is to weak for the updates now . Right?

Android 4.4 is optimized to work on low end devices but facebook and other applications are not. You will observe that android itself runs pretty smooth on our device, its just some apps which kill it.
IMO this is decent performance delivered by a phone 3 year old. You have to understand the limitations of 1GHZ single core processor and 512MB rom.

Nice ROM ,runs smooth with banks minimal gapps ,incidentally I feel crysisltu's build has less noise in-call.

Problem with gapps
I tried both the standard as well as "small" gapps for CM 11 here.
All I got was hangouts, gmail, news & weather but no playstore or play services.
Can someone please provide links to working gapps?
Also, why don't the official gapps work?
P.S. - The rom is working brilliantly. Seems a bit on the battery-hungry side than CrysisLTU's rom, but is very stable. Nice call quality, bluetooth, wifi, storage, camera also work fine.

Hello new build is up: see op download link to basketbuild or normal way: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347817647

Here comes the feedback:
- Autorotation doesnt work. Maybe kernel related.
- Some lag and instability but this could very (most definitely) well be the bidji kernel. (Havent tested on stock kernel)
- Everything else works fine.
- Betterylife is fine, nothing crazy.
- Botton backlight works
Will test tomorrow with stock kernel a few minutes to confirm sone issues maybe. But I like the battery life of bidji kernel too much to not use it.
What does this rom do different compared to other cm like roms? I couldnt really find any major pros or cons. Just very cm like but not from cm I guess. I really hate that they have edited the default launcher with their own ugly app drawer icon and removed the launcher options. Luckily we have an appstore with other launchers. I will change rom to DU again probably because of the auto rotate (but button backlight doesnt work there if i recall correctly).
Still really loving all your builds to test compare and tinker with. And the new bidji kernel makes the tinkering and fiddling even more interesting . Hope this feedback helps.

Ik dank je voor uw feedback!
Autorotation: well still a mistery only DU is working, kernel is the same, so frameworks must be the culprit.
For the rest, I just jump into this project cause I found it interesting and different from others but i'm slowly think I was wrong.
Anyway, yes it not cm but device trees are so, bugs will remain mainly the same .
To be honest, not sure I'll keep on long time with this one except if users are happy
At least om my AFH I have some 30 downloads, in their basketbuild, 0...
Een prettige end of weekend!

(I lolled a bit because of you typing Dutch )
Tested again on stock kernel, same issues as before with auto rotate. Something to add why this is different compared to other roms: it is not so much in options but everything that is there is done well. Like all icons and stuff are all good and done and there are no wierd looking menus. So it is a very slick experience IMHO (except the boot logo ugh).
Cheers
Hello Guys,
With Metallium team members, we decided to make those builds "unofficials". This won't change anything for you, builds with remain the same with same quality and improve progressively.
This is a good team and i'm proud to build for them, last post from my dutch mate proves it.
Reasons why this change: i prefer to keep my liberty, to build myself, to post my builds where i used to post it, and so on. Furthermore, i'm official member of crDroid team and it takes me lot of time, and i want to keep the same quality for them too.
So expect new Metallium build at least weekly.
I wish you a nice evening.
Cheers,

The TWRP works fine and can unify the storage. The CM build posted on the oppo forums seems to work no worse than any other CM-derived rom. An LVM aware build of Dirty Unicorns would be awesome. I'm happy to test things because my Find 5 isn't my primary device anymore so I don't rely on it.

I am already running a CM version having LVM and its good apart from Auto rotate which seems to be a bug in CM12.
But another ROM with proper support would be awesome and feel free to get back to me to test the same
P.S: enabling selinux enforce by default seems to be a but flaky

Unfortunately, CM12 has the autorotate issue in all my builds except DU. So what i propose is, first make a test on metallium to see if LVM works then try to adapt to DU, new DU version should come within one day or two.
Thanks for your support.

Sorry guys. My repo is messed up now. I need to fix certain errors in kernel and cm13 frameworks before anything is delivered. Working on it...

Ditto, and not sure if wuxianlin is going to release newer builds. Even with the existing bugs, I like CM13:
The big 3 problems with Oppo Find 5 CM13 builds are WiFi hotspot not working, bluetooth audio not working, video recording not working. If this is going to be an active ROM that will be maintained and I can help testing, I'll install it.

Nope. All these things will work but right now I am stuck with simcard not being detected. Am trying to debug that. And get the camera profiles up and running.
Dear All,
I am changing companies and also moving computer builds these days. So I will not be able to work on this anymore. But hopefully, I will come back with an Oreo build for our beloved Find5. I will close all the other development threads that I have since no further development will take place on the older versions.

This rom is my daily driver for about an week.

Good Custom rom for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5100

I'm sure this has been asked multiple times but I still am unable to get a good rom for this tablet that allows it to run somewhat decent. I mostly want to use it with Discord VC, Youtube and some other video streaming services. Maybe some web browsing as well. This tablet has just been sitting around for quiet a while so I plan to wipe it and since Samsungs official Rom is based on Android 4.2 (not sure how many apps still support that old a version) I would like to custom rom it. Any ideas?
You'd have to go with the Android 6 based custom roms if if you plan to use it long term. Android 7 based custom roms exist but they're laggy as heck.
I'd recommend SlimRoms 6 or OmniROMS 6 in terms of stability.
Been using Omni Rom 6, treated my device well. It also has Tablet layout for navigation buttons, which makes navigating easier in a wide tablet. Battery lasts very long if you don't use the device for some months.
But still, I also want to try out other Roms this time for Nougat, any recommendations?

Yeah, I guess I'll just stay with lower android versions (Marshmallow).
In your opinion, is it worth it to downgrade to Kitkat or Lollipop? I remember those have some ram leakage or security issues?
I'm also gonna install Xposed. I'm outdated with the latest news right now, should I use the old Xposed from Magisk or the EdXposed?
EdXposed only for higher Android versions?

About LP/KK many apps wont support it and i think they no more get security updates if i remember correctly.
Also i no more use xposed (as i dont use the tab as much as i used to) but for marshmallow normal xposed should work fine. I normally use Magisk for root and its modules

I see, makes sense. For me, I still have to use Xposed for Xposed edge gestures of power and volume buttons. They'll soon stop working if I continue using hardware keys.
By the way, have you tried the Anykernel OC-UV version by Android-Andi?

If you have, how's your experience with it? (performance & battery life)

the best one for me is OmniRoms 6.0. It is really stable for my Samsung P5100. It does not even stutter nor lag even GAPPS is installed. Here is the list I tried and it LAG so hard:
- Lineage OS 14 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat can't play YouTube Videos)
- Slim ROMs 7.1.2 (Nougat, no audio)
- Omni ROM 7.1.2 (Nougat, no camera)
- Slim ROMs 6.0 (Marshmallow, other buttons won't work)
The best one is OmniRoms 6.0 - Marshmallow. NO LAG AND EVERYTHING IS WORKING.
