I think it's the fact that this doesn't have much to do with the device development.
I think the apps section would have been more appropriate:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/themes-apps

I know but that wouldn't have the proper visibility because 90% of the i9506 users surf this section only.

I'd like to help, but I've installed 4.4.2 recently and I don't have root anymore, at least for now.
If you want the 4.3 version I have a backup, but it might be different. (I've got the 2 apks and odex files
Regards

I might give it a try if it's OK for you thanks.

OK, here it goes: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46031239/AccuWeather_43.zip
Try and see.
The app seems the same, or at least the 4.4.42 looks exactly as 4.3.. but they might be different. These files are from 4.3, on that version I had root and I replaced for S5 version, that's why I saved them.
If you need anything else, ask, maybe I can help you.

Thanks I am gonna give it a try right now!

Wait... don't go away!!!
I've got something for you, the 442 version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46031239/Widget_AccuWeather_442.zip
I realized a few minutes ago that with Airdroid I'm able to explore the /System/app folder... I couldn't imagine that, from G3 version.

I already tried the previous files, but something weird happened (not because of you of course)!
After I moved the files to /system/app/ and gave them the proper attrib I rebooted into recovery, wiped dalvik and cache, rebooted again and... everything was reset to default!!
Very weird issue and also Accuweather still didn't want to show up in the widgets.
Thanks God I had a Titanium backup from the beginning of September...
Now I am 'scared' to go on and try another ZIP.

Update:
Everything went fine this time!
Thank you!

First use Motochopper to root so you can use Titanium Backup to freeze the bloat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248 this one will work).
Then you can install Goomananger so you can install TWRP (menu=>install open recovery): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.s0up.goomanager
Finally, if you're feeling brave, you can do a backup of your phone first then try installing CyanogenMod: http://get.cm/?device=jfltecan
The Canadian model is jfltecan. Remember to install GAPPS (http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip)
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE.

unfortunately there is no firmware for (M) variant on the net. There is AT&T (USA) firmware, but for I337,
any way try to wipe cache via recovery.

Whats strange about it is the fact that right away, it had lag. I will try wiping the cache and will let you know.
I had an error when I tried wiping the cache.
Should I install a custom recovery as suggested earlier?

Someone else tried already. Apparently it will run. but without a Canadian modem to flash, there will be no network signal or wifi working.
When we have a modem to flash we should be OK.

Its SLIGHTLY better after clearing the cache via TWRP, but still lots of lag. Dont get it, from such a fast phone, there shouldnt be ANY lag! My Nexus 4 was SOO much smoother and faster (yet clearly not in benchmarks)

I too have an SGH-i337M (TELUS). Did you do the official update to build I337MVLUAMDJ? I had originally bought my phone on the unfinished I337MVLUAMDC and when I did the update a lot of the lag went away. However, I still had to freeze a lot of unwanted apps though settings > app manager, however I did come across a list of apps that were safe to remove/disable on the S3 (Some, not all are also found on the S4). You can see the list HERE.
Hopefully we'll see a list like this for the S4 soon.
[EDIT]
Also to note, I also came from a Nexus 4 and can definitely feel the difference as well, but the Nexus also didn't have bloatware running.

Mine came with the official build I337MVLUAMDJ and it was laggy as hell!
After rooting and removing lots of bloatware, it was still slow.
What cured my lag, was downloading the stock Firmware from Kies (and saving the file from temp folder, instead of using kies for the restore) and flashed it with odin. After restoring my backup from MyBackup Pro, its fast!
Why should we need to do all this work for a brand new phone. Good job Samsumg lol

Oh cool, I guess that works too lol. I managed to fix a majority of my lag after running a recovery script called "PalaTool" which was originally released for the Galaxy S III. The tool was designed to remove bloatware and allowed you to install optional UI changes and apps that could optimize things like Fast Dormancy, etc. Running the tool unfortunately doesn't remove the bloat, but it did with the Seeder Entropy Pool.

You mean S4 I assume? My backup from my S2 to my S4 worked a treat. You didn't try to backup and restore system apps did you? That would cause a whole world of trouble.

The latest built of Samsungs Official Update called NG8 don't support towelroot anymore. No one knows why. Maybe some changes in the Kernel.
I would buy a 9505 or when it's possible for you a 9506, there is less support on XDA, that's right, but you got an Snapdragon 800 and the faster LTE, so really close to the Galaxy S5.
So if you don't want to flash thousands of custom ROM, this will be your best choice.

Well this is because Samsung patched the loophole that was being exploited by geohot.
They knew about the loophole as stated by them.on www.samsungknox.com and they clearly stated that Knox 2.0 shall stop that exploit.
They did it.
That is why NG8, the latest official firmware, has knox 2.0 and does not support towelroot anymore.

Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 help?

Hey everyone, I just got a Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 inch yesterday from T-Mobile, but i'm having trouble finding a custom recovery and custom rom for it.
Can you guys help me out?
I managed to get it rooted using Chainfire Autoroot, but while I keep trying to install TWRP, it just loads into Download Mode and says "could not normal boot".
Any help would be appreciated.
If anyone can, please link me to a TWRP Odin Flashable that will work and a good custom ROM, thanks!
I've looked around some when I got my tablet a few months ago. Sorry to say, I have yet to find a custom ROM for this particular tablet.

[How To] Enable WiFi Hotspot on Rooted Lollipop OC1 ROM's

Enable native tethering on Galaxy Note 3 AT&T (SM-N900A) running Android 5.0
This is personally Tested on my Galaxy Note 3 running rooted OC1 5.0 Rom
and Galaxy S4 AT&T SGH-I337 running rooted 5.0 rom
Backup your existing TetheringProvision.apk (I just renamed my old one TetheringProvision.apk1)
place modded apk in system/app/TetheringProvision/
Make sure permissions are set as seen in screenshot
delete TetheringProvision/ARM folder before rebooting
Reboot device
????????????
Profit!
As always this is at your own risk

Awesome! Glad to hear that it worked for you.
Sofar I've far I have tested the modded APK on ;
AT&T Galaxy S4 on both Android 4.4.4 and 5.0
AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on Android 5.0
At&T Samsung Galaxy S5 on 4.4.2
AT&T Note 3 here and i can say it works and is much better than the last workaround i tried. Basically after using the tether I had to restart the phone to reenable wifi.
Edit: Spoke too soon. When I turn off the hotspot wifi comes back on and connects. However, the occasional web page will refuse to load. Will only load 3/4 of the way unless I leave it for like 2 minutes. Pages with embedded video don't load within that time period at all. But youtube embeds work as does the app. Restarting the phone fixes everything.
At least it is progress in my case! Using an app before would cause wifi to show as toggeled on, but refused to connect or turn off.
Hello guys I'm new to the android devices I tried to install this apk file but it just tells me that it is not installed is their another app that I need to get this to work I just rooted my note 3 yesterday and upgraded to the lollipop thanks in advance

Galaxy Note 3 (9000A) on CricKet network running 4.4.2. Towelrooted months ago and TouchWiz recently began crashing, so I finally did a factory reset. Lost ability to hotspot tether using FoxFi/PdaNet. Did the reset change some settings? If so, how do I change them back? Perhaps someone more experienced could walk me through the apk change or point me to a "____ for Idiots" type tutorial.
Anyone try this on OC2?

I spent almost 2 hrs based on OPs steps but it kept saying "TetheringProvision.apk failed" or something after each reboot and then I almost gave up.
Luckily I saw your post that we should delete the ARM folder so I thought of giving it a last try...just in case you know.
And BOOM... after deleting the ARM folder and rebooting again, no error and then when I went to settings to enable HotSpot, it enabled flawless...lol
OP, can you pls add this simple step i.e. delete TetheringProvision/ARM folder before rebooting so everyone gets 100% success in this...???
Anyway, thanks a lot OP for this or else nothing else matters...
Will Att still see you tethering without the correct plan?

I used supersume pro, gave me trouble doing it so I had to remove some of the kingroot files manually. seems to be working, super su working. as for the apk provision files, no joy, seems something is different in 5.0.1 so i went with wifi tether router and that works just fine. finally, its been a long road to get here...

UPDATE , New Method to Enable Tethering Hotspot :
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. installed "XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk" (for lollipop)
2. Flashed "xposed-sdk21-arm-20150430-arter97-V3.zip" via softstrap recovery (Note 3 at&t only)
3. Rebooted and Installed "com.dym.motoxtether_v5_aa815c.apk".
4. Open Xposed Installer -> Modules -> Check X Tether Module and Reboot Phone.
5. Done !! Tethering is Working Now.
This Process has been tested on Note 3 AT&T Running on Lollipop 5.0 Stock.
All files attached here and taken from xda.
Thank you. The tether apk worked fine from the first post. And the xposed worked from the post above. I now believe my phone is as good as it can get while locked.
