Move2sd workaround. Good info! - Xperia Z1 General

Check this out!
Combine these 2, do some manual moving and you can use the sd card like you used to with 4.3 and earlier!
Sdfix app:

And.
Obb to SD:

Not sure how it works with games or apps working with data folders, yet obb is mostly used. So the biggest problem is solved!

Unfortunately, no :crying:
And what about this?

This won't work. It's Android design that prevents it from working. Ever since 3.0 Android uses a single partition for everything and will not allow system files on other partitions. In 2.3 and before we has one partition for apps and one for other stuff. All App2SD is actually a hidden form of repartitioning. This is no more. I guess mainly because of stability issues.
Its frustrating. Sygic satnav allows you to move the map files manually to your ext SD card and it works just fine. I hope these larger games will soon allow us to do the same.

[Q] rooted MOJO: how to move apps to SD card

Hi all,
I successfully rooted my MOJO, but I still don't know how to move games to the SD card. I tried a few apps to achieve this, but none of them seems to work. What am I doing wrong? I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance!
Are the apps giving you any message? App2SD will say something like "The device does not have real primary external storage, or the Primary external storage is emulated. Moving app to SD function may not be supported by this device"
You might try this: http://karthikkn.wordpress.com/2013...ard-on-your-android-phone-without-rooting-it/

Are you sure your SD card is being read by the MOJO?
Format SD Card to FAT format.
Insert Card.
Go to settings, storage, mount sd card.

Yes, my SD card is mounted, I can access it by using a file explorer. However I am not able to move games.
@ExtremeRyno Yes, this is exactly what App2SD is saying. Thanks for the link, did you try it out? I don't think this is going to work on the mojo, since it is not possible to connect a USB cable and using ADB. Or am I wrong?
Is nobody here who successfully moved games to SD card? We have root now, so it should be easy, or not?
You can ADB in via network. Get the IP of the mojo from settings->status, then it's just "adb connect ipaddr" so you can try out the link instructions.
Root doesn't always equate to a completely open system. Some devices just don't work with moving apps to an SD card. My A700 doesn't allow it, and I'm rooted, but my NookColor does allow it. I've yet to get my cable delivered, so I can't attest to anything as of yet.
Maybe someone with MadCatz can give an explanation? I know it's an extremely important feature for a gaming console to have enough storage to handle more than ten or so big games at a time.

Found a new app today that seems to get around the problems the other apps have: FolderMount. It's free. I plan to try it out as soon as I root...Probably in the next couple days. If you get a chance before me, let us know how it works.

Also, I'm aware of the double post, but they're days apart and this needed a bump (for great justice, right?)

Tanks for the tip! I just tried out this app, but unfortunatly it doesn't work. Maybe it works for smaller games, because I was able to move the data to the SD card with it. But if you move big games with OBB data and then start the game, it doesn't find anymore its OBB data and downloads it again.
Also, you can't move back the data from the SD card. I just tried it out with NOVA 3 and I have to redownload the whole game now
It works now, yeehaaa :good:
For some reason, the MOJO needs to be rebooted after moving the OBB data to SD card
Summary:
1. Root the MOJO
2. Format your SD card as a primary partition using fat32
3. Install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
4. Move OBB data of your games
5. reboot
Remark: If you want to move more than 2 apps/games, you will have to buy the pro version of this app.
Awesome! I tried it out on my tablet last night and moved around a couple games....But never more than two at a time. I had no idea that was actually a limitation, either..Just worked out that way. I'll have to buy the full version as soon as I root.
Excellent news.
Not working

I tried that folder mount and did move the folders, but the internal storage indicates the same as before and the obb data remains in the internal storage as apposed to moving completely to the external.Meaning i don't know why but it doesn't work?I too have rooted my m.o.j.o so it's not because of that either.

Okay try again but on a fresh start (on/off).
Maybe you had a process running in the back?
And remember to reboot it after moving.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748087 this works though just been clarified for games being moved.
Unless I am mistaken apps2sd and gl to sd, don't move the data file making them useless in the real world. and I've not looked into it for about 6 months or so, so something might have changed but filemount doesn't work correctly on android 4.2.2 and onwards.
And unfortunately its the same for directory bind (undoubtedly the best mount/binder ever on android) simply amazing application but again it don't like 4.2.2
Not tried directory bind on the mojo cause unless some things changed with it the last few months its not going to work. Also I don't fancy doing anything to the mojo until a Recovery's available and that ain't happening unfortuinately

Install Apps on SDCARD without root

Hi guys. I was wondering if there's a way to install apps on SDCARD without root? I've already changed the default storage in settings but it doesn't seem to work.
mine it's working.
I think normal apps aren't normally allowed to use sdcard in Lollipop(or maybe from Kit Kat onward). They don't even have permission to see the sdcard...But why would you want that? Do you have that many apps installed that internal is full?
@andrei80 yup. Some of my games are 1gb above. @ItalianWolf when you install an app, does it directly go to the SDCARD? I wonder why that's not my case.
@rHycH
yes (memory usage tells )
Maybe sd card isn't fast enought? It's, at least, a class 10 card?
Some apps can't be installed on sd card and can't be moved to sd card from app manager.
@ItalianWolf Yes, I believe this is a class 10 card. If you don't mind can you give me an example of an app that you were able to install successfully on your SDCARD? Thanks!
Also, Link2SD/Mounts2SD/Apps2SD doesn't work for me. Anybody else got a different experience? Games are taking a lot of space on my internal SD. Specifically talking about linking/binding obb files.
@Rookert I believe link2sd requires root to work.
Yup, all I have read indicate that root is needed for achieving what you want

Swap SD CARD

Because J5 2015 has 8gb internal memory which only ~3gb ar for apps, i want to change internal memory with external memory - sdcard (32gb class 10). On my Galaxy SIII i could do this (vold.fsab) but on J5 i cant.
How can i do this?

If you need it for games data, then try Obb on SD xposed module, but it moved only the obb folder. Big games like asphalt and others use obb folder.
I've used it and it does it's job.

Ok will i give a try because im using Xposed, no need to pay for plus link2sd
I'm Also Using A Galaxy J5 But For Some Reason, Link2SD+ Doesn't Work On My Device (error: Link2SD package invalid) So I Use Apps2SD Pro And It Works Like A Charm

Anyway to Move OBB to SD Card? (rooted)

so i like games _ (us girls love to play during waiting traveling or just escaping the day2day stuff.
iv got the GS5 16G, Rooted with **CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltexx-smg900f**.
so i found there was an awesome feature where one could format the SD as INTERNAL Storage.......... and then i learned that they REMOVED it on 6.0.1.
i also tried some apps like Root Essentials (to adopt the SD?... but then i saw that the storage section showed ONLY the 16G internal and the sd 16G i had were no where to found).
i tried Link2SD..... BUT THAT SCREWED UP BOTH INTERNAL & SD!!!!! _ (Flush stock again).
so i thought maybe some friends here would know of a good solution for this?
i would like to move .obb files to sd and still have the games working.
thank you.
[EDIT]
Found a Solution, a good one, Its called ROOT ESSENTIALS. look it up here on XDA _ (when using it, the most important thing is to do the MIGRATE DATA.)
Hi!
I was going to tell you to use Link2SD and I think this is the way to move obb files
What problem did you have with Link2SD?
There's an xposed module called "obb on sd" that works on lollipop. Not sure about marshmallow.
Thank you all.
i got it to work with awesome "Root Essentials".
Thank you.
Vcvc
How dd u move the obb to sd n still use the game
